3001  Local / Anfänger und Hilfe / Re: Wallet Backup on: February 04, 2016, 09:45:13 AM
Hallo Leute,

Klares kommt drauf an.
3002  Other / Meta / Re: What's above Legendary? on: February 04, 2016, 08:19:21 AM

Why don't create a special forum section only for the legendary users instead create a new rank (for the moment) ? What do you think guys ?
I wonder why you never said this before this activity cycle Tongue

There is a strong urge to consider others mere pawns once you hit legendary Wink

Instead of piffling forum ranks, once you reach a beyond legendary level you should have a block named after your username and link to the wonderful transactions within it. Plus a ten per cent cut of its contents.

I doubt we can get consensus on this, you know bitcoin wide, beyond the forum, etc.

It would be nice if there was another rank (not sure why we don't have more of them). The community could give suggestions and later a poll could be run in order to vote for the best one. However, this was proposed at least once in recent times and theymos has stated that he would not add one (right now; IIRC).

I like "Addict" or maybe "Obsessed"
The move from Legendary towards Addict or Obsessed would be a downgrade then.
-snip-

There might be something to it for some though, but hasnt theymos said he likes "mytic" or "mystic" or something like that?

3004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good or bad that Core development is virtually controlled by one company? on: February 04, 2016, 08:10:38 AM
So Tor's development is driven by the US government? Just trying to understand your logic behind this.

TOR development is funded by the US government, but not necessarily driven by it. Unlike corporations, governments (at least in theory) are not created/structured to generate profit.

Governments esp. the US one have shown to have a great interest in compromising the ability of anyone to stay anonymous for the sake of law enforcement. Tor is a thorn in their eyes, while at the same time they need it.

Thanks for making my point though. Some core developers are funded by blockstream, but that does not mean the core development or the bitcoin development in general is driven by the company.
3005  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How I was scammed ...... on: February 04, 2016, 07:56:56 AM
well team viewer it's like a rootkit basically, he have the access to your device, even if it was not team viewer, is still very stupid to give control of your pc like this, with a wallet also...

Its not that powerful without an exploit. I dont think an exploit was used here either. From what I read my best guess what happened is that the attacker had some sort of script that works only with blockchain.info. Like a series of key presses that quickly create a TX when logged in. OP logged in, the attacker used the script to create a TX and the coins are gone. If they had a key logger and access to the files they could have attacked any local wallet. There would have been no need to convince the OP to create a new wallet with bc.i. The mere request of creating a specific wallet should have rung all the alarm bells though. A signed message can easily be created for proof of funds.
3006  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: February 04, 2016, 07:24:43 AM
Anyway, this has been off-topic enough (1 to 1.5 pages is long enough). Please get back on-topic, which is:
- Discussing signature campaigns
- Telling Shorena and me about signature campaign changes
- Telling Shorena and me about new signature campaigns

IMHO we are somewhat still discussing signature campaigns, their management and their implications for the forum (e.g. via spam) are directly related to the campaigns.

-snip-
In case ? are you now not able to read English ? To be honest i now feel pity on these mental abilities.Good Luck.
Yes, i know Carra23 but i don't think he is involved like before though.

Carra23 is - at the very least - one manager that heavily weeded out participants, same as ndnhc, zengryT, hilarious (was explicitly hired to manage and impove the low quality IIRC) and possibly others I forgot, like of course vervolioman. Good managers are hardly noticed, because everything runs without issue, which includes complaints about the participants to staff.
Not all managers are only after the quick cash, many are involved with the companies they campaign for and understand that its best for the company that their ads are below quality posts and not drivel.

Hi, guys
Im looking for translator from English to  German to translate our site: fancyhash.io and make thread about it on bittalk.

How much do you pay and what exactly do you want as thread, just create one or also maintain it?

if you have sent an address on PM 3+ months ago then use that instead.
How can I get an address from PM if I have no access to that account?.. Anyway I can't remember such a PM...

OK, let's wait...  Sad

p.s. that address (16Yr4vWg7zj8TLQ5pjZQLeKE7LtsSCASmm) has been posted a year ago.  Wink

Where did you post it? (link)
Sign the above message with it.
I missed it, see knightdk's reply below.

