A late goal gave Ajax a narrow 0:1 win today. Ajax had an overwhelming 73% of the ball, but they scored in minute 81 to extend their lead. PSV and Feyenoord now have to follow suit to stay in the race for the title, even though it is almost hopeless to challenge Ajax for the title.

Ajax indeed only just won, but those victories also suffered. At one point I even saw a ball occupied for Ajax of 75% against 25% of Willem 2. It will make little difference to Ajax that they hadn't won big. It was also very bad weather at Willem 2 in the Netherlands, it was not that easy. And another disallowed goal. Ajax still the strongest club in Eredivisie, the club had 34 Eredivisie trophies. when I look at the picture they never lose in all tournaments and still the favorite champions in this session. by the way, they defeated the rival Feyenoord 1-0 last weekend.

Ajax all the way. They hold an impressive record which the others find hard to beat. Psv and AZ Alkmaar are also another set of interesting clubs to put your money on but can't compare Ajax.

Yep, at first I felt they wanted to play with a counterbalancing style from Ajax considering the formation they did, but indeed this is a big mistake and actually I think their formation with a defensive strategy is actually not very suitable but they played quite well by placing almost all of their players when attacked by ajax.
Pretty good defense and strategy but it's a shame they had to lose by a narrow score

Yes I don't think it can be expected that Ajax will give away a couple of games this season and since Ajax and PSV already played against each other, there won't really be any chances for PSV to catch up with Ajax anymore. I would say that even though it is only four points, these four points seem to be a lot more than they would under normal circumstances. Ajax just keeps delivering week after week and I guess it is more likely that PSV might be demoralized soon and maybe even lose another game when Ajax keeps on winning.

I was a bit surprised you mentioned my post in 2021, at that time Ajax is my favorite, but for this year (2022) I choose PSV. I know it's hard to even Ajax always won and has achievement win 10 a row, but PSV still has a chance. Moreover, only 5 points difference, and the game still many that possible Ajax will get slip if the player is unguarded plus the number of matches they have played, Champions League and etc, that make break concentration each player.

I'm curious about the game against Benfica and how Ajax will then fare against Go Ahead Eagles at the weekend, or whether they might have a slip-up in the league, financially the game against Benfica is probably more important.

Well we have seen the first leg now, which Ajax isn't probably too happy about.

Regarding the league, this season Ajax is even more crazy than Bayern to a certain degree but there is also a crazy anomaly which I mentioned months ago. Considering that Ajax conceded only five!!! goals, it is actually weird that they already dropped points in five games. 3 ties and 2 losses with 5 conceded goals after 23 games, that shows how efficient their opponents must have been. Usually you would expect no points dropped at all with a statistic of 70 to 5 goals after 23 games.

Even though in the last 2 matches this club has been quite good in performance, but it is certain that Ajax will be very favored because indeed they will only play against lower teams but it will still be very difficult for PSV because they will play against Heerenveen who incidentally they are currently at. mid-table although their performance is not good enough now.
I think this is decisive for PSV because indeed if they want to compete well enough they will inevitably have to win this match.

Groningen is beating Willem 2, we are in the very last minute of the match. The score is currently 1-0 in favor of Groningen. Willem II has really fallen very far this season, and are now even 15th. Chances of relegation are quite realistic. And after 5 matches they were even 2nd in the competition. Twente, on the other hand, is doing very well with a 5th place, which nobody thought possible of this team.

I completly agree and i think Ajax with how they are playing now they are for me in one of the top 5 clubs in the world. Everybody underestimate them in Champions league but they will go really far. In their home league they are slowly running away from PSV and i think PSV cannot catch them.

PSV has won its match, but again with the greatest possible effort. They were 1-0 behind at halftime, but Sparta played with 10 men and then PSV managed to score 2 times and eventually win 1-2. Ajax has had a very difficult time at Go Ahead Eagles so far, it is now half time but Ajax is 2-0! behind and seems to be running into defeat. The title battle seemed decided, but if Ajax loses this, we will still have an exciting denouement. Ajax can also easily win this with 2-3
