2961  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: December 25, 2021, 11:22:54 AM
That's a great news @Baofeng, this fight will happen for sure next year and we will see Casimero again as a champion. Previously, we are talking of Inoue vs Donaire fight only, but with this development, there's a big chance that the Inoue vs Casimero will happen first as long as Casimero will win this one.
^ That is if Casimero will win this fight, the chances of winning of Butler it seems not far beyond and I think, he could take advantage of Casimero's weakness since I don't think if Casimero has been fully recovered of his sickness. I don't think Casimero will fully be recovered on that day or we are expecting an excuse from him. If he will lucky and able to win this match against Butler, then there would be Inoue vs Casimero fight.
The thing that I don't like is Casimero because of his trash talk which is I don't want to place a bet with him.
If this is Covid-19 infection, then I would agree with your premise that Butler should take advantage because Casimero is weaken by the virus. But this is a different illness that hits Casimero and I doubt that he will be affected by it. And yeah, if he thinks that he can't go and fight 100% then he will definitely not go with the Butler match. So regardless of his trash talking, his chances to win against Butler is still very good in my opinion.
2962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: December 25, 2021, 10:49:10 AM
So after Barrios gets KO by Tank Davis, he decided to go up to the welterweight where in there's a lot of big puncher? The only reason I can think of is that he really is too big for 140 lbs and there's no way he can make that weight in his next fight.

For Thurman, it's been a long layoff away from boxing, but yes, probably this is a cherry pick fight for his comeback. Because admit it or not, Barrios can't take his punches so Thurman has all the advantages in this fight.
2963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Historical Bitcoin Prices😊 on: December 25, 2021, 10:25:33 AM
^^ Of course we might say that 2017 is a golden year for bitcoin and altcoins.

And maybe majority of us here really did enjoy that year because it was the first time we we get involved in crypto and bitcoin and happy to see the price hits all time high that year.

But 2020-2021 was very different year as the growth is really tremendous. Next stop is $100k, but it might take the next 2-4 years to get to it.
2964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 24, 2021, 05:00:22 PM
The Hawks upsets the 76ers.  Shocked What the hell!! That's +10.5 spread for the Hawks because they are undermanned without Trae, Capella, and a lot more players that are listed in the health and safety protocol. Whoever took the bet for the money line of the Hawks here will have a happy Christmas.  Cheesy

From what I remember, the odds were over 3 for the Atlanta Hawks. What a big upset and bettors who take risks are enjoying their profits. Recently, I noticed that it's hard to trust the odds on Moneyline. Teams on the bottom are upsetting the favorites. Even betting on totals is not the thing you can rely on now.

Much better to bet on handicaps for at least a better chance for profits. What's your experience recently guys?

Lost of unexpected wins when covid-19 strike within, some players are out due to health protocol as the chemistry might mess up, with that said, I feel that betting on the underdog makes us profitable, no brainer, just follow the strategy and enjoy the profit.
Of course, it's better to bet n the handicap it makes the game much worth exciting to watch. I love to bet on the Warriors games, specially if they are playing at home, they usually have a good percentage to cover the handicap at they win on a double digit lead, maybe except the last game, but still a win for us for handicap as high as -8.5.
2965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: December 24, 2021, 04:36:45 PM
Here we go again, we are still underestimating Ugas despite what he displayed during his fight with Manny Pacquioa. I did check the betting odds to confirm whether Ugas is the underdog but it looks like there's no odds available yet or any article that tells about a possible betting odds of this fight, so I'm guessing maybe it's too early to talk about this fight? lastly, is it confirm already?

I think we are not underestimating Ugas, but he is facing a young fighter and is a champion in his own right. And it will be obvious why would he be the underdog here. Yes, he is the underdog as well in the Pacquiao fight, but overnight Manny become old and enough for Ugas to have a upset win. Not yet confirm, but reports are flying around that they are just finalizing it.
2966  Economy / Speculation / Re: New all time high record | $66,000 on: December 24, 2021, 04:18:32 PM
Bitcoin market recovery is not that difficult I think, although it has fallen from a high of $70k to a low of $45k more or less. but to be able to re-break the highest is not as difficult as one thinks. I think this correction is only affected by year-end conditions and the closing of the economy's finances, so the price is slightly scratched.
The path has always been difficult in my opinion, and why would I say that? it's because we might enter bear market next year. Although we have bounce back above $51k, we have to look at how it will going to hold or sustain. Usually, this kind of spike is artificial and manipulated by some entity because it's Christmas. Seen this in the last bull run session in 2017.
2967  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: December 23, 2021, 06:39:40 PM
Unfortunately, it is what it is, and yes, no need to change the venue of the fight. The promoters have invested their money already here. And they are not going to just move the venue somewhere else because it will involved another set of money that they can't recoup.

