A little excitement today.

Go my 2nd X-1 in the mail.

Pulled it out of the box and set it up on my desk plugged the cable into the back of the unit and then into the powerstrip. There was a thunderous electrical crackle and spark and the room went dark.

Looks like the power supply died and popped the circuit breaker along with it.

This is the first piece of electrical equipment I have had die straight out of the box that I can remember. It sure does smell bad!

How could this possibly happen when BA is using such premium quality components? /s

Yea, I thought they weren't supposed to explode!  Looks like one more lie/poor quality from BA.

Why don't you, "easily" cash it out for yourself if you need the money?  It makes no sense to sell it for less than its worth...

Fucking A, I paid 4 btc 2 weeks ago for a 2% stake in the company.  I thought the percentage seemed a little high for what he wanted for it.  Guess it was too good to be true.  Good bye $2500, anyone have any dox on this guy?

david105396 even doesn't answer on ecointalk. No responses and updates from BA now for 10 days.

Interesting. Guess you haven't really been reading the forum.

I guess you really haven't been shipping.

I can help you out David if you aren't seeing all of the complaints over on, "the forum"?  Would you like me to post some of the ones that stand out over here?  I just looked through the most recent page, and I would say that at least 75% of the posts are cursing your companies name and are hating their guts.  While the other 25% are things like. "+1" or "yea".  Sounds like things are going real smoothly.  Also not X-3 STILL!  That backplane sure worked out didn't it?  Oh what?  It did work and they are all currently running in house...who woulda thought?

He's probably mad that his personal X-1 doesn't perform well.

He can join everyone else who seems to have gotten one.

Seems like my miners are on their way. Just got tracking info from BA which seems to have been on its way since the 12th.. and is now in my country.

Sadly they didnt get my updated address. This means that DHL has been trying to deliver the package for the last 2 days.. just not where I live any longer.

Anyways, should hopefully get them tomorrow.

What is your order number from BA?

early 120's

So from the other persons order number they are between 120 and 207 (My order number)  at the moment getting all the orders out before the End of this month may be a little impossible. As all orders are not X1's and people would really not buy more than 1-2 X1's (or they would buy an X3) maybe under 50 X1's have gone out (estimate which may be quite wrong)

miss a target date?  that would never happen.  their dates would be more accurate if they used a random number generator.

I cannot recall a single date they've hit.  not one.

it's been an endless serious of what I've come to call 'stringalong dates', which are dates that look to me like they're designed to simply string people along, avert any action through legal channels and/or consumer groups, and then kick the can down the road again.

I am imagining uproarious laughter in the boardroom as they laugh at how they've managed to string people along on a going on 5 month delay with a series of dates that were missed and a promise of price matching that was broken.

Not to shoot you down my friend, but the very first Thursday update they said they would make actually did come out on Thursday...albeit every one after that was late or missing...

In all honesty, yes they have not done a single thing right or to specifications.  Whatever people built this are ignorant assholes who are mining with these things right now to make back some of the inevitable loss they know they will have.  They have cost people millions, and could care less, instead to go silent and leave people hanging.  Even BFL has better integrity than that.  Way to go BA, you have successfully lowered yourself lower than the biggest scum in bitcoin mining today.  Hope you go under.

It's all good.  I'm glad they did manage to send out a production update on time, although I was more referring to promised ship dates.

From what I remember those dates looked like this:

End of February.  Then May 1.

Then it was Minions on May X, shipping will commence the next day, remember that one?  That was my personal favorite.

Now the most current goal seems to be everything out the door by end of July.

To me it looks like they'll say anything to keep the flood of refunds at bay and the wolves from the door, regardless of whether or not they have any realistic possibility of meeting those dates.  Just a little longer, just a little longer, just a little longer.  Really, THIS TIME it's just a little longer......

I am glad you could see I was joking there, I just reread my post, and it wasn't as apparent as I thought it would come across as.  Smiley

I agree, I think when they said that they would ship chips next day after receiving chips, and then X-3's within 3 days and X-1's within 4 or 5 days, I almost fell out of my chair from laughing at the incompetence/narcissism!  I even called them out and even offered to bet David that it would never happen, guess we should have taken his refusal to bet as a clear sign that it was all BS.

Speaking of...where is that BFL BA scumbag JoshDavid?  Haven't seen him around to "soothe" the masses in awhile.

