i think buying through mining is what is happening, DSH hashrate is really high for the current price. DSH is ~500kh compared back then at ~50kh.

..when it begins to sour there will be an alcohol content--used by drunkards(they have their mixes)

Off topic here, when I was in Banaue I was offered coconut wine by the locals, I declined since I had a long bus ride ahead of me, and now I can be glad that I did with my new knowledge of it's laxative qualities  Cool

I forgot to tell, when it begins to sour or when it is for alcohol consumption, there will be no more laxative effect. Laxative effect is for fresh and sweet coconut sap only.

This maybe off topic but this can help mr. Anonymint out there.

I would recommend for him to look at health benefits of colon cleansing and enemas. Fermenting foods also can boost his health because there are vitamis that don't exist even in greens..i think it was vitamin B12, researched on that a few years back...try looking at youtube for liferegenerator and lou corona they have infos that are helpful

For those who are suffering Multiple Sclerosis or any sort of chronic disease, I understand your suffering (even though others readers really can't feel and understand your suffering) and I want to tell you that I am having a miraculous result thus far several days after a 10 day fasting.

...

 Cheesy

This is so incredibly off-topic but while you are at it let me suggest: have you tried getting your hands on local coconut vinegar? kind of looks like this:

Although I believe this one is the "tuba" derivative which is consumed as an alcoholic beverage.

When I'm in the Philippines it's part of almost all of my meals and has the perfect combination of coconut goodness and the spice you're looking for (I believe they use bird eyes chilies to make it)

Anyway... good stuff  Grin

Tuba is coconut sap..

Within 4 hours after harvest tuba is reddish brown, this is made into coco sugar for export and local consumption. After four hours it will start to turn cloudy white, this is still sweet with the hint of sourness (this is reject for coco sugar, i know a farmer who turn this into coco syrup with a hint of sour but it is still good).

Fresh, sweet coconut sap will have a laxative effect after you drink more than two cups---this is good for cleaning your intestines

Refrigerate or freeze to lengthen freshness...when it begins to sour there will be an alcohol content--used by drunkards(they have their mixes)

Any leftover can be stored (container 70% full) at room temperature with the cap a little bit open (will explode if tightly closed) to make vinegar, to make the vinegar more sour, remove the "mother"--the thing that settles at the bottom and store it again..

I don't know why there are people here in the Philippines who go after apple cider..but raw coconut sap vinegar is better and i can purchase coconut sap for only 2.22$ for 10 liters and i cant consume it all, most of it is made it into vinegar.

@tptb_need_war

Just a tip: try to trim the coconut skin to make it smaller and put them in the refrigerator, this will make your coconuts fresh for a week or more, and opening the coconut that is already cold will save you time to chill and it will always taste better because it is newly opened compared to putting it in the pitcher and refigerating it.

To test a coconut if it is too young, old or just right:
 - hold it up on your palm and tap it downwards with your other palm, you can feel through the vibration that the coconut is young, old or just right, practice makes perfect.

lol..

like generalizethis i'm not so fond of the bible, i washed myself of those religion stuff, i just filter or skip and just harness the point, logic and reason....but somebody's gonna talk ^  Grin

i like to make fun of things written there (bible) but i'm over it..those are the days of loitering and having fun with religious and philosophical discussions.

The One World Currency & Cryptocurrencies

Armstrong's Follow Up

arielbit (are you my neighbor?) it will be much more efficient to train fish vendors here in Philippines how to operate a smartphone. Private bank issued tokens would be too numerous, confusing, and not trusted as they will cheat and fail (as they in the 1800s in the USA). Don't you see everyone wants a smartphone.

yes, i am a Filipino.. had some laughs reading your posts describing Filipinos  Grin

i've been to some places where if there is some electrical line problem it takes a week or two and to a month or more for typhoon damaged lines to be fixed. People riding small boats, working in the fields and plantations, heavy rains etc. should be able to trade anytime anywhere.. i'm just trying to apply in my mind where in the worst possible situations cyptocoins can circulate like money.

yes i see everyone wants a smartphone but there are still people who cannot own one, even a 11$ made in china cellphone (not a smartphone) is hard for them to acquire.

maybe there are workarounds on this because that is an old problem facing new technology, there are still uncharted territories and we are still exploring..

2.) putting physical coins in common people's pockets..and the coins denominations. simple minded common people don't want operating systems (windows, linux, android or IOS) to transfer their money, they only need their hands.

Sorry physical coins can't be secure.

