3001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 10 LTC bonus for 1 week mining > 2MH/s - LTCRabbit.com on: August 19, 2013, 09:05:06 PM
Ok Salty. 1 slot reserved for 24h. Is that enough time for you to contact your friend?

Yup, was more than enough. I already got ahold of him, and said we currently are only hashing at 1.5Mhash (sold off a 7950) so you can give away my slot. Sorry.
3002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 10 LTC bonus for 1 week mining > 2MH/s - LTCRabbit.com on: August 19, 2013, 08:50:57 PM
May I reserve a possible spot?

I have a friend who opperates a LTC mining rig with me, and I need to ask him before switching.
3003  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Honey Caramels on: August 18, 2013, 07:14:53 PM
I ordered a half a lb of the variety for my mother for her Birthday about a month ago, and they were incredibly good, and the shipping was very quick. (I'm late leaving feedback)

Sadly, she is on a diet, so I was forced to help her eat them  Cry. The Chocolate were her and my favorite, they are just delicious, followed by the Almond, Raspberry, Salted, and Plain but they were all pallet pleasingly good. I forgot that she isn't the biggest honey fan, and after sampling a few, I was afraid that she wouldn't like them, because it is very noticeable that they are made of honey. But they were so good she made an exception and ate more than a few of each type. I also got the lip balm, which then ended up going to my sister, as she is the lip balm user, and she was very impressed with the quality, far beyond the beeswax lip balms that you can buy in stores (burts bees etc). I almost ended up eatting the lip balm, but decided it would be better for its intended use.

I would highly reccomend getting a 1/4th lb sampler to see which are your favorite, and then placing your 10 LB order, because your order of favorites may differ from mine. But you wont go wrong with any of them.

Ordering Honey Caramels from Bees Bros is a great way to make people on a diet hate you, and the people close to the person on the diet love you.
3004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRC] Craftcoin - Portable Minecraft Game Currency w. Economy Plugin on: August 16, 2013, 04:01:19 AM
I think the first step is making sure the difficulty returns to a reasonable level, and getting transactions squared away. If there are 1000 servers that use CRC, it doesn't help if they have to wait a few days for a transaction to confirm.
3005  Economy / Computer hardware / [CLOSED] 10-20 Block Erupters on: August 15, 2013, 11:09:46 PM
First off, yes I am well aware of the ROI, chances of them not paying back etc.

I'm interested in experimenting with a few Erupters for a secret project, and decided I'd check to see if anyone had given up mining with them here first before going to Ebay. I'm looking to buy with $ via Paypal, as Paypal actually works fine for physical things. I'm not completely sure on the price per unit since they change from week to week, so I'd appreciate it if interested sellers could pm me or post what they are looking for them, and the quantity they are selling. Not in hand is fine, as long as the preorder date is soonish. I may be interested in more than 10-20 if the price is right, however I plan to start there. Also, if you have a full setup, USB Hub, fan, etc I'd be interested in that as well.

If you have run yours off of a Raspberry Pi, would you mind also letting me know how many you were successfully able to run at a time?

Thanks for your time, and info,

SaltySpitoon

Edit* thanks for the replies, I have purchased the BEs.

3007  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC-E: USD to PayPal on: August 14, 2013, 06:18:56 PM
Is that possible to withdraw USD from BTC-E to PayPal accout?
I saw on bitcoinwiki that PayPal is supported.

It is, not sure why people are saying it isnt. If you go to your finances, and hit the Withdraw button next to USD, you can withdraw to Paypal. There is a 6% fee however and a minimum transaction amount ($250). In the field that says "Purse" you enter your Paypal Email address, and they send the $.

I've gone that route before, and the first time to withdraw, it takes like 12 hours, although I believe BTC-E says that you may have to wait for 24 hours. After your first withdraw, it goes a bit faster. Something about them making sure you aren't on a Paypal blacklist.
3008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Exchange] Latest Cryptsy Additions, News and announcements on: August 14, 2013, 01:23:07 AM
There were support services lined up from Thailand to Kenya to Somalia that were going to use proceeds of Elephant coin (ELP) to support wildlife reserves...but since Cryptsy decided not to add it over 100,000 wild elephants have died as a result.

I was curious about this figure, as I have watched quite a bit of National Geographic, so I looked into it a bit further.

http://www.defenders.org/elephant/basic-facts

"Today, there are an estimated 450,000 - 700,000 African elephants and between 35,000 - 40,000 wild Asian elephants."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/animals/conservation/elephants/intro.shtml
"the WWF estimates there are between 25,600 and 32,750 individual Asian elephants left in the wild."
" The WWF estimates there to be between 470,000 and 690,000 individual elephants. (African)

So because Cryptsy did not support a coin, 15-20% of the world's elephants have been killed?

Also, I found an Elephant sanctuary page and found this,
http://www.elephants.com/faq.php

"How much does their care cost per month?
Food, dietary supplements and regular veterinary care cost approximately $1,000 per elephant, per month. This does not include operating costs and salaries"

So the elephant coin fund would have donated at least $100 million per month?

