The ?ibee's would be a problem.  They are close to the should-have-been-aborted SI units, which, at least to AmGen speakers sound like baby talk and mush mouth, making them somewhat distasteful to say.

So kibee, bitcee, dibee, cibee, mibee and nabee would probably not find wide adoption and suffer the same ill-fate as the SI prefixes.

I bet someone that has a high capacity CNC machine that releases a water block for these would make bank.  I wish I knew how to mill.

You need to use -S /dev/ttyUSBx for each additional past the first.

I dunno, I just checked FedEx.  I guess I could send it USPS, hmm...  I might consider $350 shipped assuming it's around $30 to ship.  Seems to be a lot of interest so far, so I'm not desperate yet Smiley

again, i'm not debating that. If BFL's designers are so good (which again, it seems that they are) that they're running into thermal issues, they should create a solution that actually solves the issue. The box design is not optimized for airflow, the heatsink is not optimized for dissipation, and the sanding was not optimized for heatsink contact, thus creating issues.

I don't disagree that the box design is not optimal in any way and I agree with you other assessments.  I was merely pointing out the fact that there are literally no other FPGA vendors doing or have done what BFL has done with these chips.  Even disregarding the plastic vs metal issue for a comparison, no other vendor would have run into these problems because they are not pushing the chips to continuous duty as far as bitcoin mining pushes them.

iSellBitcoins - 36 BTC includes shipping to US addresses.

Fuxianhui888: I know, but I wanted to see how much it would cost me to ship.  If it was 10 bucks, I might bite, if it's 50 bucks, then no. Smiley

EDIT: Fuxianhui888 -  I will have to decline, shipping is like $60 US.
2807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to call 0.001 BTC? (5 BTC Bounty) on: May 24, 2012, 06:53:33 PM
How about just "embee" ... mb .. mili-bit.

20 embee' for that cup of coffee!  Has the added bonus of being abbreviated as mb or MB.  Might get confused with a Megabit or byte, though.. although if someone takes Megabits for food, that might be full of win.

PM me your address and I will check on what shipping would be.

I'm not weighing in on the polished vs unpolished debate (or sanded properly or not) ... but I do want to point out this:

Other fpga manufacturers are not having throttling issues.

There are no other FPGA manufacturers that are utilizing these chips in this manner, so it's basically a first adopter problem for BFL in design and operation.  Virtually all other FPGA applications do not utilize the chip to the capacity bitcoin mining does, which is, as I understand it, the fundamental problem BFL had in the beginning with their designs and simulations and the start/root cause of all the mystery to begin with.

Only a few hours left, it is not looking good. Sad  The real kick in the nuts is how close it is, argh!

I am selling 6x Gigabyte 5870's still under warranty.   Most cards have only been mining a brief time since they have been RMA'd fairly recently.  Comes with original box.

I actually have more cards to sell, but I'll start with these.

Looking to get ~36 BTC each shipped in the US.  International shipping can be negotiated.

All cards have around 1.5 years of warranty left, if not more.
2813  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL "EasyMiner" Released. Reviews? on: May 24, 2012, 03:30:36 PM
You probably need to install the FTDI driver if it's a fresh install.

No, that honor should be left for Windows ME
2815  Economy / Marketplace / Re: ["WAIT LIST"] BFL Singles Order Date / Ship Date on: May 24, 2012, 02:55:38 PM
The bet is that it will ship by today for D&T... while I admit it's looking pretty grim at this point, I don't consider the bet over as of yet.
2816  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Pool API Standard on: May 24, 2012, 12:40:42 PM
I would agree, historical data is better provided as CSV.  The API should be for relevant current information that changes frequently.
2817  Other / Off-topic / Re: Things said, and fights picked while we're waiting for our BFL products on: May 24, 2012, 12:35:27 PM
You really have no idea what "Burden of proof" means, do you?  YOU are the one making the claim, therefore the burden of proof is on you.  BFL has made no claims one way or the other, therefore they have no burden of proof.  But what can you expect from someone who consistently lies, is proven to lie and is completely unable to counter or provide any evidence for any of his lies.

Go on Mem, keep lying.  You do good work in the lying department.  Love how you are putting words in not only Sgt Spike's mouth, but my own as well.  Maybe one day you'll grow up and stop crying about people not believing you.  I doubt it though, since the only way you can make your case is by lying, over and over.

PS - 1 & 3 are the same.  Still.  no matter how many times your little brain wishes it were not so, sadly it is.

I think I identified and removed the offending code or at least a good portion of it.  Gonna hit the sack, hopefully there will be no crashes tonight.

I've been working on the server to narrow down the specific cause.  Getting closer now ...

Just our of curiosity, why are you using Ufasoft miner and not another miner that can recover from glitches?
