yeah i saw the bfl web page before i even saw this forumn.  i looked at it my very first day of learning about bitcoins.  its right there at the top if type in "bitcoin mining".  i'm following this thread really closely bc if its real i will buy one.  but for me 600 is a ton of money so i can't risk just throwing it away on anything less than 800 m/hash 100w.  i'm not trying to make money with it, i just enjoy mining bitcoins and would like to solo mine ( i know it will still takes months to get a block) just to do it.  anyway, i'm really glad this thread is here so i can make an informed decision.
305  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 100% organic beef and pork on: December 30, 2011, 05:11:29 PM
i can attest.  I woked in a restaurant that served only organic meats and the real standout were the steaks.  Delmonico/ribeye steaks from organic beef are noticably more tender and richer in flavor than store bought counterparts. i'm subscribing to this thread unfortunately i don't have enough btc at present to get any but that could change in the future.  i'd recommend an organic steak to anyone who considers themselves a steak lover!
306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Litecoin PPS Pool - We pay for stale shares! on: December 29, 2011, 09:53:43 PM
*shrug* never done a pool for litecoins before so i thought i'd try it.

now i'm no expert by any means but it kind of seems like one of those "buy my how to get rich strategy" deals. i mean if invented a box that could do 50g/hash i'd just turn it on and keep my mouth shut. but i guess theres more profit in selling it to ppl who could afford it?

i'm experimenting with litecoinpool for 24 hours to see if its more profitable than solo.  I'll tell you what tho, i really like that it cheers for me!

310  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What is Your Favorite GLBSE Stock Investment? on: December 29, 2011, 02:28:52 PM
thanks very much goat, i kind of figured that from looking at your thread and what not the dividends pretty much speak for themselves.  my initial investment was only 4 btc so it was kind of hard for me to take the plunge. although your quick response and from other posts all over this forum give me the confidence to go ahead and buy a share. i like bein "diverse".  i was also thinking of investing in the racehorse, cause that just sounds cool.
311  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What is Your Favorite GLBSE Stock Investment? on: December 29, 2011, 01:00:26 PM
i thought i'd ask this question since it seems kind of appropriate.  i'm new to glbse and i'm trying to build a portfolio (chicks dig dudes with portfolio's). and also i see goat reads it. so my question is, why is tyger valued so highly over other mining companies? i'm not trying to flame, just curious since its easy to buy a few shares of stock @ .14 btc but not so easy to cough up 3 btc for 1 share.  is it that he has a bigger rig therefore generates more bitcoins therefore higher dividends per share? or is it that his company has been around longer and consistently/relilably generates dividends? i dunno, from reading this thread i bought some mergedmining stock then went to buy tygerr but couldn't afford it.  i'm still thinkin pretty hard on buying a share but would like to know why i'm paying that much for it.
thanks!

318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin 51% attacked? on: December 19, 2011, 02:27:19 AM
so as a solo miner does that mean i am a member of "the dark pool"? that is soo awesome! do i get to kill innocent ppl or anything like that? or at least corrupt more cpu's into quitting pools and coming over to "the dark pool"? i'm not really sure what a 51% attack is, i think maybe it has to do with politics?
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Physical Litecoins on: December 17, 2011, 11:11:15 PM
neat looking litecoins! i don't have enough for a physical coin but i'm all for it! it really helps ppl understand that crypto currency's do have value. its funny bc i've been showing ppl my physical bitcoins and they are like "oh so they are actually worth something".  sigh, still its got a few ppl do go to bitcoin.org so i'm sure litecoins would also help.

The fact you got one with a low hash rate even at that amount of time is pretty lucky.
[/quote]

that was kind of lucky, but i started using the optimized minerd for amd 64 bit processers and it upped my khash signifigantly.  block #2 was found 1 hour 58 minutes after i started mining.  THAT is fkn lucky (like less than 1% chance i think)
