Look at this poor sap.

Quote
Rented 50Th/s to solo mine paycoins, downloaded the wallet from the site on a server and pointed the miners.
And affter 12 hours of mining over 270 blocks I discovered that I was mining a fork because of an error in the code??

Anyone has an idea how can I salvage even a fraction or at least decrease my losses?

7,385 XPY mined on a fork with 50TH/s rented power. So sad but so funny also. Somebody on HT advised him (as a joke) to have 51% of hashing power when it comes back online and impose his longer fork onto the network and he replied, "how do I do that?" Shit is just too funny.

He's not out a ton. Looking at nicehash rates, 50 Th for 12 hours is about $120 or so. It's not fun to lose that, but he's not going to lose his house over it. That's an education expense.

He thinks he's out 7300 * $20 = $150,000

He would've been set at just 400% apy!!

Sounds greedy, always make free unlimited money

Why exactly is the Blockchain even stuck?

They said bonus miners in August.
They say now they have other priorities. So basically they did not keep their word again.

Pure scammers

Over at HashTalk they actually believe the coin is worth 50,000 btc...I can't believe what I'm reading. Even a GAW founder and Paycoin Origin...but then again he's just a paid shill. Others believe that paycoin is the reason bitcoin had a down day...wow. Just. Wow.

I saw a real buy at 50k in the order book, is that exchange for real? I think coin swap is going to double scam people but the stuck Blockchain got in the way

Well some troll at HashTalk has declared war on me.   3rd shadow ban in 3 days.

I have been a good supporter of GAW and this is how I'm rewarded.   GAW is lucky I'm not spiteful.   Still it is a bit frustrating.

The troll is Josh himself. Several admins have confirmed to me that only Josh has the power to shadow ban people and or remove it. Normal admins can just ban and such but not shadowban.

Mordica too, he's been banning on irc

I really don't care who is doing it but it is trollish behavior.   There isn't any why around it.   Whoever is doing it should be ashamed as it is a horrible way to treat a good customer.

There is no customer. Only victims.

Paycoin is taking off so quickly that we can't keep tabs on everything ourselves. We need an extra sets of eyes.

So if you're interested in helping comb the internet for exciting Paycoin news and/or suspicious activity, we want to have you on board.

Reply here if you want to join the Paycoin Watch Squad. I'll pick out a select few to give the details out to.

When I launched BitpopCoin, it worked beautifully and I was one guy fucking around on an Ubuntu VM. My wallet is still staking for free to this day.

If there was any doubt about their ability to manage a massive payment network... there you go.

The funny bit is that they forked without actually making any reasonable changes to the source at all. Few variable tweaks, added some place holders for an opcode and a special staking rate for "prime controllers". Imagine how bad it would have been if they'd tried to make Hybrid Flex as well, nightmare!

How are they enforcing prime controllers?

No one on HT seems keen to answer my simple questions so maybe someone here can provide answers.

1) What is the technical means by which a "staked" Paycoin will be prevented from being spent/transferrred?

2) If I stake a Paycoin in a Hashtaker wallet, will that coin remain in my wallet or will it be transferred (temporarily) to somewhere else?

2a) If the staked coins are transferred out of my wallet, then where do they go (the trust, GAW, Prime Controllers, God)?

2b) If the staked coins remain in my wallet, what is the technical means by which spending and transferring are prohibited?

Is any of this spelled out anywhere?  If not for Paycoin, then for any other PoS coins?

It seems critical to prevent double stake + spend so I would imagine there is a good answer for this, given that the wallet is due to launch any minute now.

Are you talking about HashStaker, or your own wallet (5% APY)?

HashStaker is just a widget on a website, you don't own private keys, so it's easy to prevent spending, no cryptographical magic needed. Coins should be sitting in cold storage, but there was some talk about them being loaned for merchant transactions, so I don't know that part.

Your own wallet stakes only as long as the coin remains in it. Again, no need to prevent spending, as soon as you spend it staking stops.

I thought there would be a downloadable Hashtaker  wallet.  No?  So basically "staking" in Hashtaker means you are loaning your Paycoin to GAW for 3-6 months?  Aha.

A real pos would stake for free on your computer

Paycoin challenge wall
They are basically bribing businesses to accept paycoin.  He just basically admitted he doesn't have any partnerships that are willing to accept paycoin and is willing to pay for businesses to accept his paycoin by building business model around it.  That is how I'm deciphering this and if this is correct that would be one of the biggest red flags that paycoin will be utterly useless.

It does sound like that. It always did, fishing for ideas every week. "title wave", "titan of industry" LOL Smiley

Anyone want to guess who the "panel of expert judges with a proven track record for innovating and starting successful ventures" would be? I'd nominate bitpop for his innovative work on bitpopcoin.

Too bad there is no prize, he's just getting people to shill for him for free. He'll be long long gone by March.

I'm not going to help by dumping Bitcoin. Anyone that wants Bitcoin can buy them, some choose to buy paycoin. It's a simple decision.
2919  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Zen Hashlet PayCoin unofficial uncensored discussion. ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: December 12, 2014, 03:10:38 PM
Don't ridicule people on their poor mistakes. Try to help them to have a different thought process so we can all avoid further instances like this.

That's the thing.  The warning signs are all there and out in the open.  Many of the largest GAW supporters have publicly left while leaving a warning on HT yet these people still follow blindly.
What ways can we help them have a different through process when they are all consumed with greed?  It is truly sad.

I've tried to help people on Twitter but they block me, to attack Josh we must attack his army. They're no longer civilians, many are recruiting more victims.

It's fascinating seeing these people begging Josh to stake Bitcoin too, on one hand they don't give a shit about paycoin, on the other they have no clue what they're doing except becoming millionaires.

Remember Microsoft is only testing Bitcoin in beta, once released they'll switch to paycoin, but they're under nda like target and Walmart.