I'm not really sure who set up this fight and why in Japan, I reckon the deal was brokered by Murata's manager that's why it will be held in their country. Nonetheless, it's a good choice because Japanese loves their boxers as they think of them as national hero's too. But as you have said, their government has really to do this measures not to allow any sporting events in their country to prevent the spread of the new Covid-19 variant so the fight should wait a bit.
There are probably many factors about why this is the case, the first factor is the money, GGG is a star all over the world but this is not the case for Murata, and since he is the champion then it makes sense for him to receive more money home than in any other venue.

And the second factor is that as we know as the local and the champion Murata will have an advantage with the judges, and it will allow him to more easily retain his title, and that advantage is important when you are fighting someone like GGG.
We've discussed about the hometown decision few pages back, while there are individuals who agree with how the way you see it. However, we all know how discipline the Japanese is, so I doubt that there will be homecook decision just in case the fight goes to the judges scorecard. So with that said, I don't think that Murata will have an advantage to the judges. If they see that their boy is losing, then they are going to score it the way it is and not make it appear that he won the fight.
2968  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise or fall. on: December 23, 2021, 12:34:19 PM
Hello beautiful people,

What you think bitcoin will rise or fall.

This is a very tricky question and i don't think anyone has the perfect answer for this. For Bitcoin to rise, it has to cross the 52-53k resistance level and in order to fall it will have to move below 40k. In which direction market will move, only time will tell us.
The $50k resistance is too big to conquer right now, the wall is big enough that we can't get over with. We have attempted several times already that I've lost count. So with that said, I think we are leaning towards a bear market next year. Again, this is just my personal opinion, take it or leave it, but at least I'm going to prepare myself and brace for a worst crypto winter.
2969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When bear market? on: December 23, 2021, 11:42:02 AM
The bear market is almost at the end of the year, bitcoin prices continue to grow at high numbers we can see some altcoins have grown with market movements starting to rise and investors have started to accumulate some altcoins in their portfolios, when the bear market occurs crypto will be more and more in demand by the community.
And we are almost at the end of the year now, so we might as well prepare for the worst bear market to come in 2022. And if everything repeats itself, the 4 year cycle would have to end this year 2021, because it's 2017-2021 cycle. For those who have experience it already, yes, it's a good time to accumulate good altcoins and then wait another good 3 years for it to rise again and make profits.
2970  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 23, 2021, 11:08:49 AM
Milwaukee Bucks still managed to win in the absence of Giannis. Their opponent, Rockets, was at the last place of its conference though but still it was a nice win by 126-106. J. Holiday continued to take responsibility in this game also and made a nice double-double having 24 pts and 10 reb. This time, Middleton also helped him having 23 pts. They are at the 3rd place in their conference now.
I'm not surprised with that, they played against the Rockets who are not a good team, or I should say at the bottom of the standing while the Bucks are in a playoff standing. Bucks are a team that does not only rely on Giannis, they have improved already that's why they were successful, if you see their series against the Hawks, they missed Giannis in few games but they still manage to win.
What surprises though is that the Rockets although in the bottom of the standing, have been putting a good string of win, but probably not against the Bucks though. Holiday and Middleton is enough for the Bucks to take this win as they have proven that they can win without Giannis many times in the past already. And speaking of Bucks, Ersan Iİlyasova a former Buck sign with the Bulls for a 10 day contract.
2971  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 22, 2021, 07:15:00 PM
This is also my impression specially when she disappeared from the public and I'm thinking that the government is trying to cover her tracks as if to completely erase everything from the internet.

Anyhow, we do hope that they will make some actions about this 'allegations'. Tennis world haven't been rock with this some kind of scandals in the last 10 years and hopefully there will be others coming out.
2972  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of the NFTs on: December 22, 2021, 06:53:20 PM
It's really hard to tell what will be the future of NFT's.

I guess it all depends on investors and if  they want to continue this hype. Or maybe there will be a new one next year that will relegate NFT's to the background.

The best thing to do is really take advantage of it, specially if you are a artist to make some money out of your 'talent'.
2973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2021 Bitcoin market recaps on: December 22, 2021, 05:46:39 PM
The year 2021 have been a great year for bitcoin first because more institutions and companies adopted Bitcoin, and also Bitcoin did two times all-time high which was in strategic bull run season that has continued until this time that the year is almost coming to an end.
Indeed 2021 is a great year for Bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market.
How about the taproot protocol or soft fork?

