Cannot believe I am saying this, but this could be a good alt coin opportunity
What can you going to do when someone use it in an "un-Halal" way, say lending that "halal altcoin" out with interest?

This is not funny! This could be a nice coin. Why rip people for a few BTC. Can we track those Bitcoins. He must send it from his wallet to another, so it will show itself in the blockchain? Right???

On average there are 6 blocks per hour 6 * 24 = 144 blocks per day 30 * 144 = 4320 blocks per month You want 2 so 2/4320 about 0.05% of the network hash rate Network hash rate is about 66420 TH, so you would need about 66420*2/4320 = 31 TH But remember that you have to grow your 31 TH at the same rate as the rest of the network in order to maintain your 2 blocks per month. Follow this curve: http://blockchain.info/charts/hash-rateA side note for this. With 0.05% of network hashrate, you are expected to get 0.05% blocks, but the probability of getting no blocks in a month is not low.

the private key is the password of our wallet.
Not quite the same. The password is used to encrypt your wallet file, and the wallet file contains your private keys. If i lost my .dat file with the receiving addresses and my secret password can i get back my bitcoins or they are lost forever ?
If you have no backup of your wallet.dat and have no backup of your private keys, there is no way to get your bitcoin back. Having the bitcoin addresses or the password you used to encrypt the wallet do not help at all.

You may track the bitcoin, but you won't be able to get it back. Also you will lose track if he uses mixing services.

quick answer "NO", however it wouldn't surprise me as many governments will want their share of tax from crypto currency.
They can tax you when you trade bitcoin with fiat, but I don't think they can tax you in btc tx.

The altcoin section is a better place for this thread IMO.

I just hope that the diff doesn't become so high that all current miners become obsolete quickly. Sadly I think that's what will happen.
The difficulty has been increasing at a slower rate recently.

Did you see a spike in sales when you announced Bitcoin was accepted at eGifter?
Yes, it was a surprising spike. We are a private company and don’t talk about numbers, but it was a substantial spike that continues to grow.
So, accepting bitcoin does help companies getting more business.

This is interesting. I wonder how that will affect the BTC market going forward. I think the more big corps that sign on, the more valuable BTC might become?
Probably. And people will stop saying bitcoin is only for drugs and illegal activities (which is not true).