*Joins this weeks book club*

If you read the book, it goes further into depth on everything. I haven't read it in a while, so I don't completely recall, but I seem to remember that Patrick Bateman actually did kill everyone, and his influence is what got him out of it. The "in his mind" thing was added by the movie. Not a bad touch though.
3010  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB]: One fake 10oz Engelhard silver plated bar, one 1oz fake Engelhard bar on: August 12, 2013, 04:24:59 AM
I would like to obtain 1x fake 10oz Engelhard silver bar (I know they're out there), and 1x fake 1oz Engelhard silver bar.

I don't want to pay the 0.7 btc that certain people are charging on some sites, because I know they're a whole hell of a lot cheaper than that to obtain.

I'm looking to pay around 0.2 btc shipped to the USA for the 11oz of fake/plated silver.

I'd like to characterize them and test some techniques for identifying fake silver.  These bars are supposedly using a more sophisticated alloy that more accurately resembles silver than some of the older fakes.

They might be out there, but the 1 Oz fakes are more expensive than the real 1 oz bar. 1 Oz bars/coins aren't faked often, unless they are collectors items, because its realitively expensive to fake them well. 10 Oz fakes aren't that uncommon, but most of them are really bad quality. If they are good quality, they get spendy pretty quickly. (maybe check Ebay?)

I remember looking into this when I was buying a lot of 1Oz silver coins/bars, and in order for it to be profitable for 1 Oz fakes to be made, the price of silver had to be over $38/oz, so .7BTC might not be too far off for both. The materials they make the fakes out of are cheaper, but the machining costs are pretty high.
3011  Other / Politics & Society / Re: government opening my packages? on: August 10, 2013, 09:50:58 PM
If you recieve a large number of packages, every so often a package of yours will be opened by the Post office to make sure you aren't peddling drugs or something like that. I used to get 3-4 packages per day, and every few weeks I'd have one that was opened and resealed. Never had anything go missing though.
3012  Other / Meta / Re: Contact theymos for refund. on: August 10, 2013, 12:47:57 AM
The OP makes a valid point though. I don't understand why accounts are allowed to be openly sold on here

I don't speak for Theymos, but this question has been asked enough that I have the answer pretty well memorized.

Account selling is allowed for the same reason having multiple accounts is allowed. Because theres absolutely no way that we can 100% enforce account selling and multi account use. By making it openly known that it is allowed, people can stay vigilant. If we decided to crack down on account selling and multi account users, people would be lulled into a false of security, and those that slipped through the cracks could do more damage.

As it is now, everyone is aware that anyone could be a purchased account, so people tend to look for things like, old accounts that haven't been active in a while, and differing behavior than normal.
3013  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: new bitcoin game site - Bitnopoly on: August 09, 2013, 07:07:40 PM
This is a great idea. I'll be checking the site out soon, and I'll be sure to give feedback asap.
3014  Other / Off-topic / Re: PLEASE! on: August 09, 2013, 06:56:30 PM
If you read the Ebay listing though, it says,

Returns

No returns, sorry.  Item is brand new so there won't be any problems with it.
3015  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for .5 BTC loan - 10% in 2 weeks on: August 09, 2013, 06:38:15 PM
I don't understand why he went to the hassle of giving collateral just to scam.

Quick way to sell the account I'd guess.
3016  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Finally A proven way to buy BTC with credit card and paypal on: August 09, 2013, 04:44:04 AM
I actually tried doing this a LOOOOOONG time ago, and the amount of $ you lose by the time you are done is rediculous. I deposited enough $ for 128 BTC, and ended up only getting like 60 or something like that after all of the trading fees and finding someone who was trading for SLL.
3017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think a post was censored so posting here _ Re Goldcoin Scam Reward Change. on: August 09, 2013, 04:27:44 AM
I have no idea what you mean about having a comment deleted.

Yeah, I just happened across this thread, and that is pretty much the only thing I'm trying to figure out. The GLD Info thread isn't self moderated, how would you have had your comment deleted?
3018  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMAGI METALS (BEWARE) on: August 09, 2013, 03:49:03 AM
I've dealt with Amagi Metals a few times (Whether they know it or not) and I've never had a problem. Two weeks for precious metal deliveries is not uncommon. If you order from sites like APMEX or Provident, 1-1.5 weeks is about average. Some sites that offer competitive pricing can take as long as 2 months if you don't order a very large order. So while 2 weeks may seem like a while, in perspective, its not out of the ordinary. Perhaps a bit longer than you would have liked, but isn't this more a case of giving them negative feedback for shipping speed, rather than claiming it was a scam?
3019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Pool][Revolution] LitecoinGiver.com - REVOLUTION POOL [Referral System][CASINO] on: August 09, 2013, 03:26:47 AM
There is reason to believe that Galax and Hacker102 are operating a scam. Perhaps their pool is legit, but it does not seem that their other ventures are. Please judge the situation for yourself, and think carefully before doing business with them.

3020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM WARNING] WIN 100 LTC! www.100LTC.com on: August 09, 2013, 03:24:42 AM
IP Confirmed by Theymos, both hacker102 and galax are the same person.

So, since the only person who claims to have won anything is the guy who is running the site, I'd say with a much larger amount of certainty, this site is not to be trusted, please think carefully before sending any coins.
