2921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dump just after a new listing? on: May 13, 2021, 08:26:16 PM
This is a common thing with each project since in the old days. People always blamed bounty hunters and airdrop participants with this thing, but not all the time they are the one to be blamed, remember that only a small percentage is being allocated on bounty and airdrop programs. There are also ICO/IEO investors who do this thing.
Bounty hunters also dump but I agree they are not the only ones. Early investors do this a lot too, they will grab a big portion of the coins at a minimal rate and then dump those into the market once they see a small margin because the number of coins they grabbed are big and a small margin will give them huge profits.

Bounty hunters at least have worked for their coins so in my opinion so they deserve to cash the coins whenever they want, it was either the mistake from the creators to spend too much for bounty or they should have planned better. You cannot expect the bounty hunters to work for weeks and months and then have the patience to hold the coins for years.
2922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: May 13, 2021, 07:41:28 PM
Tuchel is a good coach, no doubt, but at the level of experience in the Champions League, Guardiola has more experience.
Although they are practically the same generation of coaches, Guardiola is much more experienced.
Honestly if this was a groupg ame, or even anything until semi finals I would say that you are right, Tuchel vs Guardiola would make sense and Pep would win that ten times out of ten. However when we are talking about simply just one game, anything could happen, an injury could change things, one lucky bounce would get them a goal, a ball going just an inch left.

Seriously when it is just simply one game everything could change, I am not saying Chelsea will win, if you think I said that then you haven't read it carefully, all I am saying that in a regular game I would give 70%+ to City because they are so much better but in a Finals game it is as close to being 50% chance for both teams as it gets. I still think City is a bit further ahead, it would be Chelsea that needs to get lucky, but anything could happen in a winner takes all game.
2923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My thoughts about Primedice on: May 13, 2021, 07:19:52 PM
In some sense, I do agree that primedice and stake are being remodelled for high-rollers with the changes they are making. I will make a few points to explain what I mean.

1- Platinum 2 for VIP host: I don't care whether I get a host or not but raising the bar for the personal host just shows they are now inclined towards the high rollers.

2- Races with best rewards on top: I know it is important to reward players at the top but the prize distribution is massively in favor of top-5 or so spots.

There are other things like muting some players for minor mistakes as I was reading recently in the stake thread. I mean players will have bad days and will make angry comments and you cannot expect them to be robots. Earlier I see players were given more freedom but now they even removed personal messages so basically the personal interaction and connection between players is lost.

I'm neither complaining nor supporting what op has said, I am just sharing what I feel has changed for a while now. All that said stake is still one of the best out there but there are areas they can improve.
2924  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW IMPORTANT IS STOP LOSS on: May 13, 2021, 06:46:49 PM
It is impossible to monitor 24 hours, the stop-loss feature really helps us to prevent big losses. If we don't use stop-loss, it will be very risky for our coins once they are still on open order but we are already not monitoring the coins. Mostly, the stop-loss feature is very helpful for traders, while for investors the stop-loss feature isn't really needed.
I don't think I disagree but I would say small traders who trade a single or a few coins should not use stop-loss because they can monitor the market and if they feel like the market is going down for a particular reason then it is better to hold and sit tight instead of selling is loss.

I remember I held my UNI swap tokens and I got the best price for them for my patience but if I was deterred by the early dump which happened when it got listed at exchanges then I might have not even got 25% value of the coins. If you are a trader who plays with a large number of coins and loses track then I would strongly favor using the stop-loss feature because it can be crazy tracking several coins all the time.

Remember in crypto fluctuations are obvious and very common so don't panic too quickly.
2925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I regret selling BTC for entering DeFi. HODLing is the way! on: May 13, 2021, 06:10:12 PM
I learned the hard way that Hodling BTC is the only way. I wanted to grow my BTC so i sold my 1BTC @32K a month ago and put that money in DeFi for yield farming in those high APY. I took some losses and some gains. Now BTC jumped 47K. If i would have just HODL all this way i would have more USDT then if i buy BTC now. Lesson i Learned: Yield farming is useless. People put so much at risk entering smart contract not to mention the daily time waste. Just HODL and you would have more more money than anyone yield farming in long run.
They all works, that it didn't work for you doesn't mean it wasn't working. This is just not the time for DEFI, there was a time they were all bubbling and a lot of people who invested in them were making good profit from their investment, but after everything, investing in Bitcoin still remains the best thing you can do, because after everything Bitcoin still grows while most of these altcoins are just for the moment and after they mostly fade. Though there are still some good ones that keeps moving.

