301  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies how do you feel when your post is criticised. on: March 05, 2024, 06:35:56 AM
Additionally, I will sincerely advice all the newbies who are quick to anger or discouraged when their post are been criticised to see it as a means of learning and not to react rudely because mistake brings correction .
criticism brings growth and rather than tagging it as criticism, it's best to look at it as a correction that should help you become better. Thier are lots of things that we probably feel it's the right way to do things in the forum that we later realised that it's not through the replies that looked as though we were being attacked.

No one grew from a newbie to whatever rank he currently his now without receiving some form of opposing views about things he thought was right that he later found out through those replies that he was wrong. Criticism will always come and in most instances you might not always like it but our just have to deal with it maturedly and learn from it and move on.

If you don't want to be criticised then you're definitely not ready for growth at all.
302  Economy / Economics / Re: keep pleasures without incomes aside and Chase after profits on: March 05, 2024, 06:26:08 AM
I decided to cancel our marriage anniversary celebration because I insighted that there is more to gain In my continues hodling while the markets skyrockets than selling off my hodled coins just for ceremonial pleasures which can not profer me financial returns other than consuming the ones saved.
Now, my wife seized not to understand what my logical points about this are because she is not the one providing for the family.
I know you might have expected to get an applaud for your decision but the truth is that it's not always about the money. You're talking about your family as though you're referring to your employee or someone that's supposedly far from you.

If for any reason you want to alter the plans of celebrating your anniversary with your wife, it should be a product of mutual consent were you make her understand the reason why you are doing what you are doing and the best way to possibly do it is to reduce your budget for the anniversary and maybe take her out on a cool dinner were you guys can have a cool chat and maybe talk about your investment decision on the date. I believe its right to make your partner understand the reason for your actions so you won't put her in the dark and make her feel as though you're not considering her feeling at all before making any decision.

Investing into Bitcoin is good but it's not until you see  that the market is bullish that you will invest, your anniversary comes just ones in a year while you have the rest of the year to accumulate as much Bitcoin as you want to, what's the esense of the accumulation you're accumulating if you can't spare part of it into solving your real life problems?
303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does BTC mean to you? on: March 05, 2024, 06:11:03 AM
Hello, Everyone

I'll keep this short.

What does BTC mean to you?

Some may say freedom others  say hope in a world of restriction, love to hear your responses.

Before you say this do you know what bitcoin really all about?
If yes then you need to search around here, I came across similar topic and questions.
I don't mean to make you sad but you must use the search option to filter out topics before creating another same topic.
well, if I should phrase it in a way my 19 year old self would probably give in an exam situation, "Bitcoin  is an improvement on the fiat and banking system that gives the users full authority over Thier asset and offers incentives to users who stays longer and accumulate more in the market. It is a threat to the government over regulatory policies on citizens income, a solution to the difficulty in international transactions and the surest solution to storing of wealth for the future. Ignorant once call it ponzi scheme while the lazy one see it as a complex stuff to go into but the real bitcoinnier keep buying it because that's what they should be doing.

304  Other / Archival / Re: Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ? on: March 05, 2024, 05:37:04 AM
Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ?  Is there chance of major correction from here as prices have already peaked now.
although there had been speculation regarding this year being bullish, no one was certain that it will start at this one of the year or that it was going to gain up to this current price within such short space of time. For a short term investors, it might seem a bit unwise to buy now with fears that the current level the price of Bitcoin has risen to might possibly be at it peak but with the way it's going, I doubt that's the case. If you're overly concerned about the right time to enter into the market you're probably a trader and trading is mostly about risk and you should have learnt to deal with it.

For someone that's looking at holding for the range of a five year plus, then you shouldn't look at the current ATH cause if you buy at the current $63k+ price, within the next five years you will certainly be at  a good profit that could be a source of motivation that will propel you to hold even further.
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Work Now May Not Work Tomorrow on: March 04, 2024, 07:07:45 AM
How about you have you at one time of your gambling experience experienced finding patterns that you think are effective and consistent only to find out later after several days that it's not working anymore..

