Is it okay to post these now?

KNC has said a lot of things, many of them false.  Take it with a mine of salt...

Indeed it would be great to have it confirmed via community members.

Good to see the 0.15W/GH/s Power Efficiency

On 28nm!

That is something Cheesy

However anyone know the efficiency of KNC newest offering?

what knc newest offering  Huh

I don't mean to derail so I will keep it short.

"First announced last November, the 16nm Solar is six times faster than the company's previous 28nm design."
"The company says the "environmentally friendly" chip, capable of 0.07 w/GHs, will increase the efficiency of its industrial mining farms by six to eight times."

Edit: bitfurys existing 0.2w/GHs and recently

"BitFury 16nm Bitcoin ASIC Taped Out"
The specifications on the new ASIC are excellent. From BitFury’s press release:

"“Executing its chip with expectations to operate as low as 0.06 joules per gigahash (unit of energy per unit of compute), BitFury is the first Bitcoin transaction processor ready to support the increased computing power required for the upcoming “Exahash Era” "

I could run 2 of these in my garage at home

seriously? you have one mighty garage with a 150-200A dedicated box...jealous.

If you have a detached bungalow you can opt to move your main panel/feed to the garage upgrade it to 200A and then feed into the main residence.

I could run 2 of these in my garage at home, and would if I had the opportunity to buy them. Hopefully that will happen in the future.

Congrats, Spondoolies!!

Thus far we still have options of hardware manufacturers that are keeping up with efficiency's.

Unfortunately due to the obvious business opportunities and reduced support costs it has become a trend for manufacturers to cater to the larger clientele and large volume Build To Order.

...
In a pack of 48 they're upwards of $400 per unit which is probably approaching $300 with Spondoolies quantities.

So that's $3,000 of PSUs. Shipping will almost certainly be palletised, those things are way too big and heavy to go through normal routes so that's a fair chunk but not really different to anyone else.
Regarding PSU cost, you don't have a clue.

I apologise for suggesting why the SP50 would be worth a higher ticket price than simply $/GH, calm down Roll Eyes. Here is where mortals have to purchase the DS1600SPE-3-001, at $400 per PSU. And here are many other sources at [$400] [$480] [$480] [$450] [$380 with 4 month lead time] [$370 with 4 month lead time]. Even if you can buy them for less they're still worth closer to retail for an SP50 customer because normal people don't have access to your prices.

Ps I think this is the first non SP20 product that hasn't shipped with overloaded PSUs, its a good start [16570 * 0.93 / 10 = 1540W per PSU].

Photo for context Cheesy

What is the price per SP50?

has to be around 25-26K shipped to be competitive considering that competitors can lower their prices. ~180 days to profitability at these numbers.

Probably more, it includes PSUs.

These are 11U = 24 x 19".
6x 120mm fans = a grid of 14 x 10"s of fans
And so the 10x 1600W PSUs *appear* to be the same 1U ones from the SP35 (Artesyn DS1600SPE-3).

You don't agree with Bitcoin Jesus?:

Quote
"I think it should be clear to everyone that bigger blocks will likely mean more full nodes around the world, and therefore more decentralization, not less. This will make bitcoin even more difficult to control, censor, or be stopped by anyone, including governments." - Roger Ver

Bigger blocks can also be achieved with core, if/when there is consensus to do so. I see too many posts where people are mixing the core vs XT debate with the blocksize debate.

I have no interest in XT sorry. CORE with block size increase is welcomed.
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT has backdoor that may reveal real IP address of its users? on: August 20, 2015, 03:52:54 PM
I think a lot of people are changing their minds on XT after the addition of blacklisting code.

Why didn't they just keep the Core code except add the block size upgrade?

I agree with you completely.

As I have posted before.
