But of course, they chose an interesting time for this mini revolution ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) They definitely did. I wouldn't even have realised it was happening if not for ESPN headlines feed I get, but the same item of news didn't reach any of my other regular media channels. Yeah, according to Sky Italia director, Juve situation could be as bad as in 2006 and that time they were relegated. Something huge is definitely cooking there and it will blow up sooner than later. Now when the ball got rolling, everybody will start poking at Juve pinata and all kinds of shit will fall out ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) No Italy in World Cup so investigative journalists have plenty of time to tear them apart. I have a close friend who was really down in that period (and it was also the nadir for AC Milan and Liverpool who were enjoying success for the last few years before just dropping). I feel like it could be the start of another down cycle for some "big teams" but I would never have expected it to be Juventus again so soon. And yeah, no one in Italy will be too consumed by WC, can definitely foresee Old Lady scandal mesmerising the public for another month.

^ Cool half mill... and others as big I saw posted on ClubTalk just in the first half. Elsewhere I can see P2P England markets have 10x the liquidity of other matches... but not even close to matching these big boys on SB! He'll be pleased England now 2-0 (what's his cashout looking like now?) but Southgate better show some risk affinity after this. Barely knocking on Welsh door, a freekick wonder goal opened the gates. They need another big win to build confidence for the coming stage, which is going to be a lot less kind than Iran, Wales, USA. Using ambiguous terms, they wrote that by earning 10,000 points you will receive a VIP, and also receive a cash prize according to your seat.
The terms were pretty clear to me -- on the promo page, Terms and Conditions #11. In order to receive an invitation to VIP Clubhouse, and be eligible for the cash prizes, a customer must fulfill two conditions: 1. Be in the top 10 winners. 2. Collect at least 10,000 points. SB guys tend to be really cool nevertheless, I heard the right attitude helps...

Oh well. Only consolation is my outright on Brazil still alive. If they go on to win it, I should have over $500 usdt to resume the slow burn.
So you took Brazil for the outright huh, I thought you would have gone for the least favourites teams like Spain or Germany to keep it intense lol. Hope you win something good from free chips though to get some balance back for betting. I threw mine away on BJ table last night, ended up with a tie which obviously is a lost because its a free chips Only for the outright promo (which required $100) as it made sense to take the team most likely to end up with the most wins. I did take Argentina for a smaller amount at 9/1 but it won't win me as much as Brazil outright actually -- although best outcome is Brazil Argentina final so that I get freechips and then winnings but then they have to meet in the semifinal if they progress anyway, so moneywise, need Brazil to go on and win, even if my heart is Argentina. That's the only way I actually end this tournament with a breakeven or slight profit on my starting usdt bankroll. Argentina win still puts me below. That's, of course, ignoring the btc bankroll I already almost am at zero across all my books, despite taking all the promos heh heh. Strange how international football doesn't entice me so much until it comes to World Cup.

really hope that WC will not bring Napoli down, they deserved title for show-ups in last few seasons, but did not get any, this should be their season, and without WC almost certainly, but now they can fall off with form afterwards
Seems like WC brought Juventus down, in a way, even without Italy participating haha. Just read that the entire board has resigned along with the president, bye bye Nedved VP too. This time, government investigation into financial fraud and hidden payments to players. Investigation itself is not new, but this move suggests something surfaced. Don't know what to say or comment as too early really... but a mass resignation of key decision-makers implies we're going to see something bad happen to them next season. They didn't take long to rebuild after the last time they got relegated and stripped of honours (that was a different scandal but same roots of evil in football)

It looks like African teams are getting motivated in the second round, we barely counted goals for African nations in the first round until Ghana got two goals and now we are even getting 2 to 3 goals in one game which is really surprising. I'm so proud of Ghana today for winning Against South Korea and scoring 3 goals in the game is an outstanding performance for the team.
Hey, I was one of the few actually backing teams other than Senegal (and with money backing my backing too, haha) -- so I do feel vindicated, especially with Ghana whose Ayews and Inaki all contributing so far and, by the way, scoring 5 goals already, more than most teams in the tournament. Morocco playing among the best football in their group, even Cameroon overperforming, it's not a bad showing from the continent at all. Agree with LFC_Bitcoin too, Senegal we shouldn't be surprised to make it into the next stage with an Ecuador win and I'll be so happy if they go through at the expense of Netherlands honestly, but worthy mentions? Morocco deserves it the most, and Ghana too. Still, football is round...

