281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which altcoin mining more profitable? on: May 14, 2018, 10:12:18 AM
if found one, and you're generous you may share them here Wink

Ah..I always like your posts. Super agree with you.  Cheesy
282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best coin to stake with Raspberry pi 3? on: May 11, 2018, 04:05:35 AM
Oh ok, I mean I stake my coins on a shitty old HP laptop so I don't really care if it breaks down haha. But with the raspberry pi's being so cheap I ended up buying 2 of them anyway, at least I can learn some linux Cheesy

Aha... Cheesy  Cheesy
Don't forget to backup your wallet in the safe place, in case your "shitty old HP laptop" breaks down and you can access its storage devices.

Doing PoS needs to run devices that have low power consumption for reducing electricity cost, Raspberry Pi and some kind is a good option.  Wink
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig shut down. To hot? on: May 10, 2018, 01:52:41 PM
I had the same problems with the door  Wink, before. But it's happened to my R9 rig (we know that this series was prone to overheat). When my Mining room door's open, that rig was okay, but when closed, soon this rig will crash.

I add a few additional fans to this rig, and the problem was gone. But I'm not sure related to your issue, you have reasonable temps on your whole devices. Maybe you need to start troubleshooting with lowering your cards setting. Then also, do another analysis of what possible may causing this.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Thinking about starting a mining farm in California on: May 10, 2018, 11:28:59 AM
Crypto mining industry has gone wild, at least since a half years back. And overall that's hard to predict. Return on investment and profit can't calculate easily. But I can say for sure (my own experience), I've never lost profit since my first mining (2014). But it will be different for every condition.

What makes it different related to your case?

- Electricity cost,
- The ambient temperature in your mining area. (related to an extra cost)

Besides that.
How experienced you are in mining.

You can suggest your acquaintance invest in Crypto mining, but you need to explain what was the risk. Add may we can call it as "game of Californication."  Cheesy
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Question on: May 10, 2018, 07:57:28 AM
People aren't stopped to mine using laptops nor even mobile phones, that was the fact. A lot of members has warned about this in a lot of thread. We don't know hows effective that warning (but yeah, maybe it's good to warn 'em).

But I believe while 'em experienced itself it will be more effective. I didn't say, they must wait till their laptops burned, or some other terrible thing happened.

Exploring will be giving you the real experience, "asking as a part of.  Wink
286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best coin to stake with Raspberry pi 3? on: May 10, 2018, 07:23:30 AM
Is there a big difference staking on a raspberry pi as opposed to staking on a laptop that runs just a wallet and no other programs?

The main difference was you can run Raspberry Pi 24/7 without any worried. It will be different while you were running your laptop 24/7. Running your laptop 24/7 even just for doing PoS would risk your laptop.

From a technical side, both aren't giving much difference.
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Question on: May 10, 2018, 07:02:47 AM
You can find it easily with Google, just type "CPU mineable coin list.". Let me demonstrate it to you, and I'll pick a random result from Google search. Here's one of the results: http://cpucoinlist.com/   Cheesy

Mostly mining using a laptop categorized as CPU mining, yeah I know a few high-end laptops have integrated with high-end GPU, but most of em' has a standard integrated graphics card.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Miner machine - have to use pool on: May 10, 2018, 06:48:30 AM
It would depend on which coin that you were trying to mine. Coins with high Network Hashrate & Diff would be better to do pooled mining, you still have a change to solving a block with solo Mining, but just a bit chance. Trust me!

You can do solo mining to the coins that have low Network Hashrate & Diff (New & Old coins).  Wink
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AM4 mining motherboard suggestions? on: May 10, 2018, 06:38:37 AM
Let me clear your situation first. Since you mentioned "CPU mining coins."

So, your plan is doing CPU mining, using Ryzen and have had trouble to find the best motherboards, right? Or may you also have another plan to add some GPUs?

If you planned only for CPU mining, PCIe slot isn't the priority (as mentioned in above comment). But that was a good idea; you can add some cards to PCIe slot while you were bored with CPU mining.  Wink
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to know which currency is the most profitable to be mined? on: May 10, 2018, 03:36:35 AM
There are many cryptos that suddenly change their price and it may be interesting to start mining them, but how is it possible to know? What methods do you use to know it?

It's as much a personal preference as a "what's the most profitable" when deciding which coin to mine.
One of the main factors I have to consider is power consumption as my electricity cost are quite high.
So I mine Cryptonight coins as they take about 25%-30% less power (and so more profit) to run than Ethash coins do.

Aha..that's good!  Wink

Power consumption, it was another factor of profitability. And it could be one of profitabilities variable that must be counted, in the end, power consumption and electricity cost was on miners side. It would be different for each miner.
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to know which currency is the most profitable to be mined? on: May 09, 2018, 07:33:47 PM
First of all, you should know what makes a coin to be the most profitable than other, the things that used as count variable for coin profitabilities. This is that few things:

Network Hashrate,
Difficulty,
Coin prices,
and
a few secret things that you will only find it with do it your self.  Wink

You can use public's information related to coins, such as Whattomine, Coinwarz, etc. as your reference. But do your own calculation for the final decision, cause public's information (coins rank/profitability) accessed and used by a lot of people.

292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vega 56 minimum system requirements for mining ? on: May 09, 2018, 02:57:35 AM
Just wanted to know if it is possible. I will order bigger PSU in a few days. CoolerMaster psu calculater says I need 430w psu with my setup.

