2821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 28, 2022, 01:35:20 PM
@Jating, no words yet on the real score between MP Promotion and Casimero but as per Sean Gibbons' words that they are open for Casimero to go back to them, then i think Quadro Alas is not with them anymore.

Last news i've read is that Casimero has signed up with Probellum, i just don't know if this is long term or just this fight with Butler.

Yeah, that's the last thing that I've heard as well, and I was really surprised that he dump MP and Sean Gibbons to move to Probellum.

And now that we have this news that it was not totally settled with MP, maybe it will give problems for Casimero in the future. But maybe there is no communication, a simple call to Sean Gibbons might settle everything once and for all and Casimero can move on to Probellum if he wanted.

I hope everything will be fixed, Casimero is still at the peak of his career and he could not afford to lose a good promoter that will handle his future fights. He is a Filipino champion, it's just right that he should work on MP, but if his decision is to look for a better opportunity, hopefully things will not messed up.
It's just weird though, I mean Casimero for all we know has been taken care of Manny with his promotional company. What could be reason for Casimero to switch promotions to Probellum? Is there is sweet offer for him? Things like this might be a a make or break for Casimero as you have said he is on the peak of his career and hoping that Probellum will give him a better opportunity than what MP promotions could offer, money and fight wise.
2822  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin collapse or mature? on: January 28, 2022, 12:53:09 PM
I still believe and remain optimistic that bitcoin will remain strong and so far the bitcoin community is still doing well so people still believe that the bitcoin platform can still be trusted by the public.
As long as people still believe in bitcoin, bitcoin will continue to grow and develop no matter what circumstances shake the current bitcoin price.
It is not the bitcoin itself but its us or the community rather . if we are strong , bitcoin can also feel the same.
Right now, we are in the situation where btc is crashing and it so sad that a portion of the community looses their hope already by selling their precious bitcoins. They sell it for cash or the things they want and what is worst is they buy coins that I can say not really important, just because they see those coins are now doing well but that can only be temporary. Bitcoin does collapse but it rebuilds again in a much stronger and better version of it self, that makes bitcoin to become matured when compared to the other cryptocurrencies.
Those that losses hope in btc is not a true believer, maybe they are just in to make money during a bull run. But when things goes to worst, some of them exited and maybe shift their money to shitcoins (worst decision).

But for those who decided to remain, for sure we will be rewarded soon, it might take years before we might see a good profit though. However, it's time to accumulate again and then just hold, simple formula and yet very effective.
2823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A crash is also a chance to change allocations of your coins on: January 28, 2022, 12:29:11 PM
Interesting idea, I haven't really thought of that yet. Changing our portfolio positions can help to be in a better shape for the next rally. Most of my money is in BTC and ETH, I am not going to sell these. But shifting around alt coins is a good idea. Some of us might be scared to sell coins at a loss, but it also has advantages. Holding a coin until it turns green again is an option, just not the best option. Switching into more profitable projects means we are going to make higher return in the next rally. Another advantage of selling a coin at a loss is that we get a tax right off for future gains, the money we lost on one trade we can get back from saving taxes on our next trade. Changing allocations into stronger crypto coins is a good recommendation.
I think this is what the more experienced traders or investors are doing shifting and moving their funds to a more secure or at least coins that will give them money even in a bear market.

The only thing right now is that it is hard to identify which one we shift though, because we all know how volatile the market is. So it will really take a lot of practice and maybe some money lost along the way. But it is a valuable lessons and it will harden you up specially in a situation we are in right now, a bear market.
2824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 28, 2022, 11:36:41 AM
Let's first see who he'll play against, personally he would be a favorite against Tsitsipas but not against Medvedev.
Should be a good match coming up, I expect a big battle and at least 4 sets. I went with less greedy Tsitsipas to take set bet after I lost my over bet on Nadal. I blame Berrettini for that one, he should have gotten to tie break in at least one set. Tsitsipas really grew trough the tournament and if he continues like that I expect him to even win. But we all know how it finished last year, 3:0 for Medvedev so hopefully revenge time.

I think as others have expected including myself, it will be Nadal vs Medvedev in the finals. Medvedev is leading the 4th set, 4-1, and won sets 1 and 3. And for sure he will want to close out Tsitsipas in this set so that he won't give him a chance. Otherwise a 5th and deciding set will be needed and it will just extend Medvedev again. So there is no revenge for Tsitsipas unfortunately.
Yep, Medvedev just blow Tsitsipas in the 4th set, it was quick and swift, 6-1 score.

