This just proves the value of mining with a quality pool like Eligius Cheesy

+1 Grin yep!! and quality pool op's like WK Wink
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [CLOSING DOWN] ScryptGuild Auto-Switching Pool on: July 30, 2014, 12:13:01 AM
Ah thanks for the heads up man. I did do a bit of reading and was picking up on that from previous questions.

I've really enjoyed using the pool. I've been checking loads of others out and they're difficult to get into. Plus when you start mining it doesn't seem like you're connection with their servers is a quick.

When I was mining on the pool I was doing it with this as well...

http://minellium-falcon.tumblr.com/

A 1978 Millennium Falcon turned into a mining rig.

Best of luck with the new project man.

Thats so dope, I bet she hashes at about 256kh/s scrypt and some BTC as well probably huh. so Cute was that a 200 USD rig? or 190 + the Mfalcon musht have cost a penny.

That rig also looks like its heat just sat around and made more heat. hate to say i got 30X that running on a single ac unit, I think i jumped in at a great time though.

I also just happend to Nail on the Dime getting out of scrypt guild, i have been raiding redd coin pools and realized that SG is my failover pool and i had 200k satoshis left in eles Cryptsy account. so guess ill have to pull up BFG miner and Change my Zeus miners to a different fail over after REDD coin goes down.  I guess Thanks Ele for the Solid pool, i was a little dissapointed after being told about a rewrite and a new coin list. your pool has responded the best to my miners/situation. I appreciate that, I hope we can work together again someday. Maybe if you let us SG members in on your new little secrete thats goign to out do scrypt mining... anyway. *in some tears Bye  Cry

Actually around 335kh/s at 850 freq. I only got the Gridseed because it fits well into the Falc. It was my original from when I was a kid that was pretty much destroyed so got some missing parts off ebay pretty cheap and got her rigged up. Have another one in a box at home but is nowhere near as satisfying as this.

I thought it might open up Bitcoin to a new audience. The parallels are infinite. The rebel alliance taking on the dark Empire... The Falc being a smuggler ship. I've just started up on TradeMyBit pool and it seems to be the next best thing to SG. I've been getting requests to do a Slave I version which might well work as well...

Glad you enjoyed man. Feel free to donate to the cause...

May the Bit be with you.

i've just started on cleverming pool...but as i'm new to ltc mining, i really dunno what would be the best pool to goto...guess i'll just hop around til i find one i like...
306  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: July 29, 2014, 11:19:19 PM
Normaly just mine with 3-5x S1 ants and buy new as i resell them, but bought a bigger stack of miners than normal so time to setup a shelf i guess Smiley

First layer of unboxing done:

Scavenged some psu's off old servers in my storage unit:

The 12x 310gh/s will generate around 3900w so need to figure out some cooling.
Got 2windows in my storage room so gone put up a shelf between them and play mcgyver with some ducttape/duct/fans.

Just need to figure out how much air i need to move...
dayum...why didn't ya just get a cheap attic heat exhaust fan like me? 1300cfm should be nuff to vent the heat of those cards...it's handling 4kw heat for me Grin How loud is that thing?
Looking at the webpages of varius stores in my area they all sell the same exhaust fans that are 95m3h (3354cfh) so only 56cfm at 15$.
i am guessing that funeling 2 miners (620watt) into a fan each would be a drop in the sea? 336cfm total.

edit:
Best ive found sofar is a 10" 72watt 2300rpm, rated 800m3, 2 of them would give 941cfm.
not too bad pricewise at 30$ each.

good luck with that...hell i'd just try a walmart special fan in the window...like the big ones...not a box fan and point the miners towards it Grin and see how it handles it...course depending on where ya live...or maybe buy 2 hehe and get a wind tunnel going Smiley
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My pool experience with cloud zenminer dot com on: July 29, 2014, 11:06:46 PM
I'm also wondering, what's it in for them

Where do they earn money?

Well do you mean the pool's like nicehash, coinking etc or do you mean  gawminers/zencloud?

The pools charge fees.

