It's true, Russia banned access to bitcointalk some time ago so every user coming from there has to use VPN in order to access it. That makes their numbers even more impressive and I wonder how many people from my country (Croatia) would bother going through hassle like that just to access the forum.
Of course it will affect some users who are not used to accessing forums using a VPN or TOR, but if they really like forums then they will definitely look for solutions so they can continue their activities as usual. But in my opinion, it's not only because of restriction or bans that the user base is down but I have seen quite a lot of decrease in active users during 2018 to 2020 due to thousands of failed altcoin projects.

I have too a bad feeling about italian board going trough a VPN!
How is it possible, is Italy doing the same with Russia? I'm not sure that's true, but last month there were only 60 active posters on Italian boards or about 55% of active posters on Indonesian local boards.

Op case is different on what lovesmyfamilis did before because Op is contributing to the forum lesser or worst not. And when he committed a crime which is plagiarism and also we all know that A hero member should know everything the rules and regulations and based on his profile he registered on 2015 which is almost 7 years here in forum with a 686 post?
While lovesmyfamilis commit a plagiarism she is doing great and a lot of contributions here in forum before she made a mistake so she is deserves a second chance.
As LoyceV has answered, I don't think the OP has much of a chance of getting a second chance even though he can defend himself on some grounds. I really feel sorry for what he has done that ultimately makes him feel very guilty, and it's true what people say "regret always comes too late".

Violating rule No. 33 is something that is very hard to forgive, but only a small percentage of people get a second chance thanks to their contributions to the forum. The quote in LoyceV's post from theymos seems very clear for everyone to understand including the OP. This really should be a valuable lesson for anyone, now and in the future.
2843  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IS it possible to let your BTC work for you ? on: March 18, 2022, 10:38:07 PM
This is apparently one of the best responses to OP.

BTC is money and the idea that entails your investments working for you is mostly describing money. With Bitcoin being a cryptocurrency that exists on a digital field, the rules plays out differently and that implies, either you handling your bitcoin yourself in whatever investment or having a third party site handle it for you through lending or staking but that's not without risk. Your safest means to being your own owner of bitcoin is having it in your own wallet. Not your keys, not your coins.

Owning an establishment and having some staff work for you while you pay them in BTC could be considered having your BTC work for you. Although, it all have to play out in a way that, it would increase your BTC hodling.
People can lend or stake their bitcoins just to earn interest, but of course that is a risky thing. Just like many people say, not your keys then not your bitcoin. It's a slogan that really works for anyone who owns bitcoin where they are the primary person in charge of their funds.

I would not risk too much to stake or lend my bitcoin only for 0-10% interest, although some people think it is profitable but in fact it is very risky. The best financial management is when we do it ourselves, for ourselves with all the consequences.

And I have to congratulate him after I managed to fulfill 3000 merit in his current profile.

So far the Russian local board are the most active local board in terms of merit gain, number of posts and also number of active users. AFAIK, Russia has long put bitcointalk on the ban list which might cause a bit of annoyance for users. But I really appreciate their efforts to keep users active in this forum with a number of posts, active users and also merit distribution even though I assume that users there should use a vpn. They are impressive in my opinion
2845  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is a game of quantity on: March 18, 2022, 09:45:01 PM
The idea to "have as many bitcoin as you can" instead of "have your bitcoin worth as much as possible" as a way of investment changes the approach people could have in crypto investments. The reality is that, if bitcoin dropped to 100 bucks today, I would buy dozens of bitcoin without thinking, there will be plenty of people selling (hence the drop) and imagine bitcoin is over, but why I invest into bitcoin will never be gone unless there is a hacking or something going on.

This is why crypto is almost always great and I want to own more crypto, my aim is not to have my crypto worth more even though that would be great, it was never my intention.
Sometimes people can only say that they really believe in bitcoin and its future potential, but in reality they never have bitcoin in their wallets. It doesn't seem reasonable to me because they have lied to themselves for nothing.