Oops, only saw this thread after posting the special I took up on ANN. Actually need to look at these specials more, I usually ignore them these days as I'm looking for 5/1 and more but the VAR ruling out goals is almost happening in every game, Brazil especially, I would have jumped on that! My grand USDT chase is over, by the way, blew it all in an idiot streak trying to chase previous losses and Group Stage isn't even done haha. Oh well. Only consolation is my outright on Brazil still alive. If they go on to win it, I should have over $500 usdt to resume the slow burn.

Slissy: stamping your mark on the pool, well done. I'm not having a good group stage in the pool so I've gone for some drastic results to see if I can catch up. I feel that Brazil performed really well today. They controlled the game from start to finish and have created a lot of dangerous opportunities.
They could have scored a few more goals and have once again confirmed their role as the main favorites in the tournament.
If I didn't have money riding on it, I'd definitely have enjoyed the game much more, the disallowed goal from Vinicius was really a product of the team playing a style and philosophy they're comfortable with. I know Messi had a great game also but this Brazil team, if they continue like this, far and away the winner-elect. Group A is crazy! As 3 of 4 teams still have chance to qualify but Netherlands is facing Qatar so most likely they will get those 3 points and then the battle remains for 2nd place between Senegal and Ecuador. Personally, I think Ecuador has a better football and they should win.
Enjoy the last world cup with this format, in 2026, there will only be 2 group games per team, so I feel like we'll see a lot of teams winning the first game camping out for a draw, while loser of first will need to win the next game. Could prove to be fun too but also some risk many teams will actually play for certain results in the 2nd game that suit both teams. Uruguay have really surprised me, I thought they’d be much, much better. There is a lot of history in the Ghana vs Uruguay games. Remember the Suarez handball on the line, the penalty was missed & Uruguay won on penalties. I think the Ghanaian squad will be motivated to put that right.
Regardless though, if Uruguay can advance to the round of 16, they won’t be going much further.
Yeah I remember you had money backing Nunez, but hey, you never know in the final game. I think the mistake was starting Suarez, I actually like him a lot but feel like he's dampened the attack a little. I totally forgot about the Ghana handball, that now definitely makes me think this is a betting opportunity for WC's second red card.

Didn't do too badly after all in this round, even if my MD1 scores would have put me above 100 points, but can't complain with Fernandes and Messi, even Mbappe throwing their weight around, finally. Probably just going to stick with more or less the same team, and hope Saka gets a better outing vs Wales.
Clean sheets are a premium, it seems, so leaving Alisson in (though suspect coach might give Ederson an outing now they've qualified).

Hey hey well done ralle14 and Woodie for conquering MD2! In the last quiz i hate one question, and was the one related to the Brasil formation, after i submited the response, the Brasil Federation says Neymar its not gonna play the last two games of the round for being injury, and im like.. "come on...."
I also missed this one because on the day I was submitting my entry no injuries were reported, but the second I hit the submit button no sooner did I see the injury news and surprised that a few of us missed this one ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Submitted mine before I knew anything either, but actually quite happy with my position, think slackovic should win my group easily, I just want to qualify ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Think like in group stage you can afford a shitty day haha, so I'm going for some riskier picks here, hoping mitch doesn't benefit! The last round of the group stage will start in a few hours. I have just sent my answers and hopefully I'll beat buwaytress in the group stage. I know it doesn't mean much, but I would rather beat him than end up at the second place ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) One question... Pairs for the knockout stage will be like they will be at the world cup (C1 will play against D2 and vice versa)? I've just sent mine as well, and it does mean much as you'll meet only the second best player from our other group, OP says we'll follow the exact same format ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

@buwaytress it’s been really unpredictable so far, and you’re displaying the classic gambling signs of chasing losses hope you have set a limit and you won’t go beyond them in order to recover your losses.
=======
I yet can’t believe that Germany is on brink of elimination so early in this tournament.
Problem is my limit was pretty big for the tournament, a lot larger than I usually even set for 3 months of football, and I lost 70% of it in a week. The good news is if I don't come out of today alive, then my budget's gone and I will have a more relaxed tournament probably in the KO stages. Better believe how bad Germany is. They also didn't make it out of group stage last WC, losing to S Korea, remember?