So there we have it, Nadal vs Medvedev now, and then we have Barty vs Collins in the women's side.
No odds yet for Nadal vs Medvedev, but I'm thinking that Nadal will be the slight favorite when the betting lines is open. This is going to be a tough match, but I'm seeing Nadal might win this year in a 5 set marathon match.
2825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: January 28, 2022, 11:12:39 AM
Our body does really deteriorates which is inevitable and this is where people or athletes would be considering on retiring because they do know that they are already out of their prime and these postponement and delays due to health issues or global problems we are facing now is indeed a big pain in the ass for most athletes which is getting older. The longer that they wouldnt able to fight even if they do maintain out their body
then there would be always that degradation in terms of performance and overall capability which wont really be the same into those times that they were younger.Hopefully that this one would
really push through for this year and wont be waiting up for another one.

That's why as a boxing fighter this is one of the considerations that they need to prioritize because let's say even if they still have the willingness to fight however their body strength is not cooperating already and for me, that's alarming because they may be possible get injured or get the worst injury. So whether they like it or not they should consider it but I guess GGG and Ryota's age are just a 3 years age gap and based on their present age they still have the good strength to give a fan a good fight. On top of that, I am excited to see them inside the ring.
This is what we call father call, when it calls, it hard to go against it. But I think GGG can still fight at 40's though, might lose some power but still he can fight. So hopefully this fight can still push through this year. Murata is not an easy opponent for him and for sure he will be tested. But I think GGG can win the fight and maybe can score a knock out if it presents itself in the fight.
2826  Economy / Economics / Re: One nation one currency... on: January 28, 2022, 09:30:27 AM
From the beginning of humans, we have created boundaries between ourselves by lots of conflict over the century. Our greediness and eagerness for more power make us intelligent animals. Humans are capable of their own destruction. But what if those never happen? what will be the scenario of the current world if there is only one nation and one currency and humans invest their full strength for human resource development and the development of science and technology? What do you think is that even possible in the future and what will be the benefits and inconvenience of it?
Sad to say there is no perfect world, and since time immemorial, there is conflicts in human history. So I doubt that there will be singularity in the world, and that one nation, one currency wouldn't happen unless there is some high being intervention (but this is from the realm of imagination). So to answer your questions, NO, it is not possible, and obviously there will be no benefits whatsoever.
2827  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why putin choose winter? on: January 27, 2022, 02:29:02 PM
We all know that there is tension on the Russia-Ukraine border. I am not going to talk about why this is happening, I think most of us already know that.

Maybe this is the right time for Putin to play with Ukraine. Because the price of fuel in the world market is skyrocketing. Gas prices in Europe have risen by 600%. It is now wintering in Europe. Heaters/burners are needed to survive in ice-covered Europe. That is why the demand for gas is the highest.

And 40% of Europe's gas demand comes from Russia. And now if Russia cuts off gas supplies, the economies of European countries will come to a standstill. One power plant after another, the factory will be closed. So the big countries of Europe will think twice before taking a tough stand against Russia.

Putin is a master planner or going to face heavy sanctions from the EU?
If he is not a master planner, then perhaps he should no longer be in power right?

So he knows that he is doing, maybe everything is carefully crafted by himself alone. So the timing itself is perfect. But in any case though, I think EU is hell bent on stopping Putin so for sure they will make their move and have a Plan B here. So right now, Putin and UE are playing a chess match and let's see who is going to win.
2828  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis: Australian Open 2022 on: January 27, 2022, 01:53:55 PM
I agree, I think this is more likely a Nadal vs Medvedev in the finals for this year.

