I just want to emphasize one thing: the "breakeven" and "complete reward" expected times that now are around 13 / 14 months, are based on CURRENT active mining infrastructure vs current difficulty. They don't take in consideration the new scenario with ASICs. When ASIC infrastructure will be added, I expect that they will shorten a lot (even if difficulty will hugely increase).
I would like to emphasise that the break even point quoted is only if you leave your investment and dont get any referals. I reached break even in approx 6 weeks!! Referals massively speed up the process. wow. 6 weeks? that is fast.

Friedcat, perhaps it is time to remove "[GLBSE]" from the topic.

I will offer a 20BTC bounty to anybody who posts a measurement of the size of the die used in BFL's "SC" devices. I'm assuming they all use the same chip. It's really easy to get the die measurement from a broken device -- just grind off the plastic/ceramic top using a dremel and pull out a ruler. I will be happy to escrow the bounty with a well-known forum member if you can present credible evidence that you're serious about this -- that way you can be sure you'll get paid before you totally wreck your already-broken device. I need this figure in order to compute the η-factor for their product. I will also offer a 20BTC bounty for knowledge of which process node BFL is using. However, I caution in advance that it's not as easy to be 100% certain about that -- you can't just measure it with a ruler -- so claiming this bounty will be more difficult and will involve more verification (which might not even be possible) than the raw die-size bounty. Please post here if you have any questions about what would be sufficient to claim this bounty; I don't want any hard feelings. I have offered bounties like this in the past and have a history of paying promptly. Both of these bounties become null and void if BFL releases the figures themselves. Hi Elden, the node and method are detailed in the upcoming issue of bitcoin magazine. (Issue #4). It'd be funny if BFL won this bounty. LOL Josh mails him a Jalapeno. lol. good one.

So I finally placed an order with Butterfly labs. My order number was almost 12k. #1 Twelve thousand? Really? #2 I'm not going to see any hardware for like 6 months am I? #3 Even when I do get my hardware it won't be worth shit if 12k other people placed orders for this crap.
I've stopped ordering from BFL. They have too many orders to fulfil now.

I registered to bitcoinasic.net and would like to see my previous order history I had at btcfpga.com. is it possible and how? The contact form doesn't work. May be the order history from https://www.btcfpga.com/ should be transferred to https://www.bitcoinasic.net/and also PW and ID. +1 Thought about the same after tried to log in with former credentials on the new site. I can't even login with my email from the previous site.

my deposit to cryptostocks is done. just need 6 confirmations. I will check later in 1 hour and then buy your stocks, thanks. hi pyra-proxy, I love your idea and I'm gonna buy some shares on cryptostocks in awhile. The reason is that I already have 3 accounts over at pyramining but if I invested in your stocks, I could cash out anytime. Loving it. Will send some BTC in a few mins. Okay sorry, I missed Pyramining and just thought it was a pyramid. But I would think this is bad idea: 1) You have to trust Pyramining. 2) You have to trust Cryptostocks. 3) You have to trust pyra-proxy. 4) When you buy the stock (it should be a bond, not a stock) directly through Pyra-proxy, your BTC are invested. But when you buy it from someone who is SELLING it, then your bitcoins invested are NOT contributed to pyramining and will not increase dividends generated. 5) The contract mentions no such thing of a buyback program or an askwall. This means that if you want to sell, you will have to sell for less than what you brought for unless pyra-proxy decides to start a new program not in the contract. I'd suggest investing in Pyramining yourself as the risk for this is orders of magnitudes higher. If you need a referral link to sign up, try http://www.pyramining.com/referral/zfhd3gstq or http://www.pyramining.com/referral/a4g3kdnhb1- true 2- true 3- true 4- true 5- I don't agree with this because as outlined in the investment plan a portion of the dividends are rerouted back into pyramining to create a stable/marginally growing account size, so over time the dividends should naturally grow. Had I chosen a bond system I would not be reinvesting some of the payouts to preserve/grow the fund size, and while not outlined in the contract (maybe I should) I have no plans to issue any more shares in the program so as the account grows or mining becomes more expensive you are very likely able to sell your shares at a higher value than you bought them at. I agree that if you have sufficiently large an investment and you have no time restrictions for when you need those coins back then direct to pyramining is the best way to go. My program was to set up a fund to get all the benefits of a permanent pyramining account and make it easier to be depositing smaller amounts or allow people to sell their stake to someone else any time they choose. I know the trust issue is a big one and in time you will see that I will live up to my word and do my best to do the honorable thing in the event of a mishap, I won't expect trust from anyone and I'll let my actions demonstrate this. I have publically announce the head account in pyramining where these funds are placed and even without logging in/having an account any person can see the funds in the system to verify my management of these programs.

First it was Oct, then Nov and now Dec. If Tom is able to deliver end of Nov the BFL per-order customer are screwed. If this Dec news is true my estimation is, that customers will not see any BFL ASIC product in 2012.
If a gambler were to bet on both of the favorite horses to win, then the gambler would win either way. Yep. I have preorders for both BFL and bASIC for roughly equal amounts of USD. I don't really care which company releases first. I would have put money down on some Avalon as well if their pre-ordering process wasn't so fucked up. same as me. Though I would love to see Tom's hardware out first.

.... scheduled to be released in late November or December.
late November or December. ? why so late?

As I have more than 5 units pre-ordered from Tom's site, I would to see them shipping out ASAP. I have a been marketing their products in my town for the few weeks and really hope to get ASIC mining soon.
