2821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: December 23, 2022, 11:11:18 AM
For something that has helped other industries reach their goal, why not sports betting AI is a technological breakthrough, especially in architecture, and medicine maybe just maybe AI is something that can help bookmakers to increase their prediction rate, we can speculate on something we are not aware of.
But if you Google information about AI's role in sports betting there are positive results, so why not try something that has huge potential in the sports betting industry?

Sure we can but OP was referring to ChatGPT specificly and that's pointless to use as ChatGPT latest training data cutoff is September 2021. There's no recent data for it to analyze. Meaning it couldn't count in any variations on player health, new players, new coaches etc. Nor any public AI is going to take a risk to give financial advices in for of guesswork.

There's a reason why influencers are saying that "this is not a financial advice" or are required to tell if they get paid in altcoins to speak about altcoins.
And even those accounts can be sued and kicked from twitter. Imagine how much risk can billion dollar (or what ever it's worth) company can avoid just by not giving gambling predictions.
2822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX collapse: Good or bad for crypto in the long run? on: December 22, 2022, 11:58:25 PM
Regulations will be inevitable, especially with the recent unfortunate events surrounding the crypto/Blockchain industry. The FTX collapse and the Terra/LUNA implosion will be the perfect excuse for mainstream governments (especially the US) to treat crypto with an iron fist. While this should make the space much more legitimate in the eyes of traders and investors alike, it certainly goes against what Satoshi established in the first place (which is achieving decentralization by eliminating the middleman).

I'm afraid people are going to have a hard time getting access to crypto without revealing their true identities. Most of them won't care because they have nothing to hide. But you and I know this will bring us back to the era of banks. Let's see how everything will turn out to be for crypto/Blockchain tech within a decade from now. Just my thoughts Grin
Regulations for crypto were planned long before FTX collapse. Timing for it makes a lot of people blame fall of FTX for sure. But if more people would read about it, they could have prepared for it.
Prepared because there's really nothing we can do to avoid regulations. Nor that i would even want to do that. I am way more for regulations then going back to that unregulated era of scams.

-cut-
Either this team is very stupid and they just tried wash trading operation without understanding that everything a traceable.
Of they most likely just made an illegal sale of securities and get fined for it in the future. Then again it could be both. Or something more worse, after all this is Team Trump we are talking about.
2824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT ?? What do you think about it ? ? ? on: December 22, 2022, 11:45:30 PM
Not that I support it, or find it actually worth a lot. But, the idea is not that is is a good image, or a masterpiece, or even art but more about the fact that it is unique and rare. I know that it makes no sense to many people, it makes no sense to me neither but at least we should know why some people value it so high before we could be shocked by it as well.

The point of this image is not the fact that it is looking good, it is the fact that even if you use it, you are not the owner and NFT makes sure there is a real owner, and that means its very very unique, and even though I think it doesn't worth $11, I find it quite understandable if they really truly believe it.
Not only unique and rare but a part of culture history. The fact that so many celebrities were talking about them makes the case of "part of history" even stronger. And people want to own parts of history. They are usually physical things but that will change in the future when buying rights to something doesn't require physical paper for it.

It's the same reason why bitcoin would have some value even if it gets totally banned from every CEX.
2825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC classified FTT token as a security on: December 22, 2022, 11:30:06 PM
-cut-
Could this decision have an impact on similar tokens, given that almost every exchange issues its own tokens?
-cut-
No, that's not how it works, it isn't a security because it's an exchange token. There are either irregularities during sale phase or marketing. On these things it's essential what sales people say, what sort of marketing there was etc. Token doesn't need to provide dividends or other income to be a security. All that needs is a promise of providing income in some point. There have been many icos in the past that have talked about the price and the markets and they have been charged of being securities later or will be some day when sec has time for it.
2826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about these hyped projects for 2023? on: December 22, 2022, 11:16:05 PM
I think Apecoin will start to face its drop and will be out on the top ranking because of what its major project BAYC might face against SEC.
Just take it for example when XRP faced a lawsuit by SEC, even if we've been through the bull run, XRP stayed stagnant and never broke back to its former ATH. And that's why I think Apecoin will also have the same fate if this thing against SEC and its main project BAYC will not be solved.
If that would pass and SEC ruled that Bored apes would be securities, it would blow my mind. Because that would mean that most likely every nft project would be security. Well maybe not free mints like crypto punks but most of them anyway. And it would be even more stupid then ruling that pokemon cards are securities.