DCA is good advice for bitcoin investing and may be especially helpful when the bitcoin price down an erratic correction. We are in a period between $35K and $45K where both have become support and resistance after the $69K ATH. We could just buy bitcoins and take advantage of a correcting market and collect as much as we can, but there's nothing wrong with DCA as bitcoin can still go down even if it tries to recover above $40K.
2846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: March 18, 2022, 09:29:12 PM
Do you really think other Ligue 1 teams will compete for the title with PSG? I don't think so. Teams like Lens, Lille and Monaco are quite weak now. They need talented and experienced players to strengthen their squad. But they are not interested in spending enough money. PSG, on the other hand, spends more money than they need. Fighting for the title with PSG requires other teams to spend money and recruit talented players.
Nothing will stop PSG from clinching the title this season considering they already lead the standings with a 15-point advantage over the other two contenders. PSG have 10 match left for the season and they will be sure of the title at the start of this season despite losing 2-3 in the next 10 matches.

It's hard to see the fact that Messi, who has signed from Barcelona so far, has only scored 2 goals, but he has already registered 10 assists for PSG. Mbappe is the team's top scorer who may still be Ligue 1's top scorer at the end of the season, but all that means nothing because PSG failed in the Champions League. PSG must strengthen their defense and midfielders if they are to compete with other top teams in the Champions League next season. It's useless they have Mbappe, Messi and Neymar but their defense is bad.
2847  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think DEX is safer? Here is why I don't on: March 17, 2022, 09:39:53 PM
There are many fake exchange that you may find difficult to distinguish (phishing) where it can put your funds at risk. Honestly if you are used to using dex exchange then you have to make sure your wallet connection must be disconnected with the exchange (not just 1 time, but do 2 or 3 checks). That will make you safer in my opinion.

Also keeping your funds on any exchange in large is totally discouraged because of the risks. Obviously you should consider a secure wallet to store your potential coins/ tokens in the long term and you are not advised to keep them on an exchange.
2848  Economy / Economics / Re: What skills should I learn to get freelance work ..?? on: March 17, 2022, 09:28:33 PM
Before you jump into the freelance world, you must know your interests as a freelancer and match what is needed on a freelance website if you are looking for freelance work online. In my experience as a freelancer in Upwork (https://www.upwork.com/), at least we have adequate certificates to do a job, experience in that field and reviews from previous jobs will also determine if you are accepted as a freelancer in that/next job.

Now there are many online trainings, and at the end of each training session we will also get a certificate as a provision to look for work.
It's clear that determining interest is the first option the OP has to fulfill and that will help him have a good focus on maximizing his abilities. The question feels very easy to the OP but finding the right answer for him requires that we know what he is really interested in. I can't pinpoint any work on this forum that would increase his finances, but a signature campaign could help him too.

OP, it's hard to pinpoint which jobs on this forum can earn you a consistent monthly steady income. Even signature campaign will eventually run out, but there are plenty of jobs out there that you might be able to do like mining, content creation or others. Everything needs a process, but if done consistently then you will reach the point of success later.
2849  Other / Meta / Re: Why I love Bitcointalk! on: March 17, 2022, 09:16:33 PM
Despite of the fact that this forum hates spamming and trolling, but i still see a lot are doing that. But not to deny that this forum is still educative and creates facts transmission from some knowledgeable and reliable sources. The reason why i still love to stay here in bitcointalk forum. And especially for newbies, this forum will be very helpful as it teaches a lot of things that are crypto related. But still always do your part, DYOR as much as you can.
I really understand your point and the users who use this forum should have the main purpose as a place of education or learning related to bitcoin or cryptocurrency.

