Can others confirm here coss and bitcore?  So basically if you buy coss and bitcore at a certain price, it stays that price, you make the money on the airdrops etc they give?  Thus imagine you bought it at x price.  You then get those airdrops.  You then sell it at same buy price.  You make money because of what they give you?  How much percent is it?  People say 6 percent but someone mentioned a coin that gives almost 6x return.  Is that true/false?

Someone mentioned they got hacked in their myetherwallet by opening up a phishing like from an email.  If you open an email from someone you don't know who it is, but do not click on any link etc, is that generally safe?
2845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why hackers can get into Myetherwallet on: February 22, 2018, 08:31:15 PM
When you say clicked on the spam email, did you ever input your key?  If not, then i assume it was a keylogger?  Or could malware do this for just clicking an email.  also when you say click spam email, you mean click on the actual link in the email?  Because if you open an email from an unknown person but dont click on any link, that is generally fine?

I got the message of google shutting down the chrome web store and the rest of the message of downloading the new desktop application.

Do i need to update waves now or i could still use the current waves on my computer?
2847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why buy WAVES? on: February 22, 2018, 02:35:37 PM
Hey all.  This maybe a dumb question bit i notice when you are in waves wallet, they have usd dollar, euro btc, eth, litecoin, zcash and wtry.

Does that mean if you have btc, eth or zcash, you could basically use your waves wallet to store all these coins?  I had no idea you could store eth and litecoin or even btc in it.  Can someone confirm this is true?  If so, that mean if someone uses myetherwallet for ETH... i guess you can just use waves wallet instead?

Anyone?
2848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is Giving Out Your Bittrex/Binance Exchange BTC Address Safe? on: February 22, 2018, 06:29:25 AM
Let say you want to sell someone some btc.  But you want them to send the btc to your exchange account btc address whether its bittrex, binance or other exchange accounts.  Is that generally safe or not?

The other thing is i know with bittrex/binance, they give you the btc address to send btc to.  But could you generate a new btc address?  If so, would there be any conflict with any btc you already have in that bittrex/binance address?
2849  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If bitcoin is gone will the other coin survive? on: February 22, 2018, 04:19:12 AM
Has anyone noticed any altcoins go up when btc drops?  I seen very few if any altcoins go up if thats the case.  Also i noticed altcoins drop much harder than btc dropping.

If thats the case, if bitcoin hits really high price, wouldn't that mean almost all the altcoins will go up and multiply that much?  Example if btc ever hits say 200k, well would that mean monero, lisk and all these other coins would at least 10x itself?  Because from what i notice, thats the pattern.  Coins that were 1 dollar are now like 7 dollars etc.  However, if btc hits 200k, would those other coins maybe 2 or 3x only?  Or is everything going to basically at least 10x if btc 20x itself.
2850  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can electrum seed be secure on: February 22, 2018, 04:05:32 AM
Hi there.  So you mean if someone has say the first 11 or 10 words of your seed, then that would mean they could brute force it very easily then?  Thus if they know 11 or 10 but even if they are not in order, then that would be pretty easy for them then?

Also another question.  When people say private keys, what does that mean?  Because thats not the same as the seed?  I read in another thread that someone mentioned a bitcoin private key is not the same as the seed.

2852  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can electrum seed be secure on: February 21, 2018, 06:40:30 PM
Im curious but let say someone got a portion of your seed.  Electrum there are 12 words.  If someone were to get say the first 6 words, then are you still pretty safe?

Now what if someone knows say the first 10 or even 11 words of your seed.  Well if they know the first 11 words of your seed in the exact order, then i assume they could brute force this very quickly right?  But if they have the 10 or 11 words but not in the right order, i assume they could still brute force it but it would take longer?  And thus if they know the first 10 or 11 words, well they obviously know what language it is right?  How many words would you say is to the point where okay your seed is not safe anymore?  Im guessing the first 6, its still safe.  But probably if they got the first 8, then thats the point where its not safe?  The other thing is wouldn't the nano ledger s be more safe then since well its 24 words plus an option to make your own word?  Surely 24 words is safer than 12 words.

The other thing is this.  Aren't there going to hackers that would look at the entire word list say in english.  Then just trial and error putting random 12 words together and then magically eventually getting access to an account?  I mean how many electrum wallets are really out there?  How many in english?  Surely they could eventually hit one right after trial and error?  When i mean trial and error, i mean doing it themselves manually.  But those guys that do that, they use a program to brute force people say?  So brute force is basically a program that would just test every 12 word phrase on electrum click enter, it doesn't work, then try another word etc?  So if someone brute forces electrum, then they look at the computer and its basically like someone manually typing 12 different words over and over again?  And when brute force is done, do they do like 12 words where first 11 words are so and so, then the 12th word they take the next one on the 2000 word list etc?
2853  Economy / Exchanges / Gemini Verification Questions? on: February 21, 2018, 06:28:12 PM
I created an account on gemini.  When i went to verify my account, it says you have to send in verification documents.  The first step however is they require a cell number for verification.  I thought there was no issue since i always use my google voice number.  I done this with coinbase and other sites that require sms verification.  I got an error message that says gemini does not allow voip number as verification and has to be sms based.  First off, i do not have a regular us cell number.  I use google voice as when im using wifi, i can call/receive call and make text/receive text without issues etc.

