It's the same situation as the bitcoin.com, wrong people took over and they advertise their fake "real bitcoin" projects. Same with the twitter account https://twitter.com/bitcoin Sad
2843  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ddmrddmr on DT1 on: April 10, 2019, 06:33:44 PM
I disagree with the OP, posting feedback have almost nothing to do with begin DT1.
We mix again the Trust with Feedback.
Most important is his trust list and the way he judge whom to trust or distrust ,also being able to include or exclude members and keep an eye on the rest of the DT members, then comes the feedback.

If Ddmr2 trusts someone (or a few) who dedicates his time to tag scammers, and this guy is on DT2 because of him then Ddmr2 is more valuable then the few feedback he could have done himself.
2844  Other / Meta / Re: My account was hacked! Pay attention please. on: April 10, 2019, 04:56:46 PM
I'm coming to the constitution that to make up that story for 6 merit is just ridiculous.
Asking exactly those who tag merit beggars for merit is really a fishy.  He actually needs 150 more merit to really rank up, and in the PMs he says that he want to rank up to Legendary. When you read the PMs they look really like someone is trying to a set up the OP.

I normally report guys like the OP, but this time I'm willing to conclude that the OP is the victim. On the other hand the Tomoit, complaining about getting merit and drawing attention to him and the case is a bit weird. There is something fishy there too.

You never changed your password, it should have been updated on your profile trust page.

Correction, you did >

Interesting, since when the password change is not noted with red font? It used to be like this or something wrong with me.. SORRY.
2847  Other / Meta / Re: What with bitcointalk .COM, it's a bit misleading. on: April 10, 2019, 10:58:58 AM
So I'm not alone in this.  I was quite exited at first but when I checked the bottom line with powered by phpBB then I knew what happened.
At least people should be aware that the .COM site is not in any way connected to the .ORG site.
Seems like it might not be a phishing site, more like alternative crypto space, but I don't advice anyone to register there.
2848  Other / Meta / What with bitcointalk .COM, it's a bit misleading. on: April 10, 2019, 09:57:51 AM
I got a new computer and in the fresh-installed browser wrote without thinking bitcointalk. com instead of .org.
I ended up on the "New Bitcointalk". Reading the trough the site you get the impression that this is the new forum,
but build on phpBB. For the old members here it won't be a problem but for the newbies can be quite confusing.

I think domains like bitcointalk .com and .net should be registered to the real bitcointalk community just to avoid such misleading activities.

2850  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEWallet.org is a SCAM on: April 09, 2019, 08:51:48 PM
Just to summarize the case and to make it more clear, in order to return the funds, the Freewallet team have requested the account owner in this case wanghenlen to provide ID, photo, some invoice and he has already done this.

Next step is to contact the user to verify the sent documents?

We are talking about a big amount here, I understand the Freewallet concerns. Nevertheless the owner should be able to withdraw his money anytime

BTW, here my personal experience with one Scandinavian bank. I forgot my password for my bank account, and when I called the support for recovery I went through questioning like, what were my last payments around, how much salary I got on my last paycheck, etc, questions which can reveal a fraudster.

I really hope the case to be solved and the rightful owner to receive their funds.
2851  Other / Meta / Re: What will happen with deceased DT members' feedback? on: April 09, 2019, 08:24:55 PM
I knew there is going to be a discussion here with different opinions.
I value the rest of the feedback left from Zepher, and I don't think it should be removed.
But here is one another example with hacked account and negative feedback left from Zepher :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=114334

If by chance the original owner shows up with a signed message we will come back to the same situation as now.
I guess reporting to theymos those isolated cases should be ok but we need confirmation from his side.
2852  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Providing Fake Google Reviews on: April 09, 2019, 12:19:47 PM
Tagged him.
Hope he learn his lesson and quit this shady business, but I kind of doubt it.
Let's see. He still have a ??? as a rating, soon I guess will end up on the red side.
2853  Other / Meta / What will happen with deceased DT members' feedback? on: April 09, 2019, 11:10:10 AM
It's not the most pleasant subject to talk about but still comes as an issue.

After the sad news that we lost one more valuable member of our community, some of the ratings left from a DT2 member can no longer be changed.

Late example is this thread .

Typical case of a hacked account, the real owner signed a message from his old posted address, some DT members tagged the account and now after the new recovery system is working very well, the account was recovered back to the original owner.