I don't have any set out pattern I normally follow during my gambling. I gamble basically based on my current  instinct and a bit of my research and analysis but I do have a friend in high school that took time to o analyse virtual sports betting and came up with a strategy that he used to cash out alomst $1k within one week after which the strategy stopped working. It was a surprise to me how he was able to do that but the reality is that he actually did it.
306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Try to stick to your instincts as a gambler on: March 04, 2024, 06:56:00 AM
Today i decided to try one of my sweet predictions in the EPL games. So, i predicted in 4 matches and placed my net. However, during this time i watched my games played so well but two games were holding it and i felt i would lose this game. It was already 83 minutes and i needed these games to play at 87 minutes i gave up and decided to cashout the amount i used to stake since it was the amount that was showing there. I thought it was clear and instead of losing i should rather just get my money back. Just in 15 minutes after i checked the live score and found out that the game played. I felt so angry and unhappy because i have not trusted my instincts if not i wouldn't have cashed out at that time.
lol!
This is just a one sided issue about cashing out because some people had the opportunity of cashing out in cases as this but refused because of greed and ended up loosing at the end of the game.

This is gambling, there is no guarantee that you were going to win anyways so whenever you have the opportu of winning don't allow greed to convince you that if you had been patient you would have won the jackpot. Truth is that in this particular scinario it could have been to your advantage but you only realised this after the game ended but it is possible that your instinct was right or that it was wrong mbut the God thing is that you r gambling pair off this time around. don't be surprised that next time you will find yourself in situation as this you might want to allow the game play to the end and end up seeing the reverse of what happened now.
307  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving don't make wealth on: March 04, 2024, 06:41:38 AM
No matter how many bitcoin you hold you can still misuse the money, so we should understand the concept of Richness and Wealth.

you were making sense from the beginning but this statement contradict what you're saying big time. What you're basically doing when you buy Bitcoin and hold is investment and not saving. When you save, the amount you kept aside remains the same regardless of how long you leave it Thier which places you at a serious disadvantage because the purchasing power of the money after five to ten years dropyps so low that it can't afford half of those things the money could buy at the year you saved it.  Investing into Bitcoin with that money on the other hand for same period of time of say ten years would have given you 3 to 4x of your initial investment which after selling would have yielded a substantial amount of profit.

Generally, savings for a short term isn't bad because Thier are times you will need up to a certain amount of money before buying a certain asset you might need and that's just the time when saving is good but when it comes to long term bases, invest your fiat into a good asset and you will have good returns whenever you want to get back your money. It's not compulsory that you must save it into crypto but the reason why saving into Bitcoin is preferable is because Bitcoin has proven to be reliable and and regardless of how much you're able to accumulate you won't be bothered about tax payment or get bullied by financial institutions that would want to querry the the source of your holding or stuff like that.

308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 04, 2024, 06:22:49 AM
Now if your goal is to accumulate BTC and you feel that you have not accumulated enough BTC, yet, then you probably should not be employing any kind of tools to sell BTC with expectations of being able to buy back, since it seems that you need to first get to a certain high enough level of BTC so that you generally have the sense that you have accumulated enough BTC to be able to feel comfortable shaving some BTC off along the way as the BTC price likely goes up with the passage of time.  I hardly would consider 0.04  BTC to be even close to enough BTC to start such a selling on the way up technique since you are likely still accumulating BTC.. so you would be selling with one hand and buying with the other, yet at the same time, I am not opposed to those who might continue to buy BTC with a DCA method and then try to supplement with some kind of raking strategy, even though it seems a bit contradictory and you may well end up either confusing yourself and/or realizing that instead of buying and selling, maybe you should just focus on buying until you have enough (or more than enough) first before prematurely fucking around with selling.
you know, if not  for constantly going through the thread that constantly reshapes my mentality and thought process on how much BTC is enough before ever thinking of selling, 0.04BTC which is around $2.5k looked like a big  deal for me cause my current weekly DCA accumulation amount is at $40 and I haven't done all that long for my ten year projection and the urge to sell part during this bullish period had once come in.

I guess the best thing to do is to remove any thought of selling our holding  out of our mind untill we reach our set out goal during which we can consider using the taking strategy which I feel if followed properly will keep us in good profit but the only issue is that after selling part of your holding holding when the market is bullish, chances are that Bitcoin price might not necessarily go bearish to a price you will be comfortable to buy within a short period of time which like you've pointed out will almost look as though you're gambling with your holding.
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is buying like me on: March 04, 2024, 05:48:49 AM
Bitcoin Etf approval brought joy to our faces, yes another win for bitcoin, then how much more would the next halving bring,  right now all I'm doing Is buying, I was DCAING gently before, but right now no one hold me, no more gentle buys, cause right now I'm pumped, I'm dancing for the bull run, I wasn't part of the last halving cause just recently started my bitcoin journey and I can't wait to brag about beign one of the next bull run partakers. Start buying 🦾
you should be carefull on how much you accumulated during this bullish period because because Thier is no 💯 guarantee that next bullish period would get as high as this current price and so it you do reckless accumulation without counting the needed cost, you might end up putting yourself into serious pressure and urge to selling your holding in times of financial constraints due to lack of proper plan during the accumulation period.

