2941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: again a Bitcoin millionaire who forgot his password on: January 13, 2021, 06:14:10 AM
At $200 million value, you'd think IronKey would want to step in and try to reverse engineer or hack their own product to help this dude... It's likely an older drive with many vulnerabilities ready to be discovered.
They wouldn't do that, the OP said that they will seize the contents after 10 failed attempts so it is on their interest that the dude fail from getting the password. Maybe if he tries to find a way, IronKey is not the Apple, someone might be able to do the job for a certain amount of money.
2942  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will BTC go before the next leg up to 45-50k?? on: January 13, 2021, 05:36:17 AM
probably around 20k-25k and it is unlikely that it will fall any lower. because with the increase already hitting 40k, I think if it halves down to 20k it will be normal for bitcoin and then back in the pump.
It will be likely but considering that it will bounce back anytime could be a good time, there are more than one possibility in the price of bitcoin, it could just go and rally back to another ATH which will leave behind those who were waiting for a lower price and among other things. You can split your buy to a 50/50 ratio, get the 50% to be bought right now and the other is for when a dip happens.
2943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: January 13, 2021, 05:02:48 AM

Firstly, you are lucky that whenever you play most of the time you end up winning which generally is opposite for rest of the folks. Secondly since you do not enjoy the game only in gambling so then it’s your personal call and it’s really a long time you are being away from it. Hope with some earnings and investing you would have made yourself a good earning till now and really from student's life itself if you start managing your finances well you will have a good future.
I do not consider myself lucky, to be honest, all it takes is for me to be disciplined, I still go to gambling houses back then but just watch to try my will to not gamble even when there is a chance, I hope that my story is an inspiration to others who try to quit the vices. Good thing that I am learning things about financial stability and education because most of it are not taught in school curriculum.
2944  Economy / Economics / Re: How to invest in Starlink (Elon Musk)? on: January 12, 2021, 07:41:55 AM
Once(and if) they actually plan on going public and go the IPO route then you're going to get that opportunity. Pre-IPO/seed-stage though? Unless you're an accredited investor, then nope.
AFAIK this is the only way that any individual can invest, too bad I am not in America, I want to invest in these big tech companies, most stocks in my country are commerce and electricity based. If you can give Elon a personal investment of around the realm of 10 digits, I think that he will let you in but that is just a wishful thinking.
2945  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Another Yobit Scam: "YoPony & YoPump in 21 hrs!" on: January 12, 2021, 06:44:24 AM
Its nothing new and Yobit is doing this from the beginning. You can call this the most important components of their marketting. To me its nothing but taking the advantage of users database and they are completely taking its benefit. Its not like that anyone will believe on their word but new traders will be affected for sure. Its because they have less knowledge about Yobit and their slefmade price pump related prediction.

I have seen so many exchanges who usually give listing and platform related updates to notify their registered users but Yobit is completely following different track. Another topic created on "Reputation" about this which proved that Yobit email campaigns is taking a good number of people's attention
I am more surprised that even if they are doing this, they still have users. Hopefully, newbie traders and users alike come across the hundreds of complaints about Yobit, and we can take an action against their scummy way of dealing business.

To the users, if someone offers you an insider information in regards to which coin or stock are going down, up and sideways, it is a scam, why would anyone offer that precious information to some stranger that is willing to do a quick buck. Always ask yourself, if I have this information, will I share it?
2946  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Cashpoint Scam! on: January 12, 2021, 06:03:33 AM
Anytime you send coins or money somewhere, you are always at risk of not getting it back, especially gambling or other such sites.

Lesson learned sadly, sorry about that. Happy holidays regardless! Wink
With a lot of these scams getting more prevalent, I do not think that passively accepting what happened is the best course of action, we need some proactive approach to this kind of thing. I feel bad that these people are powerless against these websites, I hope that we can do something about it someday. For the mean time, just be careful about any online transactions, heed what the quote above says.

