2821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 25, 2022, 12:24:32 PM
Preparation is the key here for both boxers. Thurman is the favorite by bookies.
But yes, upset can happen to any boxer. Just look at the recent Russell vs Magsayo match.
So now, we will see how prepared both of them when they are inside the ring.
We don't know what kind of training and strategies are they preparing for this fight.
But I may favor Thurman here to be the winner of his comeback fight.

Even in any fighter preparation is definitely one of their keys to successfully winning their fights. I do hope Thurman have had fully recovered from his injury and yeah he is also my bet in this upcoming fight not just because he is the favorite by the bookies but also because this man is a good fighter. May this upcoming fight be his good comeback fight though I can't set aside that Barrios is such a good fighter too and probably this man did his best also to prepare for this fight.

What was the injury you are talking about? I can't remember about his injury after he fought Pacman, I think he looks great on Pacman's fight, it's just that Pacman did better so he won via split decision. What Thurman needs going to his fight is a proper training, he has the skills and talent already, he just need to condition himself to win.
The only injury I had remember with Thurman after the Pacquiao fight is in his hand. That's one reason why he went out after that lost to Manny to get his hands operate and let it fully heal as we all know that our bones in our hands are brittle.

There are even news that he has rib injury as well weeks before the Manny fight that's why when Manny hits him in the side and in the body, Thurman is affecting and you can see because he backs up and then started to cover his stomach.

Thanks, that's a clear explanation, now I know why he was out for awhile. Well, now that he is back, I expect that he is fully healed and he can be his old self again. Thurman is going to reclaim his popular status, losing against Pacman, a legend isn't that bad because it was a close one, but if he still loses here, then I think it will be hard for him to become a champ again.
True, we can give him a pass on losing against Pacman, Manny was a legend and maybe it was Manny's night to win against Thurman because he still has it that time.

So no excuse for Thurman if he losses against Barrios, nothing against Barrios but we all know that he lost against a 140 lbs in Tank Davis and that is not even Tank's weight class. And now he try to move up and face one true legit Welterweight in Thurman.

@Yaunfitda yeah managed to tune in a little but work's a bit tough on Mondays so I'm going to have to wait till a bit later to see if I can catch it, but hopefully Tsitsi gets out of this intact before then.
Yep, it's a lot of work, but I still managed and won on the Tsitsipas match.

Got to see the match between Monfils and Berrettini because I put and roll the money on him from the Tsitsipas win, -2.5 at 1.87. He won comfortably the first set 6-4, but still a lot of work to do for him as Monfils is not an easy opponent.

Bulls lost again and it was a bad lost to Magic. Not sure if anyone has bet on the Magic before last time I check they are the underdog in this game.

I have the Bulls -4.5 to win, so it's another tough loss for me. And I'm sure majority here bet on the Bulls to end their losing streak against a not so good team such as Orlando.

Unfortunately, the spread wasn't enough mate because the Magic scored way more than them. Cheer up! There's still lots of games ahead.
Surely, the Bulls was overwhelmed against the Magic today and seriously it was really an unexpected turn that they'll lose to the weakest team in the league this season, it was a blowout with a 19 points difference. Gotta give these Magic roster some credits for the magnificent play today and almost all of them had a double figure score.

Not only we are talking of the spread, Bulls were the favorite but they lost by a huge margin. Tomorrow, we still have the bulls playing again, it's a back to back game, they maybe are tired here so I don't know if they can beat the OKC Thunder, it's still up to you if you are willing to risk.
I read that Zach Lavine might be back in the Bulls line-up in their game against OKC?

If this news is true, then maybe they can get back at the winning columns because he is already needed because the Bulls has been in a slump recently. DeRozan can't salvage the team by his own, he needed his partner to build the team back again.

Cleveland against the Knicks, I will put my money on Cavs -5.5.
2825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: January 24, 2022, 12:46:51 PM
The vote says it All with 19 Magsayo and only 6 for russel?

but also i believe that if Russel has no Injury? then Mark Magsayo will be having more difficult chance of winning.
It will be a difficult fight if Russell is not injured. Russell is still very quick and fast even with his just left hand in the fight. Hopefully, we can see a rematch so really see what will be the outcome of the fight.

But at least another Filipino Boxer climb up ring and now having a Belt of his career , congrats and more wins to come .
Yes, and we will have to wait for Casimero vs Butler. Another Filipino who has the belt right now, and if Casimero won then it will be a double celebration for Filipino boxing fans across the globe.

