What do you think will be higher at the time Neptune starts shipping - its hashrate or number of pages this topic has  Grin

3000 pages you reckon?
2882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 06, 2013, 02:42:13 AM

And the battery system?

Bad investment I think... Unless it is grid-tied with a Feed In Tariff to offset -- but even then... waste-o-money!

Dunno its less than the cost of one Neptune Cheesy

but the power consuption is unclear as of now. 2500W or 3000W or 3500W?

Dunno but I might need one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4kW-SOLAR-PANEL-PV-SYSTEM-mcsSUPPLIED-INSTALLED-QUOTE-Power-One-Aurora-3-6-outD-/110995402351?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19d7d76e6f

What is the investment difference for an individual paying in $USD and buying the exact amount of BTC needed with the same $USD? Nothing.

The argument that one should have used $USD instead of BTC because one would have had more BTC is ridiculous. To make such an assertion, one must acknowledge that their argument is essentially that one should have purchased the same amount of BTC they spent immediately after spending them. Every time someone says, "you should have spent $USD instead of BTC", they're really saying, "you should have bought the same amount of BTC after spending them"... which is the same thing as saying, "you should have bought BTC when it was cheaper".

Well thank you captain hindsight, but that advice is absolutely useless!

LOL

You are saying, that you paid 40 BTC for a Saturn...from KNC?
40 total?, or 46 total?.
Trying to grasp this....

I paid 40 BTC to KNC for my October Saturn, delivered Oct 28th (Some people paid 80 for a Jupiter at that time).

I paid 6 BTC for two upgrade modules, making it a Jupiter.

I've mined 15 BTC so far, thus I am down 31 BTC as of Today.

I bought when BTC was around $100 orso.

I'm just trying to point out that there are quite a few of us that paid BTC, that are never going to recoup their investment in KNC.

Shouldn't have paid BTC then?

Doesn't matter if you've payed with BTC or $
buying or holding BTC was the better way

Yes yes, how did you do then holding BTC?

Have heard back from AMT (Advanced Miners)

That is an absolute scam. Please don't purchase from them. They have not signed anything with or anyone else most likely.

Avenger...
I love you too....sweetie....    I sense a bit of jealousy and resentment.
Fact is... those who got KNC Equipment did well, and continue to do so.
You should have got one... admit it.
Your bashing is like a fart in the wind....   insignificant.
Guess you can't tell us where the asic deals recommended by Avenger are?

I'm still down about 31 BTC on my Saturn/now Jupiter miner received in October, it's mining great, but I am not sure if it will pay for itself even in BTC?

I do admit that the November batch will pay for itself easily, even in BTC, but for us October BTC purchasers, this is not the case.

If you don't mind me asking....
How did you end up paying 31 BTC for a saturn, and 2 boards?
I'm scratching my head on that one...

40 BTC, October Saturn, 6 BTC for two upgrade boards is what I paid total.
You are saying, that you paid 40 BTC for a Saturn...from KNC?
40 total?, or 46 total?.
Trying to grasp this....

Saturn was $3795 pre-order right? Didnt BTC drop down to like $75 in July? Could be when he bought if he used BTC to pay for his miner then.

Biffa,

Can you share KnCMiner contacts via PM?

We were trying to contact them many times, but no success. Now answers at e-mails, private message here. Total ignoring =(.

You can ask about our requests. I used my name George Wader.

Thanks.
...why do list KnC on your website, if you haven't talked to them yet?  Does that mean your other "signed agreements with some of the most relevant mining hardware vendors" are also misleading?

Requiring us to provide proof that a company you're advertising is a scam doesn't sound like you are "superb in defending our buyers' interests".

Sorry dude; you screwed up.  I don't think you're going to get any traction here, without a lot of damage control.

Unfortunately they don't need to, they will get loads of suckers in the public to part with their cash, and they will only come on here afterwards and find out they got scammed.
2892  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: December 05, 2013, 06:19:30 PM
On the web site it talks about "power-save" mode and "turbo" mode and how the hashing rate and power consumption increases or decreases depending on what mode you are running in.

However the miners themselves are available in hash performance models that don't match up with either the power-save or turbo modes.

e.g. Coincraft Desk

  • Available in: 400 / 600 / 800 / 1000 GH/s
  • Power-save mode of 150 / 300 / 450 / 600 / 750 GH/s.
  • Turbo mode up to 300 / 600 / 900 / 1200 / 1500 GH/s.

Is that correct? Is the advertised available hashing speed something like a "middle" mode?

What I'm trying to understand is if I order the 1TH/s model, will it have a turbo mode that lets it run at 1.5Th/s and a power save mode that lets it run at 750GH/s

Thanks
2893  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Who was first with 28nm? on: December 05, 2013, 05:19:41 PM
I was with Sam from KnC a few days ago
KnC's inability to tell a consistent story was one of the reasons I happily chose to not to business with them. They've clearly stated both before and after product production that it was a structured asic run, and their power results support it. Ultimately it doesn't matter if they used crackerjack boxes to make their masks, at the end what matters is the specs and they're a mixed story. I mean, sure, feel free to not care.  But a 2x increase in operating cost, and thermal load is not "a few watts", especially for those of us not interested in a high risk gamble involving mining for a few months and then throwing the hardware out.