It was just last month when it was activate isn't it? But I do agree that it was a great year. It will really be out of the roof if we hit the prediction of $100k for this year. However, it didn't happen because of some unforeseen like the discovery of a new covid-19 variant that really trigger a massive sell off from our last all time high.
2974  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 22, 2021, 02:36:40 PM
Thanks to their great performance in the last two quarters, Phoenix Suns got a very important win against LA Lakers last night by 108-90. It is a really huge victory when we consider that Lebron James and Westbrook were in this game also. Davis couldn't play at Lakers due to knee injury. I think that Lebron and Westbrook still played really great. Lebron got 34 points and 7 rebounds. And Westbrook made a double-double by 22 points and 12 rebounds. Even if Westbrook scored a near amount to Lebron's, Suns would have still won this. They felt the absence of Davis.

Lebron though seems to suffered a injury, Westbrook? he committed a lot of turnovers, Anthony gets ejected, THT like 1/10, so it was really a bad night for the Lakers and I doubt that they can overcome the Suns even before the game.

Phoenix playing good defense too and again Chris Paul showing his experience and veterans move to illicit a foul. Even if Davis is present though, I think the Suns are going to way in my book.
2975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: December 22, 2021, 01:27:48 PM
Judging from others comment, I think's safe to assume Ugas will be a heavy underdog. If it becomes 5 to 1, I'll definitely bet on him Grin

If the fight pushes through, Ugas is pushing his luck too much,
That could be true but why not? He's a fighter after all trying to build a legacy of his own and fighting the best is the only way to do it. Chances like this doesn't come too often and anyone would likely take it. Besides, he earned it.
Hmm, not seeing him that he will be 5 to 1 underdog here, most probably the bookies are going to start with 3 to .

But yeah, as I have said, maybe Ugas can pull an upset so he is a live underdog here.

So for those who love to bet on such odds, this is another perfect opportunity, not huge underdog odds though, but still 3 to 1 or 4 to 1 will be good and attractive enough for me.
2976  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: December 21, 2021, 02:03:27 PM
I'm really expecting Mark Magsayo will pull this one. PH boxers are now taking spotlights on the world of boxing. It's good to see them as our own Manny Pacquiao is now retired. I hope for more big fights involving a PH boxer will happened next year.

Magsayo is also a rising star the same as Gaballo that's why I like them to always have the spotlight.
I think Magsayo has proven himself already as compare to Gaballo who we just heard in 2021.
But yes, PH boxers are now in the limelight, specially with Donaire still fighting and hopefully Casimero can come back in the picture. And Magsayo and Gaballo and the rest of PH boxers will continue to bring glory and carry the torch. And hopefully Mark can overcome a tough fight ahead of him.
2977  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if $70k was Bitcoin ATH for the year? on: December 21, 2021, 12:12:31 PM
My immediate thoughts on the new ATH and then it trading underneath that would be that market disappointment would lead to selling.   To break upwards but not hold it did seem bearish to me, of course we never know if the falter is just temporary or more of a regular pattern unfolding.  Now its had the trend down we have to conclude further revision of prices since July low must occur before proper upper BTC development can occur.    Stability in pricing is a positive in the end, its best not to rise uncontrollably as it will only collapse and do far more damage.
Right now the price action is steady even while negative its better this way then rapid changes that cause long term uncertainty and fear of holding, you can exit here any time or not fear too much to just buy and wait.
A lot of uncertainty right now, I'm sure there are some investors thinking of selling and probably buy when the price goes down. On the other hand, there could be investors just wanting to hold and not do anything stupid. Yes, it's stable and any break out run could occur, but it's really base on the sentiments on the market and currently it looks bearish to me.
2978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: December 21, 2021, 11:37:50 AM
Chicago Bulls got another win by defeating the team at the last place in the Western Conference, Houston Rockets. Since Harden left the team, Rockets have been falling apart and we see this clearly in their performances. They won only 10 times in 31 games so far. And they lost this game by 133-118 also. Bulls continue chasing the leader team which are Brooklyn Nets now. They revolutionized their roster and they have its benefits this season a lot.
Well they put up a string of victories as well and at one time have a 4 game winning streak if I'm not mistaken. It's just that they face a red hot team like Bulls in their homecourt. They still have the momentum winning big against the Lakers last night. So it's a back to back games, but they are not affected, as you have said, DeRozan again and then Ball hitting open 3 that blows the game wide open in the first quarter.
2979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who’s who in the gambling subforum? on: December 21, 2021, 10:00:21 AM
In the sports I followed, tennis we have @Trofo and @aoluain who I valued their opinion specially on betting.

I think in NBA there are a lot of them, we have @stadus in his thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5091185.0.

But this is a nice thread, those names the OP mentioned in other sports knows their sports very much.
2980  Economy / Speculation / Re: Supercycle or Halving cycle still? on: December 21, 2021, 09:07:24 AM
I for one tends to believed that we might see a super cycle, but after seeing what goes this December? Which historically is a good month, I don't think we will like 2 super cycle or bull runs.

We might see the repeating cycle of every 4 years and it can still holds true this bulls/bears in 2021. So again, everyone should be prepared as we might experienced a bearish cycle already, just saying.
