Back to scrypt for a moment, what do people think of TagCoin?
put all these up for mining, they give us interest on all deposits including btc interest Tongue

O and thanks for fixing NVC for me   Grin
I'm pretty sure we already mine all the mcxnow scrypt coins.  DVC merged mining is coming soon.
Missing quite a few:
PrimeCoin - XPM
CopperLark -  CLR
Solidcoin - SBC
Devcoin - DVC
also glade you plain on moving btc off the MP rotation Tongue Also also , might as well add all the merged mining coins to the mix not just DVC,NMC anyone? And the other dozen or so merged mining coins i cant think of.
Keep it up work .. Smiley might just add more gh/s this way Smiley
SolidCoin is not a real coin. It's a RealSolid creation and I believe the only place it exists is on mcxNOW. I don't even think it can be mined.
XPM can only be CPU mined now. I have 9 CPUs mining XPM 24x7 and I make just over 2 XPM per day. Maybe if and when there's a bona fide GPU miner for XPM.
CopperLark is a flakey SHA-3 coin that can only be mined with a special edition of Reaper. Who needs it.
DevCoin will be merged mined, as flound has said several times.

Let's focus on coins that can actually make a miner money. If I want mcxNOW BTC interest I sell my coins at BTC-e or Cryptsy and transfer them. No biggie.

And I agree, flound's doing a great job. His next problem might be dealing with the heavy sha-256 traffic to come  Grin

Help page has been updated with P2Pool info.  Please read!

https://www.multipool.us/help.php
I think you answered this somewhere in the last 185 pages but it might be nice to add to Help since I can't remember the answer. Your Profitability values differ from CoinWarz and CoinChoose because I think you account for stales and rejects. Is that right?

The Help page looks complete.

"Q: Do we pay extra fees to mine via P2Pool?
A: Multipool currently donates 0.5% of mining profits to the P2Pool authors."

I interpret this to mean miners pay 1.5% + 0.5% = 2.0% when mining BTC. Is that right?

Not The Copper Lark and PrimeCoin.

How about the coins that are often seen at the top of the profitability list and have good trading volume: http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency

It'd be nice if the block confirms were a count down instead of a count up since it does not say what done is.

No, every miner has their own name.

Is that a block or a share in a block  Huh

Which port is your pool zero???
Read the last two pages and the home page. flound has patched us into p2pool BTC!!!
Keep yer pants on, payouts gonna git regular  Grin

pool1.us.multipool.us:8888

It started hashing again, and is now back to "requested work update" -- did an "increasing queue minimum to 3" a bit ago as well.  Do I need to reconfigure anything in my command line?

I'm trying to force it to lower the share difficulty..  It's giving my BFL little single a diff of ~430 which is way too high.
Yikes  Shocked
It's giving my Block Eruptors diff 639!!!  Diff = 1 would be best. Not accepting any work, every other line is stratum requested work restart.

My BFL Singles are getting 482 to 639 and it changes frequently, which is fine.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: November 06, 2013, 12:01:05 AM
Stratum from Pool 0 requested work update.  (over and over)

Pool 0 is hiding block contents from us.

Staged work underrun; increasing queue minimum to 2.

Running bfgminer, and not getting anywhere with the block erupters any more (green solid lights).  No hashrate showing on multipool.us home page.

We have plenty of hash for NVC and FTC, but I will consider it.
I recommend running for a week or so with BTC and maybe LTC before considering NVC. I can't see any benefit for FTC.

So, I saw your home page note that P2Pool is live for BTC. So does that mean port 3332 goes away and we only hash for BTC when MP rotates to it?
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: November 05, 2013, 03:33:57 AM
You've really put some thought into this. Sounds good!

Glad you've figured out a way to save the sha-256 multiport  Grin

I'm fairly close to having the BTC port connected to p2pool.  All I need to do is learn Ruby real quick Smiley
If you port to another pool before we find a block then what happens to our Round Shares Shocked Huh

Why p2pool? Bitminter is much bigger and much more consistent. See figure 6 http://organofcorti.blogspot.ca/

