2861  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalons in Stock ag on: March 26, 2013, 02:37:48 AM
You cannot add that amount of "Avalon ASIC Unit – Batch Three" to the cart because there is not enough stock (130 remaining).
2862  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Batch #3 Not selling as fast.... on: March 26, 2013, 01:51:09 AM
I'm very tempted to pull the trigger on some Batch #3, 4-module units ....  However I have yet to receive the Batch 1 order, this is why I hesitate.

I can't decide... can anyone maybe help sway me in favour of pulling the trigger on the order??  Grin

Im hesitant myself. I think it smells a little fishy that they are only taking bitcoins and no refunds. They come off saying yeah we are supporting bitcoin by only taking bitcoin however, there is no refund. Even if they did promote a refund who are we going to complain to if you don't get anything back. Think about it... a currency that is not accepted as a real currency YET... The better business bureau would probably laugh at us and ask wtf is a bitcoin. Plus if you didn't even get anything from batch 1.... I wouldn't invest .

Another thought to... All the money that they are making from these orders is more capital in their pockets to build more machines for themselves. I wouldn't doubt your Avalon rig has about 2 months of burn in testing on it already. The unit are real for sure but we would all be crazy not to think that these companies such as BFL and Avalon aren't using these for their own potential gains. They will ship a few out here an there to keep people with the mind set that they are shipping which will acquire more orders. Im putting myself in the shoes of these companies...if I had the key to make millions of dollars and be set for life ...why share it ?

hedging? what if bitcoin fails? at least you got money from the ASIC

possible reasons:
too much overclocking
defective hardware
2866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: reactivating an old wallet.dat on: March 26, 2013, 12:30:11 AM
or if you don't want to compromise your wallet, use pywallet and extract your keys to another client. (like electrum or multibit)
2867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can't download blockchain. on: March 26, 2013, 12:29:27 AM
The wallet crashed when I started chrome afer reboot because of wallet prob. Since changing from chrome I haven't had the trouble I was with 8.1. It reminds me of the old days in the days when addressing problems happen when two programs tried using the same space way back wen 2KB was massive. Smiley
placebo
2868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0 Active connections - (out of sync) on: March 26, 2013, 12:27:52 AM
All of them just idle at Connecting to (hostname)... then after 5 mins it comes up that it couldn't connect on port 8333: Connection failed. So is this my ISP or maybe router doing this?

Note: I've since completely reinstalled windows so as to remove any possible viruses.
if tcp at 8333 isn't blocked, the screen should go empty (connected), and go back to command prompt after a while (with no error messages).

so it's either your router or isp. try eliminating your router by connecting your computer directly to the modem.
2869  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: CANCELLED [Group Buy in China] Avalon batch #3 on: March 26, 2013, 12:00:22 AM
Where do you look for that number ?
go on http://store.avalon-asics.com, try to buy 999 units. it will fail and tell you how many units are actually in stock.
2870  Other / Archival / ordered avalon batch 3 with PSU, wat do? on: March 25, 2013, 11:36:43 PM
I don't want the PSU (because it says it causes customs issues). I already paid so is there a way to change the order?
2871  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite & Tomb Raider, Win 7 Ultimate, BF3, Metro 2033 on: March 25, 2013, 01:10:33 AM
just a heads up: crysis 3 is $30 right now. from the looks of it, it's not really popular. you might want to decrease the price down to $20 if you want a sale.
2872  Economy / Goods / Re: Avalon Batch 2 Pre-Order #666 - [Now on BitMit] (reduced price) on: March 25, 2013, 12:51:27 AM
500 BTC is outrageous. that would imply that difficulty will rise more than 5x between the time batch #2 and #3 comes out.
2873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: is sha256 for a private key really secure? on: March 25, 2013, 12:44:48 AM
sha's output is already "random".

http://www.prq.se/?p=tunnel&intl=1  are who I used to use, run by a famous dude who don't give a toss. Hates paypal & loves btc.

Never use a .com company, they bend over for the FEDS, Homeland, CIA, Mafiaa  etc etc.

Also, some helpful links:

all that means is that the domain can be taken down.