After the recovery all of the negative ratings were removed except one, the one from Zepher (rest in peace buddy).
See here :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=147307

Zepher's trust list > http://loyce.club/trust/2019-04-06_Sat_20.17h/369879.html

I don't think Zepher will ever be able to remove the negative rating. Instead some DT members left a positive ratings to counter the negative one.
Still I don't think this is the best solution. I guess the admins should remove such obvious ratings, as here is no doubt that Zepher would remove it if he could.

What you think people?
2854  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: April 09, 2019, 08:50:58 AM
This thought occurred to me recently:

If you wanted to implement Merit in a decentralized forum (ie. one in the vein of Freenet's Frost or FMS), you could do it in this way:
 - Everyone can, from their own perspective, give unlimited merit to posts, and these merit transactions are put into files which each user publishes via the decentralized system. (Like a merit.txt.xz which every user publishes.) Unlike on bitcointalk.org, you can also give people merit without an associated post.
 - For everyone who has merit, you download their merit-transactions-list, but scale down/up all of the numbers so that the total merit that they send is equal to the actual sMerit that they own. It might or might not be useful to do this via some sliding time frame scheme so that merit transaction amounts aren't just continually diminished over time as they increase in quantity.
 - Apply the above step recursively, creating a web-of-trust-style merit network

Then every user has a subjective merit score for each post (sort of like the bitcointalk.org trust system, which was inspired by FMS). And if you wish, you can assign people to be merit sources from your perspective by sending them large amounts of merit directly; these might or might not appear in the merit-transactions-list which you publish.

I think you have to make a separate section to post your ideas, they are getting lost in this ocean of information ( mostly spam) and people have to intentionally remember that you had posted this good info somewhere, otherwise no one will come on a page 297 of this huge Multy-Mega-Mighty Merit thread.
Same happens with your good thoughts posted here and there around the forum. I sometimes read your post history to find some really good gems, but again they are all lost and almost forgotten. Sad.

When we gonna know what happen with the bounty?  I also vote for Wasabi, if it will make any difference at all.
Very nice and clean design, I tried it only once just for test and I really liked it.

Upon visiting the thread of Few Trusted Escrow Provider and I checked the profile there one by one, and I noticed that this user TwinWinNerD only has the error of with their bpip page. Or only just me?  Undecided
Code:

It's the same error I get on lyka account.
Got a Database error trying to open this account :

2858  Other / Meta / Re: User got voted into DT1 by sockpuppets on: April 08, 2019, 11:41:32 AM
The requirements should follow the forum ecosystem development.
A year ago 1 merit was very difficult to achieve, there were just a few sources and initial smeirt was given away for a few months, now many more courses were added, much more merit is generated per month and the tendency is the merit pool to grow bigger with the time.

Here are two options.

-Instead of fixed 10 earned merit make it a % of the total generated source merit so if new merit sources are added the requirement will change accordingly.

Example now there are 20855 sMerit per 30 days requirement can be 0.1% of the total amount =

- If it is fixed amount then add a requirement for additional earned merit for a given time like 3 merit per 120 days of activity.

That will be easy to spot the abusers, at least the lazy ones that give 3 in one shot.
2859  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos, please share the list of banned accounts for BPIP and LoyceV websites on: April 08, 2019, 08:25:11 AM
that admin can do easily with a few clicks.

lol...

I'd rather he finish epochtalk than enhance this site.  Smiley

You can see what banned activity BPIP collected for any date here:
https://bpip.org/metalog.aspx?d=2019-04-08

Actually Epochtalk is finished, now it's in a alpha or maybe even beta test mode, but not so many want to test it.
I think theymos should invest a little bit in advertising the project, how can it gain popularity if nobody knows about it and it's a great community tool.

2860  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos, please share the list of banned accounts for BPIP and LoyceV websites on: April 08, 2019, 07:18:09 AM
If I remember correctly theymos don't want to implement "banned" rank due to some security reasons.
It is quite strange that the banned information is available to everyone in the modlog but doesn't have a dump file, so third party software have to collect /increase the traffic and load on the servers/ and implement add-ons and for things that admin can do easily with a few clicks.
Then users have to trust to use this third-party software * instead relaying on the forum itself, so the security issue is bigger than the admin consents regarding the banned rank.

* - just want to note that I do trust Ddmr2,LoyceV, Vod who are doing great work. Thanks.

Sorry for the gibberish English, it's Monday.