I haven't seen any BAYC advertisement during the sale where they would even hint that there would be profits or that this would be a way about making money and that's what SEC is looking for.
Imho they started from a wrong project. There are ton of questionable nft sales out there that wouldn't need as much research.

For what it comes to OPs list:

Quote
3. ApeCoin (APE)
A wild card. I have been seriously thinking of buying this. People who buy BAYCs are rich. They would also buy apecoin depending on the utility of it. And when they buy they buy a lot.

Quote
5. The Graph (GRT)
6. NEAR Protocol (NEAR)
These are on my list too. Some coders that i respect hinted me about graph when it came but i never got around of hodling it.
2827  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: December 22, 2022, 10:55:13 PM
-cut-
I have a message for Drake in his function as partner of the online crypto coin casino Stake.com
As the partner of an online crypto coin casino you need to be reachable, because you can be liable for what the casino is doing.
It is up to him if he will answer to my message, but he needs to receive my important message.
Demanding attention from a celebrity is seriously next level entitled behaviour. Why would he need to be reachable? Does every celebrity that do partnerships would need to be reachable by random people from the internet? Do you know how much fan posts they don't read because they don't have time?

If they get connected it happens trought their people and those people tend to filter posts from random people.
If you think some celebrity are liable, reaching them happens trough proper officials. They don't need to read every tweet, dm or email from random people. For the same reasons they don't give their phone numbers to everyone.

But good luck with your effort.
2828  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sam Bankman-Fried Arrested In The Bahamas, Set For 'Prompt' Extradition After US on: December 22, 2022, 10:42:13 PM
SBF gets 250 MILLION USD bail: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/22/business/sam-bankman-fried-ftx-bail.html

Conditions of the bail: Confined to his parents home, passport revoked, banned from flying, is under constant monitoring through an ankle bracelet monitor.

SBF claims to have 100k USD in his bank account, but he has access to 250M in capital to post his bail. This is the largest pretrial bail ever posted in history. One might ponder as to how this clown who claims to be broke is able to secure funds for bail. Seems like his parents posted the bail using property as collateral, and we already know his parents got a lot of the FTX money funnel to them through extravagant purchases.

Maybe his parents should be investigated too.
They probably are being investigated right now as investigators are looking for bllions that disappeared, they have to count pretty much everything that left ftx at some point. It would be interesting to know how much money SBH parents got from FTX if they can afford that bail.

But this is going to be an interesting trial with ton of unheard testimonies from witnesses, and FTX and Alameda Research. Who knows what we will hear. I am sort of hoping it will be televised. Could be even more intriguing then Johnny Depp in court.
2829  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|🎁Welcome Pack on BetFury| 💸300 Free Spins + 150% Deposit Bonus on: December 22, 2022, 10:24:01 PM
VPN's are allowed on Betfury, also if you are from a region that is denied, you can still access and play on the site using a VPN. This has been confirmed multiple times in this topic and also by livechat. No idea how to delete your user account; probably live chat will be able to help you further.
Could i have the exact wording and who exactly said this. Because if team adviced to do that, that's a huge red flag of luring in potential victims.