The reason why it's still best to buy using the DCA method and set out the right routine is that it allows you to accumulate at your own pace using the resource you can put into your investment without necessarily being bothered about sudden shoot up or drop in price.

311  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What if the naira currency takes its shape again on: March 02, 2024, 08:11:42 AM
Either the value of naira increase or not, it must affect us  because at the end of the day, outside of most jobs that pays most youth in dollar, thier isn't much jobs available in the country. Do you still know that one of the major reason why we've not heard cases of armed rubbery of recent is basically because of the advent of yahoo? Do you think if youth can't do yahoo and the once that are hustling legitimately and are earning in dollar can't get good pay because of the exchange rate crime won't increase in the country?

Untill thier is an increase in the salary of local workers, gain in the value of naira is nothing too big to be apppauded
you've seen it Na.

Now that the naira is even gaining have you seen any positive effect in the price of things?

When dollar been de gain, e be like say the only problem when we get for this country Na the value of our currency and say if e finally come down price of things go drop but now when e don de finally come down no one don reason to bring down price of transportation and goods. At some point it is becoming obvious that we are our number one problem in this country. We don't even know how we found ourselves in this economic mess amd all we are basically doing is trial and error to see what to shift blames to. I believe with time no body go talk much about this whole naira of a thing and the hardship go still continue and everybody go easily adapt to the situation cause Na wetin we de best at doing.
312  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Imprisonment on LGBTQ on victim your thought on: March 02, 2024, 05:56:44 AM
It's no longer news that Africa have been condemning the practice of LGBTQ over the years but have not sanction defaulter, I was reading the news  l saw one Africa country parliament passing bills to purnish any who is victim to LGBTQ.
This  thrilled my mind to discuss this in the board if the government is doing the right thing based on Africa way if believe and practice or taken wrong direction. You can read through this link for more information
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/2/28/ghanas-parliament-passes-anti-lgbtq-bill
every society has it own way of life and what is acceptable in a particular region might be a taboo in another region. The average African man is either of the Christian, Moslem or traditional believe system and most of them kicks against same sex marriage or any form of activity that goes in that guise and so it's very normal for them to kick against LGBTQ.

I know everyone has is right to living the way he feels okay with and in a normal situation, as long as it doesn't disturbs the peace and wellbeing of the public , no one should have been concerned about it and I guess that's the main reason why some countries and part of the world gives the consent to such practices but for most African countries, being a gay is an abomination and in some communities you might end up being stoned to death if cought in such act.
313  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is never enough! on: March 02, 2024, 05:47:43 AM
Think of when you hit a jackpot, and some cool cash slide into your pocket, you feels better and step up some pride and involved arrogance, you feel like you can buy the world with your peanuts lol, bro, I little shopping out of it can makes you look like a poor man again. There is this oil dealer guy in my community who happen to be hot market pro in the oil industry, he owns an oil well but this guy it gets to his head and start contesting for political power which he has lose twice now and the worst of it now is that the oil well is dried because suck the money into politics, loss everything. This money is never really enough, no wonder even the President of nations still fights to get money after office.
the rate at which money comes is slower than the rate at which it goes. It can take you years  of rigorous labour to earn as high as $1m but within a month it can all go into the air if mismanaged.

When you are at the top, the easier place to get from the top to is mostly down the button so while you're earning and it appears as though everything is alright it is that moment you need to be watchful and careful enough so you don't find yourself in a situation where you allow all your money to get into your head and you lose your money through reckless spending.
314  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 02, 2024, 05:05:54 AM
When you have one or more children, you have heavy responsibilities. Sometimes you're on a tight budget. Can being a parent change our playing habits? Are losses even harder to bear when you're in charge of a family? What are your experiences in this area?
don't have a child yet but parenting comes with a whole lot of responsibility and sacrifices and one of it might be stopping habit that could possibly affect the family negatively. If your gambling habit is becoming a bit addictive and is affecting your financial life, it's only best you reduce you rate of gambling whenever you have children to be on a safer side cause you don't want to have issues with your family members in times of low finance who might think you've gambled out the whole family wealth.
315  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Don't allow politicians to use you on: March 01, 2024, 06:41:49 PM
The young people should learn and see that this people no care about us, make we no allow them to use us when e reach time for elections .
it's not until something like this happens before you will know that our leaders don't have shit of a plan for the youth, they already know that this sanctions and attacks on the crypto sector won't provide any long term solution to the current economic hardship but they just want to shift peoples attention from the so much money they've been stealing from the countries treasury and put all the blames on binance and berue the change people.