I think this is a really good idea. Clearly we just don't have enough muscle go it alone yet.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: October 27, 2013, 09:53:04 PM
Those of us who were testing the PPC pool aren't being credited the shares that were submitted before the problem was fixed and it was added to the multipool? So I wasted my hashes for about 24 hours on that coin?
I got my shares from the test. PPC has a really high confirmation requirement and it's going to be awhile before the first block is paid.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: October 27, 2013, 05:56:50 PM
I thought it would be on BTC more than 90%.
I sure am glad we have a SHA-256 MultiPort to eke out some more mining profits.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: October 27, 2013, 02:01:04 PM
Over 200 hours or over 7 days for a BTC block.
Really... There is to much competition for BTC pools, the only winners are DDOS company's.
Bitminter as black lotus
This pool as Incapsula
Etc...
The only time this pool as had ddos attack seems to be when it became a BTC pool.
So is it worth it?
EDIT: Is it worth having a BTC pool?
A SHA256 multipool without BTC would be pointless as BTC is most profitable over 90% of the time. The pool needs more hash rate to work but at 1.5% fee it doesn't compete with some others that already have much larger has rates.
So much for the 90%-myth. Last 24 hours: BTC 55.8%, PPC 22.9%, TRC 11%, FRC 5.7% and ZET 4.6%.

314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: October 26, 2013, 06:00:53 PM
Its unbelievable to me that multipool has yet to return anything on Bitcoin, does it really take this long to find a block?

Yes, it does.  We just passed through the bitcoin difficulty yesterday, which means we are now officially having "bad luck" on this block.  It's not uncommon to take 2-3x the average to find a block.

It's not a pool issue, I check the debug.log every day for block submits.  There haven't been any.

Submitted shares are at ~114% of BTC difficulty right now.

Alright, I believe you.  Its just torture to see all the per-block balance, have you thought about lowering the fee you take on the first BTC block?  It's been so long I've been thinking about just mining BTC on a different pool, I'm not trying to make a threat I'm just saying I feel that way with my little rig so I'm sure the guys with the big rigs are feeling that way too and I have to believe its in the best interest of the pool to keep them around.
I make my living mining and I sure was hoping to hit that first BTC block in time to sell for $200 per BTC. But the reality of mining is shown in the "luck graphs" for every coin. I've felt this way several times about LTC. But then all of a sudden the draught ends and we hit 4 or 5 blocks in short order and get paid above average. The same will happen for BTC and I'm sticking to it. I'm really thrilled to have the SHA-256 MultiPort. Mining's a grind and I think it's well worth the 1.5% to have scrypt and sha multiports!
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Profit-switching scrypt+ASIC Pool] multipool.us on: October 26, 2013, 05:52:39 PM
I think it would be best to stop people mining individual sha-256 coins.  So all the horse power goes to the most profitable coins, plus this would help BTC horse power.
I totally disagree. It's to everyone's advantage to have some base-load on every coin. If MultiPort switches to and then off that coin one inevitably has unpaid and/or unconfirmed shares left behind. Base-load miners help get those shares paid out even when MultiPort is elsewhere.

Also, why restrict people's preferences? Adding limitations will just drive them away. People have different reasons for mining a particular coin so I hope they retain the freedom to choose.

Are there any NBL mining pools in operation  Huh

NEW NBL Mining Pool with DDoS protection: http://nbl.pro-tech.bz.it

Easy stratum connect:
  • stratum+tcp://pro-tech.bz.it:3337
  • cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pro-tech.bz.it:3337 -u username -p password -I 9

This pool is dead and gone  Huh

http://stratum+tcp://yourdomain.com:3333

Pool is now running on newer and better software and is now actively mining NibbleCoins again.

Users of the previous site will have to sign up again, unfortunately.

Thanks for mining with us,

CaptainAK
I registered today but I cannot mine. Getting Started says to point to stratum+tcp://yourdomain.com:3333.
I tried stratum+tcp://nbl.pnwminer.com:3333 but nothing.
What's the correct address  Huh
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM]unofficial jhPrimeminer thread on: October 22, 2013, 07:10:27 PM
I've been mining at yPool with jhPrimeminer-T11.8-AVX.exe. Don't recall where or why, maybe just first I found when I wanted to try XPM mining.
Is jhPrimeMiner_RdBBeta3.zip the best XPM miner to use now  Huh

(Edit: Is primeminer_v06_rc2_x86_and_x64.zip the XPM miner now? I think this is Xolominer for the beer joint.)

No one mining at the pool?
phs.minar.cc
I'm mining PHS in your pool.
I'm trying to understand PHS.
What is PoS and being paid interest? Do I have to leave coins in wallet? Does the pool earn interest?
What about double payout for first 5 days. Is that solo mining or the pool, or was that 5 days a year ago?