You keep quoting laws and regulations for manufacturers, not for end users.  aka, they do not apply to anyone in this thread (besides possibly OP, but he isn't even manufacturing them).  You will not get your laser taken away if your caught with it, and it does not meet the standards you have quoted.  So I am not sure what you are attacking here?  It seems to be directed at me, but all I have said is that they are not illegal for people to own or use, which you have agreed with, then you have gone on citing regulations that have no relation to the topic (and are a simple google search away).

So not really sure what your getting at here as nothing you have said affects me in any way?

At work right now, so I really don't have time to look at all of that, but you do seem to have done some research (past copying and pasting I have no idea), but that doesn't matter.  They are not illegal to own in the United States, and proper care will keep one safe.

Besides, we all know they work like this

Not to defend him or anything, but I think he means that you might accidentally cause eye damage to another person or animal. Even the scattered light from the laser off of shiny surfaces, like water or buildings, might be enough to cause damage, it doesn't have to be a full beam.

I completely agree, and that is a good warning.  But coming in, and making yourself sound uneducated by throwing things around the way he did, is not the way to go about saying that.  But in all honesty, if someone is buying something like this, and doesn't know how to handle it, is the best way to handle it to say, "have fun blinding yourself and going to jail?"  No that makes you sound like a jackass.

So basically, they took forever to ship, and when they did ship (a couple of X-1's), the product does not work as intended, has a ton of hw errors, and is a total fail.  Basically they spent all this time to deliver a "superior" product, but ended up producing a lemon.  Does that about sum it up?
Yep, that's right. But the lemon won't explode!  Wink

No, but warms up and does not work. I changed the speed to 1000Mhz and HW error is now 28%. It is worse. I think taht we need update the software, but I don't know how it's done.

Regrads.
Antuam

sounds like a bad minion chip

I don't think this is an isolated incident, I have read many times where the thing will not run for more than a few hours, what happened to all the testing BA was supposed to do to ensure that they run?  Guess the 5 days of free hosting was another lie.

This one is just to have.  My family has always had fun with lasers at the beach, and I figured this would be fun for when we go to Hawaii this winter, but I am starting to think this one may be to powerful and I might also order a lower powered one.  But it never hurts, I can use it for self protection in my apartment, since i am not allowed to have a loaded gun per the complex's rules.  This would be a good second.

You do not need them if you very careful, they are advised though.  Just don't point them at reflective surfaces and you'll be fine.  In fact, outdoor use in general is probably just safer.

Enjoy your blindness and/or multiple felonious assault charges.

I wish you would do some research before (and not just you, but everyone who is ill informed) spouting nonsense.  I can only be blinded if it hits me in the eye, well, how about I don't shine it in my eye?  And what felonious charges do you speak of?  Cite some precedent where it is illegal to own one of these?  You cannot, so you must be talking about being moronic enough to shine at either an airplane, another person, and animal, a cop, a driver...etc...  How stupid do you believe humanity is?  It really is none of your business my intentions with it.  But please do not harass me if your ill informed.  If someone is stupid enough to shine these at the aforementioned, then they deserve their punishment, and your small post will hardly deter them, but I will not get in any kind of trouble and I hardly need you telling me where I am right or wrong.  Go FUD elsewhere please.

Wow OP, pretty unprofessional way to deal with some of your customers. That, and also the fact that these are drop shipped from another source has turned me off from probably getting one. Still following this thread for updates from those that will be receiving these.

The OP and I corrected my issue through PM and I got a tracking number for my 2000mw laser yesterday.  I am not sure if there was just miscommunication on my part or what, but I am happy to say that I am getting what I wanted, and am happy with my purchase.  If this one arrives and everything works to specifications, I may get a lower powered one.

If I might ask, what is your intended use for such a powerful laser?

Be careful, apparently you need special glasses to handle these.

I have a few upgraded 7GH jally's and was just wondering if offering $45 for these as well or if you could do slightly better?  These weren't modded, purchased as upgrade option from BFL directly.  (regretting that decision now obviously).

I am sorry, I cannot go any higher on that price.
Understood.  So would $45 be with shipping cost included as well then?  Are you located in the states?

*note: considering selling one of them along with 3 333MH USB sticks if your interested (black, black, and red)
