2961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take for a game to "hook" people on: August 15, 2021, 07:45:31 PM
I am asking this because I do have some short of an answer for videogames and for massive multiplayer games and even for social network oriented games. Videogames require a great design, good difficulty grading, an story that engages the user, massive multiplayer and network oriented are a lot about the interactions and how varied and fun these are. However, for casino games, it would seem that these factors are not really the most important ones. You can see games with very basic graphics and design, simple in the options for the player and not that engaging yet they do "hook" people in them.
What do these games have to have for you?

We were all created differently and like different things, sometimes we like things or get hooked to things based on the feeling they create or give us whenever we engage in them. That's why most times, you see an individual claiming to like something for reasons unknown to them or for not reasons not too substantial.

Some like the simplest of things or games, while others like others that are more complex, it is all a matter of feeling created that makes the difference. Some choose video games, some others the most basic casino games, while others may prefer online games. We were all created in manner that there are always people to satisfy and fill in different options, this is the spice of life, variety.

There are a lot of casino games online. Not all games are created equal. A games may not have all the latest game technology, but does it have something else? Is it easy to play? Is it fun? Does it have great promotions?

If the answer to any of these is yes then the website will perform well.
To make sure that the player's experience is the best possible, providers will need to make sure that the websites are easy to navigate, easy to choose what you want to play, easy to sign up and easy to submit the deposit and fund your account.
2962  Other / New forum software / Re: Progress? We're waiting... on: August 15, 2021, 07:26:51 PM
... let's see maybe someone here in the forum has some clear details.

My understanding is that there is only one person who has insight into this. As far as I can see, the last post on this topic was from two years ago. I wonder if anything has changed since then.
2963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can I buy bitcoin by transferring sepa to IBAN number? on: August 15, 2021, 07:16:11 PM
I want to buy bitcoin via sepa invoice or sepa direct credit system. Please give me a reliable site, thank you

I can suggest Bitcoin Store HR, based in Croatia, which is a legitimate company (Digital Assets d.o.o.) and has been operating for years. There is a fee of 2-5% depending on which type of cryptocurrency you are buying. It accepts SEPA transfers and is available to European customers.

Another option from Croatia is bitcoin-mjenjacnica.hr, which comes from the company Electrocoin d.o.o. I have personally used both platforms multiple times, and everything went smoothly every time.
2964  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers/Public will have Access to Quantum Computers in 5-10 years? on: August 15, 2021, 04:29:40 PM
So Quantum Computers will be available to buy in the shops in lets say 10 years time from now and 5 years from now the first commercial business grade quantum computers will be available for sale for businesses.

It's utterly false information and pure speculation. If you had any idea of quantum computing technology, you would not make such nonsense statements.

Quote
Quantum computers can get anyone's private keys in fraction of a second.

Once again, you are completely wrong. That is not how quantum computers work.
2965  Other / New forum software / Re: Progress? We're waiting... on: August 15, 2021, 03:47:23 PM
Putting this up on top, interested to hear some news our new forum, as we are almost halfway to end this year now, maybe we can get something out from theymos? 😅 still cool, just curious...

PROGRESS?...

I second that. In just a few months, we will be wrapping up 2021. What is taking so long?
Or have we given up on the whole idea?
2966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 15, 2021, 12:35:29 PM
My research yields mixed results when I try to find out which Olympics were the most expensive so far.
Some sources state that it was the Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014, which cost approximately US $ 55 billion, while other sources mention the Rio de Janeiro Summer Games in 2016, which cost approximately US $ 11.1 billion.
Anybody know a reliable source with the total cost of hosting Olympic games by country?
2967  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅🍅 wintomato.com 🍅Dice 🍅 Slots 🍅 Sport Betting on: August 15, 2021, 08:13:41 AM
Exploring the site at the moment, one thing I noticed is I can't type on the search bar the keywords I'm looking.
Take note, I'm not registered on the site yet, so my question is, do I need to register first before I can make a quick search?

I have an account, tried to use the search feature but it does not work as well. I cant type anything on the search bar although I can put my cursor on it. It is weird as I can use copy and paste on the search bar, so it is the only way to type on the search bar. Lets say you want to search a specific name of football club, you need to copy the name from other places (google) and paste it on the search bar. It works by using left click on your mouse only as it does not work with Control+V on your keyboard.

The same thing happened to me too. I can't type anything in the search box. It's a weird bug and I think developers should fix it asap.

2968  Other / Meta / Re: Do You Believe a New Forum Software Will Attract More Users to Bitcointalk? on: August 14, 2021, 11:17:56 PM
~
A new forum design would help Bitcointalk a lot to attract more people because right now, Bitcointalk is getting more irrelevant every day, unfortunately. It's sad to see Bitcointalk wasting so much opportunity and if we keep waiting, Bitcointalk will really be an antique shop soon, where almost no one will ever go to.   Undecided

I agree with everything you're saying.

I feel like the new forum software is already way overdue. It's been years since it was announced, and for a long time there has been almost no progress. Other platforms are emerging and evolving, while this forum should be the nexus of the crypto community because after all, it all started here.

In addition, we are also dealing with Ban evasion here.
2970  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think of the Bitcoin Discussion section? Does he need to change? on: August 14, 2021, 09:05:00 PM
Having said that, the altcoin bounties is an entirely different thing all together, their managers are most times even newbies that wouldn't mind if you ban their account or not,
The other big difference of those bounties with bitcoin paying signature campaigns is that, altcoin bounties don't have any limit for maximum number of participants and they accept any user who apply for the bounty.
In altcoin bounties, the budget is fixed and the total money shitcoins they pay doesn't depend on number of participants. This makes them to not reject anyone. They think that if they accept more users, they can have a more successful bounty.

