2821  Other / Off-topic / Re: TMAN - do you want to set up a domain with me on: April 28, 2018, 08:03:55 PM
I've just read this thread on the beginners board. - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3267513.0
I own BiggestCunts.com - how about starting to list some of the guys who just refuse to read anything, and then continue to repeat incorrect information. I'm so tired of this behaviour by new members spamming rubbish.
Just out of curiosity, how many domains you actually own? And what goes on in your mind when you buy a domain under the name of BiggestCunts.com LOL
2822  Other / Meta / Re: Need help with recovering lost password to Legendary Account on: April 28, 2018, 07:57:55 PM
I was about to vouch for you, a Legendary account is in trouble seems very hurting where recovering an account these days takes a long time I guess.

But something caught my eyes. It's about your sMerit sending history. Man, reall!!!(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=339752)

What are you trying for sibnia and Steepdev ?

Click here if unable to see image

You are a merit abuser. Your profile needs to be investigated and I suspect you have a connection with sibnia and Steepdev.
May be they are you ALTs.

Sadly it's not BitcoinTalk far you, it's SteepCoinTalk for you and your gang.
2823  Other / Meta / Re: How to gain merits? on: April 28, 2018, 12:57:31 PM
Bitcointalk now create merit system.
But How to gain merits?
Is there any good way for gain merits? I wanted to know.
Advance Thank you very much for you kind information.

I think you need to look around and be patience. Also there are so many users offering their sMerits why not try them. I created one today as well. Feel free to see my post history.

Just out of the curiosity Smiley

Hire a good signature designer, start you own signature campaign with the link of this topic. May be you can create a poll too to take feedback of the users.
Easy... it's just another suggestion  Grin

Mate, you are over reacting with a simple issue which you could resolve at the first place with a decent talk with the pharma but instead you have chosen the hard way.

He aint going to remove it!
Doing something from assumption is not always right.
2827  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Merit review OPEN] submit your last 10 posts (+additional 1) to receive 1 merit on: April 28, 2018, 11:30:22 AM
~
Please try again not the valid format I asked.

1. archive.is of your post history where 6/10 posts has to be objectively high-quality
...objectively high-quality, not just posts that you agree with.
2. Submit one good quality post (on this topic of mine, read that thread carefully please) that you think should be merited if you had available sMerit. Include the reason why. Including reason is a must to qualify.

Did you even read the whole thread LOL. Just edit the comment again do not need to post another comment.

Thanks
2828  Other / Off-topic / [OPEN: 15 available] submit your last 10 posts (+additional 1) to receive merit on: April 28, 2018, 11:14:05 AM
This is an outdated topic. I am no longer following this topic

I have some sMerits to spend, 15 for now (last updated). If anyone think this is against the rule then please let me know I will lock this topic however I hope it's not.

I know there are a lot of members making very good posts but not receiving merits I hope this initiative will give them a little exposure for their contents. This is what I want from you to receive one of my sMerit.

Oh really do you expect me to kiss his ass so that my reds would be removed? i got my balls back
No, I do not expect anything from you. It was a friendly suggestion nothing else. I understand you are having a hype time now and things are getting out of your control.

Good luck

idiot pharmacist giving red trust to the accounts which i didnt even know, unluckily having a username which has "crypto" is a crime!...

Why do people get too much upset and through things out of anger? Do you think showing rude attitude gonna resolve the issue (?)

Let's say The pharmacist MADE a mistake (for the sake of argue). Do you think throwing out these kind of statement is going to help to get a good reply from anyone. After all we are human. If you have problem with someone then why not be polite and explain.

Nothing is personal here. It's a forum mate. At-least we need to act gentle.

Edit:
I believe we should give the benefit of the doubt to anyone if there is no sufficient evidence.

True. It's really easy. Make a gentle decent conversation with the person, ask the reason of redTagged. Be logical1 on why you are not guilty. Simple! Isn't it?

1 Some example excuses

future* = when bitcoin reaches $100k
I see a BIG doubt in you mind LOL
Yes two factor can be an option as well I am not denying. I guess I agreed with it in one of the post on this thread. The motivation behind my ideas are:
1. Help being anonymous (no email address)
2. Automate recovery system (Perhaps no recovery need to offer)

In that case proposal two looks fine to me although having both do not harm.
2832  Other / Meta / Re: Why are account and merit sale topics allowed on the forum? on: April 28, 2018, 09:12:52 AM
I can't remember but I guess I have seen similar thread few days ago with similar formatting. Really not sure.

EDIT: Did any one notice the same or it's only me?
2833  Other / Meta / Re: STOP 'Quote post'- To Everyone Who use "Quote" Most of the time on: April 28, 2018, 09:09:58 AM
Here is another one. I do feel the same when I see unnecessary quoting.