Bitcoin has emerged as a phenomenon but in the end it is just an investment, not the knowledge that everyone needs. If you want to put bitcoin in education so people can learn how to avoid scams, and how to distinguish between coins in our wallets and on exchanges then I would agree with @vv811's idea, they should only be included in supplementary courses, elective courses.
But teaching people about self-custody goes beyond Bitcoin. Teaching people leaving money in online accounts is not the same as having that money under your control. Teaching people how the centralised money systems really work, the way fractional reserves (or in US's case, zero reserves) have fked people up time and again, that's really important financial education.

And another round of Bet-6-6 is up for anyone who wants to make $100,000! Starts with tomorrow's games. At this rate, I went for some underdogs because this tournament is definitely not letting up on weak-ass favourite play. Outright promo freechips have also landed, and I won a nice big nothing from my first all-in on BJ ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I believe the record is 7 in all of world cup history.
Today's just equalled that record then, blame the Serbians for allowing their lead to disappear by trying to increase it. At least it was 6 goals, lucky spectators.

Of course, bitcoin doesn't care about those defi and what is the latest hype, but we do somewhat correlated with the altcoin market.
It's the other way around, actually. If rando altcoins collapse, they don't affect Bitcoin. Rando altcoins collapse all the time, some huge ones too with mid-size market caps. Problem with major shtcoin collapses like Terracoin (what you said in your example) or whatever they're called, is that they interacted with Bitcoin... they had a huge Bitcoin reserve which they tried to use to shore up the peg their stablecoin lost. So it was really when that happened that the market felt the tremors.

Handful of guys went for the Serbia draw (did they just forget to defend or what if cryptofrka says they tried to score more goals after being 3-1), and I avoided betting on it, so saved myself even more heartache... and avoided also S Korea who are now 2 goals down (and 12 of you guys went for Ghana, not bad)... unfortunately could not resist Brazil so have the last of my bankroll riding entirely on them (dumb).
Terrible not being able to watch games and just see scores, but going to try everything to see Brazil but they start at 5pm my time and I'm not usually free until after 7...

Ah, so close, and yet so far. Took the lead, then equalised in 2 minutes, I honestly thought I was going to be celebrating Cameroon.
But see now, support Ghana, and they almost levelled with first 2 African goals of the tournament, then bet on Cameroon and they find a way to score 3 goals.
It's probably over, as they need not only beat Brazil by 2 goals if Switzerland draw, or by maybe more goals if Serbia beat the Swiss. Either way, not counting on it!

Of all the ridiculous things to do, and this new culture of being able to "weaponise" anything. Gender, culture, language, code... makes sense of course, but try hard enough and you could fit Bitcoin into a box of your choosing. Probably fun for a master's dissertation or a tongue-in-cheek journal submission but only if you're the kind of guy that likes arguing for the sake of argument.
Speech probably where I lean. Bitcoin is code at the end of the day, and that does need someone to learn how to interact with it, or read English to learn to use a wallet, seed phrase, even latin script (in my part of the world a lot of people still only can read their local script).

Actually tried doing some things today, but realised most of my team were already locked in so just subbed out Neymar and put in Richarlison, no time for anything else and a bit too unbothered to look into it.
So the boosts, anyone enjoy anything other than 12th man?
More than anything else, just surprised I got as many points as I did without changing anything.

Forget stocks, alts, etc.? Never been farther from Bitcoiners' minds... Fact the only time I really think of anything else other than Bitcoin is when I look back with some regret on shitcoins I changed out for BTC... Never in a rally! Agree fiat credibility keeps making all time lows but when the USD printer is smoking and still the dollar enjoying ATHs against major fiat, gotta accept fiat's death knell probably happening past our lifetimes... Doesn't matter. Bitcoin needs a strong dollar when we get to 100k ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