That is true, they prefer quantity over quality, and that is the problem. These campaigns risk no funds at all. If the project fails (which is the case with most of them) they will simply distribute worthless tokens to bounty participants, so they will not lose anything. As a result, we have to deal with a huge amount of low quality and spam posts on our forum. Also, the number of reports moderators receive is on the rise, so I am assuming it is becoming more difficult for them to stay in the loop with everything that is going on.
2971  Other / Meta / Re: Do You Believe a New Forum Software Will Attract More Users to Bitcointalk? on: August 14, 2021, 12:14:28 PM
There are relatively few advertisements on the forum. If there is a brand new forum, many old members on the forum will not be interested in the new forum.
This forum has accumulated a lot of history. If there is a new software, it means restarting. Many meaningless topics have to be talked up again. There are many topics that have already been discussed.

I think you are mistaken about this

Like Pmalek said, a new forum software doesn't mean a restart. Think of it as a forum refit. According to my understanding, the complete database with all the topics, posts, user data, etc., will remain untouched by the upgrade process. The only thing that will change, from our perspective, will be the user interface and look and feel of the forum.
2972  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think of the Bitcoin Discussion section? Does he need to change? on: August 14, 2021, 12:01:47 PM
For a change I'll suggest the spam busters over there should be a little more strick. More reporting should be encouraged and not just replies but also threads having similar contact. A glance at the board and you can identify two to three thread having similar content. In summary more attention should be given to the board as it's the most vital of all other boards.

Totally agree. But not just spam busters. Everybody who visits these boards should be more engaged in preventing spam and keeping them clean. Also, bounty managers can be extremely useful here, since most spammers post purely to meet signature campaigns quotas. While I understand that it can sometimes take a lot of time when there are many participants and a lot of posts, but every bounty manager should plan their campaign so that quality control is a part of their process, not just weekly counting of posts. After all, a campaign won't be much of a success if most of its participants and their pots end up on the ignore lists of a large number of forum members, right?
2973  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's not the end, $60k again on: August 14, 2021, 10:55:36 AM
The behavior of BTC has been somewhat bullish, for now the $ 45k represents a very encouraging figure, since it touched levels of $ 47k and has dropped, in fact for now it has been falling a little more than 3%, but it is natural for this type to occur. correction, what we must take into account is that many bulls are responding to bearish attacks, which is not bad at all, the short-term analysis shows the following:
<cut>

New highs are highly unlikely until prices move above $47700 or $48000. In the last few hours, the BTC price experienced a massive bearish reaction near $48k level. We need to break this resistance to climb above the $50000 level again.

source: https://t.me/CryptoKlondike/6756

In the short term, both $45000 and $46700 support levels can be retested before breaking the marked resistance level. Alternately, if $45000 is broken, a lower support level awaits near the $42000 level.
2974  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: August 14, 2021, 10:24:56 AM
@Pmalek recently posted this great topic: (Table) Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos

According to this, Roobet's withdrawal fees aren't as bad compared to some other popular casinos, and they're nowhere near as high as at, for example, Wolf.bet, Cloudbet or Betcoin. Although, I agree that they could be lower, especially now that we have fairly low transaction fees and low congestion on the Bitcoin network.

By the way, I was surprised to see that there are some casinos that provide free withdrawals, meaning there are no transaction fees at all. I wonder how they manage this.

2976  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: August 11, 2021, 12:12:02 AM
There might be still some players who do really much prefer on all in one type of casino but still there would be a die hard fan on sticking with those dedicated bookies.

Yes, I agree. I personally prefer an "all in one" type of casino because then I don’t have to transfer funds between different platforms. When I dedicate a certain amount of funds to betting, it is easier to deposit in a single casino than to distribute it among several different casinos. I love gambling, mostly dice, but also, sometimes I play sports betting, especially if I notice some tempting odds. Having everything on one platform will be so much easier.
2977  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: August 08, 2021, 09:06:51 PM
I wonder how many more sports will be added?

Do you expect to see any particular sport on their platform? It looks like Roobet added many popular sports on their betting page include even popular cybersports like cs:go and dota 2, and I guess it is more than enough for the first time.

Now I see that they already cover most of the popular sports. I had trouble opening the Sports Betting page, so I mistakenly assumed, from screenshots posted online, that they only offered a few sports.
Anyhow, I am glad the page is working now so I can explore the whole offer more thoroughly.
2978  Economy / Economics / Re: Why would people ever use bitcoin if its expected to always go up? on: August 08, 2021, 08:50:58 PM
Bitcoin is conceived primarily as a digital currency. These days, for most people, its most tangible use is as an investment tool.

Bitcoin may do well as an investment. Or it may not. We will never know for sure, while the market for bitcoin as an investment vehicle is ramping up, the market for bitcoin as a currency is dwindling. But I think there will always be people willing to spend their coins. To begin with, miners sell bitcoin to cover their mining costs. Investors liquidate their investments for a variety of reasons. And finally, there are users whose salary is paid in bitcoin, who need to pay their daily living expenses.

When u hear/read a coin have a burning plan in their roadmap - is it a always buy in before and sell when it happen? ( Excluded shitcoins).

In my opinion, it is impossible to generalize like that. There are many factors affecting the price of a coin / token. Just because a coin has a burning event scheduled doesn't mean the price will rise following it.