You can force to use current PSU as I said above. You need to tweak your card to do mining with your current PSU, but even with tweaking your card, it isn't safe with that PSU wattage.

Yeah, that was a good idea, ordering PSU with more bigger wattage.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vega 56 minimum system requirements for mining ? on: May 08, 2018, 07:50:27 AM
As long as your Motherboards has a compatible socket for your cards (PCIe socket), you can be installing those Vega 56 on your board, and you can mine with it. One other important thing is PSUs, wattage and your card also need an excellent efficiency PSU's to handle it. Your 450 Watt (80+) is fine for idle  Grin, but for mining, you need more wattage (since you are using Vega 56). You can force using that PSU but isn't safe.
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini - GPU mining killed ? on: May 04, 2018, 10:37:23 AM
Everyone can buy it, and everyone can use it (compare it to GPUs rig).

Everyone can buy and use it, really? Let's consider the following:

1. The cost of the latest ZEC ASIC is $2000 USD. Isn't that a rather large risky investment for a non-crypto person? A simple GPU that can mine any coin would start at $250-$300.
2. You can only buy 1 ZEC ASIC per person. Companies or other entities probably have a way of getting around this while the regular person will have to buy 2nd hand ASICs at inflated prices.
3. Have you ever owned an ASIC and heard how loud it is? Unless you love DIY and have extra space and a lot of time on your hands, a regular person's house is not a place to run ASICs.

Just throwing these out there. I'm pretty sure theres more reasons and disadvantages to ASIC but i haven't listed them all.

1.It's not fair when you were comparing one ASICs (Antminer Z9) with one only GPUs, just look at OP's post. I didn't say that every miner must have at least one standard rigs (6 GPU), in fact, many of 'em have at least three (3) GPU on their rig or even more. Calculate it, how much that rig will cost you and don't forget about power consumption.
2.One Z9 Mini equal to one powerful GPUs rig, and cost you less and more efficient on power usage.
3.My last ASICs was Antminer S1 and S2 (in the last of 2014 - first of 2015), So I know how noisy it is.

I didn't use ASIC now and I didn't plan to buy, as I said above, I'm GPU miner and my mining activity isn't affected by ASICs expansion because I stay focus on what I can do more with my GPUs rigs.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini - GPU mining killed ? on: May 04, 2018, 09:56:07 AM

Super agree with you.

As a GPU miner, ASICs expansion more like a new challenge to do more. Just remember, thousands of coins out there, even every algorithm has a lot of coins and almost every days we found a new thing, regeneration keeps going each time. Just stay focus and keep going.

That is not the goal of crypto. Bitcoin was designed to be decentralized and distribute power to the masses. There are just too many barriers to entry for regular people to be using ASICs in their homes. It sounds like you've given up but i for one don't see why developers can't tweak algorithms and develop true ASIC resistance. Monero just should us that it is possible. Anyone else not doing it should have a reasonable explanation.

It isn't centralization, after all. Just look at the price and power consumption. Everyone can buy it, and everyone can use it (compare it to GPUs rig). The main only problems are this machine comes after a lot of miner use GPUs (off course beside issue or may fact that Bitmain sends the machine that already used after they do "silent" mining for some time).

We have zero control over ASICs machine producer also coins Dev, But yes, people power (community) may do it.

Personally, I don't like doing something that I can't control. and it's not giving up, that called fighting, survive or whatever. Just focusing your energy on what we can do more, keep learning, keep going.  Wink

-snip-
Thank you for fixing the photos, It was so late for men here to and I was making sure everything is okay before going live, and yes you add your miner address and the pool you’re mining on and it will track your statistics

My pleasure.

What you were doing is awesome, while peoples fuss something unuseful, you doing something different. I appreciate it.
I'll test your tool when I have time, one of my rigs still at Ethermine, so I can test it.
297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 mini - GPU mining killed ? on: May 04, 2018, 07:15:48 AM
-snip-

No, GPU mining is not killed.  This is the same thing we have seen with bitcoin and every other coin and every other algorithm that gets an ASIC or FPGA for it.  There are just too many reasons for GPU mining to carry-on as always.

For one thing, GPUs are so attainable and prevalent.  Gamers can mine and miners can mine and it's all good.  Some day people will get over it and just realize that ASIC and FPGA are just part of the cyrptocurrency ecosystem that was built by GPUs which have always been and will continue to be the FOUNDATION!

Super agree with you.

298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What is best to mine? on: May 04, 2018, 05:49:55 AM
If anyone would tell better/more profitable coin to mine in 30min profitability would drop by 2-3x... pointless

yeah, so better find it yourselves and keep it yourselves only, that's what real miners do Cheesy

it applies not only on mining physical golds or silvers but also with crypto's

You both take the point.  Wink

Maybe people should know hows crypto mining work and any other things related to mining profitability. As I say above, asking coin name as a better coin for mine equal to asking for an unprofitable coin.

Real miners, doing own research to find most profitable coins.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner - DRIVERS on: May 04, 2018, 05:37:59 AM
As Vann said, new gen cards better using the newest driver, but old cards still getting the best performance using old driver. My AMD R9 series (290, 290X, 390, 390X) getting the best performance using 16.9.2 driver.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My solution to keeping cards cool as summer temperatures rise: Hydroponics tent on: May 04, 2018, 04:31:17 AM
Pretty cool, it can handle temps issue and also save the place. That Tent will not be affected too much by ambient temperature. Are you planned to add another cooling system on that tent? Let's say mini portable AC nor DYI cooling systems using Peltier or something similar?