There have been a lot of altcoins that are doing really great this year, Dogecoin really pumped hard this year and even a lot of others that did great. It (dogecoin) later started dropping last weekend which made a lot of people to panic. But I have noticed that there are still lots of people who are ready to HODL, because they are believing they will reach the $1 price.
2926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin staking on: May 12, 2021, 09:12:22 PM
If there has some service offering a stake for some coins while the coin algo is not a stacked coin, that just a service offer investment feature and most of the time is just like kind of ponzi.
Exactly what I wanted to say. There are various schemes which promise to pay coins by mining, staking and other methods but I would rather keep my coins to myself because most of these services are scam. There used to be a very popular return site plustoken and even they scammed last year so I mean it is just not worth risking large amount of coins for small gains daily.

You may check if Binance offers staking of dogecoin though because I don't think Binance is going anywhere anytime soon so if they offer these kind of services, which they do for some coins, you may go with them.
2927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Internet Computer (ICP) - what's that? on: May 12, 2021, 08:38:15 PM
It is actually one of the best projects coming up and it was earlier known as Dfinity and now it has been rebranded as ICP. I was always so keen in this project but the work done on it was rather slow so I forgot about it until recently when I see it somewhere and I was glad that it is now fulfilling the potential it always had. I am not a big fan of the guy who created this project because he seems a bit arrogant for my liking, but the project is no doubt one of the best out there.

I am not 100% sure whether I want to invest in the coin but the idea they have is pretty amazing, I would insist on reading it once if you haven't already. Basically, they are decentralizing the whole web, which sounds good but I am not 100% confident whether it is achievable or not.
2928  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Want Tesla To Accept Doge? on: May 12, 2021, 07:23:33 PM
Elon Musk has made new tweet about Doge again as always. It has been seen for some time now that Elon Musk is benefiting himself by increasing the price of Doge through new tweets. He tweeted asking if Dogecoin will be used to buy Tesla. But after his tweet, Doge price is going down, which means people are understanding his purpose. You can see his tweet from here: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1392030108274159619?s=19
I honestly fail to understand what difference it makes for anyone to pay via dogecoins or Bitcoins or even fiat because they can always convert cash to dogecoins/crypto and vice versa so how does it make a big difference if he starts accepting dogecoins? I really don't understand this.

It is similar to like I can pay my college fee with dogecoins but since dogecoins have a real value in the market, I could have converted them to fiat and paid the fee within fiat too.

It would have been massively useful if tesla was accepting dogecoins while there existed no real market for dogecoin to convert into fiat. But with market open and heavy demand for the coin, it just doesn't change much to have Tesla accepting dogecoin.
2929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to seek help if you need; concerned with gambling addiction. on: May 12, 2021, 07:06:21 PM
It's good if there are dedicated hotlines for gambling addictions on a country, though if there isn't one available, intervention from medical professionals such as psychiatrists would go a long way in helping people already addicted to gambling. Turning oneself in is difficult, especially if they are still in denial of their condition and are shrugging it off thinking that they are still 'normal' despite their obvious behavior of being hooked to a certain game. It's a case-by-case basis, so you can't really know for certain whether an individual is already deep into the addiction or not.
There is a scenario where gambling is illegal in your country and if you are suffering from gambling addiction then you can neither tell anyone nor you can visit a psychiatrist because you will behind the bars very quickly.

Most of the gamblers are underage and students which makes it really challenging for them to inform their parents and some don't even realize they are suffering from such a problem. I relate gambling addiction very closely to drug addiction where you don't know what you are doing and the moment you realize it is either too late or you have done too much damage to ever recover.

I am not saying one cannot recover but it depends on the individual, damage done and one's self-confidence to come out of it.
2930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: May 12, 2021, 06:29:08 PM
£40,000 is a big amount but this is still a mild case if we look at how gambling addiction could actually ruin more than your finances.
The problem with gambling is not the amounts but the control you are losing over yourself actually. I have been into gambling for a long time now and I know it can be a disaster once you start losing control and even worst once you start chasing your losses. 40k Euro is nothing for a rich man so I won't say he lost too much and wouldn't recover. Whether the amount is big or not, we must not gamble what we cannot afford to, this simple thing people fail to apply in real life.

