Don't you think some people in the forum are giving too much importance to Elon? The amazing part of this is how it wasn't a problem at all when Saint Elon was being praised just a few weeks ago. Posts mentioning "elon" or "musk" by month: January 996 February 4052 March 1715 April 2151 May 3781
Ok, there is a bit of an increase and the month is not over yet but it's not a huge change in giving him importance, just that it turned negative recently. The guy is a fucking clown. He's getting away with all sorts of shit just because he's a Wall Street darling. Exactly the type of person bitcoiners should stay away from but somehow we thought he's gonna be good for Bitcoin. Just like those kids on Reddit thinking that by giving Wall Street their money (buying GME stock or some shit like that) they're rebelling against the system. SMH. Edit: adjusted numbers to account for some duplicates and words like "felon" (LOL).

the bacteria
The coronabacteria? The one that causes COBAD-19? Pertussis is a bacteria. You can try moving your lips if it helps read better. You can try arguing your point without straw people (or straw bacteria) but I know that's too hard for you. We just need to assume that COVID-19 vaccines are bad because bacteria.

I hope this pans out like all your other "easy calls". $50k is overrated anyway. $100k is what the cool kids are aiming for.

What if you get a vaccine and live to ninety? How could you ever guess how long you might have lived if you had never gotten the vaccine? You might have lived to 110! But maybe only 70. Nobody knows, especially if you get the vaccine as a child.
Actually we do know. Fewer people die from vaccine-preventable diseases like measles, and average life expectancy has gone up significantly over the last ~hundred years in large part due to vaccines. Obviously if you die a in a car crash, vaccine is not going to help you. And you can afford to be an antivaxxer because most people around you are vaccinated, so you're welcome.

Wow such censoring message much? I didn't take it so option 3 which isn't on the poll or is my new message to you doomed to be not seen or read. As I said in the message content which you removed "dead people tell no tales"".
If you didn't take the vaccine, you can't vote in my poll. You can still troll the thread but please stop multiposting, that's against forum rules. And as you can see dead people are successfully voting so everything is fine.

Can't wait for the mental gymnastics to explain this one. I'm going to go with "As it gets closer to summer, the virus gets killed by the UV rays from the sun going inside your body like Trump said would happen."
Well, this poll has scientifically proven that 23.5% of people get killed by the vaccine so obviously the virus gets killed too. Duh. ~
~
Did you take the vaccine? Are you still alive? If that's too complicated, let me know how I can make it easier for the two of you.

I guess that this is a bug:
Kind of. This user had not posted anything since 2018 until today. We can't update 3 million users instantly so the priority is for users who conducted some sort of activity, e.g. made new posts or sent merits, which we can detect by fetching patrol pages and recent merit list. Inactive users have the lowest priority and we can't detect when the last activity timestamp has changed on the profile page, but once they make a post it will clear the inactive status, which I think has already happened for this particular user.

^ See what I mean. This place breeds negativity now. You can’t even have a genuine opinion about wanting an impartial moderator without being attacked by miserable depressed users. It’s a top down problem and needs to be addressed by something other than empowering a merit circle to give these people power over who gets into the default trust network or adding more ways like flags to negatively attack other users. Just once I’d like to see a positive change here not focused on breeding more drama for clicks.
Uhm... you're the one "breeding drama" here and derailing this thread. I'm sure you're fully aware that forum moderators don't moderate merit or default trust or flags.

The real solution is to create the rules that works for the people, not to create a subset that accepts absurd rules.
The rules have worked fine "for the people" for years. Stop making a mountain out of a molehill. The construction [if]... [then]...[else]..[end if] make sense in the same manner as "Thank you"-"Np" construction for instance. The construction "Thank you" - [?] doesn't make sense in the same manner as [if]...[then]...[else]...[nothing here even if it should be be].
If works perfectly fine without "end if" in python or in C-style single-statement form and it works perfectly fine without the fluffy-cuddly chatter on this forum. We don't need to start all threads with single-word "Hi" post, or end them with "thanks" or "best regards" posts.