I put a little stake on Tsitsipas vs Fritz live betting just now at -2.5 for Tsitsipas for 1.96 boosted odd.

This is not Tsitsipas strong suit, but I think he will manage to win the game tonight.

It's 1-1 actually so it's a 3rd set and going to be crucial as obviously, the winner of this set will have one feet already on winning the match.
2827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 22, 2022, 09:49:13 AM
I like how Steph is looking for something he is good at within the game when he knows he is off with his three point shots. Where is it? Assists.
He provide dimes for his team and got 12 of it. Then he tries to look for his rhythm by forcing to score in the paint until he shoots the game-winning buzzer beater. 6 out of 21 field goals and 4 of 13 on outside shots and yet the team still trusted him to take the last shot that would avoid an overtime.
I am glad they came back from almost the worst loss of their season.
In their last game as well against the Pacers, Steph is really passing very well and getting his team to score and help in scoring, unfortunately, they've lost that gae.

But this time, he won't allow a struggling team like the Rockets to beat them on their floor. And what a step back, it really creates separation and he knows that he is going to make the shot the moment he releases it.
2828  Economy / Speculation / Re: Under $39k, what's next? on: January 22, 2022, 09:15:38 AM
Buy the dip of course, but also constantly buy at regular intervals for as long as you have an income.

Take a look at this calculator and see what would have happened if you had DCA for the last 5 years.

https://dcabtc.com/

Good link and thanks for this, book mark already. And the bloodbath continue though, yesterday it went as low as $38k and now even lower at $36k and almost -50% of the last all time high and we don't know where it will stop.

But as you have said, take this as an opportunity to accumulate throughout the years and see how it goes. For sure there is a net positive for just buying and then holding precious BTC as the supply is really dwindling in the next 2-3 years.

Yes, but past performance does not guarantee future performance. I do DCA and I don't care if there is war in Ukraine, Russia bans cryptocurrencies or we just broke ATH. I continue to ride along.

But we cannot trust that the returns that Bitcoin had in the first cycles will continue indefinitely. To the extent that an asset increases in price and market cap, it is more difficult for it to continue to have spectacular returns. I would like to see us reach $400K this cycle, but given what we have seen, it looks like it will be difficult.
As long as you are really for the long term, I don't think that you will be affected by the sudden down ward spiral, no matter what will be the reason (and I see no reason to investigate as what could be the factors of the decreasing price too).

Just continue as much as you can, accumulation will be the game right now and not complaining about the price, in my opinion.
2829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: January 21, 2022, 08:02:31 PM
If GGG looses to Murata, then a trilogy GGG vs Canelo might happen, or if Canelo looses to Ilunga Makabu a trilogy might happen? Sorry, I did not get what you tried to say.

I think he is referring to Canelo losing against a heavy opponent in Cruiserweight, because if he loses, he will have to go down as that means he cannot beat a natural heavy fight, with that, there's a possibility that he will meet GGG in a trilogy.
Or maybe Canelo is not really build for the Cruiserweight and it's too much for his body to put that much weight. So maybe he can go down to 175 lbs or even his natural weight class of 168 lbs.

This is only an speculation as we don't really know their plans, what if GGG is done chasing Canelo, or what if Canelo already close the book on a trilogy fight even if there's a lot of money to be made.
I think the burden is on GGG now, the pressure is on him since he is the older guy here at 40 years old while Canelo is in his prime. If Canelo says yes at a catch weight then maybe we can see the fight one last time.
2830  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you believe Michael Saylor is currently getting antsy? on: January 21, 2022, 06:20:35 PM
The purchase price of Microstrategy in Ave is around $31,500. Additionally, Tesla's average buy-in price is $36k. Is Elon going to sell?

What are your thoughts, gentlemen?
And why would they sell if they are not going to make a profit? their intention is to buy cheap bitcoin, so in the contrary, instead of selling, I'm thinking the opposite, they might be buying when the price hits $36k and $31k.

