301  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN @ $20,000 A PIECE BEFORE 2017 ENDS? on: December 16, 2017, 04:22:40 PM
We are most likely going to be seeing this price and already bitcoin is heading towards $19,000 and with its growth rate of almost $500 each day and we consider corrections that occur during these 2weeks before the end of the year, we are pretty much going to to a high price than $20k
302  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: December 16, 2017, 02:47:38 PM
I just always wonder if those billionaires still invest in btc. Do they even know btc exist?
To remain a billionaire you need to find ways to grow your money and diversifying your investments into several different portfolios is one way to protect and grow your money which includes bitcoin, and bitcoin already making news headlines almost on a daily basis these billionaires certainly know about btc and are investing in bitcoin and other several other crypto-projects.
303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Total crypto market is now worth HALF A TRILLION dollars on: December 14, 2017, 07:50:37 PM
The amazing thing is we started 2017 off at 17.7 billion. What a great year!

https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/20170101/
The crypto market is really gaining traction and already it looks like its racing to 600 billion dollars, its high time every one putting a blind eye on cryptocurrencies takes time to read and learn about this technology so that addo[tion happens quickly and we push for a trillion dollar milestone.
BTC to break $300B cap. This just took the cryptocurrency market to an astonishing $500B!

it is fake number because changing wallets.

all this repeated market cup numbers from site to other
does changing wallets really affect this number Roll Eyes check coinmarketcap.com for these numbers
304  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Blockchain.info reliable? on: December 14, 2017, 07:15:04 PM
Its quite reliable probably the reason why its among the widely used wallets but when you read articles like this one https://cointelegraph.com/news/major-wallet-vulnerability-revealed-as-user-barely-reclaims-9-btc it puts some fear in its users just hope the  Blockchain.info dev team do something to protect its users and new update already rolled out Smiley
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coins to put 5 000 USD into? on: December 14, 2017, 06:48:19 PM
Hello friends,
how would you allocate 5000 USD among several top 50 coins?
Interested in coins with certain upcoming developments, that have a decent team and following.
I think when we talk of investing, we should be ready to risk a bit and I think new coins that are not yet among the top 50 could be profitable to invest in in the long run and I have some coins I am looking forward to owning like hdac, indahash, ins and more.
I already hold some BTC/ETH, so any suggestions on any other coins? Smiley
Thank you! Smiley
You pretty much have a good start with these two if you still considering the top 50 you could add dash to your list.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indonesian Government Banned Bitcoin on: December 13, 2017, 09:25:03 PM
I am Indonesian, after about 6 years living with bitcoin life, mining, trading and join bitcoin community, from mining and trading i got more income and others benefit but what  happen now? bank central of indonesia will ban bitcoin, Fucking stupid  Indonesian government

https://news.bitcoin.com/indonesia-media-urge-bitcoiners-to-cash-in-ahead-of-coming-crypto-ban/?utm_source=OneSignal%20Push&utm_medium=notification&utm_campaign=Push%20Notifications
I can only imagine how much time you have invested in cryptos and all the knowledge you have attained that can be passed on to others, this really is a blow to the crypto community in indonesia and the crypto world as a whole as this should have been used as a platform for financial litercy. From the article it sounds like digital currencies are extensively used in Indonesian such that the governor says the ban is done to maintain the sovereignty of the rupiah as legal tender  Roll Eyes but afaik btc is in this equation as a supplementary.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to money if exchange gets hacked? on: December 13, 2017, 03:32:12 PM
Regarding Nicehash hack and losing some BTC i have some money on exchanges, real money not USDT nor coins. Real EUR and US.
If exchange gets hacked is it possible for hacker to steal real money easy as they could steal coins?

Real money(fiat) is definately easier to steal of the two but one problem that comes with fiat is it will always leave a money trail and the owners of money could easily request for their money through their bank who would chargeback this transfer as its unauthrorized, and as for crypto coins maybe back then it was easier as cold storage, muti sig,2fa and all other secondary security measures werent common but now with this security its easy to avoid losing money in this kind of a manner.
308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I too late to join the party? on: December 12, 2017, 06:48:43 PM
If you have 10000$. It's better to buy ethereum.
Other than ethereum you could look into dash which is starting to go mainstraim as it becoming the prefered crypto for some services

2018 is the year of ethereum Smiley
We are not far from 2018 and so far so good most altcoins all seem to be in the green

Buying bitcoin next year wont give you alot of profit. It might increase in value but not twice its base.
Best of luck
Bitcoin is unpredictable, who knew we could see 17 grand in december...sometimess we just need to go with our gut feeling when we want to invest and for me bitcoin is still on my to bucket list
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC above 150 USD in February 2018? on: December 12, 2017, 09:50:30 AM
It is above 100 USD and keeping it there. I would like to believe that my posts have something to do with it.
I guess you really have our attention Cheesy but on a serious note the reason LTC is suddenly gaining momentum is because bitcoin users are trying to find alternatives that will make it easy and faster to send payments and LTC happens to be the coin, nothing magical here.

I had a little amount I bought at 50 USD and then I bought some more at 103 USD Smiley Now I think it will be 150 in February 2018.
Maybe investment more to show us how much you believe in LTC

LTC above 150 USD in February 2018?
If ltc demand keeps up, we shall see it trade this much.
310  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoins goal to end governments? on: December 12, 2017, 06:32:51 AM
I have seen many people say that Bitcoin will end governments.
Lol this sounds political to me, as far as I know, bitcoin has no intention of ending any government whatsoever. Bitcoin is about financial freedom and a way to cut down on unnecessary fees by removing middlemen, and the alike.
Quote
But do we really want that?
I think most counties today are based on democracy and which i think is true and fun fact we the people are actually the government.