Hello all.
I forgot to update here.
After I contacted MGA I got my money back and they closed my account .  Wink
Did you also get your profit?
2947  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A giveaway website that pays streamers and audience on: January 12, 2021, 05:29:29 AM

I don't think its frowned upon by the community, rather its frowned upon by those that own the streaming sites since they aren't getting a cut. Although, there's ways to incorporate Bitcoin into the streaming site, and allow a cut very much like you would with traditional currencies.
That's what I just said, Twitch gets a cut every time there is a donation.  Undecided
~
I don't mind advertisements, as long as they aren't the usual drab. A few places actually do advertisements well, but its not common practice. Its usually using the business model of lets make as much money as possible, and we don't care what we advertise, which is something that I can't agree on. Adverts should be handpicked, and relevant to a websites users. No advert that is unrelated should be displayed.
Cheers, I do agree about that, making money without concern for the well being of the client is as archaic as banking systems. I don't want to end up like that Black Mirror episode where your room is surrounded by ads.
~
I personally don't think its a good idea right now. Not in its current climate, because I'm just trying to think of the demographic of Bitcoin. Most of its users prefer privacy, and tend to stay away from revealing their identity. I suppose streaming doesn't always have to reveal your identity though.

That's not suggesting that Bitcoin's demographic wont change down the line though.
Maybe someday we will see something of the same nature, I do not think that the current climate is a problem, it's just that most start ups are subject to being a fraud if a failure and a innovation if successful by the people of the Internet.

Yes, you are right. Our priorities change over time, and we need to know what things need our concern, and not try to do something that is not necessary or become our priority. And now, your priority is the study which is better than the other thing or gamble with your money. When we gamble and lose the money, we will attract to play more to know the next result, and usually, we will forget how long we already played. Holding your bitcoin like what you did means you are investing in bitcoin, and if the price increases are so high, you will make a lot of money from bitcoin.
I am currently torn between hodling and selling my bitcoin but right now the feeling of hodling my funds is stronger than selling it. Not to mistake but I still gamble from time to time although with friends and no high roller stakes so I do not lose my edge. Gambling is fun when you do it with your friends.
2950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Broner vs Campa Feb 13 on: January 12, 2021, 03:03:20 AM

I hope he does, Broner is still good he still has that power, quickness and ring generalship, I based on his last fight against Pacquiao, but Campa can punch he just have to work on his timing and just hope that Broner will display his arrogance and become careless so the knock out punch can get in.
I am not stereotyping but Mexican boxers are real good when it comes to boxing, I am a Pacquiao fan but you have to give props to some Mexican fights that he had. I do agree with you regarding Campa's but he hasn't fought on the American soil yet which could be a good or a bad thing, good because he is already a hard lined fight and bad because he does not have the experience. Broner hasn't won since 2017 so we should expect some effort to win in this match from him.
2951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Broner vs Campa Feb 13 on: January 12, 2021, 02:28:10 AM
I don't like loud-mouth boxers  Smiley, so if the odds on betting for Campa is attractive then i will go for it, same as you mate.

Is this a title fight?
Shallow rivers are the loudest sometimes, there are exceptions though, if the fighter has the skill to back it up then let his/her mouth run wild. They are the best fights to see because we can see if humility topples cockiness. Campa hasn't had a fight for a year now and I think that it will be on his side if he does a lot of training during that time period.

6 years is not a short time to stay away from gambling, and I hope you can still prevent yourself from gambling. You did a great thing for yourself, and not many of young age can do as what you did because many of them will attract to playing gambling, even if that is gamble using small money.
Priorities change overtime I guess, I do not see myself earning a living just by gambling because I know that not everyday is a winning streak and it only takes one bad day for a gambler to lose everything. Even if I want to play, I do not feel the drive to go on and on so I have no problem even if there are stimuli surrounding me. Investing is a better way of earning money, no need to bluff and you will still make money.
2953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: January 12, 2021, 01:01:49 AM
I haven't gambled for about 6 years now, so most of what I earn in signature campaign are invested and hodl. I am still a student so I do not have that much use when I convert my BTC to local currency, I think that it is for the better that I stopped gambling even though the money was rolling back then, I do not feel any joy after playing a lot of games even though most time I am winning.
2954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertising monitored closely on: January 11, 2021, 06:41:11 AM
The more this thread goes the more I think and the more I start to think television advertising and youtube advertising should be banned. I don't think it's something people need to be encouraged to do. If people want to gamble I have no issues and if they want to sign up for a daily list of promotions etc I couldn't argue with that.
You can't ban that even if countries want that, they can't get rid of it, advertisements come in many forms, we are just inclined to see mainstream advertisements but they are everywhere. Plus, advertising is the only way that companies like Youtube and other websites can earn some money, product companies pour billions of dollars for ads and I do not think that it will be banned anytime soon. What we need is a advertisement moderation and quality check not an outright ban.
2955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The gambler who manages to beat the casino through cheating on: January 11, 2021, 05:58:15 AM
~
He is smart to use a special chip that can manipulate the machine without anyone knows on the first time, but sooner or later, he will get caught by the casino, and I am sure that he will get something to pay back the casino. But it will not be easy to apply that chips to the machine without anyone knows as, in the casino, the security officer will not let anyone cheat on their place. Perhaps, he can use that chips on some casino, but he will not have a chance to use the other casino chips because the other casino will be very careful from a gambler who wants to cheat them.
What I am saying is that the man could've got away with it if he planned how to approach the situation, if he acted suspicious like being jumpy or anxious then he will be a sore thumb that could be spotted miles away, maybe if he did some heist type of cheating with that chip, I think that until now, he could have made a living.
2956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 11, 2021, 05:20:53 AM
Should be an explosive fight as both boxers are undefeated and currently reigning in the LightWeight division.