Those whales are wise enough, as the saying goes, buy when there is blood in the street so I think that's what they are going to do in the next couple of dips.
2831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buckle up bear market is upon us on: January 21, 2022, 03:33:16 PM
What do you think is the perfect time to build a new portfolio? Bear market cycle can take 2-3years some times is it wise to build portfolio right after bear market takes over? Judging from past years coins and tokens loses 95% of their value but not in an instant it was a gradual process, I think same thing will happen
Most likely the decline will repeat itself if the market trending market can't hold the $40k position, the current drop is almost half of ATH so another 30% is the next downside flow, when market downturn situation occurs it's better to cut loss and avoid holding in coins not potential because the price will fall will be difficult for price recovery.
If we decline to -50% of the last all time high, then definitely we are indeed in a bear market.
So it's like $34k-$34,500 if I'm not mistaken, and we are in the brink of hitting that as well with the current decline. And it's a scary thought that just about 2 months ago we are in a all time high and move forward at the start of the year, we are already taking a beating with almost half of that price already slice up.
2832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 21, 2022, 01:40:20 PM
impressive win by Nadal at Australian open tonight.
He seems definitely in a good shape... he can deserve a good position in the final rank if he continue to play in that way.
now there is live another interesting match/players Mannarino, Adrian - Karatsev, Aslan, interesting to follow Wink interesting to place quick bets (like single winning and moreover)

Karatsev vs Mannarino is live but it's a hard game to bet, 1-1 score and both winning in a tie-break.

I'm waiting on Tsitsipas vs Paire - I bet on the underdog here as Tsitsipas doesn't look good at his last match although he won, he was extended on that game. Paire is on a 7.x odds, so I might as well take it and see how it goes. I'm speculating that it could go on a 5 setter match.
2833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: January 21, 2022, 11:09:23 AM
His last fight is against Pacquiao and he lost, this time, I think he can win since Barrios has already passed his prime. I'm hoping that this is a big preparation fight for Thurman vs Crawford because we already have Ugas vs Spence Jr.

Great news for the boxing community.

I think Thurman would win in this fight too because he has an age advantage over Barrios which could be his edge over their upcoming fight. The fight is just a few weeks from now and he could definitely bag the title and belt if and only if he really trained well and he tried to learn the ways of Barrios in fighting such as predicting his opponent's next move strike of punch, defense, footwork, and speed. Although I would not like to discredit and invalidate the skills of a professional who is known to be in boxing for a long time already considering his age. Surely this would still be a challenge for Thurman before he will be able to achieve his goal - to win. Hopefully, they would give us an exciting and thrilling performance inside the arena. The announced date is on February 5, so for those fans of both players, be ready to witness their battle and may the best boxer really win.
Thurman has the tools to beat Barrios, no question about it, that's why majority of us here is favouring Thurman to win. But what makes this fight interesting is the whole statement of Thurman that this could serve as a title eliminator and winner takes the winner of Spence vs Ugas. So for sure, many are hype and going to watch and see how Thurman is, if he still has the power to become a champion again.
2834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 21, 2022, 10:22:11 AM
Indiana Pacers have been on a really great run in the recent times. They played two really tough away games consecutively and managed to win both of them. First, they defeated Lakers and last night they managed to defeat Warriors by 121-117. Curry played really superbly this time and did everything he could to carry his team to a victory. He got 39 points but still couldn't help for a win. Because the rest of the players were too ineffective. Thompson is still recovering now.
Well, I thought that they are going to win the game because they have a 3 point lead, with less than 10 seconds to go. But Holiday drain a 3 in the corner to tie the score and they failed on the next possession. And in the overtime, they've missed a lot of shots that could have made them the winner in this game. Congrats to Pacers, back to back win, it's tough but still they got the W and it's huge.
2835  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 20, 2022, 06:03:24 PM

Crawford is a skilled boxer, so even if he is out of Arum's management, he will find a way how to find good fights. Even if at first, he will not get what he wants, but if he will continue fighting the best and not choosy, he will rise up. So with or without Arum or any known promoter, Crawford will make a name depending on his power inside the ring. The promoters are just secondary when it comes to real achievement of the boxers.

There are still a lot of great promotions that he can go to manage his fights but he must pick the right promotion, Bob Arum failed him for not getting the fights that he wants the promotion that he should get is the promotion that he can secure him a fight against Spence and some other big fights he has the skill and the power to become on the top 3 pound for pound best fighters of this generation.
Arum is partly to blame, but I think Crawford did get the fights, he won the belts in the 140 lbs and 147 lbs. Maybe the opposition though is not that tough and that's what critics are saying.

