301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: February 23, 2016, 06:15:07 PM
I do not trust PayPal whatsoever and try to avoid using it as much as I can. Unfortunately, PayPal has a great marketshare in the e-commerce world. It's a shame Bitcoin has not been fully adopted yet and I think shopping online will become better as people learn more about the currency and what Blockchain is capable of.
302  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buying Bitcoin on: February 23, 2016, 05:02:37 PM
You can also try the Currency exchange section of this forum but this place is filled with scammers. It's best to use LocalBitcoin. I have never had a problem trading there.
303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Get money by posting WITHOUT signature campaigns on: February 23, 2016, 04:58:26 PM
I still don't understand why people waste their time with faucets. You make no money. They're difficult to bot and the pay is next to nothing.
304  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Shop which accepts BTC on: February 23, 2016, 04:53:51 PM
There are a few restaurants, dispensaries and computer recycling societies that accept Bitcoin. People where I live still don't totally trust it.
305  Other / Off-topic / Re: When is it useful to borrow bitcoin? on: February 23, 2016, 04:51:37 PM
Probably borrow bitcoins before the halving, let the halving double its bitcoin price then before the price go down sell it. Since you have to pay in bitcoin as well, buy bitcoins once the price settled down.
That is actually not a bad idea. The question now is where to borrow the Bitcoin. BTCJam does not honor Bitcoin's volatility.
306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Understanding Bitcoin unit divisions. on: February 23, 2016, 04:44:55 PM
Bitcoin is a computer, thing, and it's always good to have a good mathematical ability to understand the units. That's my experience. I never needed help understanding the units.
307  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitSurveys.com - Get free Bitcoin - Better than any faucet! on: February 22, 2016, 04:32:06 PM
I did not even read the OP. This seems a lot like bitcoinget.com, which is a site for newbies. If I were to use GPT sites in the future I would make my own.
308  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Which Wallet Do you Use ??? on: February 22, 2016, 04:01:02 AM
I use Blockchain.info on my tablet and Bitcoin Core on my Mac. I do not have a wallet on my PC laptop.
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Shopping for a mining/gaming rig on: February 22, 2016, 03:34:32 AM
I am considering in the near future to buy a  top of the line computer from Newegg for the purpose of mining altcoins. I have two questions: Are there any preconfigured models that will get the job done and what coin should I mine? As it stands right now I have access to free electricity though I may have to move and my circumstances may change. Intel or AMD? nVidia or ATI? Also, what altcoin is the easiest to mine with the highest ROI? Thanks in advance.
310  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Android client for the bitcointalk.org forum on: February 22, 2016, 03:05:13 AM
I might own a newbie account with a desirable username. If I loose the password, I will know it's malware.
311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction not yet confirmed!! on: February 21, 2016, 09:24:20 PM
It's best not to be cheap and send coins without the fee. That's how miners make their money. Fees  are not that much anyway, like, less the 10 cents?
312  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Android client for the bitcointalk.org forum on: February 21, 2016, 07:08:43 PM
I didn't know such an app even existed. I am probably not going to use yours. You're a newbie and it may be a keylogger. I don't know how safe the program is. I prefer Tapatalk over all other apps.
313  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: February 21, 2016, 03:57:34 AM
I'm kind of actually doing both at the same time, I'm saving my Bitcoins, but Bitcoin in itself is still a new technology. Either way it's good for both purposes.
314  Economy / Services / Re: Web Hosting for 0.02[btc] / year on: February 21, 2016, 02:57:07 AM
PM admin panel seems sketchy to me. There are free web providers out there like Red Hat's openshift. They mayc not have the same features  but BTC0.02[/btc] to me seems almost too good to not have a catch.
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: February 21, 2016, 02:50:28 AM
I agree that lack of adaptation is the primary problem with Bitcoin at the moment. While the adaptation of computers and technology is now pretty common, it is not to the point where people can completely comprehend Bitcoin. The main complaint I hear from my peers IRL is insecurity and it's volatility. Hopefully with the new consensus that will change.
316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The applications of Bitcoin on: February 21, 2016, 02:44:40 AM
As most people on this forum know, Bitcoin, and the technology it runs on, Blockchain, is capable of doing a lot of things. To the layman, Bitcoin is like shares; you buy when the price is high and sell when the price is low. BBitcoin can be used to verify identities, send money across the world, securely store money in a place cheaper than a bank and the list goes on. As we see consensus  in Hong Kong, 2016 may very well be the year of Bitcoin.

What do you use the currency for?
317  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: storage in btc or fiat? on: February 20, 2016, 06:21:20 PM
I am not the kind of person who buys Bitcoin and store them in fiat currency. I am the type that tries to earn his Bitcoin by signature campaigns or the odd programming job I get. Bitcoin is going to really take off, and everyone here will be rich. It happened once before the Mt. Gox fiasco but Bitcoin is recovering.
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Going UP! on: February 20, 2016, 06:13:26 PM
This is going to be a good summer for all of us Bitcoiners on this forum. Buy now before halving!
319  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: February 19, 2016, 04:48:17 PM
I would prefer to store my assets in Bitcoin rather than a bank. Banks always charge a lot of fees and come with problems such as charge backs. Banks are afraid of Bitcoin because the technology could put them out of business
320  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it time to sell? on: February 19, 2016, 04:44:54 PM
I would say wait until halving. By then the price would really jump.