The role of gambling addiction recovery programs, whether government or private, cannot be overemphasized.
Indeed but gamblers who are addicted need to understand that gambling addiction is similar to something like fever, it won't go off its own and there should be no shame in admitting to addiction as long as you are ready to overcome it, must see a doctor.
2931  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptos VS Apple on: May 12, 2021, 03:51:47 PM
Recently, cryptocurrency exchanges such as Binance have started offering tokenized shares of companies, including Apple Inc. And this means that in this way, cryptocurrency exchanges promote the securities market among their traders, providing them with increased demand. Thus, money is taken away from the cryptocurrency market, and it flows into securities.
A very good point actually and I was not very excited with the news that now we can trade market shares at Binance and maybe other exchanges in the future. At the same time though I was wondering that there are traders and investors who were investing only into shares but not that we have platforms that offer both crypto and market shares of companies like Apple, this also means that the crypto community will see a growth in the number of traders because some of the fiat traders will also buy crypto now. I believe it's bi-directional and will benefit both markets.

The introduction and continuous flow of altcoins have kept the market interesting and although risky they constitute a big part of our market and one of the reasons why new investors are coming in all the time. New projects on the blockchain also mean a lot of new jobs.
2932  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency, now a fast rising trend! on: May 12, 2021, 12:52:15 PM
Some are just minding about investment matters but there are ones who do mainly engaged due to its tech and relevance but actually it can give out both.
I agree that bitcoin is capable of providing both. Personally I decided to adopt bitcoin because of the technology behind it. It cannot be beaten by anything else in near future. At the same time, many people are not looking into the technology of bitcoin but only taking bitcoin as a speculative asset. In my opinion those kind of people will understand the potential of bitcoin over the course of time.

I mean if bitcoin is only speculative asset, probably it cannot be trading around $55k levels today. It got both technology and investment characteristics. From these all, we can understand and no need to surprise on seeing bitcoin as a fast rising trend in financial world as of now.
2933  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: your worst mistake on: May 11, 2021, 09:09:40 PM
I think my wort mistake is not believing in bitcoin at first. Like other people my first impression about it was it's a scam even I feel it from the start that it isn't. I I'm maybe lazy to do research about it and condcluded it as scam to be safe.
I did the same kind of mistake. I first heard about bitcoin in 2010 itself but I did not show any interest on it. If I started working for bitcoin or started mining bitcoins then that would be changing my life into something complete different; I must agree that would be a life time mistake. In my case, it was more than worst mistake for sure.

My second worst mistake is like yours, not having the guts to trade or invest. I'm too scared to make mistakes and I get anxious when I'm thinking what if I lose my money. I know all the possible outcome maybe Im not ready enough to face it.
Fortunately I managed to invest in bitcoins since 2013/2014. At that times, I did not invest big but fortunately I managed to hold them till now. I am expecting something big out of my early investments to change my life into better one but still waiting.
2934  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much can you predict this sh*t?! Or is it pure gamble? on: May 11, 2021, 08:30:00 PM
What causes prices to go up? What causes them to go down? Obviously, no one knows for certain when it would happened, but has there been a consistent "pattern" lately? When prices have gone down, have you known to a reasonable degree than they would bounce back up? How?
Not always bouncing back because still lower to low is possible. So, there cannot be anything in pre-assumed way. But, you need to make use of technical things to predict market rather than going for assuming anything by your own. If you are making use of your intuition power to predict the turning point of markets then also you got only half chances to hit what you want .

Predicting market direction will be possible only through kind of mathematical process. There are different kinds of strategies are available to predict market directions still there will be no guarantee for effective predictions of market direction because it is having lots of factor to influence it.
2935  Other / Archival / Re: Everyone is following the same strategy on: May 11, 2021, 07:48:11 PM
Same strategy but the actual application of it varies per trader. That's where the challenge is.
I agree with this. Even all the traders' strategies are looking similar, they must be having different perception which means handling market situation and level of profit targeting definitely will differ trader to trader. So from all these, we need to conclude that even all traders are doing with same kind of strategies, literally they are performing differently. Hence, there will be no meaning of assuming like all traders are all following same kind of strategies.
2936  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: any opinions about the recent btc price crash? on: May 11, 2021, 06:36:13 PM
Without proper knowledge, the risk is too high for all those newbies that have a mindset that this venue of investment is a quick passage way to richness.