By all means, be happy with their product— they shipped a working device to many people mostly on time, better than a lot of other vendors, and many of those customers will be happy enough with a product that goes to the landfill before the bitfury and bitmain devices. Though in terms of feature size I don't see a reason to brag about 28nm when it doesn't achieve substantially better hashrate per U or hashrate per watt even close to multiple competing 55nm designs.

I am very happy with my KNC hardware, but I do have some questions for those who have been keeping up with KnC so I can properly evaluate their promises:

I assume the extra hashrate over the promise came from overclocking (400 -> 550) and overvolting (550 -> 650). Power consumption likewise had to increase at least linearly, but likely exponentially (Huh -> 600 -> 850).

So if this is correct, what's the news on underclocking/undervolting firmware or tuning API?

Would you have egg on your face if after some min-maxing, machines can run and say... 800 MH/J? Or rather, at what efficiency would you have egg on your face?

Tuning is currently only available for Batch1 (October) models. Although its expected soon for the November batch

Hi,

Just worried about all the scammers out there.

Can you confirm that http://miningheart.com is a legitimate reseller of KnC? They claim to be a middleman for many Bitcoin manufacturers.

Their aboutus page http://miningheart.com/about_us says:

"Our top priority is to ship the best mining hardware as quickly as possible. Because the company has signed agreements with some of the most relevant mining hardware vendors, MiningHeart managers are superb in defending our buyers' interests."

Thanks for your feedback

Hi,

This website is a complete scam. Please stay away from websites like these and please inform others to do the same.

We do have authorised resellers, however, all purchases will always be directed to our webshop.

I really wish, when I pay for next day, they DONT use saver. Saver is not an overnight service.
It is across most of Europe:
Next business day delivery during the day to almost all European business centres
End of second business day delivery to most business addresses in the United States and all major business centres in Canada
Delivery during the day within two to three business days to countries in Asia.
Which UPS service is next day to USA?
There are several, worldwide express is one name UPS uses.   But there are several that leave Europe and arrive in USA for delivery the next day.   Hint, they are not called "saver".

However from Sweden, UPS Express, Express Plus and Express Saver only promise delivery by 2nd business day to the US. Which type you choose only identifies what time of the day it arrives on the 2nd business day. http://www.ups.com/content/se/en/shipping/time/service/shipping/index.html

Both I and my company have shipped plenty of packages to sweden via essentially 1 day (discounting time zones). UPS Express Saver is 2 rungs down, Below Express and Express Plus. Dont charge and advertise for a overnight service when its not.

Bob I'm not advertising it, its there on the SWEDISH UPS page. Did you read the link? You know that different countries have different levels of service than the US does right? That getting something out of Sweden may take longer than getting it out of the US?

What did they switch to last time Fedex? That worked out well for them, UPS is probably the best service they can provide.

2898  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: Advanced Mining Technology (AMT) on: December 05, 2013, 10:00:32 AM
Its nice that AMT folks are posting on the thread. I'd really like to hear from a customer. Or see an unboxing video, etc. I have money waiting to be spent with someone.

You won't because they haven't shipped anything yet. And even if they did your money spent now would only buy you something shipping in February.

No Bif.. death of salesman reference?

We have been shipping but did anyone ever think that maybe we havn't sold as much as KNC or the other guys? And the batches we ship are smaller!?

ALSO February is for the 1.2th! becuase we're backed up with pre-orders.

But if they want an 80ghs or a 128ghs those ship in 3 to 4 weeks from the date of payment.

No worries, I should maybe have said it "appears" that they haven't been shipping.

However you do have to agree that given that you are only now getting the cases organized and you haven't been able to show full shots of the chips or boards or a working system, it makes it hard to imagine what you are shipping.

Unless of course you are shipping something other than the systems you are showing on the site.

Can you provide us with a photograph of one of the working systems that you have shipped? Surely someone must have taken a phone pic or something when the first ones started coming off the production line and going out the door?

I think it would go a long way to pursuading people who are sitting on the fence to place orders, which surely is what you want.
2899  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Order kncminer to EU and then return VAT? on: December 04, 2013, 09:21:55 PM
VAT pay by knc everyone because they as company need give the "VAT" to government (the government check that annually) , the question is if he can get back the vat amount

Not true. Knc only charge VAT to orders being delivered to EU countries. If it is being shipped to a non EU country then there is no VAT added to the invoice.

All KNC prices are without VAT.

It is added at the end for EU country delivery destinations unless you have a VAT number.
2900  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Order kncminer to EU and then return VAT? on: December 04, 2013, 09:04:32 PM
Guys, I am not a EU citizen, but have friends in EU.
I want to preorder KNCMiner to my friend's addreess, using his name on shipping address and my name on billing address.
When the miner ships, I will fly to him to pick up the miner.
How can I return VAT at the airport when leaving with miner? What papers do I need to request from kncminer?
http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageVAT_ShowContent&id=HMCE_CL_000141&propertyType=document

Why though? Just get it delivered to your non eu address and dont pay VAT at all.
