So why is there not a real reaction to this scam? Were not many people scammed? Or do people have disposable coins and don't care that they were scammed?
No, it's the fact that what you're doing is absolutely disgusting. Bitspend had their accounts shut down, it's too early to draw conclusions, yet you're publicizing all of the owner's personal information and putting him at risk.

Same LOL ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Lmao. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Theymos, I don't think you did yourself a favor here. I am disappointed. And now, for the first time, considering moving on elsewhere.
Ente
Is there another place with active community? Theymos should listen to the community. Community has donated a lot bitcoins to this forum, though I don't know are those coins used to pay salary to theymos or something. There will be soon, it's pretty obvious. If anything, the $600,000 is a lost cause, at this rate.

Kristen remains close behind, I even cleared cache/cookies and voted 3 times lol.
Good luck to your daughter.
The contest is over and Briana was the winner! Magic Man was the last to vote in this thread and he has been sent the remainder of my advertising budget. BTC.031. Thanks to all that voted. Sigh. I still find this disgusting, and there still is a chance that they will find this.

Even a thirteen year old knows that censorship is bad: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=280190It's un-American! Besides anyone who doesn't like Matthew can just ignore him, that's the whole point right? Or are we admitting by this action that the ignore feature doesn't work? If it doesn't work it should be eliminated. Eliminating the poster is cowardly. In America we don't fear people who use words, we converse with them. I fear no conversation. Censorship is pure evil and it makes Satoshi weep. Perhaps Theymos should step down and let someone else be in charge? There are plenty of qualified admins who can take over the baton. Step down Theymos, unless your ego won't let you, it's best for the community. Other things that would be beneficial to the community include: A definition of the forum hierarchy and how decisions are made Open public discussions about policies and their implementation A posting that includes rules and ban policies A privacy policy and a COPPA policy Hell let's put DiamondCardz in charge for a while. At 13 he sees the evil of censorship, it's surprising that as a full grown adult the site admin does not. This site is way too populated to allow this heavy handed arbitrary, non-published, seat of the pants decision making. This is why, in the real world, we have rules and regulations. Here in Theymos world it's just easier to hit the ban-hammer. Oh what power we wield... it's gone to our head. Theymos must think himself the king of the universe. * Viceroy runs away from the arbitrary ban-hammer Yes, although I don't appreciate the "At 13" kind of stuff. I have a very high IQ compared to my peers, and I go to a selective school. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) In a decentralized and ideal community, age doesn't and shouldn't matter. Hell, if an 8 year old is mature enough to handle it, why shouldn't an 8 year old be a moderator or administrator (theoretically speaking here)? However, I agree. Censorship isn't good, and it definitely doesn't belong in Bitcoin. You can't pull the "forums are centralized" arguments, because you can take action to make forums more decentralized. Unban Matthew, theymos: it's the correct thing to do, rather than this complete mess.

By the way, I meant "poorly translated" ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I didn't think about translating to other languages, is it really useful as bitcointalk is in english? Well, there are a whole lot of active "Local" forums... I'm talking about the bitcointalk interface No problem for me if you want translations Yeah, I know, I just mean it would be quite useful if the interface is translated.

How can we be sure that you don't store the private key to steal us later?
This, also. I bet the OP wouldn't even use the partprivkey method.

Send a PM to theymos, although I doubt he'll give candoo a tag as he apparently doesn't give out tags anymore.

@Viceroy: Excerpt from the Design Paper: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgyazo.com%2Fff6e1143158a656dd6cc68728cce5433.png&t=663&c=H8sia2U7M6TmJg) Censorship isn't allowed in the new forum. As far as i'm informed it is not allowed here either. And well controversial mod actions will not be stopped by saying they are not allowed. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) * DiamondCardz goes back to read the Design Paper Well, I did include something that would fix that. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgyazo.com%2F0801e3e8459db9afcb1d222f5816aa38.png&t=663&c=LOo1qbfXkfiUWA) And a lot of people would disagree with you on that with the fact that quite a few people do think censorship goes on here. (Meta section) - MERGE -Added in Section V: Advertisements to the design paper. Added in a poll. Added in Section VI: Rules to the design paper.

That sucks, there isn't any way to get your bitcoins back if you were hacked ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) I literally only bought items from this guy 5 days ago, I feel bad for him ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

Selection of post count?
Just...ugh. Footnote 3: (postcount / 10) + (accountageindays * 2) + (accountactivityinhours * 3) = value that is used. Also, why SMF?
Mainly because bitcointalk runs on SMF. Movement should be smooth. And finally, I'm not sure how I'd feel about you running it. I'm not wanting to sound jerkish,
Well, most of the time you post on my threads you say something along that line and it is pretty jerkish, but go on. but I've seen outbursts from you
In a chatroom, probably. Everyone has outbursts. Please link to an outburst I have made publicly on Bitcointalk, though, I do have a level of control over myself. and annoying things like you "trolling" where you nearly convinced me your account was compromised.
Refer to the above. That was a joke. I'm unsure what would happen if you had the power of running a forum with a large community.
I'm not looking to overthrow bitcointalk. The forum will just be an alternative to bitcointalk if people want to use it.

Step one should be: Achieve critical mass (a large following).
Step two should be: Launch a test site.
But I would make sure step one is in place first otherwise there is little chance of adoption.
Yes, I agree. If step one is completed, I'll launch a collection for pledges to the site, use the money to launch a test site, and get to work. I know that all the ~30 active members of DiaForums will probably join the new forum, so...that is a start. I'm really surprised that someone hasn't went and said "LOL UR 13 YOUNG TWAT" yet. Wow. I applaud you, internet. ;)EDIT: Going to sleep. Will check responses first thing in the morning.

79 of 179 said yes we need a new forum.
More than that, considering some options, such as the 6000 BTC option. --- Question: Should I start a pledge with a goal of 5 BTC, to kick-start the forum as well as pay for advertising?

The top 500 members, based on post count, would be given a vote on who would become a new moderator Bad idea IMO I’m probably not going to always be the head admin I didn't read anything about how the new admin would be chosen 1. Oh shit, I should have noticed that. Already got the fix, I'll add that in. 2. There's not much need to type something in there about how a new head admin would be chosen. I stated how admins would be chosen, to be honest, it wouldn't be hard to have a community-wide vote for admins who are willing to step up to the plate if I resign/die/get eaten by a dog etc... However, I will still add both points in.