With such mentalities any corrections that may happened will be a sign of having lots of panics and money that has been invested will surely gone.
After every correction of bitcoin markets, I am seeing some people are crying out like this. I mean these people are never ready to learn from others' mistakes but they will keep on committing old mistakes again and again. I'm not sure when those new people of trading start their real trading only after gathering enough knowledge and experiences. Because, only that will prevent people suffering from usual market corrections.

When traders are not able to survive against usual market fluctuations then I believe they are not at all suitable for crypto trading. Instead of struggling, I believe they must quit.
2937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So funny! Elon Musk brings Doge to the real moon. on: May 11, 2021, 05:06:51 PM
I couldn't help laughing at this work of Elon Musk. He said, "Dogecoin will go to the moon" and he built a satellite called Doge and flew it directly to the real moon and allowed the project to pay with Dogecoin.
Who paid in dogecoins to whom? I am aware of all these kind of heavy promotions and definitely will lead to make lots of people are getting aware of dogecoins for sure. Hence we can surely expect dogecoin to be peaking rapidly in near future which may surpass bitcoin marketcap also. So, all the means are perfectly set to make dogecoin as a super investment in near future.

Already Elon Musk has pumped dogecoins from below 40 satoshi to 1280 saotshi and I guess there after even he may not be going to pump also, other investors will keep it buying which will result in continuous pumping here after in some sense.
2938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hoping to see a bitcointalk token sooner on: May 11, 2021, 03:21:11 PM
This is the birthplace of crypto and many people learnt alot from here. is it not fair for this platform to get a token that can be traded in the market. other content management platform has then own crypto that are been traded and use as a means of rewards to their users.
please don't say bitcoin. currently, not everyone can afford bitcoin now. we need an altcoin as an alternative token here for payment of service.
I'm not seeing any possibility for that to happen. Because for using this platform fair and legit way, you do not need to pay anything; if you want higher membership to show pictures then you can go for paying some fee for copper membership other than that I'm not seeing anything charged here (except monthly auction for banner display).

I remember there were lots of similar suggestions were made but Theymos never listened to them.

Some people suggested to make merits as a coin/token but that also had been rejected by this community and by our honorable admin (theymos).
2939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto World Isn’t Being crazy , but it is the future . on: May 11, 2021, 10:32:34 AM
This is indeed a concern of many people right now where many people are interested in investing with cryptocurrency. in just a matter of days or hours there can be a pretty fantastic increase.
When more number of people will be participating we can easily see a strong bull run to take place. I agree that awareness on crypto investments and it's better profits is happening everywhere which leads to more people started showing interest to invest with cryptocurrencies. Definitely crypto is the future and people are really crazy these days to drive prices of cryptocurrencies to unbelievable levels like how dogecoins is doing in recent times.

everyone must understand and understand how the crypto market works before joining because it is behind the increase the height can occur a deep decrease as well.
I'm able to get your point but we cannot do anything about the fluctuations of crypto market. Either we need to go for bitcoin the kind of highly potential coin to tackle those volatility otherwise must plan a short-term target to book profits safely in the case of most of the altcoins.
2940  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What really makes a cryptocurrency successful on: May 10, 2021, 09:21:56 PM
Sometimes five years ago, trading fees are not at all a concern. But nowadays people are considering high transaction fees is an obstacle for success of coin. But, definitely I will not agree with that because bitcoin is right now having massive transaction fees still it keeps appreciating. On the other hand market capitalization is just another metric but economically not having any significant meaning.

A real use case and active devs team are more important in my opinion. But nowadays, coins with the no real purposes are finding success because of heavy promotion. When dev team is coming up the strong marketing strategies then they are easily hitting bull's eye.
I definitely agree with you mate, for me first thing that might be the major reason for a success of a certain project or ICO goes to the active and development team behind every successful token. There is no other than to credit but them because they are the reason for a successful improvement of token that leads to atteact investors or traders and mass adoption.

Lets just take a look with the high gas fee of ethereum too, this is the main concern for every traders and investors for the last couple months but it has nothing to do with the successful market of ethereum today.
Can we simply take a look at these things and say that "a coin/token with a great marketing could make an insane profit at the short term but the coin/token with the great dev team and a good use case will always earn you more in the long run"?

I mean it is obvious that marketing can take you somewhere but if it is a bad coin then it is a bad coin and nothing could beat that, there is no chance that we could have a coin that could continue to make you profit for years if there is nothing being done by the dev team that resembles a good improvement.
