Seems a good idea with extra load for the mods ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I guess the mods are already having difficult time with the tasks they have to perform for all these new comers are spamming everyday on top of it you are suggesting another work for them. By the way I liked the idea.

I already expressed it before and saying again, we might need more mods IMO. The number of accounts are increasing everyday and obviously the number of posts as well. Every day it is going very difficult for the existing mods to look after all these cases. That's why I do not blame them.

Lately I am watching project development board. What I noticed is, a lot of brand new / Newbie accounts everyday posting services which conflict the forum interest. One of it, is bumping up service. When I see any of these topics I report IMO this is the best I can do. I noticed a lot of members also want to report them too. Hence I have created this topic to keep a log for these bumping service abusers. Whenever I will encounter anyone doing such thing I will add them in this thread. It will be easier for you to report them (the topic) too. Here is the one I found few mins ago: BIFY - ICO PR AGENCY on bitcointalk.com (archive) - reportedHello! My name is Vladislav, I represent the company promoting of ICO projects on the Bitcointalk forum. Is it interesting to you that your thread (ANN / Bounty) will be constantly in top place 24 hours a day? This will give you the fact that your project will be constantly on view and will attract more attention from investors and bounty hunters. We constantly up it to the top in order to attract attention to your project. We have the cheepest price and I can show you an example of a project with which we are currently working. Price for 1 thread: - 1.5 ETH per 1 week - 5 ETH per 1 month For example please write PM

Would be a nice feature. Maybe this has been answered as too difficult or whatever - I don't always keep up. It will be easier to see the received merits on the posts for individual member. It should not be a very difficult task, just a (may be few) database query and some script modification to print the result on the show posts page. It would be nice to see it has been added.

Why? and how can i get some to send, over and over month??
Good morning LOL (I guess all those days you were asleep). Welcome to the new world of BitcoinTalk forum. I guess it's time for you do to little study. Have you just bought this account? What have you done with your initial sMerits.....?
-I have the same question.

The theme behind merit is to identify quality posts and award it for the good work. It encourage the receiver to spam less and be more constructive in their thoughts. At-least that's what I personally feel after receiving every merit. I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by: - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc. - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.
What you are saying is create topics, invite people to comment (possibly spam) in it and receive merits. I can bring you a topic asking how many hours someone spend on trading, has several pages of answers and most of them are from sig spammers. 1. Give merit to people who create threads and topics are becoming popular. If the topic has 10 pages of comments - then to add 5 merits.
100 activity = 10 merits! 200 activity = 100 merits!! Why do you even need merits here? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) 2. If a member has more than 100 activity on the forum is to enroll him 10 merits. More than 200 activity, give 100 merits.
My advise to you is... This is a forum and it has it's own set of rules, adopt and accept it. You will step up. It's not hard to earn. When you join a community, you observe, you learn, you give, they take, keep giving, earn respect first. Everything else will follow.

It's no good looking on the beginner's or discussion boards. They are all about bounty and air drops and social networking stuff. I'd like to award members that are interested in Bitcoin and reputable crypto currencies, but I've almost given up trying to find them.
I have the same problem. I need to get rid of sMerit. I'll send you 20 merits to track Cody Ceci down for civil proceedings. ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Do you consider a member as a new member LOL I am joking, never mind. I don't know how you guys play this role of giving sMerits. I almost forget every time that I have some sMerits to give away

I just want to help improve the posts. Seems like people only want to empty their bucket of shit on me.
Look, mate, if you intended to help people in just the way of a merit source, while you have a lot of smerit why did you not think that first. In a month of April, there's a lot of smerit you've sent away and mostly in altcoins board in solaris project and some of these I think not deserving to have smerit. Giving 1 to 3 smerit I think is just enough for 1 account. So now you are here asking to be a merit source? 42/72 which is over 58% sent to the Solaris project post. The OP claims to be a developer but he still has not developed his human psychology. Lucky that you became a hero member before the merit system introduced or it would be a very very difficult journey for you to have at least a decent rank (I did you see your post history yet). Ya, I get your point. I am not independent enough. I have good intentions to also give merit on other posts, but I understand your standpoint.
- Your action speaks for your intentions. Never mind ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Is there any such clear statement available? Can you please quote it? I know Merit sources aren't allowed to sell Merit, but other users don't have any restrictions. Disclaimer: I'm not buying (Lol) nor selling Merit. Selling merit isn't against the rules and ...there is no firm rule are totally different like there is a difference in saying, I am poor and I am broke. One is accepting without further question and another one is adopting but working for the better outcome. The amount of fools and confused (I would say tricky merit abusers)people we see around, they will easily use your statement as a bait to create a ground for them to debate. Selling merit isn't against the rules, but could get you red trust.
Merit sales, transfers to aliases, back-and-forth trading, etc. are not much of an issue. All illegitimate merit will decay, and will account for a tiny and very expensive fraction of the total merit economy. It's basically a rounding error; fight it where convenient, but waste no sleep over it. - I guess theymos never thought of the aggressiveness we see for selling/exchanging merits from the abusers. Thank you for the digging for me @LoyceV