Gawminers gets your payment for the gear then after the free hosting they get a hosting fee.

ZenCloud must have a contract with both the pool and with gawminers ---  just a guess don't really know.

I mean about ZenCloud

yeah, I know about their fee

but the fee is supposed to cover their electricity costs, and the gear isn't expensive

it seems like they're doing charity

I mean I don't mind Cheesy

ya it isn't expensive anymore cause nobody is buying it anymore Tongue plus it probably didn't cost anywhere near what they are selling them for to make them...

@philip my 2nd day was also .030 btc too...yes i have switched to nicehash this morning and the expected payout went to .037 vs the .030 it was at...but ya still no way of knowing if they are taking the hosting fee out right now...i guess i'll just have to wait 30 days n see if it drops...course with the amount it makes a day dropping as well that might be hard as well...oh well .06 btc made for 2 days off the 2.08 it costed...so 2.02 btc more to go Grin

EDIT: just looked at my zenportal estimated payout== .0422 btc Grin yep that is double...i'll take it

I am zero in 4 months with 6 TH of mining hash rate.

Kind of depressing lol Cry

Why depressing? You would be at zero if you were going at it solo...so you have your coin...nothing to be sad about :p
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 29, 2014, 12:31:34 PM

15.65 x 220v = 3443 /2 = 1721watts for each Neptune "At the wall"
pretty close for horseshoes and hand-gernades
3.4+ th/s  each, so 3400/1721 is 1.9+Gh/s per watt or .506 watt/Gh/s  ... "right out of the box"
Now who's "stoned"?  That's figuring at 3.4, and it's actually a bit better, as you see here.
Your 2000 watt .57watt/gh/s sounds like you may have power delivery problems to me, I can't be that "lucky"

Nice.. One comment on the VRM temps.. 85C is the max temp rating from Ericsson and given that they also get driven 10A above spec from the factory I'd recommend trying to get those temps a bit lower. Not that you plan to run them forever, but 20C over temp and 10A over current might burn them up in a few months. Some look like they are getting close to the destructive limit (125c I think).

General update for those following RMA activity: After weeks of waiting I finally received the two cubes today that I had to RMA. I hope to get them setup tomorrow.. And I hope they work. I was told my "RMA has been fixed," but I put a small X on each of them and the boxes I got back are unmarked. Most likely they are not the cubes I sent them.

Quick timeline, minus several follow ups via email and phone:
7/2 - issue reported with 2 cubes and controller card
7/8 - RMA authorized, shipping label issued
7/8 - RMA dispatched
7/21 - replacement controller card received
7/28 - 2 cubes received

Well ya this is knc member? They probably just threw it in a big bin with a the rest of the crap that doesn't work...wait 2 weeks so you get screwed outta more downtime while protecting their Dc...Then finally send you another untested unit...got a 50/50 chance it'll work...so you feeling lucky punk? Hehe
310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My pool experience with cloud zenminer dot com on: July 29, 2014, 10:52:30 AM
hmm your falcon got you .022btc and my war machine gets .03btc a day...shouldn't mine be closer to double what you make? and really right now how do i know they aren't taking out hosting fee? i have no idea what it is suppose to make a day or what it is actually making Sad you on clever for your pool?
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: July 29, 2014, 03:35:23 AM
I switched to clever from wemineltc...why is there so many more HW error here then at wemine? have 3 blades and at wemine was getting about .78% rejected for 7 days mining there...and here i'm getting 7.5% for 2 days mining Sad I like this pool but to go from .78% to 7.5% is a pretty big jump...any thoughts on this? I have the diff rate for the blades set at 256 and they are doing 20mh/s all together...but the funny thing is i also have a zeus thunder and was getting around 5% on wemine and getting 5% here...so that makes no sense...unless this pool doesn't like bfgminer...but i don't know what mining software the zeus uses...also have 2 bw's and on wemine was getting 5% and on here 6%...not a real big deal there...just like to know why the blades are so bad? maybe i'll have to just stick those on a diff pool Sad

i just wish i knew a stable hashrate for all these units...on wemineltc it went up n down from 70mh/s to 90mh/s which was hard to guess...i think the 2day avg. said 80mh/s and which is what clever is reporting for my hashrate as well...oh well if i make more on here then i did ltc mining i guess i'll just stay here Grin
312  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WANTED: I need a Neptune or Jupiter Controller board. on: July 29, 2014, 01:23:38 AM
Hello, I am looking for a controller board for a Neptune. Mine stopped working after a few weeks. Does anyone have one to sell me? I am in South Florida. Delray Beach.  Thanks!

