301  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum on: March 09, 2021, 02:03:38 PM
So I bought some Ethereum for £1070 a few days ago and it is now worth £1326. Would now be a good time to sell for a small profit?

I am investing more long term in Bitcoin but wanted to trade a bit on smaller coins i.e Ethereum etc.

I advise you not to ask such questions to strangers on the Internet. Everyone should decide for themselves how much to invest, in what moment and with what profit / loss to sell.
If you consider this earnings appropriate, then sell it.
Overall, the sentiment in the market is very positive and I personally haven't been selling yet, but I'm not sure the price will go up, I just accept the risk that it may go down.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Wall Observer — price movements and news on: March 09, 2021, 01:03:17 PM
Looks like we’re going for another huge move going up again.  Sold CRV and SNX, still holding some SXP and bought some BNB.  I feel like it’s going for another strong trend up...  One of the strongest the market has ever seen.

Edit:  It’s alt season folks.  Good luck, have fun.  Wink

It looks more like BNB season Smiley but it we all must to agree that the time for alts comes in big steps.
However, I think that each of the altcoins should have its own speculative thread, because here they will mix and surely only a few of them will dominate the whole thread.
303  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why ETH dropped 20% from the high peak? Anyone knows? on: March 09, 2021, 12:43:03 PM
The correction is done and the markets are heading for new ATH again.

The Bull is still strong I would guess. I don't think a market drop is in place any more until new ATH is reached for many coins.

This is exactly what happened. Corrections are perfectly normal in any financial market, including Wall Street and any other exchange.
At the moment we should be leaving the correction period and building the price up to the new ATH.
After reaching it, there will be a correction again, but it is difficult to predict when it will take place and how deep it will be.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's Tweets... on: March 09, 2021, 12:27:19 PM
It must be admitted that the influence of the tweets made by Elon Musk is very large, it can make crypto prices go up suddenly. With a large
number of followers, there will definitely be many people who are affected by what Elon Musk is doing. I really hope Elon Musk keeps making
tweets related to Bitcoin or Dogecoin, so that the price can go up again. Even though Elon Musk did this just for fun.

EGOD just got rugged lol

Really, he did it!

https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1368058884837928970

I wonder if people are really that stupid that they think it's his intentional post, or are most of these people investing in those random altcoins just as jokingly as Elon Musk does ?!  Shocked Roll Eyes
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Working on a new Crypto on: March 06, 2021, 11:36:25 AM
Hello Everyone,

I'm working on a new, at the moment just for fun....it will be proof of stake and instant transactions.

It will be similar to PI crypto as you'll have to check regularly to transfer your funds to your wallet.
It won't have any miners, but it will have verifiers, who will check the fairness of the chain.

When registering, you will have to use your real data, that will get hashed in browser and saved on the server as a hash, along with your public key. This, I hope will make sure that users register only once.

I plan to have a low transaction fee that will be disbursed to all the verifiers, who will sign the block.

At the moment I'm thinking this could be used as an in-game currency or a token for proof of stake in the real world (for example making sure things happened in a particular order).

I don't yet have a name for it.

Any comments/suggestions?

If you're doing something like this for fun and experience, it's very good instead of all this greedy scammers that create tons fo shitcoins just to earn few bucks and spam all forum.
However, I am not sure if I understand correctly your concept of confirming transactions and paying for it in the form of a fee. Are you talking about manual verification and confirmation of transactions, or automatic, as in the case of classic PoS?
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's Tweets... on: March 06, 2021, 11:05:27 AM
His tweets no longer affect the price, a couple of his tweets sent DOGE up to 0.074$ and that's it. Now the price is holding at 0.05$ regardless of his tweets.
Yes, it is clear that it no longer has an impact because not everyone can get lucky through Dogecoin, there are also some people who experience losses through Dogecoin, especially for those who buy it at the highest price, it is clear that until now they are still losing money.

His tweets no longer affect the price of Dogecoin after he wrote that he would no longer support this coin until the whales sell most of what they have. In his opinion, the large centralization of Dogecoin in the hands of a small number of investors is a problem. Here is his tweet about that:

307  Economy / Speculation / Re: For all of you scared of the current dip on: March 06, 2021, 10:56:27 AM
May I was scared because I buy Bitcoin during the hypes and once it drops, I have to lose... this is normal to human, right? We feel terrible when that it looks terrible also, the dip could be scary in the sense that someone will lose or even us. But if you are buying during the bear season, like at $10k or below, even the price will dump at $40k, there is still no need to worry, we are actually safe.