But it is not impossible that there are many users who live only for money without wanting to make any contribution to the forum. I've been through this period before but I started looking for other ways out and motivation to stay put and increase my contribution. I'm starting to enjoy it now and it's been getting a lot of support from other contributors.
2850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: March 17, 2022, 09:03:46 PM
I kind of expected more from Barcelona today following there recent performance in there domestic Laliga and somehow, they disappointed me, having a difficult time in making out the goals. The most important is the fact that they win and even got to win by a come back but, it wasn't so interesting for me after all. Anyway, Barca got to advance as expected and that's the most important.
But it's good they didn't disappoint their supporters today. Barca qualified for the next round after the first leg was held to a goalless draw at Camp Nou. Actually Galatasaray played well in the first half where they defended and attacked well when they got the ball, but Pedri's goal broke their concentration.

Following Barcelona's good performance and dominance in today's game, I think Xavi should earn the respect of the Barca fans. He has improved the quality of the team with a good mentality and strategy to win games. From my analysis, the strategy that Barcelona had today really made them superior in terms of quality and individuality in attack.

Sevilla were 1 goal behind West Ham in the first half, will Sevilla fail this season in the Europa League? but the aggregate is still 1-1.
2851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 17, 2022, 08:56:33 PM
I don't blame the players or coach, I blame the league they're playing at. There's no competition in their league like there's no match you can look at and compare them to other top games in other leagues. In the premier league, there are multiple game you'll consider top games and this kind of games help clubs prepare for other top clubs from other league when they encounter them in competition like the champions league.

This top matches can also be found in other league like in la Liga, we have matches between Real Madrid vs Barcelona and Atletico, Premier league has Manchester City vs Liverpool, Chelsea etc, Bayern Munich has Dortmund to prepare them against top clubs from other league but what does PSG has, nobody. They can easily beat any team in their league with ease and this weaken their fighting spirit when they meet bigger teams and this is evident as they keep getting knockout.
But wait, PSG is not a team that is impossible to lose even though it has a number of expensive players in its squad. Last season PSG only managed to win 26 matches, 4 of which drew and 8 lost. This made them fail to win the 2020-2021 season title.

For this season PSG have also experienced 3 defeats and 5 draws in 28 matches. They are favorites in Ligue 1 every season which may be different from other leagues. But they are not a strong team in Europe where their failure is proof that they do not have good competition. There are only 2 candidates from Ligue 1 who qualify for the Champions League each season, and 1 other team has a chance of qualifying for the Champions League through the qualification pathway.

2853  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin touched $43k, from $33k in two weeks on: March 16, 2022, 12:02:25 PM
It's a good bounce and yet we are still in the $40k'ish, way below the last all time high we see last November. And it's been four months already and so far the market is not recovering. And we can do is hope but we should be prepared by anything that can happen. Be it that the price will spring up again to a new all time high or maybe it will go on a down ward spiral because of the ongoing war.
The bitcoin price has again traded around $40K today which has fueled speculation of a bigger bull run in the coming days. I still think that this year $50K is still very likely to be achieved even though FUD has raised doubts among traders and big investors to invest.

Bitcoin is still a safe store of value for those willing to take the risk of volatility. They are long term holders who may be very optimistic about bitcoin's great potential in the future. I don't think it's good for everyone especially for those who don't have good capital management skills. Of course bitcoin still has great potential, but in the long run bitcoin investments will only be made by those who agree and don't really care about volatility.

JayJuanGee, I have thought about that advice many times and have applied it on several occasions when I have some capital to invest. So far there has been a good improvement from my portfolio where I would still like to have 50% more bitcoin in the portfolio and will probably only set aside 20%-30% for altcoin.
There is a big hope that I want to achieve with bitcoin in the future, and hopefully it will come true for me. Nothing is impossible with bitcoin, but we really need to have good management for this investment.
2855  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: March 16, 2022, 11:30:31 AM
The El Clasico in a few days is really important for both teams definitely. Barcelona are not playing like in the beginnings of the season anymore. They are a far stronger team now as Xavi has started to apply his strategies to the team very well. The Ferran Torres and Aubameyang transfers have been really beneficial for the team so far. They have made a big contribution to the team so far. Real Madrid must play very aware even though the game is in Santiago Bernabeu. Otherwise, they could come across a very unexpected result. And I believe that both teams will score and we will see a draw at the end.
Barcelona have won a lot of match in Laliga so far and they look unbeaten in 12 matches. Xavi managed to improve the performance of the Barcelona players, especially the midfielders and attackers. Aubameyang has not scored consistently but he is still very dangerous when he gets chances and he is also in good form to face Galatasaray in the second leg of the Europa League.