Garcia won via KO in his last 5 fights which is impressive and 3 of those are finished under Round 2-3.

But even with that, a warning to Davis that the fight will end in 2 Rounds is totally crazy and insane. For the record, Davis' last 15 fights are all KO. This will be settled in a split decision I think.
This will not be a split decision, it will be a KO if possible both are knock out artist so we might as well assume that this fight will be bloody, besides Garcia wants to get on a bout with Davis for a long time and I think that with his current achievements, Davis will not be able to just shrug it off. A KO within 2 rounds do sound crazy but it does happen but who knows, I have to agree with you that it will be a good fight, let's see who will get a 1 on their loss first.
2957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul - February 20 on: January 11, 2021, 04:36:52 AM
Yeah i equally checked this for myself but was happy becasue am a die fan of Logan Paul, those who want to see something good and huge could try Logan Paul odds but sincerely there might be a draw in this fight between these two professional boxers (i wouldn't call my favorite a YouTuber but a professional boxer).
The chances of draw is not out of the possibilities but I do not think that it will be a case for this fight, there will definitely be a winner here. This is also the first time that I saw someone like Logan Paul, you know how he filmed a dead body in Suicide Forest in Japan and made jokes about it right plus I find the guy annoying, you are right on your call though about him being a boxer, the Paul brothers are aiming to be a professional so we might as well call them boxers.
2958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attention: Biden has officially won, make sure your sportsbook pay you. on: January 11, 2021, 03:59:48 AM
This is a serious problem, you may know Betfair, as of last November, they had not paid out a winning bet worth $ 1.3 million. I don't know how this case continues or not, I also still remember someone betting on a trump with fantastic value, this could be an unforgettable history for his life. Maybe lucky if he had hundreds millions dollars, a losing 5 million dollar bet meant nothing.
That amount of money needs an involvement of authorities, 1.3 million USD is a lot of money and Betfair not doing their part on paying it is a little scammy in my opinion. Maybe if the winner tries to settle the dispute by issuing a subpoena or some suing things I think that Betfair needs to comply if they want to keep their hands touching cold steel cage bars.
2959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos ordered by IBF on: January 11, 2021, 03:25:10 AM
it says that the tentative date may be during springtime in AU, which falls between sept to nov. so people can already watch this in the arena as more then likely a lot of people already got their covid vaccine shot. that would be good income generating also for their fight, as well as live audience may boost the performance of both fighters. let's wait for their final call on this one, maybe at the end of feb...
Since it is around the Australian continent, I think that the fight will progress without a hitch. The only problem with that is if the live audience are consisted of tourists which could definitely slip through some cracks and cause an infection.

Teofimo seems to be the darling of the crowd because they considered a rematch with Lomachenko which gives him a hard time, considering that Teofimo Sr. and Bob Arum want this fight and Arum sees this as an easy money, I think the odds will be higher on Kambosos.

The guy that made a special chip that manipulates the slot machines is the most cunning of them together with the guy that made tools to manipulate slot machine. He could have get away with the chip if he did a strategy where he doesn't seem suspicious.
