2882  Economy / Scam Accusations / Stay away from bitcoinrigs.org on: December 11, 2013, 03:21:30 AM
Posted for a group of newbies

Original Post here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=365956.msg3909363#msg3909363

Hi,
I purchased some merchandise from bitcoinrigs.org and was informed at time of order that the order was on a 7 day backorder but would ship within the 7 days.  I patiently waited and after the 7 days expected some sort of shipping notice or further communication. I emailed to follow up and ask for tracking number.  No reply.  I followed up with a few more emails over the next few days.  Still no reply.  In the end I contacted my credit card company to proceed with a chargeback since the seller clearly has no desire to talk to customers after payment is made.  I don't know if they expected to just take the money and run or if they didn't have the product.  If they just couldn't supply the product then they should be straightforward to customers.  Either way I would stay far away from these guys.

Hope it helps someone looking to buy...  find an alternate source for your hardware.

Same issue. Took a little different approach.

Charge card line item provided a phone number for bitcoinrigs.org in Raleigh, NC. No response to phone calls. With reasonable confidence (but not 100%) linked that phone number to an address that was a UPS Store mailbox. Linked that to another web address which has "whois" info that matched the phone number and mailbox address which provided an individual's name as a POC. You can follow that trail a bit further if you are really interested, but can't do much with the info you get. I put it all in a package and filed a consumer complaint with the State of North Carolina Department of Justice. If anyone is interested the link for the complaint is:

http://www.ncdoj.gov/complaint.aspx

The bitcoinrigs.org web site says they are a "Crypto Mining Corp Company", but the State of North Carolina Secretary of State's corporation search does not find that as a registered North Carolina Corporation.

I know the credit card company will credit my account if I submit there, but I'd like to make at least a feeble attempt to see if the bitcoinrigs.org will communicate and/or follow through on my order.

Yes sir, that's completely fine.

Bitcoin is currently at $935, faucet owners have to get their ROI. So, they adjust the payout amount according to the market value of BTC

Exactly.
2888  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Transaction visualization on: December 10, 2013, 07:23:14 PM
It looks very clean and nice!   Shocked
Could you extend the max number of circles displayed?

I agree, more than 300 transactions would be nice.
2889  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Transaction visualization on: December 10, 2013, 07:12:43 PM
I started on a little project to visualize the transactions in the bitcoin network. It takes the data real time from blockchain and displays them in a nice way. Check it here: http://bitcoin.interaqt.nl/

Let me know what you think! And if you have any ideas/suggestions, let me know as well. Thanks! Cheesy

This is pretty amazing, have you considered making it open source in the future?

Faucet rewards decreased from 0.00000200 btc to 0.00000020btc why? its now time wasting
How to sustained the website if the payout very high ? Of course they only want to get profit

I was the admin of DevFaucet, most of us don't run faucets to make profit. Sorry you think that. Throughout the time DevFaucet was up (and we hope to revive it one day) we barely broke even after dispenses and server costs.

2892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are these transactions on blockchain.info? on: December 10, 2013, 06:53:28 PM
Not exactly sure what you're asking but, it's possible to save on transaction fees sending to multiple addresses at the same time.
2893  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can the U.S. government sell seized bitcoins? on: December 10, 2013, 06:51:14 PM
Of course they can, why wouldn't they?

I think there are certain legal proceedings though.

I'd like to drop my reservation of episode 16, I'll have Meeting Mastercoin done by this weekend.
could I reserve E16??

It'd make sense you could but that's up to Qwk.

Each reservation is made on a per case basis.

I'm not too crazy about that holiday background with the snowflakes, it seems as if it clashes with the other colors but that's just me two cents.

Thanks Smiley

You say "must be legal in the US" - that's kind of hard to define at the moment when it comes to bitcoins. Could a bitcoin ATM company rent the space?

Yes of course, I was speaking in terms of gambling sites and such.
