The odds on Sevilla winning in Zagreb tonight are unexpectedly high, I will be going both for Sevilla win and Sevilla handicap win.
Although Sevilla has a good result from the 1st game, they are still a much better team and should be winning - especially because Dinamo will be without 2 really important players (Arijan Ademi and Luka Ivanuec). Dinamo needs to play offensively and Sevilla will know how to use the space provided, especially since Dinamo's midfield will be really weakened.
I don't think Sevilla will win with handicap, if they win, they will have 0:1 or something, hard to see them in high-scoring match but two best matches I expect later, between Napoli and Barcelona (seeing Napoli in next round) and Rangers - Dortmund, where should be goals and attractive football (would probably watch this one)

~snip
Also, Fenerbahçe almost doesn't chance for passing the round. I hope they can at least score some goals so we can enjoy the match.
why do you think that? yeah, they lost first match at home, but Slavia is far from secure in next round Partizan is playing Sparta at home, with similar score (winning 0:1) in Prague, and I am not 100% sure that we will pass through, although chances are good will be interesting in match between Vittesse and Rapid, goals should be over2.5 there, and Vittesse has good chances to pass through

I thought Burnley had just a lucky win against Brighton and thought they could not win against the team that did come from the game where they beat Manchester City ~snip
yeah, Burnley now has two wins in a row, and they are almost out from relegation zone Newcastle is a bit above, and Everton and Leeds above them, all candidates for relegation, hoping that Everton will stay, and Leeds seems as candidate to fight Burnley, since Newcastle is a lot better than in first half of the season regarding Tottenham, it is hard to comment their performance this season, having putting surprises all the time

~snip I got screwed by both Ajax AND Atleti, but as you and others pointed out, Spaniards weren't to be relied upon either.
same here, and it was good at one moment, with both teams on the lead but in the end, finished with two draws and zero points with whole round finished, seems that Chelsea, Liverpool and City are the only one secure in next round, Premier league domination continues

Damn, just saw the video of Zverev going apeshit on the umpire. Don't recall recently seeing an umpire pissing his pants heh. So out goes the defending champ. Makes me wonder how bookies settle this type of thing, I haven't actually bet on tennis and got my pick thrown out of the tournament.
Winner of the day: Peter Gojowczyk, who gets a WO.
not sure what to call here, how can be so upset about double match? yeah, Peter is a winner, he gets WO, and pass through bookies handle this one as any other WO, probably, and it depend on each bookie, how they handle that, it could be a void, or it could be Peter to win, but mostly would just void this one, since it was not starter at all

|
|
~snip It was general flop, It's impressive how some got 9 points, but all those points came from exact scores.
I think that this is a first complete round that I finished without any points cannot say that all results were unexpected, but obviously were not "my cup of tea" on the other hand, had been solid with both-to-score on bookings, seems as 1:1 now a favorite score in Calcio
|
|
|
~snip Good calls, both
TBH, did not expected for Villareal to be back after fast goal by Vlaovic, but Juventus is obviously far away from team that was few years ago after Torino, Villareal was also back after being down against Juventus, and that proves that Juventus is not having champion winning mentality regarding tonight, I will go with Atletico and Ajax to win

~snip Yes, interesting to see Djokovic playing today against Musetti. Looking at the schedule for Dubai it looks like some of the "Big Names" are there, Rublev, Sinner, Shapovalov, Bautista Agut, Basilashvili and Murray.
looking at draw, it would not be that easy for Djokovic to pass through, all players that have beat him on best-of-3 matches in the line, first Khachanov, then Bautista-Agut (three wins over Djokovic during career), semi-final should be an easy one, and final depend on opponent Rublev or Sinner should be a bit harder, but nothing special I remember even GS's, where he did not have this hard line of opponents to reach final
|
|
|
~snip I'd go for Under 2.5 in both games for tonight. Although I've got both Juventus and Chelsea to win in the pool.
under on both matches seems as a good choice, but one should be careful on the other hand, Chelsea to win is no value bet, and Juventus is hardly poised to win tonight I will go with draw in Spain, will see what will came up, it is a beer money ticket, with some other bets, hockey and volleyball