Hello guys, today i saw a russian telelegram grup about merit. He sell merit on 20$ for eatch. Look on the screenchoot: https://wmpics.pics/di-EKV9.jpg Some peoples buy merits and its very bad. Don't say about what they will be deceived. Also notice on the Russian thread many suggestion from Newbies: How buy merit or price on merit. In this thead man official sell merit: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3301296.0Merit become a new coin on this forum and it the biggest problem. To my opinion moderator must be a ban all, who create a similar topic. Thanks for reading and what you do about it? How to struggle with this problem? I just reported the post with the reference of English translation. Selling merit isn't against the rules, but could get you red trust. Theymos said not to worry about merit trading too much, in the long run they won't have any sMerit left. Let them spend $100 on 5 Merit, that's not doing them any good, they're just wasting their money.
Is there any such clear statement available? Can you please quote it?Theymos said not to worry from the point of running out sMerits not from the point of open buying/selling IMO.

As coin developer for multiple coins I want to reward people with Merit when they deliver good contributions to this forum. Can you please make me a "Merit source" so I can keep rewarding people when the post stuff that really helps. Currently my sMerit is zero. Thanks in advance!
And this is how you spent your merits.... 2we are good now, just received first MN 0.799 reward and first stake 0.199 cheers ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) 2staking icon still gray for me even with staking=1 at wallet conf fresh blockchain and unlocked wallet. Anything else im missing?
Yes, a bit of patience, if you have upgraded to newest version. Blockchain needs time to pull everyone on the longest chain after the PoS switch. Price is getting stable on exchanges, soon will be back to business as usual. This should have been avoided with more testing, but PoW2PoS obviously is not a simple thing. 2Everyone should keep calm in such hard time of Solaris project. However, Solaris team have released the newest version of wallet, which has likely completely fixed the problems. I don't see any reason to be panic at the moment.
2hello when Masternode Rewards will resume ?because actually my masternode does not make any rewards Solaris is a great project, will follow you for life.
It's been mentioned a number of times in the last few pages on this thread alone, the masternodes fix happens at block 263996 , It's currently on block 263459 so 537 blocks to go, Average block time is 1 min so its around 9 hrs away. 10Solaris - KuCoin Update
Dear Solaris Community,
We are pleased to announce that Solaris trading, withdrawals and deposits have now resumed on KuCoin.
Explanation on what happened
As majority of you are aware, Solaris made a transition to be fully proof-of-stake on the 15th of April, which has caused network instability and eventually led to a temporary blockchain stall. The core team released a mandatory emergency wallet update which restored the blockchain operation within 24 hours of the stall.
Due to unforeseen technical issues after the mandatory update, KuCoin temporarily halted trading, deposits and withdrawals for Solaris. We want to underline that there was no actual issue with the Solaris software or KuCoin exchange, but an unfortunate error that happened due to time pressure and lack of preparation and notification for the mandatory update. Due to this error, a number of accounts on KuCoin got credited XLR to their balances that did not technically exist on the blockchain. As you are aware, this caused a sudden drop in price as users started selling their XLR until the trading market was closed. All issues have now been fixed and and operations restored back to working order, and we want to thank KuCoin for their cooperation and quick responses in these urgent matters.
We want to deeply apologize for the inconveniences caused.
Solaris Core Team
22Announced specifications look very good. Do you plan another types of bounties except Translations? I will ready to participate in Signature bounty if reward will be honest, when my actual will finish.
10How to Update your Masternode: Log in to your VPS cd solaris ./solaris-cli stop wget https://github.com/Solaris-Project/Solaris/releases/download/v2.4.0.0/solaris-daemon-2.4.0.0-linux64.tar.gz tar xzvf solaris-daemon-2.4.0.0-linux64.tar.gz ./solarisd -daemon really only for me happens this problem that I need to reindex every time I update/restart wallet ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Try -resync? ./solaris-cli stop ./solarisd -resync -daemon 10Is this update mandatory for the local qt wallet too?
v2.4.0.0 is mandatory update for everyone !
Thank you for your support !! 25 and 5 accidentally gone to theymos and The Pharmacist Let's rename the forum to SolarisTalk