311  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I found that many virtual currencies are falling in these days. Is this a normal on: December 11, 2017, 08:54:53 AM
I am a newbie and have just come to this area. I bought some virtual currency, but these days they are falling, probably I do not have enough experience, this situation is very puzzled. I do not know if this is normal or not. I hope so.
Besides the holidays which could lead people cashing in their cryptocoins for fiat, this could be caused by a powerful bitcoin which has lead to a fallof these other virtual currencies.

Why did such a collective fall come about?
As others have already said holiday seasons are usually shopping times and people need money for this so they will sale their coins for cash.
I think I should know more about the blockchain so it's not easy to get puzzled in the deal. I have purchased some books on this subject and I will read them carefully and I think it is a very good way of understanding the virtual currency.
Is there any way I can better understand the virtual currency?
I will be very willing to learn, waiting for your answer, thank you!
Nothing beats the good old fashioned hands-on experience but if your books are effective enough in giving you the information you need, do share you experience just might help someone else out there.

313  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will crash one day? on: December 10, 2017, 11:13:17 PM
Do you think Bitcoin will crash one day?
By crash...you mean the end of bitcoin? Nah i don't think so, bitcoin has lots of support from people all over the world which can be seen from its rapid rise in value and as long as we have the devs and community to share ideas to keep bitcoin up and running, bitcoin still has a long way to go before this crash happens or the crash will never happen.
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best decentralised exchange? on: December 10, 2017, 10:10:31 PM
What are the best decentralised exchanges out there, and why are they good?

There is only one that I know about - etherdelta.com. It is good because of trading directly to/from your wallet to another user's wallet. There is no middleman who can be unfair.
Currently, i think etherdelta remains one of the best decentralised exchanges around and it's among the few exchanges you can get some cheap coins as its a hotspot for dumpers.

Do you know decentralized ETH exchange other than EtherDelta and Idex?
Currently is foo expensive to sell on EtherDelta - you need to pay $3 to deposit tokens, $3 to sold tokens and $3 to withdraw ETH.
Another decentralized exchange, Idex....never heard of them checking them out now out just hope I won't be disappointed with there services.
315  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin Volatility A Bad Thing? on: December 10, 2017, 08:44:43 PM
Steam dropped bitcoin support citing "high volatility" as a motive.
-snip-
Probably the high transaction fees made it easy for steam to drop btc support.

Quote
Is Bitcoin Volatility A Bad Thing?
As far as I know the crypto world has all sorts of users and volatility might be good for some people and bad to others but imo I think if will want mainstream adoption of bitcoin volatility will be a turn off unless it gets to stabilize, but hey what can i say bitcoin has more investor minded users so volatility is good to keep the community alive.
316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 10, 2017, 08:13:56 PM
I'm an United fan.
But, I don't think they'll win today... It'll be either 0:0 or City will easily win.
Utd pretty sure will play like the game with Arsenal. But this City, so yea.
Good to see an honest United fan around here and a draw would have been the best result for the boys but it wasnt just meant to be. I knew this game was going to end in Manchester Citys favour when Pogba one of United best players at the moment received a red card against Arsenals Héctor Bellerín the other week leaving todays team incomplete. I would say Utd did try their level best and the result comes as no surprise as City was expected to win.
-snip-

Meanwhile, Manchester City already has the new record of 14 consecutive wins!
Am starting to think City might drop points but not lose a game in the league, ouch.
317  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: $62 Million In Bitcoin Stolen from Largest Crypto-Mining Exchange on: December 10, 2017, 08:44:25 AM
With Nicehash currently down does this take away the available miners that would have contributed in the mining of bitcoin?

As far as investigations are concerned Reuters says attackers might not have being from the EU region and attack was carried out by using the credentials of a NiceHash engineer https://www.reuters.com/article/us-cyber-nicehash/nicehash-says-attacked-probably-from-non-eu-ip-address-idUSKBN1E21Q7
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin now slowly drop should i sell? on: December 09, 2017, 09:51:20 PM
Bitcoin now drop for a while should I sell this or hold what should I do?
I have huge btc in my wallet.
Please share your opinion about this.
It was expected that the price will drop while the market stabilises but selling all your bitcoins wouldn't be the right call just yet because bitcoin just started to make the A-list as the best or most sought after investment asset of this era and we should expect even more investors to come in...if you are in urgent need of fiat you can sell some and hold what remains.
319  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think bitcoin ever be safe for any investment ? on: December 09, 2017, 08:40:10 PM
OP is right, our governments need to take keen interest in the affairs of its citizens who use bitcoin and other blockchain projects as they could try to draw up some framework to help them go about crypto investments and the alike but unfortunately bitcoin being decentralized this could fall on deaf ears.
Quote
Do you think bitcoin ever be safe for any investment ?
I do not think so, bitcoin is a high risk investment can never be safe!
320  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does dollar value affect bitcoin value? on: December 09, 2017, 08:01:01 PM
I think the dollar does affect bitcoin value but certainly not in a direct way. IMO this could happen based on demand of bitcoin being present and if for example an economy  is underperforming and say there is inflation it means people will be paid more money(more dollars) and if they decide to invest their money in bitcoin it means they have access to more bitcoins which in return pushes the value higher.