The sad reality is that the same youth that are suffering and are struggling to look for alternative to securing Thier hard earned money will still take peanuts just to support these failed politicians come 2027 who will end up forgetting about Thier promise and continue making things hard for the average citizens.
316  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Diversification is the only solution now on: March 01, 2024, 06:26:01 PM
If you go de put all your money for one sector, Na die you want die be that Na. You see say most of the people and businesses when de suffer well well for this country Na people when be say Na just one thing them de do and when problem burst out for that sector e go choke them wetin no nice.

I have seen a  man that had a big supper store that was booming and no one ever thought they could become poor overnight and they just concentrated all Thier resource into the business but during a protest they the shop was burnt down and that was the end of all his wealth.

This advice legit and as we de work, make we create different means when we fit de put our money into when no de all that related so in case of emergency problem we go still de safe.
317  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: My idea on business strategy on: March 01, 2024, 08:17:52 AM
4. Lack of customer relation: when you don know what your customer needs the most and also knowing there expression if you are satisfying them or not.
when it comes to most Nigerian small scale  businesses, this is the area most of them end up missing it all aswr.

Most small scale business owners don't know that Thier customers is the number one factor that keeps Thier business running, they are mostly not too concerned about the feedback they get from Thier customers. You go to most shops and it's almost as if you have to beg them to sell you stuff before they will come out to sell stuff for you. And when customers stops coming around the first thing that comes to Thier mind is that a neighbour is using Witch craft on them.

A good customer relation and service can keep a business going smoothly even when the customers aren't all that much. Thier is how you will treat your customers, even if they have an alternative shop to get what you're selling at a cheaper rate, thy will still continue to petronice you
318  Other / Politics & Society / Re: You don't like the world you live ? Then change it on: March 01, 2024, 07:12:54 AM
Don't tell your excuse to be bad..." Becouse this is our world everybody are bad" If you use this excuse the world never be good.
So Simple things and we can make it better.
Start just with small things the way you talk the way you do things and so much more.

I think a popular hymn that quotes " .
Sing a song, spread some cheer,
There are sad and lonely people ev’rywhere;
Be a friend, show some love,
It will lift them from the dungeons of despair.

Show a little bit of love and kindness,
Never go along with hatred’s blindness,
Take a little time to reach for joy and wear a happy face;
Sing a little bit when the days are dreary,
Give a little help to a friend who’s weary –
That’s the way to make the world a happy place.
sums it all up.

While we keep complaining about the world being too bad, we all have role to play in ensuring that people around us live better that we meet them at first.
319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: March 01, 2024, 06:55:21 AM

From my opinion, I think there isn’t any need to stake or risk one’s money on a game simply because you want to catch fun when you could simply not risk your money and still have fun while watching same game.

if you have played street soccer before, you will understand the fun part of gambling with money.

If you want to have real fun from street soccer, tell each team to bring a certain amount of money out and that any team that wins goes home with the money. It's at that moment you will see the beast in those players that will normally play casually because there was nothing to loose. Everyone will play and become serious with the game because something is at stake and for me, that's my fun in street soccer. It's the same reason why you find a lot of energy among those watching the game at soccer centres , most of them have stacked in the game and you see them arguing and having real fun because they know at the end of the match Thier is a high possibility of them winning.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: March 01, 2024, 06:44:25 AM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling. Myself had experienced it, and personally I used to be happy and I used to be polite with my family members and kid whenever I am on profit. On the day of losing it changes exactly in the opposite way, even for simple things I get much anger. Particularly while giving food to kid patience is must. On winning days I let him take his own time and eat. On the losing days I used to shout at him. I'm addicted, and I want fellow gamblers to make a self analysis at regular interval and be on the safer side.
Thier is nothing strange about this feeling. If you're not winning, it's almost impossible for you to be happy about it and regardless of how good you are in keeping situations to yourself, you can't cope by not showing it to people around you.

What's necessary is just the ability to managing your temper at that instance so it doesn't become a serious issue that could lead you to transfering aggression on someone else. Most of this unnoticed impolse needs you to control them as the boss of your life and so you need to basically tell yourself that if you've lost, that's just it, no one should have to be molested for that reason, deal with the loss naturedly and know that what has happen has actually happened and Thier is absolutely nothing you can do about it.
