There is already a fix for this. Read iasenko's reply a few posts above yours. With Piggy's notification bot you get notifications via telegram or in a thread you created on the forum every time someone quotes your post or mentions your name like I just did above.
Can't it just be implemented inside forum code? May be have separate tab for quotes like 'alert' or something. It will make things easier. I don't think Theymos have the time for this, he has already quite long to-do list and this is probably somewhere in the bottom of it. That's why the community is trying to help him with project like this, like BPIP, etc.. We have to help eachother, and we are doing it quite well I think |

Just some small correction > Marlboroza want to be excluded from D2 , not only D1. That was his request from day 1 in his thread, because he removed himself from the DT1 by deleting his trust list. So keeping him in your trust lists is against his will. Remove marlboroza (me, me) from DT2 I still have him in my trust list, tho. |

Isn't that related to the use of @ tagging? The plugin reports on the use of the quote feature in a post, and it doesn't require any extra posting. I'll try it out on one of my SMF forums, and see how it works.
You get notification if someone posts your username. Since the bot reads trough the "recent posts", if someone edit his post after he has posted it and add your name, you won't be notified. Otherwise, for posts like yourname, @yourname, "yourname", quoting you, etc. you will be notified. AFAIK if your username is in a hyperlink format, the bot cannot read trough links and you wont be notified for this input. |