Only tactic from their side that made sense to say something like this about VPNs would be that if you get caught when they ask for kyc, they can legally just confiscate your money as it would be your fault not reading the ToS where that country wasn't allowed in to begin with.
2830  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Universities promote violence on: December 21, 2022, 09:33:33 PM
Western universities are a breeding point of woke/cancel culture and leftist ideology. Are they promoting violence? Well maybe not the physical form. But Jordan Peterson was forced to resign not just because they attacked him, but also his students to the point he was afraid they might have harder time getting job later. So it's a systematic pandemic of woke culture that is definitely aggressive and violent.
Woke culture? I didn't have a excepect that answers would outcrazy OP, which is a hard thing to do.

But i guess i am happy member of woke culture then, Because if you don't know that DeSantis's laywers were ordered to define "Woke" in the court as they were using it very loosely.
They defined woke as:
Quote
"belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them.”
So i am guessing anyone against woke is against that then.

2831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: December 21, 2022, 09:21:03 PM
Then what's your solution to stop all this mess? Can you do something to stop the cultural activities that are legal in a country?
Don't act like that as in a country where cock fight is legal and many people support it, it will just continue.
Rather than stress yourself on how to stop it, you can just easily and simply ignore it.
You get same advice from nearly any country that has any injustices to correct, they could be injustice against humans or other animals. And that is to talk about it. Talk about it with your representatives, keep the conversation alive. Governments allowing this get more heat and incentives to act. Also organized boycots are one way to make a difference, to make them listen.

These things move very slowly. And it's up to all of us. More people will join, faster changes happen.
2832  Economy / Economics / Re: Texts exchanged by Binance CEO and Sam Bankman-Fried as FTX collapsed on: December 21, 2022, 09:02:59 PM
one swap of $250k wont do damage as a single trade

but negative arbitrage that same $250k at a 0.1% loss per round means you can generate thousands of arbitrage rounds of millions in volume.

EG
1. $250k for 249,750sc
1. 249,750sc $249.5k
repeat thousand times
Yeah but did he do anything like that or is that speculation? I didn't see anything from the text hinting that he was. Even CZ admitted that what sam was doing wouldn't crash USDT but it could "cause problems".
Also if he did, it would be included in charges as blatant market manipulation. Or trying it (if that's a crime).
2833  Economy / Economics / Re: California and the Midwest face ‘high risk’ of electricity shortages on: December 21, 2022, 08:49:46 PM
Rather, they are operating under a socialist political economy, like Carter's, who told people that if they were cold in the winter, what they had to do was cover themselves with a blanket.

As soon as someone comes into office who lowers taxes and removes regulations, energy production will return to that of a first world country.

Lol, USA is so far from socialism that even mentioning the word gets them heated up. Anything that isn't Anarcho-capitalism seems to be socialism so maybe you need to chek what those words mean.
And removing regulations? You got to be kidding. Good luck with that, it would take 2 weeks until you would have total mad max anarchy and you would need to have another civil war just to build it all again
And how would power shortages have anything to do with socialist democracy politics?
2834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the alternative of AML/KYC Document (POA/POSF) ? on: December 21, 2022, 08:35:58 PM

Usually places asking for kyc have a policy for self employed people. As freelancers should pay taxes too so they need to have a sheet where they put their yearly income, so you should have something.

Also at least where i live i can get a proof of address from government from the place that has all the addresses of the citizens so they can send official papers to them. In here it's called digital and population data services agency.

But in here you have to ask for it and it costs something like $10 to get it in print with a official stamp.
2835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy more ETH after reading this ? on: December 21, 2022, 08:24:13 PM
History doesn't need to repeat itself, but it's one of the main things we use to seek patterns in charts. However tokenomics of ETH have changed radically so those charts don't really apply.
Only thing we can count on is that people will keep building on ETH 2.0 and it will be used a lot. But game theory of fees vs incentives needs to be tested for a while so we can see what's the price that stakers are willing to sell with. But low cost in fees in the future probably decreases prices as people don't need it as much for fees to use smart contracts. transactions etc.
2836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Paxful delisted ETH? on: December 21, 2022, 08:16:48 PM
Why or what do you mean by this word?  Will there be any negative impact on the Ethereum market in the sudden delisting of Ethereum?
So the CEO is Proof of Work maximalist. This has no impact on Ethereum what so ever. Only gimmick i like in paxful that you can buy crypto directly with steam gift catds and amazon cards, but it's not the only place to do that.

