All this talk of ASICMiner product not making ROI is a little bit short-sighted, and leaves me a bit confused at times.
Look at a timeline 275-360 days away and you begin to get a more reasonable picture, even including the difficulty increases.
It's a bit amusing that I mumble to myself many times a day with pool payouts set at 0.1 BTC, that I'll say to "Ooh, just ROI'd on another Erupter USB..." (couple hours later) "Oooh ! I just ROI'd on another Erupter USB" (couple more hours later) "Oooh ! I just paid for another Erupter USB..." etc
Maybe I'm missing something somewhere, but I've never been into Bitcoin mining for hopes of a quick ROI; it just happened to work out due to timing and persistence that I'm way in the black.
I realize that ROIing on 0.1 BTC Erupters is a different matter entirely than ROIing on 2 BTC Erupters, but on a long enough time-line, they WILL pay for themselves. I've calculated that timeline to be about a year, and I'm OK with that all things considered.
YMMV of course, but just wanted to offer a different perspective.

Said the guy that I just proved to, showing that Josh/BFL lies.
Oh? Care to provide a single shred of proof that I've lied? There's not a single person here that's been able to back up this claim, yet I've demonstrated it through your own posts multiple times that you're a liar. "We'll be shipping in October, 2012" "We'll be shipping in November, 2012" "We'll be shipping in December, 2012" "We'll be shipping in January, 2013" "We'll be shipping in February, 2013" "We'll be shipping in March, 2013"...

It appears that the man tried to order two singles for the old rate. So Jody corrected it by putting him down for 1 order at the new rate, telling him he cannot get his money back in the process. Which obviously upset the customer.
Who is now demanding a refund. (The customer holds some blame...)
What a mess in that house.

Jody just "bitch slapped" a customer then put their funds towards a product they didn't order. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fs21.postimg.org%2Fdaacrzh6f%2F2013_08_27_155136.png&t=663&c=ZvyM07MTE0dThA) It looks like the old generation is now defunct. You can no longer order old BFL hardware. It has reach EOL (End of Life). Grand Theft: Butterfly Labs unless they refund the money.
Discontinued on April 4th 2013, but still continued with pre-orders for the same generation after that ? I give up. *shrugs*

Yeah, I'm sure a core group of rabid, psychotic, tin-foil hat wearing conspiracy nuts with personality disorders are real high on their priority list.
Judging by his posts on these forums, we should take Inaba at his word. The man arguably has extensive first-hand experience with personality disorders. I'm not sure I've ever encountered a situation where a company officer publicly refers to his customers with such disdain and malice, and has gone on to become a legitimate, successful business.

"Sorry, it's impossible to conduct any sort of business on these forums."

When did it become acceptable for COOs of companies to go Full-Dox on people? I missed that memo. Enlighten us, Josh. I bet you don't have an answer.
Just another proof that BFL people are dangerous. You should go in court for those public accusations. IANAL, but I'm fairly certain that Inaba has actionably libeled Bick.

The noise:signal ratio is becoming unreasonable.
IMO, these sub-forums are becoming a hot-bed for experimentation in fraudulent behavior, sockpuppetry, and shilling. It's beginning to turn me off of Bitcoin mining entirely if this sub-forum is the primary place for discussion of custom hardware.
I don't have any solutions, but I welcome any changes that work to make this community more healthy for Bitcoin's image.

More unrest in the house of BFL? Possible fraud or deception by BFL. https://forums.butterflylabs.com/pre-sales-questions/4538-possible-fraud-deception-bfl.html#post54449 Post deletion in 3... 2... For posterity. --- Regards,
In February this year I made an order for a Jalapeno, after two months or so, I requested by email the delivery and was told it would be for June, so that about the beginning of May, I decided to place another order, this rather larger, which divided into two parts.
Send another email by talking of my Jalapeno, and telling them I wanted to do another order, I was told the Jalapeno be delayed a bit but I could place another order and that in principle the delivery would be normal, i also confirmed that if I request that I would make a refund of orders they would do me no problems.
I am requesting a refund of the two large orders that you make. In the first post I was told all sales were final and not to reimburse the order. It took over a week to respond, and they responded by talking of themselves told me I would do a refund if requested another week past and I'm still waiting. I hope not to be cheated, but I use other than to request a refund, to warn other buyers of what can happen. If this is resolved well passeth to delete the thread for doing bad publicity unfounded.
This has been translated with Google Translate, so it may contain some misspelling. Thank you.
I created a mirror thread to this thread, the Bitcointalk forum.