This feeling can't be deniable but of course, it should be reasonable as well.
Lol if you bought in the Hype meaning you have the Guts to risk and Hold , or if not then you are simply A total loser.
Bitcoin price is increasing at one time and on the next will have either correction or Bear market.
So if you are not ready to Hold then never chase the price when it is increasing .

We are all humans and we should understand that inexperienced investors are very impulsive and often make decisions without thinking. They also find it hard to resist the fear of a rapid drop in price. Therefore, I advise everyone before making a investment decision to remember and stick to this so as not to sell as the price drops quickly. It is best to wait until the price is at the level we are satisfied with and then sell. Bitcoin's price fluctuates, but sooner or later there will be a new ATH.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: PIG TOKEN on: March 06, 2021, 10:43:16 AM

I don't understand a bit .. Why was such a large total supply of tokens created and now they are burned?
How were they distributed - i.e. who could receive tokens and who now own them?
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you trade on these exchanges hotbit, stex, kucoin, crex24 and tradeogre? on: March 06, 2021, 10:33:12 AM
Do you exchange on these exchanges? I have some mined shitcoin listed on them and I'd like to exchange them soon but I don't know if these exchanges are legit or scam. Did you guys still use them?

I know Stex, Kucoin and Hotbit.
I know Stex and Kucoin a little less, but I had no problems with them and when it comes to some little amounts, I think you have nothing to worry about.
I used HotBit a lot and I had no problems with them before, so you can safely sell there.
Of course, it all depends on the amount of money, if, as you write, these are small amounts, you can safely sell them on the three exchanges that I mentioned. Just before that, compare what fees for trade and withdrawals they have.
310  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2021 top and end of year predictions on: March 06, 2021, 10:23:49 AM
Hi,

I was interested to know what you think Bitcoin will peak at this year and what you think the price will be at the end of each year up until 2025

Here's what I think could be a fair estimate:

2021 peak: $95,000

EOY 2021: $65,000
EOY 2022: $100,000
EOY 2023: $150,000
EOY 2024: $300,000
EOY 2025: $500,000

OK you are a n00b here. No problem Smiley

Facts:
Bitcoin has a 4 year cycle
ATH is about 6months after halving
Low point is a year after ATH

This year there will be an ATH.
Stable until probably 90-110k
Unstable upward to 190k or more crazy

After that it will crash down in the oncoming 300 days
It will then go to $45k or so. Typically ATH/6.

So your estimates for 2022-2024 are going to be way off.
The next halving is in May 2024 so the next ATH (around $1M) will be around may 2025
2022-2025 are going to be pain and suffering for new investers...

You can't be sure that every cycle will be the same. What you wrote is just very likely, but if it always did, it wouldn't be free market.
The market is influenced by many external factors. You saw for yourself how the market reacted to Musk's investment .. The same may happen if something bad happens and the market reacts with a panic sale.
But I agree that your predictions are very possible  Smiley
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple ever reach $5 ? on: March 06, 2021, 10:13:20 AM
bad news made XRP price go down very far the lawsuit against XRP cannot be dismissed Of course the XRP price is hard to go up to $ 5 Moreover, market conditions are getting worse don't expect much for XRP it's better to move investments to other coins

Unfortunately, you are right. The SEC lawsuit is a very serious matter and anyone who has invested in XRP should seriously consider what the consequences may be if Ripple loses this case. In my opinion it is too risky to hold such an investment, and that XRP will ever hit $5 is just a drunk's dream.

Hi,

I was interested to know what you think Bitcoin will peak at this year and what you think the price will be at the end of each year up until 2025

Here's what I think could be a fair estimate:

2021 peak: $95,000

EOY 2022: $100,000
EOY 2023: $150,000
EOY 2024: $300,000
EOY 2025: $500,000

Maybe you will say that I am too much optimistic, but I think there is a very good chance that this year ATH will be set at around $200k
The bull run will end at the beginning of next year and we will have 2 years of bear market, i.e. a repeat of the situation from 2018.
313  Economy / Speculation / Re: For all of you scared of the current dip on: March 06, 2021, 09:41:47 AM
We already saw the Capacity and movement , why still be weary on what the market will bring unless  we are here just to make easy money then this will be on the other side of the system

Bitcoin will Make another ATH if not today ,or not tomorrow ? there are still plenty of time for this to come true.