I spoke to someone else who mentioned when they created a gemini account, they used authy as their 2fa to log in etc and never was required to input a phone number for verification.  He said he created an account few months ago and i did it similar to around then.  To those of you who created gemini account, do you recall if they ever asked you to put a cell number to receive a code before you could use the account?  The other thing is if you did, did they ever require you to put that number in again whether its log in or cash out from gemini to bank account?

Does anyone know if there is an issue for me to put someone elses cell number for verification for gemini, and then once i do that, i just use my authy or google authenticator as my verification?  I do not have a sms based us cell number at the moment.  Everything i do is with google voice when i have wifi.
2854  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which is better for cryptocurrency: Coinbase or Gemini? on: February 21, 2018, 06:23:27 PM
Which gives you a higher rate?  Those that use gemini, do you need a us sms cell number in order to use the account after verification?  Or does your 2fa such as authy or google authy work for it?
2855  Other / Off-topic / Re: !Be careful when logging in! on: February 21, 2018, 03:40:49 AM
The person that posted the picture with the 2 binance links... is the first one legit or not?  Because when you google binance, you see that one with the ad and of course below that, there is the real binance site.  The first link i was told if you click on it, it has binance site but it has a referral id etc.  So is the first one real or not?
2856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why hackers can get into Myetherwallet on: February 20, 2018, 05:18:15 PM
So what percentage is the most likely reason MEW accounts are hacked?  It seems like its mostly the person entering a fake site/phishing link right?  That is most likely number 1?  And the reason is most likely you google the site?  So when you click on it, does the actual site direct you to myetherwallet.com?  Or its something like myetherwa11et.com with different letters that look like it?

The other thing is has there been people who got their accounts hacked but never ever entered their seed into their MEW account?  And also those who never exposed their seed on their computer or online?  If so, how would that be possible?
2857  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger nano S doesn't work read before you buy on: February 20, 2018, 08:12:44 AM
Does anyone know how long a ledger nano s last for before it no longer works?
2858  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger nano S or Trezor T? on: February 20, 2018, 08:09:58 AM
On amazon, it seems the ratings are a lot higher for the trezor vs nano ledger s.  Is there a reason for that?  The other thing i noticed is the price of the trezor has dropped a lot to where price is similar to nano ledger.  Is there reason why?  Heard lot of negative reviews of ppl buying ledger s through amazon saying its a fake or compromised one.  Is there a reason there hasn't been cases of this with the trezor?

So basically if you buy a nano ledger s, make sure you buy it from manufacturer.  But with trezor, it doesn't matter?  I haven't heard of cases where a compromised trezor was bought.  Anyone read about that?

Does anyone know if nano ledger s you could put a 25th word yourself?  So with trezor and the 25th word, it generates you 24 word seed.  Then you make your own 25th word which could be any word you want, no matter how many letters?  So if someone were to figure out your 24 word seed on trezor as it got exposed somehow, does that mean its basically impossible for them to access your trezor if you put a 25th word?  Like imagine your 25th word was something like

2859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Google Ads Phishing Sites Questions on: February 18, 2018, 10:42:00 PM
So i notice when you go on google and type in words like binance, electrum etc... many times the first link that shows up is a site that has ads on it that apparently is a google ad but not the real site and thus a phishing site.  I have heard examples of people downloading fake electrum wallets etc on these links and then typing in their seed and then their wallets get hacked.  Also with someone mentioning they logged into binance with the fake site as its the first site that shows up on it and their account gets hacked.  I heard this with fake bitcoin cash/gold wallets a while back as well.

What i want to know is this.  If you do visit these sites but do not put down your seed for wallets or put log into your binance/myetherwallet account... are you generally safe?  As im sure lot of people probably clicked on these links which they thought was the real site and then they say their accounts got hacked.  Someone on the forum here said the only way you could get hacked is if you actually typed in the seed for your wallet or you typed in your account/password for myetherwallet etc.  So is that true or false?  If you visit these sites but don't put in any information, are you generally safe?

The other thing i want to know is this.  Why has google not removed these ads?  I read that someone said people pay to promote these sites so they could higher than the real results that first show up.  But these are hackers putting up links.  How has google not banned these?  For example when you type in binance, first link that shows up is google ads binance at the top.
2860  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How long is shipping time from Ledgerwallet.com? on: February 18, 2018, 10:36:23 PM
I took a look at ledgerwallet site.  It says its preorder now.  First off, there is option of standard vs usp express which is 7-21 business days vs 3-5 business days.  Do almost all of you get the 3-5 express business days?