Also I ordain in the other forums on mining, I find.

Haha, I knew you would back out of your commitment, yet again. You asked, I delivered, you failed. End of story.
I'm not sure what the $200 issue is, but if this is all that's holding up the release of information pertaining to FCC certification of your ASIC chips, I would happily fund Bruno $200 USD equivalent in Bitcoin to enable him to satisfy whatever seems to be the crux of this dispute between you two. Chips don't need an FCC certification, devices do. Reference: 3 Subassemblies of a Digital Device Circuit boards, integrated circuit chips, and other components that are completely internal to a digital device are subassemblies of the digital device. (Note, however, that circuit boards or cards that are connected to external devices or increase the operating or processing speed of a digital device are considered peripherals.) Examples of subassemblies include internal memory expansion boards, internal disk drives, internal disk drive controller boards, CPU boards, and power supplies. Section 15.101(e) Subassemblies may be sold to the general public or to manufacturers for incorporation into a final product. While subassemblies are not directly subject to FCC technical standards or equipment authorization requirements, digital devices containing subassemblies must still comply with the FCC's technical requirements. Accordingly, manufacturers of subassemblies should design their products so the digital devices into which they are installed will comply with the technical standards. Thank you for the clarification and correction. This articulates what I was trying to get at very clearly.

EDIT: To be clear, "chips" is a general term used to describe the electronics/components built around controlling and powering your ASIC processors, including the SHA256 ASIC processing chip itself.

Can somebody confirm that what Josh linked to is a BFL Bitcoin Miner. I'm seeing pics that don't resemble anything I've seen before stemming from Camp BFL. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FddWZHR2.png&t=663&c=ADHSWhB7IjIjKg) == ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FHgfObQ2.jpg&t=663&c=TUoO73KkJmUW6w) != ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F1uoLiK2.jpg&t=663&c=aJGGF5BYk8PZjw)

What relevance does an Asustek Pad directly have to do with any of your ASIC products ? We are specifically interested in information regarding FCC certification of your ASIC chips. Providing a link to that would help end this unproductive back-and-forth once and for all, and should serve to reassure your potential customers, that the devices you are delivering to them are safe.

Does anyone have any insight as to when sales/coupons will resume for those eligible to purchase at 0.1 BTC ? Apologies if I overlooked a post somewhere that may have answered this already.

Inaba,
Q: Were any of your current gen ASIC products granted FCC approval ? What sort of certification processes did you go through ? Q: Will your next generation PCIe products be undergoing formal certification and compliance testing ? Q: On what legal grounds are you refusing to honor refunds, in apparent violation of FTC regulations ?

... let your employers know you are mentally unbalanced and emotionally erratic, you are a danger to children without a doubt.
Without a doubt, we should listen to this man. He has extensive experience with being mentally unbalanced and emotionally erratic. Not sure I have the stomach to think about what sort of danger Inaba might pose to children, however.

I not sure that bcp19 is Josh.
More than likely someone like Ivan Frimmel, or another patron of the Shitbox.

For sure we will see some 20nm next year
IMO, while it should be technically possible, gut-check says I don't see it happening for Bitcoin ASICs in 2014 due to excessive NRE costs. If we're extremely lucky, we might hear about something near Christmas 2014, but more than likely 2015 before being able to own physical 20nm ASICs.

By that definition, the answer is obviously no. However, the PROPER way to phrase it would be "BF Labs Inc. WILL process ALL preorders by September 30, 2013" Then the answer is yes. Define "process"