Just focus on Holding , the amount you can afford to lose must be keep inside your investment and trust me , one day you will find that everything will end up Winning .

HODL!!!! HODL!!!! HODL!!!!!

There's no other way! The demand for Bitcoin is constantly increasing, and there will be less and less new coins. The way this system works is that the price has to go up. New ATH will be appearing every now and then, because more and more people are interested in Bitcoin and invest in it!
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's Tweets... on: March 06, 2021, 09:15:36 AM
No, I do not agree. He has not time for that. No one from us can even imagine what it takes to be the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla and how much time consuming is that...

This tweets are just fun for him...

Perhaps he is, but precisely because he manages such huge companies, he has a lot of analysts and marketing specialists around him. I think they are advising him just such a strategy. Why not earn tens of millions on pumping some altcoin?

Most probably, there are someone or a tem behind it. Why bother if with that short tweets you'll be able to gain millions of dollars
from those crypto followers who loves riding with him.

We don't know what really behind it but with how he managed to make statement and bring pumped to the project, it seems that
there's business around it.

This is exactly what I suspect. Everything looks like a normal joke, but maybe he wants to show it that way.. I do not think that he would write such tweets without thinking and without consulting with someone who knows the market. I think that even if he treated it like fun at the beginning, now he definitely saw the potential to make money in it.

316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid big commissions to pay ethereum ? on: March 02, 2021, 02:39:06 PM
What cosmic commission? You mean GAS fee?
Well. You can pay for gas very low, but your transaction will take very long to process, and the transaction will likely fail.
You pay according to the current gas rate, your transaction will be processed faster. Only that!

Was going to ask same thing about Cosmic Commission  Grin then I thought he must be talking about gas fees,
There is no way to avoid paying gas except you can use a lower gas but don't expect your transaction to be confirmed soon, it could take days or weeks depending on the situation.

Better not advise using a lower gas fee, because most likely the transfer will not take many hours or days, but will be canceled (failed) and the gas that was used for the transaction will be gone.
It is best to use the suggested gas fee and unfortunately, when it comes to Ethereum Network, this fee cannot be avoided.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elon Musk's Tweets... on: March 02, 2021, 12:17:13 PM
elon musk is a huge speculator. He is aware of his power and shills it with cryptocurrency. He also knows that the value of dogecoin will definitely decrease. He doesn't need money either. I don't understand why he's doing it like that.

I think he is just training and testing his possibility of manipulation of altcoins price. I think he is right now buying some other altcoin to pump up its price by 1000% in a few days / weeks. It wouldn't be a surprise for me at all.

It will probably be much better for you to move this thread or open a new one in the "Currency Exchange" section here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0
Alternatively, in the "Exchanges" section here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=223.0
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: See why I think etheruem will be bullish on: February 16, 2021, 05:30:06 PM
Agree, if ethereum transaction costs can be reduced it will be a greater attraction for investors to use ethereum. Right now, the fee of transaction is very high even we using economy (Gas setting).

I think anyone interested in the cryptocurrency market can see that most of the new projects are built on the Ethereum platform. Thanks to this, Ethereum has great potential, but the transfer costs are too high. The only solution will be to lower these costs with the introduction of Ethereum 2.0. However, no one knows how much it will be possible to reduce these costs. If it is not a very big difference, it will unfortunately reduce also Ethereum's potential in the future.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: My etherwallet problem on: February 16, 2021, 05:14:52 PM
update:
i tried everything but still not solving, im setting higher gas to pay but the error is still appearing

I had similar problems three times with different tokens.
Twice it was the fault of a too low gas fee - in your case, make sure that you haven't set something manually.
The third time it was the token's fault - that is, I didn't know that the dev team make swap of the token for another one. The problem was solved when I contacted dev team and they explained to me how to swap correctly.