So if ever he will sign with a new promotional contract, he should demand fights that the fans want and not just fight anyone so that at the end of his career, he will be judge as one of the best in the generation and not just another name or another champion and of course he could get more money being the champion.
2836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Consolidation on: January 20, 2022, 03:42:56 PM
I hold 3 ETH, 10% of a BTC and $20k in Alt (60+ diff Alts) Am I crazy? I jumped in early Sept, only 5 months ago, and while I saw the mid Nov spike, I'm down 25% overall. Should I consolidate?
To be honest, that's a lot of altcoins in your portfolio, I mean why you need 60 different alts though? why not go to 10-20 solid altcoins and remove all the meme coins and shitcoins.

Another reminder though is that we might be in for a long bear market, not scaring your or something, but you need to be prepared just in case. So most likely if you are going to hold for long term you will see your portfolio suffering and hopefully you have that mental toughness to just remain calm and hold.
2837  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC has crossed $43k what's next? on: January 20, 2022, 11:17:47 AM
Here is how I view BTC since we got into the new year, basically sideways in a range.  When it breaks the barrier either side then we can speculate better on price action moving onto a great target but for now it is set to repeat itself.

I would speculate it breaks upwards because its out run the negative trend from the ATH but that is not immediate or even definite yet.   Some fear the negative but in order to be especially negative we'd need to test and fail one of the higher prices like 50 or 200 day average somewhere around there.
A slight growth today, standing up to 42k again and yeah green mark is still in progress so maybe there are more to come in the next following days or at least this whole week?
as we have seen this struggle for the whole January to even break that 43k to step up at least 44k again or even higher.
I would expect the minimum of 50k level this end of 1st quarter if this condition continues .

But still a long way to go, it's only $42k and we've been in this kind of price for the last 2 weeks already so there is no movement whatsoever and the chart tell everything, we are indeed in a sideways movement.

The question is will we able to break or have a break out run on the positive upside? Really hard to tell at this point but to not disappoint us, we should be thinking ahead and that we should take into account a bear market already as early as this month.
2838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 20, 2022, 10:40:13 AM
^^ Jazz has been struggling when Gobert is out, what's more when you include Donovan on the mix. Plus Clarkson has been struggling lately and it seems he is out of the groove.

For the Lakers lost though, only Lebron keeps trying to keep the team. Nevertheless, others are also trying to contribute but the Pacers are the better team that night. Levert really exploded in this game and hitting his shots and so is Sabonis.
2839  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 20, 2022, 08:49:22 AM
Murray vs Daniel will also be next, Andy is the favourite per ML, but I will go over 35.5 @1.91 boosted. I think this will be an extended game and will not be easy for Murray to win.

As we might have expected, Murray is struggling and is a set down against an opponent ranked #120 in the world.
The problem is not his ability, it's his recovery... a long 5-set win in the last round against a top player was always going to take it out of him, it's the same as we saw last season, a great win against a top player is almost always followed by a real struggle against a much lower ranked player.

I feel bad for Murray, but from a betting perspective there is a clear pattern.
He is down 0-2 sets already, but leading in the 3rd set, maybe he will rally in the 3rd and at least win a set. But it's going to be very difficult for him it this is going to last for a 5th set. And if ever he will win, he will have to fight the next day and we all know that as we gets old the recovery of our body is slowing down.

As for the over bet, well at least Murray needs to win this set so that you will get a win. But if Daniel wins, then the bet is lost.
2840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: January 20, 2022, 06:25:51 AM
Watching the end of this Lakers game and it suddenly got ugly. No surprise that they blew the game with Howard on the bench again… It makes no sense…

One positive thing about the game was that LeBron got his 10,000th rebound. That makes him the only player in NBA history to have 30,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and 9,000 assists. A pretty impressive feat. I think he’s likely to get to 10,000 assists before he’s done as well. Statistically the best to ever do it.

LeBron is simply one of a kind.

But the Lakers are seriously struggling. They need someone to come in right now in lieu of AD because Russ is simply not stepping up. His decision making has always been terrible and this season has been no exception whatsoever.

Austin Reaves and Stanley Johnson shouldn't be the people saving the Lakers.

And the Pacers shoots very well in the outside specially 3's that really seal the win for them.

Lakers started very hot take a huge lead but they are not able to maintain it as Lavert, Sabonis keeps coming back and I will say that they are pesky in this game.

Duarte has some easy looks too, while the Lakers struggle to score and when the Pacers took the lead, you know it's over for the Lakers.
