Ken what is your 3 month plan for this company? How are you going to make us money with a static data centre and single figure miner sales?

Tell me what the bitcoin price will be in 3 months and I will tell you.

BEST CEO EVER!

Sales have been slow at this price point. They should drop the price below the equivilent of 8 ants. They would slay the competition and Spoondoolies would be the new Bitmain taking over the network.

Well considering that for those ants you have to provide power supplies then paying a bit more for flexibility sounds fair for me. Also ants are for people with limited and power circuits. People with big power circuits will always try to stuff as much hashpower as they can. People who buy ants are forced to upgrade their units in the future to stay competitive, the others will just get the most efficient units, fill their power circuit and just mine. They will also be forced to upgrade much later in order to stay competitive. Investing a bit more at start saves you a lot more on your future upgrades Smiley

First to break $3.5 GH/s barrier. Fastest chips on the planet.

I would stay away.

What will be the cost for shipping if we choose the 1 month free hosting and after that we get it shipped?

Does the SP10 comes with railings for rack mounting? Is it suggested to rack mount? I think i read somewhere that it is prefered to have them on the side for better cooling?

The shipping should be $193 or $200. It doesn't come with railings for rack mounting. Of course it's ok to rack mount them since they were built with this in mind.
2925  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain S2 vs Spondoolies SP10 on: May 09, 2014, 06:49:22 PM
SP10 is more suitable for installation in the engine room inside, but its price is too expensive! Even if Bitcoin prices back to $ 1000, your investment will not be fully recovered, even without considering the electricity cost.

And the price of S2 is better? It's actually more $/GH than the SP10. And with S2 you get this:

You'll need to RMA your current S2 back to bitmain and they will send a replacement out to you. Could take 2 or more weeks.

This is an ongoing issue with Bitmain in general. I too was just hit with a failed part, and the turn around on failed product WILL result in serious loss in mining payouts. There is an advantage to going with Bitmain for mining hardware, however due to their support on hardware with issues, you need to factor in as serious losses in revenue .

Oh yeah dead bitmain gear you get fucked on the rma.  that is pretty true.  Takes a long time for replacement.  they ask for a deposit .  Happened to me.

But a usa dealer sent me an s-1 upfront no cash no coin.  I sent him the dead one.  Since he is a big dealer he handled the rma for me.  So I only lost 4 days mining but no replacement deposit.

Thank you to bobsag3.

Hey now, don't go mentioning the s1 again. The spondoolie heads are busily pretending it doesn't exist.

Anything with 1W/GH or more shouldn't be on the miners radar imo now, but it's everyone's choice how they fill their power circuits.

Machine is the most beautiful I've ever seen a machine, but the price is really expensive, and now the market is not very good, I think it might be more cost-effective or directly buy bitcoin.

It's the best $/GH available right now on the market so it's not really that expensive. You can't buy anything better except from scammers from VMC and maybe S1, but that's like a USB stick miner Smiley

Humm buying a few S1 have best $/GH, with 3,200$ you can get 8 of them + psu, so you can get 1.6Th/s Wink but i take a lot more space ^^

But with the S1s you will need ~3200W for that speed while the SP10 needs less than half. Also by buying S1s you need more space and you will have more cables and naked miners while the SP10 is more compact.

But the company is based in Israel from my Invoice.

Not that it will deter me from paying but its a tad confusing

Its too good a deal to pass up if they include shipping world wide as well how do they make that happen ? no other vendors are giving free shipping.

heck no other vendors are offering this hash rate/$$ that Spoondoolies-Tech is

I just hope they deliver..  I got burned by black Arrow and said I would never pre-order again so much for that lol.

A company can have an account in almost any country so there is no problem with SP-Tech having an account in Czech Republic. There can be various reasons for this, maybe low fees for customers or higher limits etc

They offer free shipping because they are supporting the cost of the shipping for the customer.

As for the for the invoice mentioning the shipping or hosting don't worry. They will do it even if it's not in the invoice and yes they will deliver both SP10 and SP30 Smiley

Spondoolies Tech is the only company that funded itself for over 9 months and they launched a product without taking any customer money upfront.

Spondoolies is good, but don't forget, Bitmain did it first.

Forgot about them. Ok they are among the two companies that did it. Comparing with the total number of companies I still feel it's impressive.

@raskul sell miners from stock without asking money upfront for R&D.

Any news on availability ?  Smiley
No pre orders.

Thank you

This.  Plus Prospectors were just lowered to $999.  Still watching and waiting here.

Really want one of these, but can't bridge the price/delivery gap.

You don't want to deal with VMC. Trust me.
2932  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain S2 vs Spondoolies SP10 on: May 09, 2014, 12:44:39 PM
SP10 doesn't come trashed like S2:

The lulz worthyness of buying an S2 and it being shipped to Sydney (via Melbourne) which is probably a lot closer than anyone in the USA?

Oh well, not a single board survived in place:
http://198.245.60.111/Pix/20140509125727-S2FirstOpen.jpg
(yes the left one is simply out of the socket as can be seen below, but the right one is right out)

And ... 7 out of 10 "PCI" backbone connectors are bent Tongue

Note this was provided to me by someone who paid the usual online ordering but had it shipped to me direct.
It was NOT provided by bitmain.

