2861  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MyBitcoinJob obvious scam on: December 06, 2013, 12:20:10 PM
I mean, aren't they kind of obvious? Dang.

Exactly, even in the "bitcoin world" the old saying are still valid: "If it is too good to be true, then is is properly not true"

Thanks  Grin Maybe this helps?

You might getaway with it - make sure the two GPU's run on each of two 12V powerlines.

2867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can i add a 150Watt Graphic Card to my PC? on: December 06, 2013, 09:46:28 AM
Hey all,

right now i am mining with just one graphic card (HD 7850). My pc is running constantly on 200Watts (max. 250).

I just have a 500 Watt PSU. So my question is: Can I add a 150Watt Graphic Cards (like 6950 / 5850 / 5870)
to my PC Huh (I got anouth cables )

Thanks for your help Smiley

I was mining BTC with a HD7850 and a noname 500W PSU back in February - I had stability issues with that setup, after I changed to a 600W corsair gaming PSU, everything was nice and stable. As said before, you have to calculate on the 12V rails.

Without knowing the specs on you PSU, my stomach feel say that you cannot run a additional mining GPU on you 500W PSU, unless your PSU has an powerful and stable 12V rail.

heh sounds like a silent miner on a botnet!

The PC will definitely not be silent in terms of noise - if hashing at full speed Wink

I have ordered my shares through http://www.dzminercoop.com - and typed in my dividend address in the order notes.

I is necessary to post the dividend address in this thread as well?  - or is all fine and dandy by just using the DZ order page?

International trading with Bitcoin and other currencies (£,$,€) follows "supply and demand".

It actually very easy to explain with bitcoins, because $ is also depended on nationalbond, interest rates and oilproduciton, which bitcoin right now is almost independent from.

When you see the price for BTC go up, that means that the demand is higher than the supply.
When you see the price for BTC go down, that means that the demand is lower than the supply.

Lets say a bunch of people start selling a lot of BTC, that will cause the price for bitcoin to go down.
On the other hand if everybody is holding on to their bitcoins, then will the price for bitcoin go up (since the introduction of new BTC is rather slow and constant).

About the mining, yes, the mining is processing the transaction. However there is also a small "mathematical puzzle" that needs to be solved. The more more processing power the network has, the harder is the "puzzle" to solve (aka difficulty), this will secure a constant introduction of new BTC.

September 2012: My bank sends me a letter. They refused my loan application. It reads between the lines: "No because fuck you".
September 2012: I empty my little savings account from that bank and convert it all to bitcoins. Because fuck them.

Sorry for useless self-celebration post but since a few weeks I'm on a natural high.

That is a great story. You should definitely save that letter - since it is a direct cause for your BTC investment.

I am sorry for your loss, I know how you fell right now.

I know this might not bring much comfort, but there are positive and negative in every action, try see the positive and then will you feel better.

Use this incident as a learning experience:
Start making it a custom to have a strong password policy (Most people are sometimes too sloppy with this).

And all the other good safety stuff:
Use different password for different sites.
Use 2-3 way authentication (when available)
Use special email account for you bitcoin business.

This might save you much more money in the future than you have lost today, if you learn your self to be "paranoid" on the internet.

Again, sorry for your loss, I hope the best for you and I am sure you will recover.

2875  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sold under $880, what should I do? on: December 05, 2013, 12:24:01 PM
Sold 0.2 BTC at 1210 just before I went to bed last night. So at least there's that...

Good call Wink

I panic sold a few coins at $930, got a cheeky buy order sat on $550

Panic sold a few coins at $970, gonna have nice holidays and proper Xmas presents.
The rest of my stash is away from the exchange anyway.

Cheers

I hope you and your family will have a merry x-mas, cheers.
