2981  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10-21] Paypal to allow Bitcoin buying and selling on: November 12, 2020, 04:01:23 AM
@bryant.coleman. Your coins in Paypal are paypalcoins and nothing else. I would also go far to argue that this is a scam from Paypal that they have adopted crypto. The only thing they brought is cryptocoin gambling for their users.

I would rather compare it with Tether. In Tether also, you are only having a token (which is supposedly backed up with real USD). PayPal BTC is also similar. Someone else is holding the coins, and it's like they have issued a token to you promising that this token represents the net worth of those coins. For people who are OK with this, PayPal is a good option.
2982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees high on: November 12, 2020, 03:51:24 AM
The Mempool size has fallen, but the users continue to pay high fees. The average fee right now is 300-400 Satoshis per Byte, which roughly translates to $5 to $10 per transaction. There is no need to pay this much fees, as the Mempool size has fallen to less than 1 MB. Just check some of the latest blocks, and most of them are not even using the maximum size limit.

If the captain is not successful then the experiment should be done by giving the responsibility of captain to someone new. There are many old players in the Pakistan's squad. Many are very experienced. If Sarfraz is not successful in captaincy, then another experienced player should be given the responsibility of captain. Since they have alternative options. So they should be tested to see which player is perfect for the post of captain.

It is not as easy as you say. First of all, the captain should be someone who has a permanent slot in the playing XI. Right now, there are only 5-6 such players. What is the point in making someone a captain and sustaining him in the playing XI even if he is not playing well? Babar Azam never complained about the added responsibility. Let's see how it goes.

IIRC Kodiak Island was boat only three or four times a week.
Many other areas would be very slow by our standards, in seasons when small aircraft cannot fly.

Hmm.. interesting.

BTW, Biden's lead continues to decline in Arizona. But the big question is whether there are enough votes remaining, so that Trump can flip the lead. According to the latest update from the authorities, only 24,738 votes remain to be counted (including 18,514 provisional ballots). Right now Trump is trailing by around 11,635 votes and his chances are not looking very bright.
2985  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-10-21] Paypal to allow Bitcoin buying and selling on: November 11, 2020, 07:02:06 AM
@Harlot. However, can it really be considered mass adoption for bitcoin even if the users of Paypal are never touching bitcoins?

I disagree with you here. It doesn't matter whether the PayPal users are in control of the private keys or not. If someone thinks that he is holding cryptocurrency in his PayPal wallet, I would assume that it gives a boost to the acceptability of Bitcoin. Obviously many of these PayPal users, in due time will be setting up desktop wallets or online wallets to store Bitcoins on their own.

One week has passed since the elections, and we don't know who won states such as Arizona, Georgia and Alaska. I am really surprised with the delay from Alaska. They have just processed around 65% of the vote. Why the counting is getting so much delayed there? Are they transporting the ballots in dog sleds and carts pulled by polar bears?

BTW, Biden's lead in Arizona has been reduced to 12,813 votes (remember that this was one of the states called very early by Fox News). Approximately 45,819 ballots remain to be counted (including 27,602 provisional ballots).

2987  Economy / Economics / Re: Waiters/Waitresses/bellboys etc just lost their jobs on: November 11, 2020, 06:39:05 AM
People need to understand that in the modern world, it is very difficult to stick to one sector for 20 or 30 years. If there is a requirement to switch jobs, then you should be open to it. I understand that a lot of restaurant waiters, airlines cabin crew.etc have lost their jobs. So what is the solution here? Should they remain jobless, waiting for the economy to recover, or should they try to get a placement with some other sector?
2988  Economy / Economics / Re: Is COVID-19 an excuse for governments & central banks to print money? on: November 11, 2020, 06:26:38 AM
Whether there is any truth in these conspiracy theories or not is another thing. But the truth is that Trump lost his re-election solely due to this pandemic. Look at the margins. Even after so many deaths as a result of COVID 19, he received more than 70 million votes and lost the crucial swing states such as Arizona, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania by less than 1% of the votes.
And there is also some suggestions that there was manipulation and if there is any truth in those news than actually the 1% can go in either way and might flip the whole election result.

