3021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SCAM WARNING] WIN 100 LTC! www.100LTC.com on: August 09, 2013, 02:31:31 AM
I have issued the scam warning tag, due to more than reasonable doubt that this site is indeed a scam. The fact that multiple transactions were supposed to have been paid out, yet no one can find any TX IDs, I find more than odd. There seems to be no record of the LTC being recieved or sent, and the fact that you were able to have 70 people send you 1 LTC without any sort of verification within 20 minutes of the announcement, I find odd as well.

I'll be more than happy to remove the Scam Warning if you can provide any sort of proof that this site is not a scam (TX IDs would be a great start) but until then, I feel that it is in the community's best interest for the warning to remain in place. Feel free to pm me if you would like to get this all straightened out not in public, or in the thread if you wish.

I also have reason to believe that hacker102 is an alt of galax, due to the fact that hacker102 is the only one to have claimed to have recieved anything, yet no TX IDs, and in galax's pool thread, hacker102 is the one having a conversation with what I believe is themself in order to make the pool look good.

From this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=262029

I'm totally new to all this, I have registered an account, now what? How i setup miner and mine Litecoin?

yet, you have 4 LTC to spare on a 1/100 gambling game?

I sent 4 LTC in a row, when it was 95... I won those pack Wink

100LTC - exchange - course: 4LTC/100LTC Cheesy Thank you!!

Requested an IP confirm, and waiting on a response.
3022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WIN 100 LTC! www.100LTC.com on: August 08, 2013, 07:47:19 PM
OP: Provide the tx id's of the payouts for the first three rounds.

I second this, would any winners care to step forward? Or if you want to remain anonymous, if you could PM me the transaction ID's I'd appreciate it. Or, galax, would you mind posting the TX IDs? In a business where transparency is key, the missing TX IDs could sink you, so I would imagine you would be happy to bolster them proudly.
3023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRC] Craftcoin - Portable Minecraft Game Currency w. Economy Plugin on: August 07, 2013, 09:16:50 PM
My question is, with the projected "Band aided" plan, would that effect the implementation of a long term fix? If the only thing the short term fix is going to do, is fix the coin for as long as possible, to buy time for a long term fix, I don't see any problem with that. But, if by implementing the short term fix, it will be more difficult for the long term fix, there is a problem.

Blindfolded, what is your plan for the short term fix?

It would consist of a manual re-target, and tweaking the adjustments. Difficulty may spike again the following day for all I know, but I'm willing to do it if there is sufficient pressure to do so. As far as making it more difficult to fix long term, it will probably have no real impact.

That being said, if there is no harm done to the longrun by the short term fix, I vote for the short term fix to be implemented.

If the difficulty spikes and we are stranded again, we are back in the current situation, but no further back. And that will take some pressure off you to come up with a kick ass long term solution  Grin and allow CRC to be used in Minecraft servers again (since getting deposits in/out is an issue right now)

If anyone sees any issues that could arrise, please voice them. Last thing I want to do is break the leaky pipe with the duct tape.
3024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Silver Rounds or Silver Bars; which do you prefer? on: August 07, 2013, 07:25:29 PM
Rounds tend to have a higher premium, but are also easier to sell, bars are a bit cheaper, but more difficult to sell. I'm not sure if this applies if both are APMEX generics though. I haven't bought/sold any of those.

3026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 06, 2013, 08:47:56 PM
Even if this idea was a bust, it would be good publicity for Bitcoin. "Internet Crypto Currency Group Cleans up the Detroit Housing" - Article about people buying houses with Bitcoins, people reading then associate Bitcoins with real money, the investing group might lose out on a few thousand dollars, but if you are holding enough, a publicity price spike could offset that cost. If it succeeds, you have the publicity + houses which may or may not be worth anything.

I think the answer is building lowish income housing. If you have houses that are too nice, people will torch them. If you have slummy houses, you aren't fixing the problem. So maybe provide lower middle class housing, so people can afford to live there, and you can keep expanding the project without making your tennants a target. (I'm assuming you plan on renovating and leasing out the houses so you will have some sort of income)
3027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 06, 2013, 12:44:54 AM
So we are all gunna die when we move into our new homes? lol

Yes

Ok maybe not all of us, but the risk is far greater of being robbed/vandalized/killed in Detroit than nearly anywhere else. I for one, would like to invest there, however I would not personally live there. I'm actually not a fan of Michigan to begin with, so I never had any intention to move there. That does not mean that there aren't people that would live there, or would like to live in a safer/nicer part of Detroit than where they live already. Creating a safe neighborhood would be a #1 priority, and probably the most difficult thing to do.
3028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 05, 2013, 11:57:36 PM

The reason I had Detroit in mind is the transportation and infrastructer is already there. Mainly, we snatch up some land/property and convert into a bitcoin shanty town to start and spreading out as we go. At least that is my thinking.  Grin

I have a feeling this might be our only chance.

The infrastructure is very worn, but true that could be fixed more easily than building it all from scratch. It would be neat, but there are a few things that could break the project. First, we would need to create jobs so people could work and afford to live there. We would also need to repair the houses to liveable conditions. So while it may only cost $500 to buy a house, it would still cost many thousands to repair them. Then we would have to deal with crime. Those in areas that weren't improving would be targeting the area that is. I have a feeling the few police officers left in Detroit would be hanging around our section, because we would be the only ones paying taxes, but security would still be an issue. I suppose its doable, but we have to first figure out how to recoup our costs so we can continue expanding.

