2821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I suddenly decided to leave gambling alone. on: October 02, 2017, 01:26:55 PM
It's good to lay it off for a while. Especially if you find that you can't control yourself when gambling.

Yes, there's no other thing to do if you are finding trouble with yourself and gambling is the root cause of it. Sometimes lie lowing isn't about you are trying to forget it forever. Taking a rest for a while and then gets back to it when you are ready but just to make sure that you'll not do the same mistake again or else the sequence will be repetitive and in your part you'll still can't move on or else just find the things that will get your interest.
I don't know if it's a good idea to start gambling again if you know that you have a gambling problem.
Even if everything seems fixed, you can easily relapse when you gamble again, even if it's just occasionally.

If you're really addicted, it might be best to call it quits for good and ask the gambling sites to block your IP if possible.
I know that Crypto-Games has that option if you're a problem gambler, I don't know about other sites.

This is from Crypto-Games FAQ:

What if I can't stop gambling?

Gambling can become an addiction that can have serious negative effects on your life. If you lose more than you planned to, please check these sites for information that can help you: Help Guide, Wikipedia. Or, you can contact us and we'll block your account and/or IP address. We truly value our players and do not want our Casino to negatively affect their lives.
2822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I did it! Traveling with Bitcoin and $100 only on: October 02, 2017, 01:00:28 PM
Those are definitely some nice savings, I wouldn't have thought that you would've saved that much on fees alone, but exchange rates can be expensive indeed.

You exchanged Bitcoin for cash in Turkey? Did you feel safe at all transactions, I think I would be pretty nervous tbh...
You probably picked sellers with a lot of good reviews, at least I hope so?

You also left when the price dropped significantly, did you panic when you saw the price dropping right before your vacation?

And we had another high roller with balls today!:

You're right it certainly takes balls to attempt a recovery bet like that. That's really good to see it come off for someone. Fortune favours the brave as they say.
Wow yeah, at todays prices that's definitely one massive bet Shocked Worth around 91.000 US dollars.
I hope that wasn't his entire bankroll in that one bet, even at 1.3X you still lose around 23% of the time

He did get a cool 27k dollars profit

I'll just leave this here...

--snip--
Damn that's a lot of ETH wagered this month and beating Primedice while you're at it Shocked
Where did you get that screenshot from btw?
2825  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin SmartWatch Face on: September 29, 2017, 01:25:35 PM
Definitely also add support for some of the better altcoins such as ETH, Litecoin, Dash, Monero,....
The screen is large enough to add arrows for switching currencies.

Is your a available for download? Do you plan on adding it to the play store?

It's out for Samsung Gear watch. It's only on the Samsung store right now but I'm working to get it into the Play store as well.

I got a little website (nothing special) http://www.bitcoinwatchface.com

feel free to leave feedback on the site as well. What kind of watches do you all have?

The website is pretty simple, but I think you don't need anything more unless you release another app for smartphone as well.

I have a Gear S2 myself btw, it would be nice if there could be some little indicators to see how the price is moving, perhaps a tiny graph if it's possible.

2826  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 dollars into a million on: September 29, 2017, 01:13:55 PM
Okay, let's say that you were lucky enough to pick out an altcoin that would increase X100.000 in value.
Would you even be able to keep yourself from selling once it went X10 or X100 in value? I don't think so, I probably couldn't wait myself to be honest.

Most people who got rich from Bitcoin is because they forgot about it for a couple of years and then found a few hundred coins on an old laptop or harddrive.

I don't think that many people could see their investment increase 100 fold and not be tempted to sell everything or at least some part of it.
2827  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: a new service is arising on: September 29, 2017, 11:39:21 AM
Hi bro,

Many thanks for your advice. Less is more. The simplicity is beautiful. Btc4url has not been done in 5 minutes, we are trying to get not-BTC guys on BTC. This is the deal. Any other comment or suggestion is more than welcome.
You at least need to put a decent explanation of your service on your website.
I don't really see what your website offers when I first visit it, so I don't really want to fill in the forms if I don't know why I'm supposed to do that.

You've got parts of a description coming onto the screen in a slideshow, but they're just snippets of information and they answer none of my questions.

How does the selling process work for example?

Can I see a list of content that's for sale?
2828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Offline Wallets Vs Online Wallets on: September 29, 2017, 10:42:48 AM
online and offline wallets have the same advantages and disadvantages, but I usually keep my coin savings in online wallets because I think it's safer.
I really hope that no new user reads this and thinks you're right...

Lol, how could you possibly think that online wallets are safer? You don't even have access to your own private keys in most cases  Roll Eyes
The service could shut down and the owners can in some cases run away with your Bitcoins.

This might be unlikely scenario's for services like Coinbase or blockchain.info, but there are other reasons you don't want to store your coins there.
2829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to participate in ICO's? on: September 29, 2017, 10:28:00 AM
The way you're describing it, it's definitely not safe at all. It sounds like you just pick several ICO's and hope that they'll be worth as much as Bitcoin soon.

You're much more likely to end up with nothing than to earn a lot with those investments if you do not pick the correct ICO's.
How should you even pick them? Even ICO's that look like they've got a good business plan or idea behind it can still fail, it's overall very risky.
2830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we own two bitcoins? on: September 29, 2017, 10:20:34 AM
To you guys who have owned Bitcoin for a while.

As long as you did not have your BitCoin on a bitcoin-stockexchange, during the split, you now have both BitCoin cash and Bitcoin core, right?

As long as you created your address on BitAddress, and then memorized the address in your head, on a paper or in cold storage, you now have both types of BitCoin, right?

Is there some other scenario in which you now only have one BitCoin, except for those who had their BitCoin on an exchange during the split?

