Looks easy peasy for Lucknow but would be epic fun if they mess up from here lmao

Overall, in this season CSK looks like a weak outfit or at least performs below par when playing away from home. Their best hope is to make into finals and rely on some luck after all, the final is scheduled in their backyard.

They made it in the end without much effort. I don't know why CSK captain kept Matheesha Pathirana on hold for so long. He could have been brought earlier. The first wicket partnership between Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul added 134 runs, and by then the match was over. It was important to bring in the strike bowlers before it was too late.

This section is going to be silent for a while. For the next 3-4 moths, most of the teams will be busy preparing for the T20 world cup. Next test series is scheduled to begin by 10th July, when England will host West Indies for a 3-match series. We can expect some quite one-sided matches, as the English pace battery of James Anderson, Mark Wood, Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes and Ollie Robinson will be up against the out of form West Indian batsmen.

NATURAL GAS (HENRY HUB) Price
$1.58/per million British thermal unit
You do the math!

Not an apple to apple comparison.

If you want to compare Henry Hub price, then you should compare it against wellhead price in Siberia, and not against the price at the Greifswald entry point. This is because transportation and liquefaction makes up the majority of the cost for natural gas. Gas that costs $1.58 per MMBTU at Henry Hub may cost many times as much once it lands in Europe. And as far as I know, liquefied gas can never be as cheap as piped gas.

In the 3rd Test match of India vs England, England team came to the field to play the 2nd Innings today. They scored 72 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 29.4 overs. Ravindra Jadeja of India team took 3 wickets with 11 runs in 10 overs. Kuldeep Yadav 11 runs in 5.1 overs.  took 2 wickets with .England team still need 483 runs to win this match.
India won the 3rd test match by huge margin of 434 runs. The Player of the Match of this third match by Ravindra Jadeja from India for his all round batting and bowling performance in batting first they scored amazing hundred by scored 112 runs in second inning of match. Ravindra Jadeja bowling well scored 2 wickets in first inning of match and in second inning of match by picking 5 wickets by giving 41 runs and win match for his team.

It is once again proven that there is no competition at least in the test format for India. Australia is the only team that can trouble them, at least occasionally. However, I am not sure whether they will be able to perform at the same level once the golden generation retires (Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin.etc). The younger players like Iyer and Gill doesn't have the same consistency.

England need 322 runs in this innings and have lost one player so far.  If they manage to form a perfect partnership this run target can be easily achieved. At this time, it is important for England to build a solid and strong partnership among their players, so that they can easily reach the target.  This position can be difficult for them but a good partnership can make it easier for them.  Somerset and teamwork are important now and if these two factors come together England  target is possible.  In this era, it is most important that every player has a sense of responsibility and helps each other.India  scoreboard is good but India did not perform well in this innings especially Jaiswal he shockout of India team he made 209 run in Frist inning but second inning he made only 17 run .

Quite decent performance by England so far in this series. They won the first test match in amazing manner, and now they have performed well in the second test as well. Some of the newcomers, such as Tom Hartley have performed beyond what was expected from them. James Anderson now has 695 test wickets and he also bowled well in this match. All that said, it will be difficult for England to score another 322 runs.

India is back to old times, when Virat was the only batsmen who could score runs under SENA conditions. So far in this tour, the performance of top order batsmen such as Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill have been pathetic. Rohit has been a failure, both as a player and as a captain. When India was bowling, he sticked with Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna. These three conceded a combined 285 runs and took 4 wickets. On the other hand, he under-utilized Ravichandran Ashwin, who bowled just 19 overs.

Japan is already all out for 99. Right now the innings break is going on. I am pretty sure that Bangladesh is going to be able to score this pretty easily. The target is definitely not big for Bangladesh under 19. I believe Bangladesh is going to be able to score this in no time. I will also not be surprised if Bangladesh somehow is able to win without closing a single wicket.

But just because of this performance, I would not say that Japan does not have any chance in cricket. They will just have to improve and be determined to improve quickly.

Not really surprised because Japan is not one of the strongest teams from this region. Bangladesh are now 71/0 after 7.4 and looks like they will win within the first 10 overs. Even then, Japan should be proud of the fact that they managed to qualify ahead of strong teams such as Singapore, Malaysia, Oman, Hong Kong and Kuwait, by finishing within the top-3 of 2023 ACC Men's Under-19 Premier Cup.