But will it portend another event like FTX's bankruptcy?
This case has zero similarities with FTX.

Only thing what i am wondering is that are they going to delist USDT and USDC as well and only leave Bitcoin for sale? If not they are being kind of hypocrites.

2838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Bearish market the right time to buy coins? on: December 21, 2022, 08:14:54 AM
There's 2 ways to look at it.

1. Why wouldn't you buy your favorite coins with discount? You can get more of them with same amount of dollars. They are eventually (supposedly) going up again so you don' t need to worry. This is how whales get their alts, they buy when others are scared.

2. You buy 10k of those your favorite coins costing now only 1$ per coin, Half of the ATH price ($2), so it's cheap. But next day price drops -30% because it's early days in bear market and everything happens fast. So only if you waited a bit you could have afforded 13k.

Sure, price will go up but when? This could be one of those bear markets that take years.

You decide to throw in another $10k because it would be stupid not to buy now so now you have a 23k of your favorite coins. What a genius move but you are also soon out of money to invest.

At this price you see people selling and you call them insane, as who would want to sell in loss, basically free tokens.

Cut to a year from now in the future, price has dropped another -90% so -96.5% from ath and -93% where you first spend your 10k, and -90% where you bought even cheaper. Your whole investment that cost $20K total is worth $1700 now and your original investment of $20k would now buy you 285,714 of your favorite coins. So why didn't you wait? Because no one knows where the bottom is going to be and price can always drop -90% from here too.

And about it going up. Going up to ath ($2) from -96.5% loss requires over %2757 percent growth. So good luck waiting for that.

2839  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance lots of FUD on: December 21, 2022, 07:02:22 AM
It's defintely and ABSOLUTELY going to be the best decision for plebs to withdraw ALL of their Bitcoins from exchanges because,
1. There's nothing to trade, we are in a bear market
2. Because we are in a bear market, it's risky holding anything in a centralized entity
Buy your Bitcoin, and withdraw immediately to your custody and HODL.
You have to explain nr 1, because to me, trading is the ONLY way to make money in bear market, in bull market it's easy as you only need to buy and hodl. Also shorting can be highly profitable during bear market if you have stop limits and other security measurements in place

Nr2 i agree with. But i don't think it's as much during bear market, but bear market being triggered by a big fallen exchange. But usually failed exchange just creates a dip depending how big it was..
2840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I be worried? on: December 20, 2022, 11:57:04 PM
Once upon a time I used to be into everything that has everything to do with Artificial Intelligence and I was happy that some blockchain projects are into A.I but they never seem to get better adoption, A.I is something g the world wants but it just seem too early, now I've give up on crypto / blockchain A.I projects but now

What about Metaverse? Will this use case faces the same fate? I am worried that we are too haste into the future like we won't be needing this until some several years later, is this something to be worried about?
Few questions:
What exactly are you worried about?
Have you invested into AI and Metaverse?
And if so to what exactly.

Both of these contain huge spectrum of different projects and different ways to build them.

You talk about AI blockchain adoption, so ask yourself, why would AI NEED a blockchain when it's still very much experimental field and will be so for a long time. All the succesful AI projects right now require huge companies and fast data processing, so why would decentralized ledger do anything for it? And what kind of AI are we talking about?

What comes to metaverse, it's a buzz word. Some of us remember similar buzz about virtual reality, and this has similar feel to it. Tech is not yet good enough for it being meaningful. And the fact that they try to force not polished projects on this virtual sandbox seems just cringe and lame. The idea of metaverse is good, but we are still decade a way to even know how to implement it in a way the gui seems intuitive.
