Hear, hear. It's always occurred to me that rioters (and even terrorists) always pick the wrong targets. *Disclaimer: I don't support terrorism.* But that guy who flew his plane into an IRS building? He knew what he was doing. The 9/11 terrorists? They at least hit the Pentagon. What I'm saying is that the gripes are almost completely with government institutions and the judicial system (like the Rodney King riots, etc.), but the rioters don't end up storming a courthouse; they break into shops and loot stuff. It makes total sense if you're a cynic like me who thinks that greed drives most people's behavior, but rioting doesn't accomplish much for whatever the cause is except for media attention. Terrorism accomplishes a lot, but not in a good way for anyone.
Leaving aside terrorists...all the latest protest I've seen are more anarchist orientated than actually demanding anything. How were the IRS and the USSS ( Oklahoma bombing) buildings rebuilt? With tax money. With what money where the injured treated and the relatives of the dead compensated? Tax money!! I remember some funny footage from the Romanian protest two years ago, people almost trampling each other in the subway, blocking the entire central square in Bucharest, protesting peacefully against the government while the government building was....empty and all those officials where at home enjoying their dinner while thousands had to spend hours in traffic to get home after real work. The whole stuff again with the BLM movement, most of the stuff they destroyed was in their own neighborhood, not like any of the " culprits" let's say as I am no fan of BLM was even bothered by it. Greek protest, setting aflame the only surviving shops in the center of Athens and sending more people to the unemployment office? And the French excel at hurting the average Joe with their protest, every damn year farmers block roads and disrupt traffic punishing their own customers while the government officials fly with their helicopters avoiding them all. After all, what do those "yellow bests" even want? Oh, money! It doesn't matter how but we want money. Wanting more money while disrupting the economy and causing billions in losses doesn't seem like a bright plan to me...but who knows.... In the end, everyone can protest if they want to, but for god sake don't act like football fans trashing their own favorite pub because their team has lost. jes i have quite an understanding how live is in communism, and i know what drives demand for communism, its urban population that wants supply of consumption capacities from outside their urban environment, thats a reason among others.
"Quite" is an overstatement. Back to the drawing board  enough to predict communism/nationalsocialism in western europe. doesnt matter if a cryptoindexmafia, like coinmarketcap and bitcoiners will hover above them. |

Problem is whole concept of ICOs. 99% of them don't actually need their own token, and everything they are trying to do can be accomplished with BTC/LTC/ETH. As for the ICOs that need tokens and actually use them to their maximum potential, i guess ICO 2.0 would be better if its implemented in a way that they must have working prototype in a first place, and after that money is released on milestones where community vote whether or not money should be released. Already saw a few ICOs doing exactly that and calling themselves ICO 2.0, but I think everyone should be doing that anyway.
Then again, ICOs are meant for masses, which means that regular guys don't want to wait years to profit, they want profit short-term, which could lead to frustration if development is taking a few months more than expected. If a company has a working prototype that actually does something, wouldn't it be better at this point (while market is shit) to just take project to the investors and get funding for startup the regular way ? (This is only if ICO is good, which is hard to impossible lol)

The words I used in the subject above, have got a few more questions to ask: - Are merits actually being circulated between those who really need it? - Are they also helping out others through their sMerits? There's a different sort of thinking I've come across - most people don't use their merits by not sharing them with those who deserve them. Reason?! Merits help others to rank up, mostly everyone here is just to earn a side income, and for most of them, it's a living if they are in a signature campaign. Just to stop others from being promoted to higher ranks so as to reduce competition and keep it low (with the fear of losing their own position in that campaign as few may not be confident enough of their capabilities of remaining in the same), they try their best not to share their merits ahead. But for your information, they're given only with the purpose to share on the basis of "Give & Take" tradition and keeping them to ourselves will be stupid and never be useful to us nor others. Institutions have a greater interest in creating their own coin for several reasons. Not to be a coin developed in order to increase its value as much as possible but rather a coin to benefit from the technology, something like a stable coin.
If an institution is really interested in investing in BTC it will certainly not be through an exchange, and there is currently no positive signal showing an opportunity.

king scorpio is not upset about the industry/community of crypto.. he is upset about a BUSINESS which handles a basket of different altcoins and names the basket a "crypto index"
which i would say. knowing 99% of altcoins are crap coins anyway. and knowing that the BUSINESS that king scorpio is crying about is also not concerned with the value/utility of crapcoins. king scorpio should take a step back and realise that the BUSINESS that creates the basket of altcoins(index) do not make profit from if a coin is successful/usable/sustainable.
whether a altcoin is successful or not, the business that king scorpio is upset about just takes a commission from every trade of a basket, no matter what the basket contains and no matter what the altcoin in the basket actually does or doesnt do.
so now knowing this. king scorpion should realise making an altcoin and forcing it to only be listed if it meets certain standards wont make the BUSINESS any more or any less profitable. so in essense they will still not care if a coin meets a certain standard or not. as thats not their BUSINESS model
so in short. king scorpio is fighting a battle with the wrong weapon

There will be no "Development" of the Cryptoindustry for quite a while there are substantial attuitudes that prevent a development, here is why:
many of those bitcoin hodlers think that there will be institutionalisation that will return their beloved bitcoin back to 20k usd so they can sell with profits again
but thats not how instutionalisation will work.
current cryptomarket will not develop itself for certain well defined reasons.
bitcoin founders didnt created the cryptomarket for everyone to develop, they as first and mainly created and marketed bitcoin.
in the end the bitcoin founders created a bitcoincentristic cryptoindex and economy (bitcoin is best and biggest) that they now want to impose on the whole world. and it is surprisingly still taken serious by many without much resistance.
That is the main issue why the cryptoindustry will not develop itself. its the dictatorial bitcoincentrism and bitcoin maximalism, of the founders out of this forum. they want everybody to look at it and adapt it in their "interest" and push their bitcoin hodlings, its actually still not a cryptomarket its a bitcoin centristic market. and its not decentralised away from bitcoin to ever be called "a cryptomarket" yet.
and i doubt they will be taken serious in long run in fact, they will be considered more and more a joke. with more and more people creating their own "coins"

I agree with someone said in comment,"Bitcoin developers care less about the price than you think they do". What's more, for the whole industry, there will be other developments more than price happening, such as launching ETFs, though it's difficult, and different in various countries.
