In principle you are right, but if you place a bet because you gamble and this is because of an addiction, the story will be different. Someone who places 100k and loses that bet, few lessons can be learned from that. The only lesson you could learn is that you should stop gambling or at least cut back, but this is often an indirect encouragement to bet even more to win back the lost 100k as quickly as possible. But if you play with low limits you can try out some things and learn from your bets. In fact, the whole gambling is a waste because there are few people who can get rich with it.

Barcelona's 2-1 victory over Real Madrid was the final blow in their battle for the championship. Still, I find it anything but convincing what Barcelona has shown in this season. We now have exactly the 6 best teams in Spain in the top 6. After Real Madrid and Barcelona, they are all teams that are not much inferior to each other, although Atletico Madrid is the most appealing name of this group. Sevilla should be among them but has performed so poorly this season that they are not among the 6 best teams in Spain. Cause is still unknown.

In any case, we have an exciting season in this competition, isn't that what every football fan wants in the competition? It would be of little use if Bayern were now 15 points ahead, for example. Then you look at the matches of Bayern Munich with a completely different feeling. Dortmund has the best season of the top in that respect, but Freiburg is also performing well and we certainly did not expect it from this team. Leverkusen will have to put in a really good series to achieve another result in order to qualify for European football. And the conference league is not a tournament you like to participate in, I think. There is a lot of hope for Schalke again as they have managed to reduce the gap to the safe zone quite a bit.

All in all, these are great matches that we will soon see in the quarterfinals of the Champiosn League. Real Madrid are clearly better off than Chelsea, but if you look at the market value of the players that represent Chelsea, Chelsea should be ahead. A few years ago, no one cared for Chelsea, and they just won the Champions League from scratch. And in the final they beat rivals Manchester City, so in theory it could be done. Real Madrid is a strong team, but it is not Bayern Munich or Manchester City. I think Real Madrid have a 60% chance of going through, and if you're in the semi-final anything is possible. Also with unattractive football.

Madness what happened in the match between Kazakhstan and Denmark. Denmark led 0–2 with fifteen minutes left to play. And the impossible happened, Kazakhstan won the game 3-2. Long time since I've seen something like this, and Denmark is a much better team too. I think we do have a case here of the odds for Denmark to win was around 1.01 or maybe even 1.005. So that can also happen. Denmark is not in an extremely strong group, so they still have every chance to qualify. In the last European Championship they were also there, I think, but a 3-2 defeat is not a good start for the qualification. England - Ukraine is almost over and 2-0 is a safe position for England with a few minutes left on the clock.

Bayern Munich also wanted Tuchel a while ago, but then management stopped it. I don't know who exactly was responsible for that, but at least they have him now. Yet Tuchel has already had quite a few top clubs in a few years. Chelsea, PSG and now Bayern. It makes a difference that it is a German, that is very handy for communication, of course. I think it's a coach with little charisma. Bayern is just going to take the title. Dortmund will certainly drop points and maybe it's also a good wake up call for Bayern, maybe the reality is now sinking in that they really don't have to work for the title. They have of course become champions so often and especially so easily in the last 10 years that I can imagine that it is all underestimated and laziness.

Bookmakers bet pretty high on Napoli, only City is slightly above it. That of course has everything to do with the fact that Napoli has a much better draw than City. Because whether you loot AC Milan or Bayern Munich, that is a world of difference. Real Madrid has certainly not been written off by the bookmakers because they have odds of rind de 7.00. That seems a bit on the low side to me because Real Madrid is the team that has won the CL the most in the last 10 years and, moreover, they are also the current cup holder of this competition. We were very lucky last year, but not just luck of course. Chelsea seems pretty hopeless for the final victory.

Atalanta desperately needs the points to be able to mean something at the top. In the current list, Atalanta is 7 points behind the surprising number 2 Lazio. It is remarkable how good Lazio is after the winter break, and other teams have lost many points. And even more striking is that Lazio has already been eliminated in the conference league. It can go strange in the football world, I think Lazio Roma is certainly not the 2nd best team after Napoli, but that doesn't always say everything. For Lazio it has also been a while since they played CL, I'll give it to them. Atalanta will probably have to make do with a place in the EL this season.
309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 25, 2023, 05:18:59 PM
1.01 odds on tennis matches can be dangerous to assume. You see such odds if, for example, a player is 5-1 ahead in a set to win the set, but it is quite possible that he still loses that set. And pre-match it can also be very dangerous. Tennis players such as Djokovic or other top players also run into an unexpected defeat once or twice a year, and that will cost you a lot of money if you have bet on the 1.01. It can be even crazier, there are matches in which you can bet on players with odds of 1,001. I wonder what the point of that is, then you should have a tennis match in which it is 6-0 and 5-1, for example.