Trump was not the best leader they have but he was competent and while strict and sometimes funny like he said "Chinese virus" which was mocked later on and trolled but his actions were always good. There are people who play the role of a villain which Trump was playing but their actions and decision making is impeccable. Just because he is a big mouth doesn't mean he was incompetent.

The media was constantly attacking him. A recent study found that more than 92% of the coverage related to Trump in network news channels was "negative". But it can't be denied that the economy grew by leaps and bounds during this term. The economic growth can be attributed to Trump's decision to reduce the taxes (something which Joe Biden has promised to reverse, once he takes charge).
2989  Economy / Economics / Re: Not enough Corona Virus Vaccine until 2024, at earliest on: November 11, 2020, 06:10:20 AM
Here in India, the government is already taking the necessary steps to vaccinate its citizens who are above 60 years of age. On top of that the high-priority groups such as medical professionals and students may get the priority. In total, 300 million people are expected to get vaccinated in the next 4-5 months. At this pace, by the end of next year almost everyone here will be vaccinated against COVID 19.
Are you kidding me, India have a billion population and even if anyone develop a vaccine do you have any idea how long it will take to reach a billion vaccine being produced for commercial use. You need to rethink about your stats about vaccinating everyone because it is practically impossible within a year let alone in the next 5 years.
To be frank it looks like a political statement rather than facts because it is impossible.

I would assume that it is going to take 6 to 12 months, and not 5 years as you claimed. India is one of the largest manufacturers of generic drugs and with the advancement in pharmaceutical technology, the time required for mass production of vaccines has been reduced. India previously had mass vaccination programs for diseases such as Polio and they were very successful.

From the first ball till the end of the match MI was in control, I had never anticipated such a bad performance by DC they were playing as if they knew they were no match for MI. Zero effort and the urge to defeat MI was displayed by DC yesterday. Except for Shreyas Iyer and Rishab Panth, none of the other batsmen were able to face MI ballers. I guess they forgot they were playing the finals.

Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant were able to score half-centuries only because they were facing the MI spinners. Bumrah and Boult had finished their first spell, when these two came to bat. So they were mostly facing Krunal Pandya and the inexperienced Jayant Yadav. Overall, it was a very disappointing innings from DC. They had to get to a total of 180, and they fell short by a long distance.

Here in my country also, gambling is illegal but there are a lot of gamblers that are really hard headed. They don't care about the law and they don't care if they will be put inside the jail if ever they caught by the authorities. But those Elitists who's managing the gambling games are anonymous in order for them to be safe from the authorities. They are hiring low profile people to work for them and recruit gamblers to play.

Even in countries where gambling is illegal, those who indulge in online gambling are seldom booked. Even if the cops book them, at the most the punishment will be limited to financial penalties. I haven't heard about anyone getting a jail term, because he has taken part in an online gambling game. And then the gambling site owners.. they are always beyond the reach of the law..

May be your statement is much better and correct but now I am feeling without Virat Kohli Indian team is going to struggle very badly because in current squad no one is able to handle this all right now so its most chances this test series is going to be in Australina favour.

With or without Virat, India is going to struggle in Australia. Last time it was an exception, because the Indian players (especially Pujara) was in such terrific form and Australia was missing two of their best players. But it is not all doom and gloom for the Indians. Their recent form has been terrific and the pace bowlers have been in top form. If their batsmen also live up to the occasion, then we may see a repeat of 2017.
2993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers forced into unpaid leave on: November 11, 2020, 04:55:15 AM
We should not treat business, companies that are trying to survive, as a villain because they are also suffering from this pandemic, they can lose their business if this pandemic last for another year, they should do agreement business owners and the workers both suffer, they should talk and come out with a win-win situation.