As for property taxes, I'm sure we could just talk to the mayor and perhaps find some business loophole that would lower the taxes for our project while we were getting everything set up. I would think they would be more interested in a reduced tax rate, rather than none at all.

edit* Also, did a bit of looking into it, rather than aiming at the $500 houses, I'd say aiming at the $10,000-$20,000 houses is a better plan. There are actually quite a few of them that don't look like they are in ghettos. Lets get this one.

3029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfund Homes in Detroit? on: August 05, 2013, 11:39:25 PM
I'm not sure knocking down old shoddy buildings for farmland is a very good idea. What do you think the chances are that the old buildings you are demolishing were painted with lead paint? Even if you disposed of the house materials in the proper way (hazmat precautions required, very very expensive) the ground around where the houses were demolished would be unusable due to the contact it had with the house in standing condition.

I think it would be incredibly neat to have a Bitcoin crowd funding project buy up an area, but I think we may have better luck in another area that is insanely cheap. I have often though of buying a lot of land out in a very rural area, and then creating a large business there. Jobs would attract people to move there, and essentially grow the area into a town. Detroit may still be feasible, but perhaps with a different plan than funding by farming.

Stickied until Wednesday.

Sorry to post once again, but I would like to apologise for excessive editing, I got a more specific clarification on the +1 rules and in this threads case, they are OK. Posting +1s is only not allowed when they are used to "add" to a thread without providing any additional points, thoughts, arguments, etc, or used to bump threads. Because this is just a poll that is asking you to subscribe your interest, more than a +1 is not required. Sorry for the mixup on the rules, I'll try to confirm based on specific senarios next time, rather than trying to generalize rules to everything.

3032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GameCoin (GME) - MANDATORY UPDATE to v0.8.1 before August 15th on: August 05, 2013, 03:48:59 AM
The thread is stickied for a few days. I've been having a tough time deciding what to sticky, as it seems there may be a few threads that are adding "MANDATORY UPDATE" or something along those lines, that really don't need to be updated, but just want to be stickied. If anyone has a real mandatory update, like GameCoin seems to have, please pm me. I try to check out all of the threads, but I do miss some unless someone pms me or reports the post.

Next time guys, feel free to PM me. I'll either sticky the thread, or give a clear explanation as to why I wont. I don't bite  Grin often
3033  Other / Meta / Re: Can we get a neutral in the trust system? on: August 05, 2013, 03:11:40 AM
I agree, there are a lot of times where you deal with someone, something goes wrong, but is fixed. It could have been an honest mistake, or a scammer reevaluating their options as to whether they should use you to build more trust first. You don't want to give them bad feedback as your deal did go through, but saying you trusted them would be an overstatement. For this sort of senario, a neutral would be perfect. "Some complications but deal went through" sounds a lot better than, "Scammer took a day to give me my money" or "I thought I got scammed, but the guy is really honest, so honest he could have scammed me but didn't"

I support a netural, although I don't think SMF supports it.
3034  Other / Chinese students / Re: Teach me kung fu for 20,000,000 bitcoins on: August 04, 2013, 11:57:43 PM
After your lesson, I should be able to fly, breath fire, and hold my breath for 5 hours.

So, if I help you get your pilots license, some sort of head strapped flame thrower, and some scuba equipment, you will pay me 20,000,000 BTC?
3035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Pick your favorite Alt-Coin! on: August 01, 2013, 10:35:48 PM
Alright, left this stickied a few days longer than I had intended to, but no harm done. I will however be unstickying it now, there are over 500 votes at the moment, which should be a large enough sample size to get somewhat accurate information. You are free to continue on with regular conversation about the poll or whatever, and use a daily bump to keep the thread in the public if you wish, just letting you know that in order for my "Sticky anything that could be considered important, interesting, or useful" policy to work, I have to make sure that I take down things that have been stickied after a while, or eventually the entire front page will end up stickied.
3036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Official launch of Cryptogenic Bullion! MANDATORY UPDATE!!! on: August 01, 2013, 09:56:37 PM
Stickied for a bit, to make sure anyone who needs to update does.

I'll watch the thread, but if someone could pm me when the block reward changes, so I can unsticky the thread, I'd appreciate it.

Hey! That means something to me. You try telling a forum full of anarchists and libertarians what they can and can't do, and see if you have any fans (more likely to have your house torched)

@Hydroponica

Really?

Anyone with more than two brain cells not fighting each other for survival can see this is you LOL

~BCX~

I don't know, the OP's post is too clean to be Hydroponica.

I support it.

I love you  Grin

I support it ĦĦĦas well!!!

you too  Cheesy

by the way, sure I agree that XPM on BTC-E isn't a bad idea, it has a fairly large userbase for being such a new coin, so BTC-E would probably have a considerable amount of trades with a XPM trading pair.

Well, whether you are on a roll or not lol, be careful not to overdo the posts in a short period of time, or you trip off the spammer alerts.