I've had worse. One user asked a yes/no question. I answered "no". My post was deleted. I cried for a couple of days but I got over it. I think. Still getting misty-eyed when I think about it. It took me a 2, maybe even 3 seconds to craft that totally-on-topic and very useful response. The forum is now so much worse without that valuable contribution.
I think if a person (most probably a newbie would do such a thing) repeatedly posts one liners like Great, OK, Yes , No should be deleted but if anyone rarely do such post then these should not be treated as spam. As for your example, instead of writing only No if you have written as "No, I don't agree with you and my answer for your question is No. So you can consider my response on your view point as No" . This will make it a constructive post I think you're falling for the OP's fallacy that only word count matters. If you just add fluff like your example - it would still be a low value post. It might be less likely to be reported or otherwise noticed by mods, and that's how many spammers are able to skate by, but that doesn't make it right. Adding substance to the post, i.e. explaining why the answer is "no", or why someone/something is "great", in a manner that is useful to other users - that might make it better. But the real solution is to not make such posts. The other part of that fallacy is that "thanks" or "great" or whatever makes someone polite, and lack of such one-word replies makes someone rude... no, it doesn't. There is no such expectation here. Unfortunately this texting/chatting nonsense is infiltrating everything - from business e-mails to discussion forums and it will inevitably kill this site too. But until then why don't we stop looking at those deleted posts as some sort of crime and take it as a learning opportunity.

I tried it few times (reload page, change Tor circuit and use Tor Browser on VirtualBox), but i can't reproduce it (never see the "alt-svc" on response header).
Try restarting Tor Browser and check headers the first time you access bitcointalk.org (make sure to have the dev tools open before you access the site). I think the header is sent only when the browser connects via an exit node, which would be the first connection, and after that the browser may already be connecting via onion so would not be getting the alt-svc header. Also check if you have alt-svc enabled:

Tebow is only a story because...I don't know why lol. People are fascinated with him. He is a sub par professional athlete who was good in college. Linebackers aren't going to have an issue covering Timmy. He never played a snap of tight end in college, he must have some juice on urban lol.
I thought he's in his 40s so I had to look it up. He's 33 and apparently he spent the last 5 years trying to become a baseball player.

40,000 or 50,000 units of vitamin D
Who in the world told you to take 40k IU's of vitamin D? 5k a day is enough. Isn't vitamin D toxic at these levels? I know babies can overdose on it, not sure about adults.

I would have suggested to appoint squatz1 but he's been inactive for a while too...
You're pretty active there, why don't you apply? Well, there isn't really an application process as far as I know. And as much as I would like to move all of BADecker's link spam into one mega thread, I don't think I have sufficient tolerance for bullshit to get that job. There are better candidates. If not squatz1 then perhaps TwitchySeal - he had some self-mod threads that he moderated very fairly I think. If a new moderator was appointed to that section it would be nice if they were impartial or independent. I'm not sure having a snowflake for a mod is the best thing for political discussions as it was quite obvious the section was being heavily moderated in favor of liberal views previously.
Nonsense. FH did an excellent job and was perfectly capable of separating his political views from his duties. everyone's opinion should be allowed
Having an opinion doesn't entitle someone to derail threads or break other forum rules.

the rule that prohibits posting just one word
The way you keep repeating this seems to indicate that you will never accept any other explanation than the one you made up before starting this thread. There is no such rule. The list of rules is pinned at the top of this board, check it out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

I've reported a couple of posts over in the board and they remain unhandled.
I think someone will handle those reports. I haven't noticed any significant issues with P&S reports, I guess global mods pick it up when they can, although having a dedicated moderator would be better. I would have suggested to appoint squatz1 but he's been inactive for a while too...

.... short replies like "thanks", "great", "good project sir" just bump the thread for hundreds of users, add it to watchlists, etc, and don't really carry any useful content.
I've already replied to this above, you are teaching me on how to bring useful content to the forum, right? I'm expressing my opinion about the topic of your thread. You know, doing the thing this forum is for. If I wasn't sufficiently clear with my post: I think that by deleting 3 of your posts or even my invaluable "no" post, moderators are not going to impede the next Goethe or Nakamoto rising to their greatness.
