I had been a fan of getting merit just recently and made some posts to earn some merits.
Please make posts if you have things to contribute and help.  Cool
3002  Other / Meta / Re: Embedding youtube videos on the forum. - why not? on: October 19, 2020, 01:19:56 PM
Like this:
Code:
[url=Youtube Video link][img]Image link[/img][/url]

If the url link is put inside the img link, it will not work.

If it is for privacy, I understand. But the truth is that it's a shame not to be able to embed the videos in the forum. You can do what you say but it's not the same.
Animated avatars are not allowed so it is logic to see videos are not allowed.

3004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feels like we are going ICO round 2 all over again on: October 19, 2020, 04:26:34 AM
After ICO the crypto market has IEO.

Now, it is all about DeFi. After DeFi, what will be a next one? CeFi as some people tried to spread the confusing term or a different term but with a very minor change from DeFi or CeFi. Do you think about any name for the future trend?

ICO - IEO
DeFi - CeFi - next ?

They are only names and you can forget about names as long as you can see the scam method is the same.
3005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Altcoins That Suddenly Make the Top 25 Marketcap List? on: October 18, 2020, 04:18:59 AM
If people are still confusing about it, I can give them an example with RealTract (RET).

In July 2019, RET jumped to the top 100 on coinmarketcap with its price was about $0.006240. Five months later, in December of 2019, its price fell to the hell about $0.000346. More than 18 times of loss. Today there is nearly zero volume.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/realtract/

You can see same losses or worse with DeFi tokens.
3006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stellar partners with USDC and jumps 10% on: October 18, 2020, 04:15:07 AM
They partnered long before the news was released. As the legendary investors said 'Buy the rumors, sell the news". It is the period for old altcoins after the hype with DeFi tokens are over.

DeFi tokens are shit but they were pumped to the Moon since July. Now, it is time for old altcoins and Stellar is the first skyrocketting old altcoin. I am waiting for more old altcoin skyrockets. My portfolio and me are waiting for news from other old altcoins.  Cool
3007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Altcoins That Suddenly Make the Top 25 Marketcap List? on: October 17, 2020, 03:51:45 AM
You should make questions about:

- Total supply: Check it from https://coinmarketcap.com/ or https://www.coingecko.com/en
- Current market price and their ICO/ IEO / crowdsale price: Higher or lower. If higher, how much higher the market price is?
- Look at the chart to see its trend and its volume

If a coin or a token has huge huge total supply it will be very normal to see it jumps to top 100 or top 50 on coinmarketcap ranking list because huge total supply x sudden rise of price (x5, x10) can help one coin join the top list.

Bad story is it won't last too long and you will see shit altcoins fall to the hell weeks or months later.
3008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Using Cardano as a hedge against Ethereum on: October 16, 2020, 09:13:39 PM
I started buying ADA just in case Ethereum 2.0 takes too much time to be implemented, which could impact ETH price. The most close competitor is Cardano, so I thought about building a hedge in ADA. In case ETH goes down, ADA could go up, as projects would move to the Cardano network.

However, I dont know how much, percent-wise, I should buy of ADA. Should I put 10% of the value of my ETH stash in ADA? Or 20%? How much would you recommend? This is for security purposes. I still believe ETH 2.0 will succeed.
Charts of ETH and ADA show ETH is much better than ADA (price, price and volume). Total trade volume of ETH is 20-fold of ADA volume. I don't think the ADA can help you to have better safety than ETH.

People are confusing coins will replace and take over position of Bitcoin and the same for ETH but believe me these coins will have their strong positions. Ethereum has good creator (Vitalik) and a good developers behind him.
3009  Other / Archival / Re: [Merit] Help newbies and those who have a little left to the next rank on: October 16, 2020, 03:29:26 AM
The story of a newbie

I registered on this site in February 2016. The rank up will then be through activities so that you can easily change your rank. I did too. But after a while I stopped coming online. I came back in June or July 2020. I logged in to the forum, some of my posts and messages were deleted and I saw the newbie location. And then I realized that now the position is formed based on my qualifications.

3010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My best investment strategy on: October 16, 2020, 03:10:35 AM
You say you are mixing up your portfolio but how did you do this?

From my perspective, portfolio diversification is good and it helps you to minimize risks of lose all your capital if you invest into only one coin and that coin lost 50% or 80% of its value in one day. My thought is you need to give about 50% of your portfolio for bitcoin, for the rest 50% you can split it into 2 parts. Part one for old altcoins/ tokens and their projects, developers are still actively. Part two for new coins or tokens that are risky and you can lose all capital for them. Part 1 and part 2 can be at 80% and 20%.

You can also increase the bitcoin in your portfolio to more than 50%.

3012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is DeFi over? then old coins revolution ? on: October 15, 2020, 01:38:37 AM
DeFi trend lost its momentum. Many scam projects were born and dead. Scam developers exited with codes of smart contracts.