No offense to both Berrettini and Tsitsipas they deserved to be in the finals. However, facing Nadal and the second seed Medvedev and defeating them is most likely a long shot as both are really playing very well although Nadal was extended to 5 sets last match and Medvedev needed to come back from a 0-2 deficit against Felix AA. But both of them won their respectively match and will be the favorite against Berrettini and Tsitsipas.
2829  Economy / Speculation / Re: SEC delays decision on ETF again, Vaneck, SolidX withdraw proposal on: January 27, 2022, 01:22:39 PM
It seems to me like the SEC is doing their best to try and smooth out the peaks and valleys of the Bitcoin market.  The move to introduce futures before a spot ETF appeared to me to be a move to try and put a cap on the 4-year bubble cycle.  Now they appear to be trying to line up the spot ETF approvals with the mtgox funds hitting the market.  I think they're trying to get that 200,000 BTC that will hit the market absorbed by ETF investors.  While I'd always prefer a free market without manipulation, I can understand why those in control want to minimize any damage caused by potential volatility.  I just hope the ETF hits first so we get a little bubble to play in.  Smiley
Yes, and with that, I don't think we will get any approval soon, since we are already in a bear market. For sure they know that they can influence the market with they approved the ETF, so with the current state of the market, much better if they are going to delay it for years. Again, there could be argument that we don't need ETF's right?
2830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 27, 2022, 12:39:49 PM
I thought Medvedev was done after going 2 sets behind. Nice to see he's growing stronger in the mental aspect of the game, that was his weakest point so far.

Tsitsipas was really dominant against Sinner but I feel Medvedev is a better player. Tsitsipas will want to prove that he's better than what we saw here last year.
Yeah, I thought that game is over and he is done in this tournament. But to my surprised and checking the score after, he won the last 3 sets, and felt bad for Felix AA because in the 3rd set he really has a chance to close it out. Berrettini and Nadal will be tomorrow if I'm not mistaken, it seems that they take a days off today and let the players rested. So we will see, I'm still on the Nadal bandwagon right now, he has a good chance to win the AO for this year.
2831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too! on: January 26, 2022, 12:57:23 PM
Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!
I applauded you for holding that long, personally, the longest that I've been holding btc is 3 years until I sold some because of personal reasons last April-May of 2021. But I know that it is doable, I have stocks that I have been holding for 9 years already and still not thinking of selling them for the next 9 years.

And yes, if you can do it, then others can, but it will really take a lot of mental toughness and discipline in your end.
2832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The bull is back? on: January 26, 2022, 12:05:39 PM
I feel like it's just a bull trap. Let's see next week. Viewed from some charts that have not shown a strong bullish signal so there is a possibility that the price will still fall. But it looks like bullrun will also arrive this year. That's our hope.
Everyone's hope is for the next Bullish this year, but it will also not happen quickly because it always takes time slowly for each increase that will occur in all coins, so patience is needed in waiting while monitoring it as well.
We need to have more patience this year as the bull run will not come as easy as we think and maybe this situation will be like this for some time. But we can feel happy now as the price increases and goes back to $37k which means we are back to profit. This week gives a chance for bitcoin and altcoin to increase more after the correction a few days ago so we should have a hope that bitcoin and altcoin will rise at the right time.
Yes, a bounce to $38k is not that bad in the market, and hopefully this could be maintain at least at the end of the year so that we are green.

Anyhow, I still feel that we are in a bear market already, but with this kind of movement, we can make profits even at bear cycle. Just imagine buying at $33k and then selling at $38k, that's a profit already. But if you wanted to hold then nothing is wrong with that as well. But as I have said, for me this is a bear market and take every opportunity to make money.
2833  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2022 bear market? on: January 26, 2022, 11:27:26 AM
The price is already on a decline after hitting a ATH last November, and for sure the bear market might take over this 2022. I know the feeling though, it's really hard to see the price going down but we can't do anything but to prepare for the worst.
Maybe this first quarter alone might be a good gauge and know if we are really in a bear market or not or if there could be some surprise and we might bounce back. So we will have to see but expect the worst.
Has there been a change in the fundamentals of the crypto world? Is bitcoin not what it is a few months ago? Is there any big bad code faulting going around? No? Then we should not be worried about anything at all right now.
Even at bear market, the fundamentals are not going to change, it is the sentiments that affects the price.

