I accidentally sent two transactions last night without fees. The first one took about 6 hours to get 6 confirmations, the 2nd one took about 20 minutes. And the two transactions were within 15 seconds of each other. So yeah, its not a huge deal, you can either just wait and hope you get lucky, or cancel and resubmit with the fee as grue linked to.

Had they overperformed based on their claims, for example 415Ghash instead of 400 Ghash, and a proportional power increase, I'd say that is fair, but with the info provided, I'd agree the answer to the bet was obviously No.
But people who ordered for 400 GH did get >=400 GH. Oh, so I was mistaken. I thought the argument was that the power consumption was lower, but the Ghash was as well. If the GHash is higher than claimed, and the power is lower, I don't see what the problem is, I too would call the bet confirmed.

Do the 365 Gh + extra units still run with only 400W power?
no, from this post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250249.msg3050985#msg3050985 it seems they use 270W. I believe thats how Bitbet was able to confirm the bet, based on the Ghash/Watt. However the bet wasn't about the Ghash/Watt or $ or BTC/Watt, it was about the performance statement. Had they overperformed based on their claims, for example 415Ghash instead of 400 Ghash, and a proportional power increase, I'd say that is fair, but with the info provided, I'd agree the answer to the bet was obviously No.

Well, constructively, I believe many people will dislike the wallet design, because it is somewhat reminiscent of a Video game forum look, with the sharp black and red contrasts and dark grey background. Large contrasts like this tend to look better in an informal setting, however when dealing with things like financials, people tend to like clean looking lighter colors with slight contrasts. For example, check out the forum's color scheme. While some people may not like it, many more will agree that it is suitable enough to be functional without distracting. The same goes for wallet clients.

This is the wrong section, you probably want to move this to Marketplace > Goods > Computer Hardware

Yeah, I was unable to use the blockchain as well, so Bob told me to set between 1 and 3669 on Random.org
The result was *drum roll*
310

SaltySpitoon has agreed to conduct the random number drawing (#1 - (wallet balance)) once entries close Sept 6, 2pm Forum time.
That I have. 2PM forum time is 10AM EST (my time zone) so I will draw the number very shortly after the close using random.org ranging from 1 to the number of coins recieved by that time. I have no stakes in the bet, nor have I any information about anyone involved, so it will be a completely unbiassed pick. I will post the number here, and bob131313 will be interpreting the number to the winner.

I'm considering putting a substantial sum into bitcoins. What would be the smartest route? Hardware, shares? There's a ton of vectors one could take, sometimes it's a bit nauseating trying to consider what investment route to take.
Start out with a little bit of each, and invest more heavily in what seems to be working well for you, or just what you like the best. Diversify until you have found the money, and then keep diversifying with profits in case your first method stops working for you.

Nope, I know it is not your job. In my first post, I just said be careful where you ship to, because sea mammal ivory is outlawed in certain places. Just wanted to make sure you put some sort of disclaimer like the disclaimer that you now have in your OP, so people can check for themselves. It really sucks when you get pinched for a felony you didn't know you commited.
Anyway, good luck with your sales, very neat pieces, didn't mean to come on too strong there, just wanted to make sure you knew, and potential buyers knew to check before accidentally doing something they didn't intend to.

so you're salty about this? what does the u.s. government say about bitcoin? if you're in the u.s. its obviously at your own risk. ive shipped packages to the u.s. if anyone needs a reference let me know.
No, you are free to sell illegally, you should however make sure that your customers know that they are buying illegally, so your non disclosure doesn't net them an unexpected 5 year prison sentence and a $25,000 fine if caught. You could probably find references from people on the Silk Road that have shipped kilos of cocaine successfully. That doesn't mean its not illegal.

the best i can provide is tracking to the u.s. ive shipped a few and they made it just fine. its art supplies to make a necklace etc. http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/pr/laws/mmpa/"The MMPA prohibits, with certain exceptions, the "take" of marine mammals in U.S. waters and by U.S. citizens on the high seas, and the importation of marine mammals and marine mammal products into the U.S."

Be careful where you ship to. Some countries, like the U.S have very strict policies on sea mammal ivory. Shipping to the U.S can result in very very large fines and jail time.
Back when there was the guy selling Tupilaks from Greenland, I wasn't able to buy a cursed whale bone one for my sister for that reason.

I intend to start providing escrow services soon. I figure I spend way too much time online anyway, and I get bored and like chatting with people via pm, so why not.

I have reduced the price to 3 BTC. I am now at 80.72% so (8 BTC * .8072 = 6.4576 BTC + the bonus BTC already on the account)
Slightly under 1/2 of the explicit value of the account.