Not the best of games in the CL today - it often happens that these early knockout stages are unattractive, at least on paper.
Chelsea should win easily today, whereas I believe Villarreal can really make things complicated for Juve. I will probably watch that one, I hope to see Vlahović in action.
yeah, looking at matches, and it does seem as it is not CL round nevertheless, Chelsea should win, but it will be difficult, Lille could be good in defense, if they start with their bus in front of the goal, not sure that they can score on the other side Juventus had hard time on weekend, but they are in good form, while Villareal is not CL quality, will be interesting

|
~snip Going to just switch off and hope Celta salvages my Monday, no points anywhere to be found.
Levante pull of a point, to put an end on this round who would call that from Napoli, Celta and Bologna, only the later will win their game on Monday, but then it is always crazy Monday, and most of the time, results like these nevertheless, happy with this round, Sevilla was a booger, did not see them drawing with Espanyol, and everything else is much-less expected
|
|
|
~snip Probably I need to make short break in betting.
sometime it is wise to make that I was betting too much four-five years ago, and decided to quit for a while, then started to play with beer-money stakes, and I feel much better now, having fun making bets that usually do not get through, but it is not much on stake, so nothing to worry about this round is disaster for me as well in the pool, but MoSala is on fire

Yup, Inter also my shameful bet of Sunday. At least I lost on Leeds and even Furth but they were both very possibly on the cards for an upset! ~snip
I never go against Bayern, they are far superior team in their country (probably even the bigger difference than PSG to other teams) and I do not risk betting against them of course, they can lose some matches here and there, and it is just probability, there is no pattern that some team can play better against them, if they want to play, even Dortmund or Leipzig can conceive several goals back to Calcio, Lazio played boring 1:1, with Udinese, but at least both-to-score came
|
|
|
~snip Ajax is like Bayern
agree, and PSV is as Dortmund, they can win title here and there, but we all know which team is the best it is hard to be always on top, but these two teams are usually there, and they miss some seasons, but both are playing best when needed Ajax is playing Benfica on Wednesday, and that is a really important match for them, to mark their spot in next CL round

What is actually the reason that Nadal refers the tournament in Mexico over the one in Dubai? ~snip
it is probably sponsors Nadal is playing in Mexico, since that is Spanish speaking country, and sponsors probably like it that way, while Djokovic is better suited on Middle East and Far East (he often have sponsors from Japan, Uniqlo for a long time) nevertheless, Djokovic will vouch for Nadal, since Medvedev could be first if win in Acapulco , will be interesting to see his performance in Dubai after all the drama ~snip I think the question is more why Djokovic is playing in Dubai? I guess he can't go to Mexico cause of covid pass.
Djokovic plays Dubai every season, probably sponsors as well

~snip Yeah, so far this is proper derby and after 60 minutes of game we haven't saw any goals scored. Athletic so far is more active and aggressive, while Real Sociedad haven't been dangerous. But I didn't expected that it will be match without goals.
four goals in the end, and Bilbao trashed Sociedad, who would see that coming after 60 minutes they were a bit better whole match, but scored almost all opportunities after first goal, nevertheless missing penalty in first half Celta is closing this round tonight, should be an easy home win, but Levante won in Madrid, and maybe they could repeat the upset

Feel like Ronaldo time in United is coming to the end.
agree, and it looks like a complete miss for him not sure about Messi time in PSG (they could won CL, and change everything for him), but Ronaldo completely missed point leaving Juventus for Manchester, hard time for him (not that he made something significant in Juventus as well (regarding titles in Europe), but this United play is really miserable) it will be probably be best for him to stop, or go to MLS
|

Ajax won 0:1, but those are the games when you show your championship aspirations, win every time, no matter is that 0:1 or 0:4 PSV and Feyenoord won as well, and Utrecht played good match against Vittesse, draw in the end 1:1, but solid football
will be interesting to see PSV and Ajax in Europe, PSV is playing re-match in Isreal, will be a tough one

Should have been a bit more adventurous than 2-0 pick but who'd have guessed 4-1 anyway? Not much interest in remaining La Liga games tonight, nor anything else really, and I can't bear to see how it's turning out for me in this pool haha. GL to those watching.
there is a Basque derby tonight somehow believe that this match would be good to watch (somehow I like this derby very much), although it was a boomer last few times, without much actions, even when they played for Copa Del Rey regarding Barca, it was expected, not that I thought 1:4, but Valencia secured their middle table spot, and focused on Copa Del Rey trophy