We had China attacking bitcoin, we had Elon pump and dumping, we had second largest mining nation having a civil war going on, we had so many bad things in the news regarding crypto, the fact that inflation is now high in most major nations and people can find other means for investment also didn't help neither. So, crypto is still great, and it will still break the ATH price eventually, we just had a bad stretch, that's it.
Yeah, but you can't deny that these factors have really affected the price negatively right? From all time high of $69k so now at $37k. So price perspective is bad and admit it or not, the market is really on a bad shape and we are in a bear market.
2834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 26, 2022, 09:45:59 AM
There is not much time left for the Brooklyn Nets - Los Angeles Lakers to be underway. I wonder what Nets will do without Irving and Harden both in this game. Harden will have to do the most of the job but I hope that they have a good teamplay. Otherwise, it doesn't seem likely that they can win this game. Actually, Lakers are also carried by Lebron most of the time but sometimes Westbrook are contributing really big too. They really feel Davis' absence now but he seems to be back from his injury. If he plays also, then maybe they could manage to win this game.
I guess we have the answer now, without Durant and Irving, Harden has difficulty carrying the team. And then Lebron had a good game and some players already step up and give Lebron some help. I think winning against the Nets might give Lakers some boost of confidence. I know the Nets are not complete, but the Lakers needed some win and it's on the expense of a top team.
2835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 26, 2022, 09:20:31 AM
@Yaunfitda yeah managed to tune in a little but work's a bit tough on Mondays so I'm going to have to wait till a bit later to see if I can catch it, but hopefully Tsitsi gets out of this intact before then.
Yep, it's a lot of work, but I still managed and won on the Tsitsipas match.

Got to see the match between Monfils and Berrettini because I put and roll the money on him from the Tsitsipas win, -2.5 at 1.87. He won comfortably the first set 6-4, but still a lot of work to do for him as Monfils is not an easy opponent.

Too bad with your Monfils vs Berrettini bet, it was very close and the handicapped is just -2.

On the women's side we might see some upset?

Kanepi winning the first set against Swiatek, just the start of the second set though, but Swiatek needs to play perfect from here to get back and win the match.

Madison Keys vs Barty on the first semis tomorrow.
Yeah, I know, it was really close up to the last set. Great chances for me to win my win, unfortunately, it was just 1 point.

Surprising results from the Tsitsipas vs Sinner game. I thought that this could be at least 4 to 5 setter, but Tsitsipas completely demolished Sinner in straight sets.

I'll pass on the match between Medvedev vs FAA for now. Be back tomorrow for Nadal vs Berrettini.
2836  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC has crossed $43k what's next? on: January 25, 2022, 04:51:05 PM
And just exactly 2 weeks after creating this thread, $43k->$32k down ward spiral. Although we have a slight bounce in the last 24 hours and now peaking at $36k.

But still in matter or weeks a $10k dropped, I think we are in the average of a bear market, until we hit the bottom. The question remains, what is the bottom for this bear market? Others speculating that it could be in the mid $20k, but others are looking for a bit lower than that.
2837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Amir Khan vs Kell Brook - Feb 19, 2022 on: January 25, 2022, 03:01:42 PM
It seems that this is kinda late right?

Both of them are way past their primes already, they should have fought when at least they can still pull the trigger. But when Brook fought GGG and lost and broke his orbital bone and then Khan knock the hell out by Canelo, I would say that after that, both are wash up already. Maybe Khan has lost his speed already and we all know that he has a glass chin. So I will go with Kell Brook here, not sure if he can get a knock out, may stoppage late like in 10-11 rounds.

Stil hype though specially for British boxing as this two is domestic rivals and for sure still have fans in UK that bought their tickets.

Both boxers have entered the final years of their careers, this will be a pretty fierce fight and can be said to be the last fight of the two boxers, especially Amir Khan who is planning to retire, the fight will be held on February 19 and both boxers still have plenty of time to play prepare their stamina now, as a person from asia of course I will support amir khan in the match and hope he can get a knockout win before retiring from boxing world.

This looks like an exhibition fight for me, but they are willing to fight, so let's give them a chance, and hopefully they'll entertain us. I can feel that someone would go down in this fight, and if Amik Khan will show his chin, then it could be him. Kell Brook lose to Terence Crawford via TKO in this last fight, but Amir Khan is not Terence Crawford, so he still have a good chance although he is an underdog here.
Exactly, this is my thoughts on the fight, this could be considered as an exhibition because both of them are no longer on their prime years.

But they are about to make a lot of money here because this is a long awaited match that many fans have been calling. At least we are going to see that two of them in the ring as they have been talking trash for many years.
2838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bullish Scenario - Minimum will reach $75000 on: January 25, 2022, 01:52:22 PM
I think a bullish bitcoin scenario will occur in this year to reach the target price of $75000. Although the bitcoin market is still tending to be depressed since the beginning of December 20221 until now after a sharp sell-off. However, I think as early as 2022 now, I predict that Bitcoin price will appear to be on an upward trajectory of up to $100,000 at least in Q1 2022. Therefore we expect at the start of this new year, bitcoin price to rebound again.

