To me, waves has no advantage over Ethereum by far. However, waves does have some edge over some other similar projects, which will keep it in the game for a long time.

A lot of blockchain projects will not be successful by just combing the traditional business with blockchain tech. A lot of good-performing projects are mostly due to hype rather than intrisinic values.

I would say 50% or lower is reasonable, but something like 100% bonus definitely looks scammy. For example, Filecoin's early bonus is really crazy and is not well designed.

The ico of the golem project occured long time ago, and it is not reasonable for golem's team to airdrop their tokens by any means.