I doubt that roslinpl will accept him in the campaign betcoin.ag. When he sees his posts history for sure will say thank you. That was close and he would get permaban from yahoo.
To be honest the managing thing should be removed completely and everything must be done by a script.Moderators are there to handle the spam and the users will get fair chance.
-snip-

IMHO a manager should do the job so well that additional moderation for the participants by the staff is not needed.
3011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can somebody push this transaction? on: February 03, 2016, 02:35:35 PM
There is enough fees already.

Estimated Confirmation Time   Very Soon (High Priority)

No, size is 615 bytes, fees are only $0.04, should have been $0.07 i think.... might be wrong though

Recommended fee is 0.0001 BTC per thousand bytes so it is good.

Nope.

Code:
$ bitcoin-cli help estimatefee
estimatefee nblocks

Estimates the approximate fee per kilobyte
needed for a transaction to begin confirmation
within nblocks blocks.

3012  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 0.12 release on: February 03, 2016, 09:53:35 AM

the only thing you cant do with a purned node is help someone else to become a node, but thats not a requirement of a full node IMHO.

I'm running a full node over public WiFi, so I don't have any inbound connections. I suspect that prevents me from helping someone else to become a node.

Not necessarily, you create 8 outbound connections and one of them might go to a node that accepts inbound connections but is still syncing. As long as your node is not pruned you could help said node to sync up. Im not sure how the chances for that are though.
3013  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is there a way to not allow Electrum to display BTC when starting electrum? on: February 03, 2016, 09:36:38 AM
I have electrum on my laptop.  Now if someone was to start up my computer or click it, they can and thus see how many btc i have in my electrum wallet.  Is there a way to prevent this?

Bios/boot password, encrypted disk, user password and lock your screen (Win + L on both windows and most *nix systems) whenever you leave the laptop.

I believe they cannot send any btc to anyone right unless they have my electrum password?

Correct, unless you have set no password there either.

I'm the only one that uses my laptop but of course if something was to happen to it, or if someone had access to it, they could see how much btc i have right?

Yes, but if your protection scheme is a bad as you describe it, there are many more ways someone can harm you. If all it takes to install something is to start you laptop while you are on the loo and shut it down before you are back, someone "seeing" how much bitcoin you have is the least of your problems. Someone could easily get a copy of the wallet file and install a keylogger. Now they just wait and the bitcoin are no longer yours.
3014  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: DoubleBot.com - The only one place to double your BTC with a 100% guarantee. on: February 03, 2016, 09:30:55 AM
So? Can we call it a scam now? Does anyone still have hope that the "honest" snavy will return and continue to run the "profitable bot"?
3015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transaction on: February 03, 2016, 09:28:01 AM
The problem is not your TX, but the TX is depends on.

This one -> https://blockchain.info/de/tx/a4062b18bde640d9e0ee6dc3a742f0d2344e1a82f7c1a74b237d0c18b0d49a7e

it pays no fee, but you might get it confirmed if you rebroadcast it every ~30 minutes. You will need the raw transaction

3016  Other / Meta / Re: Libsecp256k1 post deleted ??? on: February 03, 2016, 06:45:22 AM
Very good graphics and easy to understand,   one thing i dont get is this Libsecp256k1  how can we verify transactions and blocks faster?  would that not mean a shorter blocktime?

I got the comment above deleted from a thread earlier, it was a genuine question, just curious why it would have been deleted?  Huh

anyone any ideas?

I assume you are talking about Lauda's thread[1]. My post for a correction on SigWit and full nodes was deleted as well and is quoted in the OP. Its apparently how Lauda runs the thread. Lauda's answer is here[2], tl;dr: Libsecp256k1 speed up will not make finding blocks faster, but verifying blocks and transactions faster. Blocktime will stay the same, but miners and full nodes will operate more efficient.

Yes, its capped at -9999, but master-P is not the only one, search for "Tf | Banned for mentioning theymo.s dox"

No, you are banned. You the person behind the computer, not only the account. The "whybanfox" account will be banned as soon as you create a single post that is not discussing your ban. Every other account you ever create will be banned as soon as someone finds a connection.

According to you, he is banned, forever, from here? and he will never be able to talk here?

If you need a specific rule to tell you not to post that way, then you aren't wanted here. And by you, I mean you. Not just one specific account, and yes I banned your other account too.