Another suggestion is to change the way people log in. Instead of only asking for usernames, I think asking for email only when logging in is more secure since users can hide their email from public's eye, making hacks more difficult to attempt. Also, if the user wishes to, I think signing a message every time he/she log in option should also be implemented as well but it must be optional and can be turned off by the user when logged on his/her account.
The whole idea is to avoid verified email address. Email services are not anonymous. i.e: Gmail service has a central server. So any agency can pull up information contacting your email service provider.
I do not agree with all this, it seems complicated that everything should be locked, what if it loses 1 key ,,? I feel with a theme that is now still better than the method you gave like the picture above, make a headache.
Your solution... Then the threads that will be getting created here en masse will be "I lost my Secret Key please reset".
I agree with you however I guess people will take this very seriously because it's a secret key. >>> For my Ledger neno affiliate login I only have the Secret Key and I know that If I lose it then I am going to lose my entire account and earned BTC in there. >>> For my Bitcoin wallet I am very careful of saving my 12 word phrase because I know if I lose any of the word then I am going to lose all my stored BTC. By the way we will still have these kind of people who will even lose their secret key. By default these people are careless, forum won't need them for good (I guess). We already talked about it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
If you use an online wallet, you are effectively using a banking service, and Bitcoin was created to avoid that.
If you decide to use a full node, then you may need advice and help to set this up, and this is one of the reasons for a newbie to Bitcoin to join this forum.
- Looks like you have a point here. I will need a little bit study may be. What happens if you prefer an altcoin? What is it with the altcoin. Sorry I did not get it.

Many other forums implement this sort of payment system to regulate quality.
This is a surprise for me. Can you give me some reference forums please? By the way this idea of fees is ridiculous IMO. Please suit yourself with any membership website where they are selling service. Every merit I earn, I feel encouraged and motivation to do more. Do something worth receiving merit, you will understand the feeling.

I probably need to review my ignore list. I had mdayonliner on it for some reason, and I've just removed that.
Yeah you do!!! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Honestly speaking I thought the same that you ignored me and somehow realised you have a long list of ignore list. Hey it's completely ok with me although it felt a little bad at the beginning. Thank you mocacinno for the encouragement.

Besides that, I think the forum should require a specific format when citing an external source(or the forum rules should require users to specify the text he/she copy pasted in the cited link by highlighting the copy pasted text in bold) and should require one to have further discussion besides the copy pasted content in an article in order to prevent others to spam copy pasted post from cited articles.
I will also vouch for an stander formatting so that it get's clear that the contents were cited. Jet cash and LoyceV's formatting suggestion seems acceptable. Honestly speaking, we would not even need to worry about all these if the members who are citing, would put their own thoughts in the topics.

The simplest solution to strengthen account security is by implementing / adding 2 factor authentication to the forum. This is a feature that is long overdue and any modern site in which your account has some sort of monetary value should have 2FA.
2FA is also another option the can consider. Remember theymos wants the users to be anonymous and using a verified email address can give a clue to expose your identity. This is super complicated and probably requires an extensive amount of custom code.
By the way what makes you think that it will be super complicated and will require extensive amount of custom code ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

Another good example of hard working and never giving up attitude. Entrepreneurship is hard. 99% can not survive. Those who do they live their life in the fullest. Good luck mate. Hopefully, you will find your way out. Keep up the good work.

Hello Brain, I really can feel your frustration however there are very little you can do. I think the forum needs more mods cope with the number of issues increasing everyday. We just do not have enough moderator for all of these. Would you mind giving a feedback on my proposed suggestion: [Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk. It's really related to account security. PS: Good luck in recovering the account.