Gonna be fun putting this together ... sigh.

So back on subject:

1. hosted SP10 will go online on 16 may?
2. When do we start to pay. Bank transfer take 2-3 days to show up...

1. I don't have anything official, but my assumption is between 15 and 17 Smiley
2. You should receive an e-mail by tomorrow max. If you don't, then either contact me or directly SP-Tech.

About 2 - FYI still haven't received something.

Because:

We'll start hosting around the 16 or a bit before, first come first serve, per our daily production and the queue.
Tomorrow is weekend in Israel, you'll get first emails on Sunday. Our sales admin was under the weather today.

Roadstress you have yours at home in Bonnie Scotland right?

Can you do a video of it with audio on? I'd like to see what it sounds like in a non-datacenter environment before I make any decisions on purchasing

Cheers.

I'm not from Scotland. raskul is Smiley

Well I have my miners in a remote location and it's a bit hard for me to do a short movie, but I remember there was a movie from someone I just don't recall who or where is it. I will dig for it and post it when I find it.
2935  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: May 09, 2014, 10:13:21 AM
So what are the odds of the first tape out having a design flaw that will make us have to wait through a second fab?

All ready discussed at length. We'll ship on time and on spec.

I have an SP30 order from you, and I want to believe.. But if you are so sure, why is this in your Terms of Conditions:

Quote
Delivery dates communicated or acknowledged by Spondoolies in the Order Confirmation are approximate only, and are dependent upon supply chain interruptions and stoppages, development delays, and other factors. Therefore, Purchaser shall not rely upon, and Spondoolies shall not be liable under whatsoever circumstances for any other estimation statement of expectation when delivery will occur.

How did the terms helped customers of: BFL, AMT, TerraHash, HashFail, CoinTerra, scammy VMC/AMC, etc customers? It didn't! Why are you stressing over this? Spondoolies Tech is the only company that funded itself for over 9 months and they launched a product without taking any customer money upfront. They are here to stay and obviously they don't plan on screwing their customers like the mentioned companies above. Do you really think that a company that was funded by 2 VCs firms will screw their customers? Why can't people see the differences over ALL other companies?

Is the final hashrate at TURBO mode??

Depends on the room temperature of your miner.

Oh I see it, in their media as well. Just confusing that they list PSU @ 1050W (up to 1200W to boost performance), yet there are stats of 1.4TH/s @ 1340W, did you upgrade PSU? Did S-T upgrade unit to 1200W PSU before shipping?
Does the $3200 - GB ship with PSU capable of reaching 1.4TH?

1.4TH/s is the normal mode Smiley And yes the PSU is very capable of reaching 1.4TH and 1.5TH. I stressed over this too around 20 March when SP-Tech made their announcement on the forum. After a lot of questions and after dogie's review now I'm the happy owner of a SP10.

Captured this right now in a warm room:
2937  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ***Spondoolies Tech SP10 - Shipping May 16 - 1.5Th/s - $3,200*** on: May 09, 2014, 12:46:55 AM
I have ordered both SP10s and later SP30s from the previous GB, but I'm not convinced that this GB price is a winner ... doesn't seem quite like the GB deal you would be looking for, taking ROI calculations etc. into consideration. Yes, SP kit is superior in its built quality, but the bottom line is profit out of mining, so looks and continued reliability can easily be ignored by many when looking at the bottom line. A combined hosting GB sounds an interesting idea as previously mentioned, as would a lower price for the GB SP10.

Good point.  I don't want good build quality.  I want shit build quality.  After 6 - 12 months, this thing is going to the same place as my KnC shit - to the bottom of the ocean.  Why do I care if the built quality is high?  If this thing is serviceable in 2 years, that is a damn waste.

Build quality comes into play when OC'ing. The S2 is stuck @ 1.1, FrakenJups @2.6-2.8??(I do not run one(3)). IF SP10's PSU can be upgraded to 1500W that quality could lead to 6-700 GH/s OC'in..

this gear can do 2 th over clocked with a 1500 watt psu?  so let us say you are correct . what does the custom psu cost?

Hell I can not even figure out how people are getting 1.4+TH/s from the DS1050 it ships with. 1500W PSU in case size does not exist.. yet
there are 1200W replacements out there.

Picture made 1 minute ago:

2938  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group Buy #5] ASIC chip design funded for the people to keep BTC decentralized on: May 08, 2014, 11:48:55 PM
Most gear comes out not a lot better then anyone else last piece of gear that was a true killer was the knc oct 2013  gear.

That's because you don't understand physics, how chip works and convertors.
2939  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [VMC] Unofficial Virtual Mining Corporation Discussion on: May 08, 2014, 11:47:20 PM
First of all, I don't want to do business with bitpay because they are in bed with BFL.  Second, there are a lot of other things going on in the background that need to be taken care of, i.e datacenter, cash flow, lawyers, MSD, customer service, just to name a few.

Quoted for history. People actually pay a salary for this incompetence.

I know that you are interested in answers for your 50TH S1 farm, but I would advise you to buy SP10s units instead. My group buy has the lowest $/GH with best density. You only need 33 SP10 units and each unit is 1.25U in size Smiley
