Just downloaded the new wallet, fingers crossed it will start staking soon  Cheesy

Anyone got some more nodes? Only got one at the moment, thanks.

There are two DNS nodes hardcoded into the wallet. It connects to them as needed.
Peer discovery is a bit outdated but its not something I'm going to be focusing on anytime soon (as its not that important, we are not worried about some sort of 50% attack on the network).

Think I found another bug with the staking system...
trying to reproduce now.

ok, cool. Just downloaded the new wallet from your last link (https://mega.co.nz/#!bUgnwCAS!9RgCJZf2bz2HXGZiIc-4Sn9oIz_Mb_4Xdia6V0ehdm4)
and it still says version 0.7.7.0, can you please confirm this is the latest wallet with the stake fix.
yes, it is...
I'm going to be switching my wallet over to this new one (0.7.7). I advise everyone to do the same.
lol thanks, probably helps if I'd read the thread properly.

2883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay may begin accepting Bitcoin payments via its Braintree platform on: August 19, 2014, 02:26:38 PM
Ebay is a relic from the dark ages, decentralized marketplaces are the future for trading.

Couldn't care less if they begin accepting btc payments, think it's too little too late.

Electrum has been my favorite wallet so far for ease of use, looking forward to using DarkWallet when it gets released for Firefox!

Would probably say Armory for being one of the most secure wallets.
2887  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Grow BTC Without take a BIG RISK ? on: August 12, 2014, 05:41:33 PM
Would avoid trading or gambling if you're not willing to take any risk (especially if you don't know what you're doing).

Safest way would be to earn btc by providing services like dev work, graphic design etc

2888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will an altcoin ever reach $1 billion market cap again? on: August 12, 2014, 02:38:20 PM
Maybe in the future, can't see it happening any time soon in the current slump. Not nice seeing my portfolio losing value everyday  Angry  Cheesy
2889  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: mining with smartphone on: August 12, 2014, 02:31:41 PM
Makes no sense to try and mine btc nowadays, even with a huge mining rig you would be struggling to make any profit.

2891  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: August 12, 2014, 02:17:02 PM
Pure speculation but I think within a year btc should easily reach $1000 if not higher.
2892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What should I do with over $4-5 worth in BTC? on: August 12, 2014, 02:11:07 PM
Hold it and buy more asap, honestly don't think it will be long before the price of btc skyrockets.
2893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have my mother almost convinced. on: August 12, 2014, 01:53:58 PM
Good luck, I've given up trying to convince my family and friends to buy some btc.
2894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we have too many alt coins? on: August 12, 2014, 01:47:02 PM
There are some innovative new alts but it's getting harder and harder to find them due to crazy influx of crapcoins.
2895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me to make the right desicion on: August 06, 2014, 10:42:03 AM
Never used coinbase, blockchain.info is a decent wallet, just remember not to store too many btc on any online wallet service.

Ripple is a centralized turd of a currency, avoid like the plague.

I pretty much only use firefox so its definitely not an issue with firefox itself. I'm not sure why an addon would prevent you from visiting mega but you may want to try disabling all of them and see if it works. Then start enabling them one by one until you find the culprit. If you do find out which one is causing trouble it would be great to know. It sounds like you are a filthy mac user though so it may be a problem with the mac version of firefox. Again I don't see why, as a website is a website, is a website, etc. If its not a problem with visiting mega but with downloading from mega, it may be because mega downloads are not regular http downloads, they are actually preloaded via javascript to your browser and then passed from your browser to your computer. It's actually a really neat system. So if these downloads are not working it may be that your javascript is disabled in firefox, or not installed correctly.

lol just like to point out that I'm not a filthy mac user  Grin

If I disable all addons, Mega seems to work ok. I'll let you know when I find the culprit.

I'm not sure why some people can't access mega links?

Yeah my Firefox doesn't like downloading files from Mega (might be a conflict with one of my addons), I just use Opera when I need to download from there.
2899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: “BadUSB” exploit - How would you protect your bitcoins on backup memory sticks? on: August 04, 2014, 12:39:35 PM
Wonder whether this applies to people running Tails OS from USB sticks? Think I'll be stocking up on some SD cards (assuming they can't be exploited aswell).