For this season, the most likely target for Barcelona to achieve is the Europa League and maintain the top 4 position in the standings. Although the Europa League title is not their main target this season, Xavi and Barcelona have no other choice because the Laliga title is almost impossible for them to get after Real Madrid are 10+ points ahead of them. So there are only two targets they are most likely to secure this season and that is the Europa League title and also a ticket to the Champions League next season.
2856  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happened to my motivation on: March 16, 2022, 12:37:18 AM
Unfortunately, most of them will not care about this at the beginning because they only focus on the profits that they may be able to gain very highly and optimally. On the other hand, they know nothing about the investment that they are invlved in. Sometimes, they are only interested in other people's success without being willing to see what journey they are actually passing and doing si far to reach success.
Normal, it was a normal thing for human nature and they would learn on their own based on their experience later. Sometimes mistakes and failures can teach us to do better, but falling into the same pit more than once is a very bad thing.

About the OP, I think you've gotten quite a bit of advice and motivation from other users so far. You just have to think about what is best for you and how you can survive in this forum. Motivate yourself about what you want to achieve because usually success will be achieved when you have a goal. The forum and users will help you figure out whatever you want based on their knowledge and experience, so you can ask questions and interact with any user when you want.

Congrats to the guest team (Atletico and Benfica), you deserve it. Ajax is not having luck today, even though has 70% of ball possession, after the whistle referee, the score is still 0-1. there is little chance in the 90'+6' 30" but Brobbey got offside. While MU, I know this will happen, because the team had become a habit, If they got the winning in a match before (vs Spurs), they will lose after, I'm not surprised. they are not worthy to be there.
Really, I was absolutely ridiculous expecting Manchester United to reach the quarter-finals against Atletico Madrid in that match. Manchester United played well and I don't think they managed to create many chances because of Atletico Madrid's strong defence. After all, Manchester United didn't defend well in that match where they conceded 2 goals even though the referee ended up canceling Felix's goal for offside.

Previously I thought Ajax could easily qualify for that match with a win, moreover they managed to dominate the match well. Ajax had 70% possession and over 15 tries but luck was not on their side in that match. Benfica clearly qualified by luck even though Ajax deserved to advance to the quarter-finals.
2858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past nine months bitcoin journey on: March 16, 2022, 12:04:00 AM
There is nothing wrong with attempting to buy dips within your budget.. so you can maintain both a DCA and a buying on dips at the same time.
-snip-
I've listened to this advice far more often than I've ever done, but I can confirm that planning a budget is the most sensible thing to do before making an investment. Despite all that, maintaining DCA during a bear market like now is much better than having to buy all at once.

Buy on dip is one of the best ways to get more bitcoin at a low price, but DCA is also worth considering given the current sensitivity of the market due to the chaotic world due to war and inflation.
2859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 Round of 16! on: March 15, 2022, 10:18:33 PM
Many had high hopes for CR7 coming into this game, i don't blame them.. he was on fire against Tottenham in the epl, but tonight Atletico Madrid's defence have been able to stop him as well as the other players that were thrown against them. I wouldn't say Manchester United didn't play well, they dominated play and gave us a good game, but they simply were not the best team tonight even with the home advantage. Now there's no Messi and no Ronaldo in the UCL, It should be Atletico against benfica next, it should be a good display as well.
Damn, apparently Manchester United have to swallow another bitter pill this season in the Champions League even though they have Ronaldo in their team. Don't know what curse this team received and I really believe it was a very bad result for them.

Ajax also failed in the second leg at home and it was something unlucky for both teams at home today. Benfica who came with all the doubts can finally advance to the quarter-finals this season, it was luck for them.