Lately the Binance exchange launch their new Swap pool that can help them to maintain position in crypto market and help people save fees when moving their funds. If think of it further, this adaptation of Binance makes some newbies lost money because they are moving funds between different chains. The receiver party won't help them to recover funds if they make mistakes. It is newbies' fault because they don't notice on warning when withdraw or make deposit.
3013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: (XMR) Hits New All-Time High for Transactions Despite Bounty Contracts on: October 14, 2020, 07:50:05 AM
Wait is your take on this? Despite government's effort to crack down Monero with offers to 2 companies already to developed a tool to break Monero's anonymity, traders are continuing to use it. Is Monero really that thing for this private focus individuals? Or will they move out once the tools could be developed in the next 8 months?
What governments can do if they can break anonymity of Monero transactions? I think not all Monero users will get troubles and how long of cash flow governments will use to lift the hammer on people who have flow of capital relates with bad Monero addresses.

I mean one person can do money laundering but later on the money flow will not stop, it keep running and many people will be connected with initial bad trades.
3014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China's digital yuan vs US dollar on: October 13, 2020, 12:44:40 PM
The bank system is a shit system and it will be bailed out soon. In dictative communism nations like China, local bank system is controlled by governments and they can do anything they want. They can print unlimited paper fiat (yuan) and they can mint unlimited digital yuan.

Just a change from old system to digitalized system. The centralization won't be changed by digital yuan. With digital yuan, government can better trace your transaction history rather than with paper fiat yuan.
3015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH 2.0 And High Transaction Fees.. on: October 12, 2020, 07:37:25 AM
The hype around DeFi projects is beginning to calm down, and the course of many tokens of DeFi projects has noticeably decreased. Today's commission at 30 Gwei pleases me.
I checked fee on ETH network seconds ago and the average-speed transaction requires 44 GWei as fee. In fact, hours ago in today too, the fee is at 22 Gwei. At that rate, fee dropped to the rate in July 2020 before the DeFi hype began to make fee became higher and higher and reached crazy levels few weeks ago.

Some sites to track ETH Gas
https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php
https://ethgasstation.info/index.php
https://etherscan.io/gastracker
https://txstreet.com/
https://ethgas.watch/
https://www.gasnow.org/

Make sure to read and know steps to cancel or replace your transactions [GUIDE] How to cancel or replace an ETH transaction (Metamask, MEW, MyCrypto)

Stucked transactions occur almost always on very heavily used contracts where gas limits have to be set up much higher also. When we are interacting with very complicated contract or the transaction has to be routed between a few contracts, for example: ETH - wETH - GOLD - wallet, then it makes the gas limit go higher. This is the simplest way to exchange on Uniswap, which needs at least 150.000 gwei gas limit because less will be not successful.

Suggestion: I am using 1inch exchange. You can use their CHI token to lower significantly the ETH gas fees  Wink.
This is a DEX aggregator, so you have all Dex exchanges in one place.

https://1inch.exchange/

Another solution is new DEX nobody talks about called Honeyswap.org

https://honeyswap.org/#/swap

Uniswap clone made on XDAI which makes transactions cost 0.0003$ and there is no network congestion problem, additionally, this is also DEX aggregator.

I think we are seeing a big Uniswap competitor here  Wink.

If you just want to look at Bitcoin addresses, why not use a Tor window in the Brave browser.
Brave browser is not a good browser. Use Tor on Brave browser does not give you protection.

Other browsers that are better than Brave browser:
- Firefox browser: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
- Tor browser: https://www.torproject.org/download/
If you need Tor for mobile, Orbot can help you: https://guardianproject.info/apps/org.torproject.android/
3017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dash undervalued? on: October 11, 2020, 09:29:15 AM
If newbies don't know where to get news, updates and technical analyses (are given free) for DASH project, DASH's ANN thread is the place for them.

Announcement thread: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency

qwizzie made that post with his personal analysis on DASH and describe his analysis very detailed. I don't need to say more because he is professional, I am not.

Undervalued, now!

3019  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to learn on how to distinguish merit looking and a helpful post on: October 11, 2020, 07:07:05 AM
Still I wanted to discuss to know your opinion so that I could learn on how to distinguish merit looking and helpful posts that will help me to become a better member of the forum.
Why have ability to distinguish merit looking posts and helpful posts can help you to be a better member of the forum?

You are better member if you are more active on the forum and make more contributions with higher quality.

Good posts are posts have:
- Good contents
- On topic answers and help OP to answer questions.
- Not a plagiarism
- Not a copy & paste and don't have personal thoughtful opinion.
3020  Other / Meta / Re: If you see a copy-paste topic from newsletters on: October 11, 2020, 07:02:04 AM
In fact, it’s important to me to see that this content can help someone or contribute to the community.
Copying someone else's content does not fit that criterion and I do not reward such content.
I agree with your opinion. It is not true to say all shared articles are useless but it is not wrong to say most of posters do this to make noise and hope to get merit.
I think copy and paste is not a problem, they have tried to find information and are willing to share this information with many people. I think it's a good and noble attitude, it is very appropriate to give merit as a sign of gratitude for the information shared.
If you know the forum, know bitcoin, cryptocurrency, you do know how to search and find what you need on Internet.