Or would you know why in the backend of the Neptune. It says STOPPED ?  I tried everything to start the miner up including replacing and flashing the Beagle Bone Black. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again. Please email me at Donald@crjewelers.com

did ya msg knc about it? no warrenty on the controller card? are you using a jup. controller card to get the nep working now?

I did. I have not received an RMA and it seems like it would take a long time so I am trying to buy one so I can get up and running faster while I wait. I do not have a Jupiter. I am dead in the water.   :-(

Thanks for your reply.

yw you sure you flashes it right? those controllers are very picky...can you ssh into it?

Yes I can. When I typed screen -r it said something like no prior screen to view. I tried typing cgminer and only get a flash and nothing. Flashing: I saw the different versions of the software on the backend after flashing so it seemed like the flash worked. It always showed STOPPED in the back end. Nothing so far I was able to do to get the miners hashing. Ideas?

you sure there is a problem with your backend and not the boxes? psu's all good? did ya try 1 cube? different ribbin cables? could always just try to put your own copy of cgminer on there to see if it'll work...did ya try to flash the original fw back on it? or maybe you should ask tolip_wen...he is good at trouble shooting software i think...or try the jupiter oc'in thread as well

and if ya still shutdown, will all our alt coins be converted? i got some that aren't being converted...been a few days now

I keep the warehouse at 88F.  My 15,000cfm blower is going in tuesday to remove the heat.  I actually have 60 tons of AC already installed but I don't turn them on because they use too much power.  I use 1 AC unit to keep the building at 88F during the day.

What kind of blower is that?

Any idea of how much KW it might be able to cool?

Well I am using a Helios KRD 500 wich pulls around 5650cfm and "drains" my pocket with 1,72kW so you do the math.

My fan is more than enough to cool 100 ATI Radeon 280X/290 cards on SCrypt, I can bet it can cool twice that, if I had better air ducts (im using a 50x50 air duct and a adapter)

dayum...why didn't ya just get a cheap attic heat exhaust fan like me? 1300cfm should be nuff to vent the heat of those cards...it's handling 4kw heat for me Grin How loud is that thing?

are nmc merged mining proceeds lost if not associated with a btc address?
I cannot sign a message because of my mining settings. am I out of luck on any nmc?

yes you need to be able to sign a msg to change the settings...no way around that...why can't you sign a msg with your btc addy? I wouldn't be using an online site for your coins...to many raw deals happen that way Smiley i only trust something that i can control fully with my money Wink

@biodom...everything fine on my end...had cpl miners lose the pool but they come back fast nuff...no biggie...maybe another ddos attack?
319  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Do you see any problems with this shed design? on: July 28, 2014, 01:16:13 AM
well, i'm venting about 3-4kw out my basement with a 1300cfm attic heat exhaust fan Smiley works great...you could just use that for your exhaust side...course it is about 14'' big...but that should vent the heat and provide suction for the intake as well since if i have the basement windows closed it sucks air from upstairs thur the bottom of the door...and not just a light breeze either...it is amazing what ya can do with high cfm fans Wink well good luck on your project

Looks like Home Depot has something like that for about $84.

Thanks for the info  Cool

yep, got mine at fleet farm for 64 bucks...heck i bet it would create so much suction from intake i bet all ya would need is a open window or a hole on the bottom for cool air intake...maybe some box fans pointed like \ to get it to spread up...idk i'm sure you'll have no trouble venting the heat with that fan thou Smiley its made for a 2000sq ft attic so i don't see why it shouldn't do great clearing out a small shed Smiley