Everyone wanted the price to rebound again, unfortunately, at the start of the year, the bullish market is but all gone now and has been replace by the bearish market. And I tend to agree that history might repeat itself again, like 2018 wherein it is the start of a long and bearish cycle after hitting $20k as ath. Sorry to burst the bubble but I disagree with you, it will be very difficult to rebound and reach a upward trajectory of $100K.

if we look at the past years we can see that the price has the problem of falling at the beginning of the months, this system has been like this for years. so this should come as no surprise to anyone, over the forecast of 75000$ I still think we need to wait and see what the price direction will be in the next few days or weeks. if we were above 50,000$ at least then we could talk about 75,000$
That's what I'm been telling since last year, even before we went into this down ward spiral. I said that if we can't maintain the price above $50k then we might be in for bear market.

And that's what happened, the price seems to have a resistance climbing to $50k in December. And on the contrary, it fall hard below $50k. And it continue to do so at the start of the year and even hit $32k if I'm not mistaken.
2839  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy low, Sell high? on: January 25, 2022, 01:11:30 PM
It's hard to decide our personal entry price, but we can do some analysis to decide that. If the price keeps falling then just put more money until you dont have any cold money that you can use for investment so just wait for something big to happen. There's no guarantee that the price will get it's ATH next year or even this year the thing that we can do is just believe the price will reach a new ATH someday.
Some of the analysis done will indeed help to where our limit is to buy, but it all depends on the market, if the decline continues and BTC support continues to be broken, then the $30k price area will be able to be passed.
at this time if you have a lot of spare money will be very useful and can buy at a cheaper price. Yet some of us have already put all the cold cash on some altcoins that are experiencing major declines. Reaching new ATH or not this year we can only wait for the bear market to end.
The market has fall deeper so this is  a good opportunity to start buying at a low price not just for popular altcoins, but definitely more on bitcoin as its always the first to make a price surge. While others see this as a good opportunity to enter the market, others are also feeling fear and panic because they are fool enough that this is the end of crypto and losses are coming their way. When in fact, they will only lose if they start selling at a low price.
I still prefer bitcoin over some altcoins though, we all know how solid bitcoin is, even at bear market when they are cheap you can buy them and hold for a long time and knows that you can get a good profit out of it. As compare to altcoin wherein you are not sure if you will get a decent profit in the future.

As for the buy low sell high, well this old age saying is true not just in bitcoin market but in all traditional financial market and still holds true.
2840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 25, 2022, 12:24:32 PM
Preparation is the key here for both boxers. Thurman is the favorite by bookies.
But yes, upset can happen to any boxer. Just look at the recent Russell vs Magsayo match.
So now, we will see how prepared both of them when they are inside the ring.
We don't know what kind of training and strategies are they preparing for this fight.
But I may favor Thurman here to be the winner of his comeback fight.

Even in any fighter preparation is definitely one of their keys to successfully winning their fights. I do hope Thurman have had fully recovered from his injury and yeah he is also my bet in this upcoming fight not just because he is the favorite by the bookies but also because this man is a good fighter. May this upcoming fight be his good comeback fight though I can't set aside that Barrios is such a good fighter too and probably this man did his best also to prepare for this fight.

What was the injury you are talking about? I can't remember about his injury after he fought Pacman, I think he looks great on Pacman's fight, it's just that Pacman did better so he won via split decision. What Thurman needs going to his fight is a proper training, he has the skills and talent already, he just need to condition himself to win.
The only injury I had remember with Thurman after the Pacquiao fight is in his hand. That's one reason why he went out after that lost to Manny to get his hands operate and let it fully heal as we all know that our bones in our hands are brittle.

There are even news that he has rib injury as well weeks before the Manny fight that's why when Manny hits him in the side and in the body, Thurman is affecting and you can see because he backs up and then started to cover his stomach.

Thanks, that's a clear explanation, now I know why he was out for awhile. Well, now that he is back, I expect that he is fully healed and he can be his old self again. Thurman is going to reclaim his popular status, losing against Pacman, a legend isn't that bad because it was a close one, but if he still loses here, then I think it will be hard for him to become a champ again.
True, we can give him a pass on losing against Pacman, Manny was a legend and maybe it was Manny's night to win against Thurman because he still has it that time.

So no excuse for Thurman if he losses against Barrios, nothing against Barrios but we all know that he lost against a 140 lbs in Tank Davis and that is not even Tank's weight class. And now he try to move up and face one true legit Welterweight in Thurman.