It is tough for everyone because none of us thought that the pandemic is going to last for so long. Back in March/April, we were hoping that it would get contained within 2-3 months. Now it looks as if this situation will continue well in to 2021. Casino workers are disproportionately affected, because they need to closely interact with the casino visitors.
2994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 11, 2020, 04:39:50 AM
I was expecting a much tougher competition from DC in the finals but the MI bowlers were outstanding in picking up with the wickets and even though they were able to put on a partnership they were not able to accelerate the innings in the last five overs like they wanted and with a strong batting line up like MI it was not enough to put the pressure and DC failed to pick the wickets from the start and Rohit Sharma performed in the final after some disappointing efforts in the past few games.

In the end, it was a very comfortable victory for Mumbai Indians. Anyway, most of us were expecting this. DC players were out of form, and after their top order collapse (they were 22/3 at one point), no one really expected them to put up any fight. Also, DC managed to score only 38 runs from the last 5 overs. Had they scored 20-25 runs more, then they would have had a chance.
2995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we all fools on believing the word "HOLD"? on: November 10, 2020, 06:13:20 AM
Be careful with those individuals who advice you to hold your coins. They may be having intentions which are not compatible with your well-being. I am someone who prefer long-term holding for Bitcoin, and some of the established alts. But from my experience, I would say that there is no point in holding lesser known altcoins for many years, because there is only 0.1% chance that they may survive for long.
2996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any idea when the Bitcoin Mempool will stop being so congested? on: November 10, 2020, 06:02:25 AM
Good news for Bitcoin users. Mempool is almost empty now. A few minutes back, the size was less than 1 MB. Compare this to what we had four days back, when the Mempool size was more than 80 MB. I just checked Earn.com, but they are still showing 330 Sat/Byte as the median fee (I guess they haven't updated the stats in a while). The last Block (#656261, mined by Poolin) was half-empty as there were not enough unconfirmed transactions to be included.
2997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal customers will be able to use BTC, ETH and other cryptos to pay merchants on: November 10, 2020, 05:51:13 AM
From what I have heard about this news, it looks good for the cryptocurrency users. The user may be making the payment in BTC or ETH, but PayPal will be making the payment on their behalf in fiat currency. That means that they don't need to pay $10 or $15 as fee for a single transaction. Anyway, details are not revealed yet and we may need to wait for a few more months until PayPal makes cryptocurrency available for all of their users.
2998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the new US administration be friendly to bitcoin? on: November 10, 2020, 05:41:50 AM
Establishment politicians will always be opposed to the idea of a decentralized cryptocurrency. Party allegiance to either the Republican or Democrat parties doesn't make much difference here. Pro-cryptocurrency leaning can be expected only from Libertarian wing of the GOP, which comprises of people such as Rand Paul. I expected Trump to be more pro-Bitcoin (since he is not part of the establishment), but he disappointed me.
2999  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Elections 2020 - very self such moderated on: November 10, 2020, 05:25:47 AM
Just checked Realclearpolitics, and they still have Biden at 259.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/elections/live_results/2020/president/

They haven't yet called the outcome in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Alaska. However, DecisionHQ has Biden at 279, with tossups at AZ, NC, GA and AK. Also, two of the senate races (North Carolina and Alaska) are also not called yet. Really shameful... the fact remains that United States presidential election results are not known even one week after the election day.. Some of the developed nations are much better than this..

Covid was intentionally released to frame china, steal the election from trump, assure massive bail outs and foster the forced vaccination agendas
Is there anything for us to read about any of this claims? Any credible source for this one?

Why some people always come with this conclusion without anything on their hand to prove with, or at least the word "opinion" to start their sentence?
From that claim, that covid was intentionally released to frame China seems so vague in a long of angles. You could have researched more about this one.

Whether there is any truth in these conspiracy theories or not is another thing. But the truth is that Trump lost his re-election solely due to this pandemic. Look at the margins.