Big congratulations to West Indies. I really admire their fighting spirit! The skipper, Hope, played an excellent knock and showed great leadership to take West Indies in a tricky chase. I'm genuinely hoping West Indies goes on a bit of a revenge mission for the non-ODI World Cup qualification embarrassment.
Unfortunately, England's performance at the World Cup was disastrous. Looks like heir bad days not finish yet. Their bowlers were expensive against WI batters, and it's a rough patch for them. It can happen to any team, but it's expected for England to step up their game in ODIs.

Nothing is going to take away the fact that West Indies is a team on the decline. A few months back, during the World Cup qualifiers they lost to Zimbabwe and Netherlands in the group phase and then went on to lose to Scotland in Super6. Defeating a second string England side, who themselves are not doing very good recently is not going to matter much.

Win Probability in ESPN-Cricinfo shows AUS at 94.68% and IND at 5.32%. Australia needs another 71 runs. By now, it looks as if Australia will lift their 6th ODI Cricket World Cup trophy today. The partnership between Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne really rescued the Australians after they were reduced to 47/3. At this point, India floundered the opportunity to take a couple of quick wickets and thereby get the match under their control. Anyway, it is time for introspection for India and they should do that before the T20I world cup in 2024.

Anyone with a half-decent brain knows that this pitch is really tough to bat on which is why the game is evenly balanced at the moment. Head is the key wicket currently. If he keeps playing for a long time, Australia will most probably win.

However, if he falls soon, India will have the upper hand since the pitch will most probably keep getting slower and slower. Exciting final!

You are right. The difference between Indian and Australian players is that the Aussie players did their homework, while the Indians took everything for granted. While batting, the Indians were trying to smash each and every ball for a boundary. That sort of strategy was not suitable in this track, and that too against the quality Australian bowlers. On the other hand, Labuschagne is batting very patiently, and providing good support for Travis Head. KL Rahul tried the same approach while India was batting, but then he ran out of partners.

Despite the fightack from Mitchell, today's match was very much one-sided. Once India won the toss, the outcome of the match was never in question. And throughout the match, India dominated the hapless New Zealanders. Tomorrow's match will be hopefully more competitive. South Africa for sure has some unfinished business with Australia. They are not going to forget the semi-final match from 1999 ODI World Cup anytime soon.

LOL.. looks like the Dutch are going to get their second win today. And it is remarkable because they had a morale breaking defeat in the previous match against Australia. The Dutch management took some strong decisions after their massive defeat, and they dropped two of the players in poor form - Teja Nidamannuru and Roeloef van der Merwe. Shariz and Myburgh came in, and although they didn't contributed much the team is going to win today.

BTW, another wicket to Bas de Leede. Last hope of Bangladesh, Mahmudullah Riyad is out, and they are at 113/8.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 26, 2023, 02:12:32 PM
I did not expect England to bat so badly in today's match. England's batting could not do well, unfortunately none of the batting half-centuries. England were all out for 156 in 33.2 overs. England scored 156 which was not enough of a target for the ODI format. Sri Lanka went into bat with a target of 157 runs and won by 8 wickets by a huge margin in 25.4 overs. Sri Lanka were under pressure early on with 2 wickets down, Sadeera Samarawickrama and Pathum Nissanka both performed brilliantly to secure the win. Sri Lanka has won 2 out of 5 matches and has become number 5 in the table. Congratulations to the Sri Lankan team for the win.

Their main players are either injured or out of form. Jofra Archer hasn't yet recovered from injury. Ben Stokes, Sam Curran and Mark Wood are out of form. And they don't have quality players to replace these ones. Anyway, world cup is almost over for England. Now it is time for introspection. The next major ICC tournament is going to be the T20 World Cup of 2024, and they need to prepare well for it.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 ACTUAL DISCUSSION THREAD! on: October 15, 2023, 03:12:55 PM
I don't see any chance of England winning unless a miracle happens. Chances of defeat by a large margin are high. England lost their sixth wicket for 138 runs. Apart from Harry Brook, there are no experienced batsmen at the crease. Harry Brook's collection is now 52 runs. England team has to fight hard against Afghanistan bowlers. The pitch is spin bowling friendly. Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan are bowling well in the Afghanistan squad. Rashid took 1 wicket with 23 runs in 7 overs and Nabi took two wickets with 15 runs in 5 overs. The match is now completely under Afghanistan's control. It is very difficult for England to score 143 runs in 21 overs. As they have already lost 6 batsmen. England must collect about 7 runs per over.