If you have two BitCoins, how do you go about selling your BitCoins now? And how do you know if you are selling Bitcoin Core or Bitcoin Cash?

That has been the came question that has been going through my head for a while now, I have been wondering if we own two bitcoins, articles have been springing up from different sources on the web all telling about a new bitcoin cash
I think it is personal. Why would somebody tell you about his holding, that h you many bitcoin he has in his bitcoin wallet. It is I think just like that I asked from someone whom I don’t know that how much money you have in your bank account.

So I think this is irrelative question. I am holding more than one. What you think about this? Is this enough for my future, or I should buy more bitcoin.
Do you even know what this thread is about? Have you even properly read the topic and reply you're answering to or are you just posting some nonsense to increase your post count?

This thread is about Bitcoin cash, not about whether you have 2 Bitcoins or not. Everybody who had access to the private key of his wallet on the time of the split between Bitcoin & Bitcoin Cash received an amount of Bitcoin Cash equal to his amount of Bitcoin at the time of the split.

I really don't see how this could be that confusing for some people....
2831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gamblers here who are in Debt ? on: September 28, 2017, 06:10:23 PM
If anybody is in debt because of gambling the it's your fault and no one else, not the community and surely not the site you play but its basically because of lack of self control. When I hear people run into debt because of gambling, I just imagine how that is possible if there is self restraint.

I don't think I can get involved to the point of betting all that I have, and then still go out to borrow from people to still play. When someone do something like that, they should be sentenced to remand homes for the rest of their lives because they have not only fail themselves but also failed humanity and so they lose the morality to live among rational thinking individuals.
I think that's taking it way too far, science hasn't even figured out why some people get addicted while others do not.

You should have some sympathy for people who are suffering to addiction, I know they do a lot of damage to their environment and/or family, but I don't think it's 100% due to 'lack of self control'.

People should who are that addicted to gambling should have the chance to get treatment for their addiction and have a chance to recover and pay everything back or file for bankruptcy.

2833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I told my grandma to put all her lifesavings in Bitcoin because you guys said on: September 28, 2017, 11:39:10 AM
my father (80 years old) asked me about bitcoin but i wouldn't take responsibility to others money, especially family.. to earn from bitcoin you have to keep your eyes open and check it on a daily basis but good luck and finger crossed for us and your grandmother Smiley
I'm the same, many people have asked me to buy Bitcoin for them, but I always say that if they don't know how to buy it themselves, they shouldn't buy it.

I can give them advice on how to use Bitcoin, but I don't make claims on the future value or something like that.
I want no responsibility when someone loses his money.
2834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is interested in my betting tips? (football lays) on: September 28, 2017, 10:24:37 AM
I'm going to wait and see how this pans out, I'll try it out if your results are good after like 10 picks or so.
Good luck! I'll be following this thread.

Are you going to update this every day btw?
2835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another wall street idiot, this time, Jordan Belfort calls bitcoin a fraud. on: September 28, 2017, 10:19:35 AM
It's really pretty typical that Bitcoin is often bashed by people who don't seem to understand how Bitcoin works.

It's also possible to get hacked when you're online banking for example and the problem usually is due to user error regarding good security practices.

I'm sure that there will be other forms of crypto currencies that are going to be issued by banks or governments in the future, but I wouldn't be too sure if they would be able to top Bitcoin.
2836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Favourite coin so far on: September 27, 2017, 11:48:33 AM
I'm currently investing in Factom, because I believe in what the project stands for and I also think that it's currently undervalued.
They've been around since 2015 and have had a place in the top 50 on Coinmarketcap for ages.

Their project is still active and I would make a really nice profit if I sold everything now.
2837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can maths help you win in gambling ? on: September 27, 2017, 11:36:09 AM
This article doesn't state that you can win at roulette by using math, it says this at the end:

Quote
We can dress up the layout of the wheel, the layout of the betting cloth, our number selection and our money management system however we like, but the maths is always there, quietly working against us. You might as well just have fun, pick random numbers and trust to Lady Luck. Either that, or do as Einstein suggested and steal chips (not that we’d recommend it).

So no, it's not possible to win at roulette just by using math.

For other games it's possible, but keep in mind that casino's are doing everything in their power to prevent you from doing so.
I'm thinking of blackjack specifically, they have security measures in place to prevent you from counting cards. If they even suspect you're doing this, they can ban you from the casino.

For pvp games like poker, you can effectively use math to gain an edge over other players though.
2838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: State of the States on: September 27, 2017, 11:16:46 AM
I really doubt that we're going to see crashes like the ones back when MtGox went down the drain.
I've noticed different reactions to price drops, just like you mentioned, people see a drop in price more as an opportunity to get into Bitcoin or double down.

I could be wrong, but I'd be very surprised if we see a 2000 dollar price drop.
Also the price recovers much faster now then it did before.
2839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The hapiness of a green profit on: September 27, 2017, 09:42:38 AM
Over the past 2 years I've been down a little bit more than 2 Bitcoins, with around 50 Bitcoin wagered.
I don't think this is too bad, can't beat that house edge anyway and I've also had some pretty good wins.

This is just on one website though, on Crypto-Games you can see your all-time statistics.
I've also seen people who are up a couple of BTC after playing a year or so, they're certainly luckier than me Tongue
2840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: blockchain.info mobile wallet bug on: September 27, 2017, 09:10:27 AM
Without a transaction ID, we can't really say anything... I've not found someone who experienced something similar after a Google search.
Have you contacted blockchain.info support?

You still received the correct amount in the target wallet right? So it's just a visual bug on the app?

When you say: 'if i check in PC'. What do you mean by that? Their website or do you have a blockchain.info generated wallet imported in a desktop wallet?