The solution is to make cryptocoins as easy as opening Facebook.

if that's the case i think cyptocoins and banks would co exist (not exactly like the banks today).. there will be mini/community banks or merchants who are trusted to exchange cryptocoins to notes, tokens, etc. I think physical money would never be outdated specially for micropayments. By then majority of bigger transactions would not involve banks anymore.

nice links..i have WRT54G too bad it is version 8 (not supported) I'd love to see this HSMM-MESH on a router  Cheesy

running HAMs on router is low electricity and that's good but that just make us scavengers of old routers and they are scarce.

aside from networking i see two other major crypto currency hurdles for rural areas.

1.) cheap way to harness energy for electricity, these network devices should only need little energy from solar, wind or water steam to be online and transmitting signals.

2.) putting physical coins in common people's pockets..and the coins denominations. simple minded common people don't want operating systems (windows, linux, android or IOS) to transfer their money, they only need their hands.
2990  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Totalitarianism on: August 24, 2015, 03:27:49 AM

arielbit, thanks for this. I'm still looking into the pros and cons of shortwave for this application - plenty to learn! For instance, do you know how/if the "Rural Mesh Network" above could be adapted to be independent from the internet?

yes the "Rural Mesh Network" can be independent from the internet..it is like a separate internet from "the internet" but being disconnected from the internet will prevent you from accessing servers from a different location (e.g. google.com)

the application from this as stated in the paper is voice over IP, electronic mail etc.. imagine rural areas without telecom landlines or cellphone signal, or simply being able to communicate without using services and paying telecom companies, all this using only open source software.

since the network is maintained by the community..the question is the cost? is it cheaper this way?

http://wirelessafrica.meraka.org.za/wiki/index.php/DIY_Mesh_Guide_Download

using dd-wrt, an open source hack to cheap routers gives some advanced routing features needed for networking. even Linux pc's can be used as routers. https://www.pfsense.org/

i think we should still interconnect any network (e.g. rural wireless mesh, shortwave/HAM radio) to the internet because internet is already inside peoples homes, in their pc's and gadgets..this will greatly increase adoption of crypto currency. These networks should function as backup network or an alternative route for transactions..just like being able to get your money from an ATM in Bank A and an ATM in Bank B even though your money is deposited in Bank C (their ATM networks are interconnected)

One of the arguments for being able to withstand the government's documented moves towards controlling Bitcoin[1], is that mining can move to any jurisdiction and any means of internet connection, even low bandwidth shortwave or HAM radio.

2991  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Totalitarianism on: August 20, 2015, 01:46:30 AM

Living in a rural location myself, I've been wondering too at what options there might be. I'm pretty new to this and have been trying to work out what kit would be needed. Any layman-friendly advice from out there would be appreciated ;-)

I came across this a while back:

"Building a Rural Wireless Mesh Network":

PDF here:

http://wirelessafrica.meraka.org.za/wiki/index.php/DIY_Mesh_Guide_Download

had a quick look...it was tcp-ip based and uses wifi..

wifi are short range and can be converted to long range using dish antenna. but short wave radios are more low tech, far reaching, maybe cheaper, and made from discrete circuits making them repairable(components are easily available) and hardy.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discrete_circuit

and the designs could be..

- shortwave radios being interconnected to internet (tcp-ip)
or
-shortwave radios having a network of their own (independent from the internet)
2992  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Totalitarianism on: August 19, 2015, 12:53:29 AM
is this HAM/shortwave radio interconnected to the internet? and these shortwave radios can have a reliable interconnected network in rural areas, easy and cheap to maintain(sustainable)? what are the device/s people in rural areas need to carry this crypto currency?

rural areas and coastal areas is where majority of food came from..any new design should be rural area friendly.

is this the dawn of new network devices? just like what the routers did for the internet..crypto currencies will have its own network devices..WOW

This was just an idea, the battle should be taken to the streets. Micro payments where the everyday food  is purchased, getting crypto unpegged from the internet plus anon tech is the way.

Is it possible?

Cross post:

It is time where we unpeg bitcoin/crypto currencies from the internet for micro payments, for purchasing like bread, meat etc.

A device, with red light, blue light and green light

Red light(unpegged) - for soda,bread, meat etc..the store BTC device confirms ( 1 confirmation)

Blue light(unpegged) - the store device is connected to other store device but not connected to the internet ( more confirmations)

Green light (connected to internet) - for big purchases like buying a car, equipments etc.

Physical coins can be verified too through a scanning mechanism like barcode scanner

Unpegged devices from time to time shoud be updated through the internet so it can recognize newly mined coins

There  should be a blockchain hash verification system (just like torrents) for a certain update date.

Aside from poloniex, dash is almost at the top in hitbtc's to add and also climbing ccex votes..btc market is not far ahead for dash

Why no btc market yet? Is poloniex gonna add it? The purpose of supply reduction was to have a btc market.