I am still not 100% sure. Afghanistan has a reputation of losing matches which they should have won otherwise. Brook is trying to build a partnership with Woakes. If these two can stay there for another 10 overs or so, then we will see Afghan bowlers making mistakes by themselves. That said, so far the Afghan spinners have been exceptional. Nabi is having figures of 6-0-16-2, while Rashid has returned 7-1-23-1. The two seamers (Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen-ul-Haq) have backed them up as much as they could.

No doubt United State have good financial and easily for building best stadium, they have publish best stadium use for World Cup matches and more fantastic than stadium in last World Cup edition in Qatar.

Some of their stadiums are originally intended to be used for NFL and MLB matches. They are converting these stadiums so that they can be used for Association football. For example, the MetLife Stadium in New York is home to NFL franchises such as New York Jets and New York Giants. Similarly, the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood is home to Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams. All of the 11 venues within the United States are originally NFL stadiums.

@Sithara007 cricket is inbuilt as an religion in every Indian be it a kid or an adult and that’s why Cricket will always have an ready made audience which is always growing in numbers. Furthermore when IPL was made longer I thought that this was it the end of IPL was near but surprisingly many people actually watched all matches and enjoyed it too and that’s when it stuck me no matter what BCCI does people won’t stop watching Cricket and it’s popularity won’t ever die.

In India, cricket is far ahead of all the other sports in terms of popularity. There are franchise leagues in other sports as well, such as the Indian Super League (football), Premier Badminton League, UBA Pro Basketball League, Premier Handball League, Hockey India League, Pro Kabaddi League and Prime Volleyball League. But none of these leagues have managed to attract Indian audience in sizable numbers. Therefore the advertisers and TV broadcasters prefer the IPL, and the second preference is being given to the state-level leagues, such as Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) and Maharaja Trophy T20.

If you count in USD then it does look bad but it looks alright when looking at INR (Bidding was in INR). BCCI knew that there won't be any bidding war due to various reasons and that's why they only wanted a base price to cover, in which they succeded.

Overall it's good for consumers as JIO now has IPL +WPL + All India homes matches + Domestic tournaments for 5 years. At least we don't have to take multiple subscriptions.

For ACC and ICC tournaments, you still need to subscribe to Hotstar. And in case you want to watch some of the quality test series such as the Ashes, then you need a subscription for Sony LIV. Anyway, people like me watch multiple sports, and not just cricket. Asian Games, Olympics.etc are also important and at least some of the Indian audiences may therefore go for other OTT platforms. And it needs to be seen how this monopoly can impact pricing. For how long JioTV will stream matches for free? At some point, they are going to stop free streaming.

Disappointing news for the BCCI. Viacom18 won the auction for BCCI media rights (all of the international and domestic matches hosted by BCCI in India). They will be paying a total of ₹5963 crore for the 2023-27 cycle, while last time Disney Star had paid a total of ₹6138 crore. In USD terms, the difference is much higher ($720 million vs $944 million).

One sided match between Oman and Netherlands at the Harare Sports Club. Bas de Leede just got out after making 39 from 19 balls, but the Dutch are well on their way to a score of 350 plus. They would have easily qualified for the World Cup, if they had not wasted that golden opportunity during the match against Sri Lanka. Oman players simply can't match the quality of the Dutch players. Last 10 overs have seen the Dutch batsmen scoring at above 12 runs per over. BTW, I am surprised that Logan van Beek has been pushed down the order. He should have been sent ahead of Saqib Zulfiqar.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: July 01, 2023, 12:20:05 PM
Now it's almost confirmed that West Indies will not qualify for the ODI World Cup this year. Scotland needs just 89 more runs, with 9 wickets in hand. And if by some miracle Scotland can win their remaining two matches (against Zimbabwe and Netherlands), then they will be able to qualify to the World Cup. At this point, it looks like Sri Lanka will qualify with ease. And this is going to be the first time that West Indies could not qualify for the ODI World Cup. They were the champions in 1975 and 1979, and played all the editions to date.