The last game I can remember between Manchester City and Bayern Munich was Bayern Munich's home game a long time ago. Bayern Munich quickly led 2-0, but in the end it was 2-3 on the scoreboard. That was in an era when Manchester City was not as good as they are now, then Bayern Munich was clearly better and they won 1-3 in Manchester. By the way, one of Bayern's best games they've ever played. For this edition I think the teams are completely evenly matched. I can't imagine that the bookmakers rate 1 of the 2 teams higher. The fact that Bayern Munich changed trainers this week could also have the necessary impact, but that could also be positive. Tuchel has, of course, beat Manchester City a few times with Chelsea.

It seems to me today also worth placing a bet on the match Spain - Norway with odds of 1.40. And I think these odds are still so high for Spain because Norway has Haaland. But in international matches he finds the net less often, the supply is of course also much less than you play with teams like Macnhester City. Norway has a few good players but is far too short in width to make it really difficult for Spain. I expect an easy win from Croatia against Wales today.

Barcelona has made a big gap with Real Madrid, but they probably lost Frenkie de Jong for a longer time due to his injury. It is also not normal when you see how much he runs in a game. In the very last minute of the match against Real Madrid, he was injured. I don't think it has much influence in the fight for the championship, Barcelona have even more good midfielders and are already 12 points ahead. But annoying for De Jong, who is normally never injured and actually always plays everything in the competition.

It's bizarre that the trainer Nagelsmann has been fired. But it certainly won't be about the results. They can still become champions of Germany, trailing Dortmund by only 1 point. And in the CL they played good matches and won no less than 2 x against PSG. I think internally some things have been going on and things have stopped working between him and the players. Taking a new coach at this stage of the competition.. you can say or write anything about it but only practice will tell if it was the right decision. If Bayern does not become champion, more measures may be taken in the staff.

What a punishment from France to the Netherlands. At half time it is already 3-0 and that score was already reached after 25 minutes. That's not going to be exciting anymore. Furthermore, Belgium is ahead of Sweden, which is no surprise to me. But these games don't matter all that much, since both the numbers 1 and 2 both go to the European Championship next year. The European Championship may start sooner than we think, about 15 more months, they will also be over soon. England's victory yesterday was a fine result and Kane England's all-time top scorer, great job by Kane.

Bayern Munich must still be careful. Dortmund is now at the top of the league for a reason. The question is whether Bayern will make up for this. 1 point difference is of course nothing, I'm not worried about that. What is worrying is the form in which Bayern Munich is currently in. in the CL it's all going smoothly, but in the league they seem to play less well. It may also be that they see too little challenge in this competition. A few good players need to show more and lead the team in the field. That doesn't happen or at least too little.
316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 22, 2023, 07:18:58 PM
I think the battle for the championship is over. Barcelona a cartload ahead with no less than 12 points ahead. Still, I don't feel that Barcelona has been very dominant this season. They have only been very consistent and have also won many games 1-0 or 2-1. The match against Real Madrid was another good example of this. Anyway, won is won and it is better to win 10x with 1-0 than win 8x with 7-0 and than lose 2x. It's nice that they have become national champions again, after all, it was a while ago.

Will we see both Ronaldo and Messi at the World Cup? There is a good chance that Messi will be there at the World Cup. He wants to continue as long as possible and is, after all, also a few years younger than Ronaldo. I have confidence in that. Ronaldo makes enough playing minutes every week in Saudi Arabia, but the level of course leaves much to be desired. Playing alone is not enough, it must also be at an acceptable level. Belgium in particular seems to be the big loser of recent years. Perhaps the best Belgian team ever, but no title won and probably won't come in the coming years. Germany also has a few things to put right after the deception at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. But they will aim the next arrows at the European Championship 2024, which they can organize themselves.

Getting used to the fact that there are no league matches this week and no European matches either. International matches have never really interested me, especially for qualifying matches, then there is little tension. The differences in these matches are usually huge. There are a few nice matches in between, but the numbers 1 and 2 of all groups continue, so you have to do your best as a top country not to qualify your own. France - Holland might be an interesting game to observe.
319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: March 21, 2023, 07:25:04 PM
The level of these competitions is still considerable. For many, Arsenal was the favourite, but they are out. Often the favorite does not win in this tournament, we have been able to conclude that quite easily in recent years. I also didn't see what odds were present last season for Frankfurt to win, but I think something like 1 in 60 to win? The match between Leverkusen and Union from Belgium seems to me to be the match of the dark horses. Both an excellent opportunity to reach the semi-finals. Feyenoord would like revenge for the lost final in the Conference League last season.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2022/2023 on: March 21, 2023, 07:20:16 PM
Surely several players will follow to this competition next season? There is enough money, and for a lot of money there are many football players who are only too happy to kick a ball here. moreover, Ronaldo will also have had contact with the necessary players about the environment and lifestyle in Saudi Arabia. Only 4 or 5 good players could become Ronaldo's teammates next season. I just don't know how long he will continue to play football in this league? I understand that it is financially attractive, but he has enough money, right? And you've been used to a European life all your life, haven't you? The difference between the Middle East and Europe in culture seems really huge to me. I don't think Messi will go this way.