Note: My intention is not to hurt any individual user. All reference found at random.
Someone should not be hurt. It's very clear that your references are reasonable.

...others prefer a snip ( [ snip ] ) or a tilde ( ~ ).
I do use (~)

2836  Other / Meta / Re: How many Legendary and Hero members are there in Bitcointalk? on: April 27, 2018, 07:40:38 PM
Go to the members tab and search by position.
There are 34 pages of legendary members. Around 1020 legendary members.
The number of Hero members are same as well (!) 34 pages, 30 on each page means 1020 members again. I guess something wrong on the data.
It can not be a coincidence. IMO the table is restricted for max 1020 data only.

2837  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk on: April 27, 2018, 04:32:02 PM
Understood that you are talking about my first option but how about the second option where you need to use the given text to sign the bitcoin address you registered the account.
It'll be the same as many other threads where people either lost their private key, or got it compromised.
Well if these people can lose the 12 words of their recovery phrase (Bitcoin wallet) where they may have some bitcoin (say even 0.01 BTC) then the same people won't bother to lose the secret key of an BitcoinTalk account. LOL

They may even think bitcointalk DOT to (<=== careful visiting the site, it's not actual BitcoinTalk) is BitcoinTalk as well.

PS: Honestly speaking I am not concerned about these people. I am concerned about genuine members.
2838  Other / Meta / Re: Separate Local Board on: April 27, 2018, 04:19:32 PM
Just a thought only. Why not you guys create a pool in your local section and then invite all the local users to vote there. Then submit it to theymos.
This way the admins will have a good understanding of numbers. I see a lot of support on this thread.

PS: I am not an Ukrainian however I believe in the whole world as a country. For good cause I have support from all circumstances.

2839  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk on: April 27, 2018, 03:05:32 PM
I agree with you however I guess people will take this very seriously because it's a secret key.
I take my password very serious because it's a password.

Quote
>>> For my Ledger neno affiliate login I only have the Secret Key and I know that If I lose it then I am going to lose my entire account
For hundreds of online accounts I only have my password and (to use your own words) I know that If I lose it then I am going to lose my entire account.

Why would it be any different if you call my password a "secret key"?

Understood that you are talking about my first option but how about the second option where you need to use the given text to sign the bitcoin address you registered the account.

Why not keep both options for users to give more flexibility. These methods at-least will decrease the account recovery/hacked etc posts we are seeing these days. It's automated so mods will need no manual work.
2840  Other / Meta / Re: Secret Question issue: theymos, consider hassle to recover locked account on: April 27, 2018, 02:59:46 PM
Bill the forum is not perfect. I accept it. I hope you do as well (there is nothing bad in not to be perfect). What we are doing is - trying to improve our experience for the forum. You, me, everyone who cares about the forum we all are doing the same. It's theymos's and other admins job what to chose and what not to coz they know better than you and me on what exactly need to do for the forum. They are the ultimate deciders.

You believe that it is a fairly advanced that doesn't read stickies or educate themselves on the security of their accounts?
This was really insulting without prior knowledge about me. On March 20th I calculated my logged in time per day was 2 hours 13 minutes, now it's gone to (approximately calculated) 3 hours 10 minutes/day!. It's around 16 hours a week. My question is spending purely 16 hours a week is a lot of time for a forum. Don't you think I read a lot on the forum also write?

Anyway the topic was about the security issue and let's be in it. It's no good bringing another dimension on the topic.

I see the fears and I share them with you guys. The security question has been proven to be a security flaw and so most people do not even have one set, from what I understand. I think it is goofy that it operates the way it does, too. I wish that it was fixed as much as the next user, because it's like a booby-trap to lock someone out of their own account. I imagine that with the new forum software being developed this will be a problem of the past.
Let's say I agree with you. The most don't even set one but the least (including me) who set, I guess they are the most serious BitcoinTalk users, right? Those most do not care much may be so, they don't look for any security. Don't we need to think about those least serious BitcoinTalk users in this case?

1.
It should not be like to deal with bunches of codes. In the front panel part, a little html change can disable users to take input of Secret Question.

Code:
<input type="text" name="SecretQuestion">
The standard one

Code:
<input type="text" name="SecretQuestion" disabled>
With disabled attribute.

Closely see the difference. It's only adding a disabled attribute in the HTML will not allow the users to set a secret question.

2.
On the password remainder page just delete the HTML cheackbox that represents for ask me my question.

These should not be harder than unlocking a lot of locked account for Secret Question issue. Plus the amount of hassle the members go through on recovering the locked account I guess.
